Reviews for The Duke Mansion

Review 1:There was nothing to dislike. It was a place of great to stay and enjoy the area.

Review 2:Every one was as nice as one could ask for. They wee always ready to "Help". We enjoyed our stay. Thank them all for caring.

Review 3:Staff needs to pay attention garbage on the grounds..was on the fountain steps I watched a staff member walk right by it was a yellow pull string popper more in the parking lot Loose tiles by the phones Breakfast mediocre other inns way better breakfast

Review 4:Staff was friendly room was comfortable

Review 5:The stay was excellent. My husband and I wanted peace and quiet and thestaff provided exactly what we wanted. I think it would have been alittle more convenient if there had been staff to help with luggage...But it was of no problem

Review 6:I loved the everything about the location. Our room was very quiet;excellent location within the town. I would definitely return

Review 7:Our room was a little small and there was no way one could get fresh air into any part of the room, even though the weather was beautiful.

Review 8:The majestic home filled with light and history made us feel we had stepped into another era of chandeliers and wealth. The grounds are as beautiful as the mansion. The staff were helpful suggesting a place to dine, offered us water for our onwards travel and greeted us warmly in the hallways. The bathroom was as large as the bedroom, and each had views out over a rose garden.

Review 9:The wi-Fi could use some updating. We weren't able to stream, only get email. The sheets were soft and comfortable but very wrinkled as if they'd been in a pile or left in the dryer too long.

Review 10:We loved the feel and setting of the mansion, located in a quiet prestigious neighborhood, over a typical city hotel. It gives you the sense of a by-gone era with its graceful and elegant architecture, and gardens. The staff was very helpful and courteous.

Review 11:Our room could have used one more lounge chair. There was a desk chair and one lounge chair. With two adults, another lounging chair was needed. Also, to be comfortably viewed from the bed, the tv needed to be larger. I know it can't be helped but the shower was small.

Review 12:There were several large wedding events taking place during our stay and the staff was very attentive and made us feel that we were just as important as the large party group event. Loved having the availability of an elevator which is not common for many inns of this size. The breakfast was delicious. It was such a delight to be able to walk and take in the beauty of the gardens and fountain surrounding the mansion. I am so glad that the house and its rich history have been preserved. We found the inn by "accident" due to another B&B that was full. The Duke Mansion was given as the alternative. We are so glad and will stay again when the opportunity presents.

Review 13:We loved our stay, with having many traveling and hotel expierences, the Duke will always be amongst our favorites with its rich history and helpful staff. The garden and the area around the hotel are very nice with plenty of restuarants to go eat at and of course the night life of Charlotte. Very recommendable to others.

Review 23:Gorgeous house and neighborhood, exceptional breakfast, interesting history. Staff more distant than at some inns but courteous.

Review 25:Location, facilities, garden

Review 26:Grounds and neighborhood are great

Review 27:Everything. The experience of the mansion was awesome.

Review 28:Came in around 12:30am and asked for 4 glasses of Cabernet wine. Took 30 minutes and we think we received a blush..or kool aid. Little disappointing since all, other services were very good.

Review 29:Kindness, courteous of staff. Morning breakfast exceeded expectations and was delicious. Overall a very nice experience.

Review 30:I didn't like the way of breakfast. I prefer a complete buffet which you can chose whatever you want. Breakfast ending earlier than usual, would prefer until 11:00. Internet had problems in speed and always cutting

Review 31:Nice to experience how people lived decades ago. Gives the impact of luxury.

Review 32:The surrounding were relaxing and the area very quiet. We first thought that we were too far out of the city but after we found some lovely places to eat, that thought went away. The breakfasts were fab and all the staff extremely friendly.

Review 33:only negative in my mind was the lack of a good exercise room. They had one, but it was the size if a small walk in closet. With that said, I would go back for the beautiful surroundings, service, and location convenience.

Review 34:I really enjoyed the historic atmosphere.beautiful surroundings.

Review 35:the ground were great. rocking chairs outside sitting rose garden all excellent!!!

Review 36:the 2 most important things--people and food are wonderful
