Review 19：The carpet was disgusting and smelled like urine. Our air conditioner had to be replaced and still did not cool the room very well. The entry floor stayed wet and the tile was very slippery. We had to walk carefully when walking on it so we didn't fall.

On the first night I found at least 12-15 strands of hair in one bed (talk about grossed out). When I was going to shower I found long strands of hair in the wash cloths & towels provided. If you want to stay comfortably in the hotel please bring your own wash cloths, towels, shower flops & a blanket (all the things I had to purchase on the first night). Housekeeping was disrespectful.

Other than that we were pleased with everything else and would stay here again.

Reported to same staff person said the man didn't have acutoff wrench,would have to cut off all water to fix. Came in Tuesday7:00 pm not fix My husband went to office I called in 10 mins to see ifhe was there and was told he was rude to her I said I was going to getrude if the shower wasn"t fixed. The towel bar in the bathroom came off the wall, not once but twice, and it still was not fixed when we left after 1 week. Generally the Inn needed some serious attention to the building itself. The Wi-Fi may have been free, but it was certainly not very fast.

Review 110：hotel was old and it showed... in everything. the room was not very clean. appliances didn't work. the sink in the bathroom leaked and some of the carpet was wet. the room was suppose to be beach view. and it was... if you looked around the corner there was a view of the water. hummmmmmmm. also, there were extra fees attached when we got there. so it wasn't worth the value for what we wound paying for. there were a lot of empty rooms for a friday night, as well. we'll look for something else next.

Review 111：We got to the motel before 11 pm and the office was locked. Our room keys and many others were placed in envelopes stuck in their mailbox on the road. When we finally got into our room the refridgerator was blocking the narrow walk way and wasn't even plugged in. The room was below freezing ( how do I know) my drink froze sitting on the table as my wife and I tried to keep warm under both sets of blankets. The heat never really warmed the room above 70 and we were there 40 hours after WE CUT THE HEAT ON AND MOVED THE FRIDGE. WILL NOT EVER STAY THERE AGAIN.

Review 112：it was freezing!, those little window AC units didnt work well we had to turn on the stove to stay warm. the "free" WIFI didnt work and we paid for a ocean view but the huge cabana blocked our view.luckily it was winter and not summer so we didn't sit outside anyway.

Review 121：A bunch of people sitting outside drinking a and playing loud music. Only got clean wash clothes every other day. The towels were rough and small. The blinds over the small windows needed replacing, I had to cover the windows to block out the light at night. The water temperature in the shower kept scalding me then freezing me. The sink stopper kept getting stuck. When you sit on the bed the lights came on because the plug ins were worn out and the light plug was being held in by pushing the bed frame against the plug-in. This was turned in and they just came in and pushed the bed against the plug-in again. Maybe the other building was in better shape but the long building across the parking lot was a joke. Also, we had to keep getting new keys because ours kept messing up and would not let us in.

Review 124：The "Mom & Pop" style lodging is still maintained. Very relaxed, comfortable, convenient, nicely maintained older establishment. This is our second stay here. Our first stay was when previous owner (native of North Myrtle Beach) had "By The Sea" and now our second stay with current owners at (Castaway Beach Inn . The name and ownership has changed but the hospitality, friendly staff, and well maintained facility remains. We will be back.

Review 125：Old thin towels, no pans for the oven, very little silverware and dishes; stayed between a bunch of long-term-stay construction workers who sat outside the rooms at night, took our chairs, playing music and drinking. Felt like I couldn't ever open my curtains.

Review 135：I booked an oceanfront room, they gave me a room facing another building & I was told I would have to pay $70 extra for an oceanfront room. Rooms were dirty. There was still old food in the refrigerator they never bothered to clean out. Hotel was rundown & very shady. I wouldn't let my 2 teenage daughters outside the room by themselves for fear of something happening to them. Rating on Booking.com was 3 stars but it was clearly a 1 if that. I will NEVER stay here again!
