Reviews for Habitat Suites
Review 1:They could have used better ventilation in the cooking and eating area. The smell permeated everything:(
Review 2:Super friendly and helpful staff - especially the cook staff.
Review 3:Can't think of anything I didn't like. We didn't get a chance to have breakfast there but the menu seemed pretty limited. Maybe more options for breakfast.
Review 4:Everyone was nice! It was a great stay in a location close to everything!
Review 5:Love love this hidden gem. Lots of little touches, very green. Live plants. Full size fridge. Please dont like it too so I can always get a room here.
Review 6:Breakfast was a bit unorganized and the juice had strange taste.
Review 7:The staff was very friendly. The appearance was in good condition. We were conveniently located and didn't have to drive far to get to downtown or state capital area.
Review 8:It did not feel like a hotel atmosphere. If felt more like you were borrowing someone's apartment for the weekend. Great home away from home feel. Had a full kitchen, bedroom seperate from living and kitchen area. The landscape and pool areas were very peaceful and relaxing
Review 9:Amazing breakfast, Warm, cheerful staff, Incredible attention to detail in everything from furnishings to decoration, comfort, freshness of food and beautiful landscaping; all with a green/ecological consciousness evident. One of the best places we've stayed at any price (and the price was modest!)
Review 10:Nothing bad to say
Review 11:This place is great, my guess would be it used to be apts. the price we paid for what we got was an excellent value. clean, friendly, comfortable, we would definitely stay again. Bonus was a tv in the bedroom and one in the living room
Review 12:Toilet was leaky, door was jammed and there wasn't any meat. However it was nothing compared to how great the place was.
Review 13:I loved the greenery and gardens. It was too cold for swimming but I'm sure the salt water pool is great. The room was large and had a kitchenette. It was a great experience.
Review 14:The suites were amazing, especially for the price. They come with full kitchens and a large bedroom and living room. The breakfast was amazing as well.
Review 15:The Internet went out often for short periods and was slow. The water in the shower(only in the shower for some reason)initially came out hot and after about 1 minute got barely warm enough during very cold winter days. The walls were very thin and we could hear every soubd thw surrounding guests made: talking, walking across the room(above), outside.
Review 16:The staff was lovely. Very attentive, prompt and efficient. The breakfast was very nice, with lots of choices. I especially appreciated fresh green vegetables! Very friendly staff! The location is near a lot of Austin sites and happenings.
Review 17:There is nothing around this property to go to. The property itself definitely hasn't had an update or repair probably since it opened at least 15 yrs or more. It was a bit creepy and we travel often. This was by far a never return place for us.
Review 18:That they had a 2bedroom available
Review 19:Disliked not knowing that all Suites were on the second floor and that one of the bedrooms was on a second level. Had 2 elderly women who had difficulty getting up the stairs.
Review 20:Very good location for visiting relatives. Very clean.
Review 21:Similar to many other solutions of the same category, a bit anonymous, price ok but not cheap, staff not particularly friendly, just doing their job. Carpet everywhere in the accommodation, including kitchen.
Review 22:10 minutes away from downtown, during New Year's days the rate was interesting compared to more central hotels. Hot breakfast is nice. Plenty of space, the room is actually a small one bedroom apartment. Free parking.
Review 23:Community boiler. Don't get enough hot water. No hot tub like says online.
Review 24:Pleasent place. I think it was apartments converted to motel. Full kitchen that's nice makes u feel home. Nice breakfast but missing fruits veggies and waffels
Review 25:Perhaps, there should be additional signs on the main roads leading to the hotel. It is difficult to navigate to the hotel if you are unfamiliar with the area.
Review 26:The unit is spacious - it has a living area with a small kitchenette, and a bedroom with a full bad. Clean and quite. Breakfast is tasty and included in the price and it is made by order. Friendly staff. The hotel is good value for the money and it is located only 5 minutes (with a car) from downtown Austin.
Review 27:We love this place. We've stayed several times. Large spaces with separate bedroom and living areas. Lush green landscape, private, great free breakfast. It feels like a retreat and not a hotel.
Review 28:the only problem we had was the shower was pretty cold no matter what time we took it
Review 29:very pretty grounds and very quiet. wonderful hot made to order breakfast
Review 30:Excellent and friendly staff. Breakfast was outstanding and the whole vibe was warm and friendly. Accommodation was spacious and comfortable. Even though we did not use the kitchen, it was well equipped. Environmentally friendly property that extended even to the tea and coffee service.
Review 31:The Habitat Suites sign on the Boulevard is out, and we had a very difficult time finding it, as we arrived after dark. Another sign was obscured by plants.
Review 32:The Breakfast buffet is excellent and well staffed. They will make anything you want, to order, and do it with a smile. Maudie runs the show and a tight ship! Can't say enough go things about this.
Review 33:We loved everything about our stay at Habitat Suites. At first I was hesitant because always had stayed in well known hotels, so this was a way different experience. It is comfy, cozy, your home away from home feeling, and awesome hospitality from everyone. It has a peaceful connecting feeling to nature away from typical chaotic corporate business hotels. Enjoyed the complimentary continental breakfast every morning during our stay. Loved the oatmeal. Enjoyed a glass of wine by the pool area during their complimentary happy hour. We will for sure return here everytime we visit Austin, Tx.
Review 34:Love the suite, with bedroom separate from sitting room. Nice full kitchen, though we did not use it. Enjoyed breakfast, and only got to one happy hour, but enjoyed that. too.
Review 35:It's really old and unclean. Don't let the pictures fool you like they didn't me. We took a glass out of the cabinet and put water in it. It filled with soapy water. Sheets were stained as well
Review 36:Great facility. Staff were amazing. We had an elderly handicapped person with us and they went out if their way to accommodate her needs. Room layout was great.
Review 37:Pool was dirty, cold and unusable. Couch and chair were old with the arms soiled and we get bit by something whenever we sat in them. Room 2113. Need to replace them. Could have plates and more serviceware for the kitchen.
Review 38:Location. Breakfast & Happy Hour food and drink. Quiet. Beautiful landscaping. Very friendly staff.
Review 39:I just enjoyed the home like feel of the room. As soon as I walked up to check in I was greeted with a smile, and once in the room I received a courtesy call to ensure I was happy. A great place with friendly staff. A true hidden gem.
Review 40:it would have been nice to have more things to walk to, like a little convenience store to buy a few groceries, but that's not something the Habitat people can solve alone. Also, there was more noise than we expected in the late hours of the night, again, not something that can easily be solved.
Review 41:Spacious quarters for the price range, free breakfast, good coffee, and nice staff. It was also nice to cook, I bought almonds at the Burlington store and roasted them for a healthy snack. I wanted to find out more about the ecological connection but, if there was more, you should brag about it....
Review 42:It was a little hard to find even with GPS. Not the fault of the Hotel but rather the roadway system in the area. They should trim back the succulent plants in front of the sign so it can be read.
Review 43:The facility was tucked away adjacent to the Highlands Mall that just closed. So now it's in what I consider to be a remote location. Not that that is a bad thing. I stayed there for the value and since it was my 1st visit to Austin I wanted to be close to town. Now that the Mall traffic is non existent this is probably more desirable for folks wanting to stay in a quiet place.
Review 44:Not a bad experience, but room was a little tired--needs updating. Breakfast was same every day.
Review 45:Clean, quiet, parking near room, pleasant staff. Would stay here again.
Review 46:Property is old, furnishing and appliances archaic, heater broke down when it was 40 deg outside, maintenance staff wasn't available, it was a cold miserable night. The AC vent started spewing black soot that covered portions of the kitchen and living room. The kitchen electric burner didn't work properly, took us 45 mins to boil eggs. The kitchen wasn't stocked properly, didn't have serving bowls, only one small butter knife, shelves had exposed cardboard, no lining, floor surface was sinking at places, had to watch our steps, bathroom was not stocked and wasn't clean. I can probably go on. Location was secluded. The room was on second floor, no elevators, hence had to lug my bags which wasn't pleasant. Anyways, I regretted booking this place. Breakfast was limited, no tea at the property, not even in the rooms, no electric kettle.
Review 47:Room layout, convenient parking, free internet, complimentary breakfast
Review 48:Very nice and the morning breakfasts were great. It wsds a large comfortable room and the staff was friendly and helpful. Clean and well maintained. Very good experience all around. Would recommend for friends and family traveling to Austin. Great place!
Review 49:Asked to change credit card and billing address and only changed card. Needed change for a house keeping gratuity and none available.
Review 50:Staff was friendly. Dining room was nicely appointed. Hotel environment and greenery was pleasing to the eye.
Review 51:Location is in a bad neighborhood. The hotel is located right behind a strip club and across from a closed mall. The commuter train nearby stops running at 6:30 pm, so getting back from downtown can be tricky.
Review 52:The wifi was solid and the breakfast, while basic and essentially the same every day, was pretty good. The staff was polite and efficient.
Review 53:I am a senior person with a military disability who was waiting for his wounded son from Afghan, asked if I could check out 2 hrs. later. That request was denied By the clerk R in a very Non-CARING attitude, said that it would cost $45 for a 1/2 day but I only needed a couple of hours. Spoke to R on the phone and he was hard and short and acted like he did not care .
Review 54:Heidi was great during check-in ,called to make sure I was satisfied with room. Great customer services, polite ,pleasant to a senior visitor. Breakfast was excellent and varied. Happy hour was pleasant as well.
Review 55:Sheets were rough. Pillows lumpy. No clock.Shower head cheap. But I'll be back.
Review 56:Very quite. Parking close to room. Friendly staff especially breakfast. Will be back.
Review 57:Location is slightly out of town and is also approximately $30-$40 taxi from airport. Train available nearby for access to city centre, so not a major problem.
Review 58:Late check-in to room (around midnight). Staff member was helpful and answered queries regarding Austin and nearby attractions. The room itself was spotlessly clean and had all necessary facilities. Bed was very comfortable.
Review 59:loved "green" aspects esp quiet garden like setting and plants in kitchen. loved breakfast. loved value for money. loved suite for its comfort and aesthetics. really fabulous place.
Review 60:Nothing.
Review 61:It was quiet, friendly, leafy, green, lovely room(s), lots of space, near Highland rail station for 12 minute trip downtown, great happy hour, one of the best places I have stayed in, in Texas. Can't rate it too highly!
Review 62:at night the outside lights, all of them were not turned on until several hours after dark. it very very dark, i reported it three days and was told it was because of the change of time. this was three days before the clocks are changed
Review 63:house keeping staff
Review 64:Aging facilities in the kitchen and the bath
Review 65:The apartment was spacious, well equipped for two couples travelling. The location and layout of the buildings provide a quiet and park-like environment.
Review 66:Had mosquitoes in the room the second day. The did not have anything to take care of it but offered to change our room. The strip club outside really makes a lot of noise outside in the evening. It does not disturb us in doors, my baby woke up because of the noise when we were moving her from the car to the room.
Review 67:Breakfast and Happy Hour were excellent. Really had healthy organic options. The small out door sitting was good to sit in during the evening. We were stuck there due to back weather and they really helped us out with weather forecasts and letting us stay the extra time. There were fresh apples from there trees, really enjoyed them. The carpets were clean but seemed a little old, its about time they should change them.
Review 68:The staff is very friendly and professional and worked real hard in helping me to turn my 2 nights stay into a 6 nights stay while on a very busy weekend. Happy hours with snacks are quite enjoyable either inside or on the patio by the pool. Very quite at night.
Review 69:Location wasn't as close to the "action" of Austin as we'd have liked.
Review 70:While the property was a bit dated, it was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast buffet was a great bonus and the staff was GREAT!
Review 71:The TV had some issues and it was not working well.
Review 72:The staff is very cordial, the internet connection is very stable. I also loved the fact that there was an appetizer around 5pm! and the breakfast was very tasty and good quality :)
Review 73:The decor, beds, fixtures...basically everything seemed extremely dated. The mattresses were very uncomfortable.
Review 74:The eco-concept was nice though there didn't seem to be much salt in the "salt water pool". Plants were in abundance but it would have been nice if they were labeled so that they could be appreciated more. It was fantastic having 2 entrances to the 2-bedroom suite. TV's in all of the rooms was also an pleasant surprise. Staff was super friendly and attentive. The breakfast was varied enough that we didn't need to eat out.
Review 75:Aging a bit, but clean and very adequate. Hidden a bit, and quiet as the mall across the street just closed
Review 76:Friendly Staff, good breakfast, good value. Like the fact that it was a "green" hotel
Review 77:Unfortunately there was a Hounted House near buy and they were making noises until past midnight, but I know this is not the hotel's fault.
Review 78:Apt fully equipped with refrigerator, microwave, stove, kitchen utensils. Very nice and comfortable bed. Nice breakfast.
Review 79:The lobby, staff and breakfast were excellent!!! The pool area was beautiful but the water was cold. The rooms were large, comfortable, but needed a little TLC. Things were starting to look run down, such as; wallpaper starting to peel and grout missing from the shower tile.
Review 80:The hotel decor & furniture is very outdated. Also the area was a little off putting at first. There was a Burlington parking lot around the corner from the hotel with a dumpster overflowing with trash and even mattresses. Also there absolutely nothing within walking distance of this place. You MUST have a car. Also the complimentary breakfast needs major improving.
Review 81:The staff was really great. Helpful, nice and always smiling. This really goes a long way in helping you enjoy your stay. If you have a car, then location is decent if you're trying to saving on lodging. It was like a 15 minute drive to most downtown areas.
Review 82:WiFi in room did not work. People could not get in touch with me until I stepped outside of the room. The staff could not transfer the call to room because the phone she was using was not equipped for transferring calls. The key didn't work on the door. Wrong room number was given.
Review 83:Location is beautiful as serene.
Review 84:They had like a pumpkin patch/Halloween fair it was kinda noisy but not under their control the rest was awesome
Review 85:This is a hidden gem of Austin I loved the facilities and the breakfast pool was super clean, staff also super friendly.
Review 86:Nice location except hard to get to from freeway. Google directions too complex. I had better luck finding my own way. A better route would certainly be better.
Review 87:The serenity.
Review 88:The only thing that we had trouble with was the discomfort of the mattress (we have a gel topped mattress at home)
Review 89:Love the gardens, salt water pool and complimentary breakfast and happy hour . Was happy to see so many organic choices and environmental considerations . Staff is outstanding !
Review 90:A small thing that could improve the stay would be to have complementary bottles of water. I would appreciate this!
Review 91:The suite was really nice and very friendly staff
Review 92:The second time I stayed, the bed was hard and leaned to one side. Not as comfortable.
Review 93:Location was good. It was clean, modern with attractive grounds that were well kept. The "hospitality" hour was a bonus.
Review 94:The suites were very nice and very spacious. The manager helped us out a lot upon check-in. We were there for a bachelorette party and had cash to pay for the rooms. They normally do not allow guests to pay cash, but he made an exception. Then they moved us rooms because we were unhappy that the two rooms were separated. I would definitely stay again!
Review 95:The hotel was old, dirty and poorly cared for. Our front door safety bolt was unscrewed, our main toilet did flush, the upstairs sheets had a hair in them and the hotel was at least 30 years old and no attempt to update. Sheets were left laying outside on a bench to replace ours when we left; no wonder ours were not clean.
Review 96:Enjoyed the split rooms and bathrooms
Review 97:The beds were horrible. Not comfortable at all. And overall out dated. I plan on just spending more on another place next time.
Review 98:Neat setup. Loved that it had a lot of space.
Review 99:Cockroach seen running across kitchen floor under stove. Chipped wall paint. Peeling wallpaper. Cracked tile. Overall outdated room (1115).
Review 100:Staff was friendly, free breakfast that ran late.
Review 101:Worse wi-fi I have ever had. The staff argued everyday I had breakfast. The front desk afternoon girl was extremely rude and should findanother job. The sheets were not clean and I purchased my own. Theynever changed them the entire week. I know, since they left mine on theentire time.
Review 102:It has a full kitchen and two tv'S. Parking was ample.
Review 103:The front desk was stingy with coffee, there was no sight seeing information or consierge, and the breakfast was cold and repetitive.
Review 104:The quiet and private shade was lovely and you didn't have a great deal of noise or contact with other guests. The pool was landscaped for relaxation and privacy and we loved it.
Review 105:Room not very clean. Chair in living area covered with stains and what appeared to be silly string on fabric. Was scared to sit on it.. Couch had that "gummy" feel to the fabric (as in REALLY needed to be cleaned) Stairs to room were askew and did not feel terribly safe.
Review 106:LOVED the breakfast. Great service from staff and super quality food. Not your standard boxed cereal and rubber eggs fare. Fresh Fresh Fresh Quality food prepared on site by super staff.
Review 107:The pillows are the hard type - no softer pillows at all and the bed is on the hard side. I'd have been ok with the bed if the pillows were not bricks. We stayed twice, one room a little nicer than the other -the first seemed a little more dated but all in all, perfectly fine.
Review 108:The setting is very nice - lots of greenery and it feels private. The hotel specifies quiet from 9pm on so it feels secluded and peaceful.
Review 109:The staff was courteous and friendly. My flight was delayed and they made accommodations for that. General ambience of location was excellent-- calm, peaceful and family friendly. I would recommend this facility to anyone going to Austin for any reason.
Review 110:We felt at home. All the staff were very friendly , especially Daniel and Mami. Daniel was the soul of the hotel, always in a good mood. There is a nice restaurant near by call Threadgill, good food for good money. The bed was really nice and the swimming pool really relaxing.
Review 111:The iron in our suite did not work, and the TV connection in the downstairs living area was bad.
Review 112:It was off the main thoroughfare, but close enough to I-35 and within resonable distance to the capitol, DKR Stadium, as well as fuel, and grocery stores.
Review 113:The hotel makes it very difficult to pay via credit card in advance (over the phone). Other than that, it was a great place.
Review 114:It was nice to have a kitchen and two rooms as I was travelling with an associate. I also liked the cocktail hour in the evenings.
Review 115:Interior could use an update
Review 116:The hotel was great. The room interior was a bit dated, but still had an unexpected feel of elegance. The two bedroom is split floor and all room options have a large living room. I will check foot a room at the habitat every time I go to Austin from now on.
Review 117:The room was old and tired, toilet paper and tissues like sandpaper, shower head needed work in bathroom. Overall very poor quality.
Review 118:The grounds were very nice, wooded, nice flowers.
Review 119:The only experience i had that would rate as bad was not related to the facility or staff, it was the guest above me. They constantly paced and stumped the floor all night long. The staff said when i complained at check out that a call to them could have fixed that problem
Review 120:The facility was clean, staff was friendly. Did not eat there so cannot comment on food service.
Review 121:Nothing. I loved it all!
Review 122:I loved how beautiful the property was along with the inside of the suites. I will definitely book a room here again in the future. The staff was very friendly as well.
Review 123:This was of the best hotel experiences I have ever had! The room as spotless, the bed super comfortable, the breakfast delightful, prepared jus for you, the front desk staff were very kind and the property beautiful. I will be returning again next month!
Review 124:Staff was accommodating to our needs. Having a handicapped person with us who could not climb the stairs they switched the suite without a problem. The breakfast was outstanding.
Review 125:While the rooms are very dated, they were clean and the beds were good. The staff were brilliant and the breakfast fantastic. Great experience all round and great value
Review 126:I didn't have a bad experience, but I had trouble getting through the traffic to get there, and then the location required me to keep getting into traffic again. The hotel has no restaurant, and there were few close by.I wish this place was better located.
Review 127:I really love this place. It is quiet, comfortable, and homey. The staff is so helpful and friendly and I love the healthy breakfast.
Review 128:Based on the activities we planned the location was not ideal; however, it is worth the drive.
Review 129:Fantastic place and breakfast! The excellent staff made the place warm and inviting. Comfortable bed.
