Review 1：Bathroom had mold along the boarder at top of wall. Missing light bulb in bathroom, and burned out bulb in bedroom area. Maid or lack there of, the gentleman playing the maid was very unprofessional. I understand we stayed over a holiday but what we got for the price i am not happy about at all. The only good part really was that the bed was comfortable.
Review 2：I didn't like that when I booked the room that it was supposed to be a king sweet with a jacuzzi but when we got there to check in they said that room wasn't available. Instead we got a double with jacuzzi for the American price. You would think that they would have taken some money off since that is what I booked and didn't get it.
Review 3：I liked that the place was reasonably priced and the location was great, the staff was very friendly.
Review 4：The moldings were missing on the door, no refrigerator, microwave, hairdryer in the room. We were told we have to ask about it. Nothing like it says on the booking site. There were more people "staff" living there than anyone staying there. When we stayed there several months ago, there were cops there all night.

Review 6：When we first get there they put us in a non smoking room with no jacuzzi (I requested both). Once we told them the room was wrong one woman ran up to the room I guess to clean it and the other reprogrammed our keys and couldn't quit talking about how tore up she was about to be. Then we get into the second room and it was dirty with hair and dirt in the jacuzzi, looked like poop on the wall, the sheets had stains, and the blankets had holes in them.

Review 10：we tried to call the hotel several times to tell them we were going to be late and no one answered. It was a good thing we arrived before 9:30 PM because no one would have been in the office after that time. There was no refrig., microwave, dresser, and ice machine did not work. Kleenex was not even provided for the room. And the next day when we returned to the room it had not been cleaned and the cleaning crew had left for the day stating that they "had" cleaned the room when indeed the trash was still in the room, no clean towels, and beds were not made. Night manager gave us new towels but that was all she could do. Ice machine was out of order so items we purchased that needed refrigeration we had to go out and buy ice our cooler for. Overall very poor quality of service. If I knew then what I know now I would been more than will to pay more but the discounted rate was comparable to what others were offering in the area.

Review 12：Arriving - exterior of building is falling apart - we should have right there go inside and cancel but long travel and we where tiered! I called a day prior to make sure that the room is clean, an employee stated that she personally inspected everything. Inside the room we removed the comforter and found 3 or 4 long female hairs on the bed sheet - We only had less than one quarter roll of toilette paper - the shower was not function, we only could wash up. Absolutely unacceptable - My wife slept with her close on - after we found 2 large bugs which I had to exterminate. If anybody reads this who is interested in customer service, they would make sure that we would get our money refunded, it was a nightmare and we left at 6:00 am in the morning just to get away from this horrible place.

Review 17：The front desk staff was very helpful in locating directions for the Scenic railroad in Blue Ridge for a day trip. We had fresh towels and the room made up without having to ask like other places. VERY CLEAN room.

We will never be back! & when we left we still never received the remote and ac still never came on!

Review 42：The rooms have no trashcans, spider webs all over the light fixtures, no refrigerator, and tv would only work on one station and the remote didn't even go to that TV. On the first morning around 830am me and my husband was asleep when someone bangs in the door room service. My husband told them we were still asleep but the guy forced his way in with his key and busted the lock on the door. He looked at us and turned around and walk out not to mention we had the do not disturb sign in the door.

However, new management took over lastweek and the stay was the best experience I've had in years. Theroom was neat and clean....staff was extremely friendly and polite. If Iasked for something I didn't have to wait. You can tell the newmanagement team is doing everything in their power to turn this placearound and they are doing a great job!!

Room smelt moldy, the bath tub had a crack in it allowing water to pass underneath the wall and into the room...my wife was going to put her drink into the fridge but when she opened the door the inside of it was discusting and smelt as well.. I will never put my wife through this again! We usually get a cabin to stay in and thought we'd save a little money by staying here, big eye opener! I can't believe the group that owns these building's would allow tjis! We wanted to go to the pool, but low and behold it was a further disappointment! The water was almost to the green algae point, you couldn't even see the bottom of the pool! We wanted ice,but had to get ice from ice from the lobby out of an ice bag from a convenient store..is this enough??

Review 58：The bed was extremely hard and the pillows were probably the size of a wash cloth so did not sleep very well. They advertise as having free complimentary breakfast which they did not provide the first morning and only had honey buns and oatmeal cream pies on the 2nd morning with coffee.

The breakfast consisted of raisin bran, Tang or some type of orange drink, bananas and a Little Debbie oatmeal pie. They had no spoons left to eat the raisin bran with by the time we ate breakfast at 8:30. The lights also flickered on and off by the beds.

Review 79：The hotel is not nice. But you have to take into consideration that Helen is not an "fancy town." It's very rustic and grungy. Alpine Valley Inn is not a 5 star hotel. But anyone who stays in Helen in the downtown area must have this mind set to h ave fun. The town is enjoyable but the amenities are below par. Just enjoy the town and bring your own sheets.

Review 84：Once we came and was placed in rm 102 our reservation was not online to see what we wanted a microwave was brought the pool was not working and we stayed in room while staying in room we noticed clumps of gnats on wall and a funny smell the a/c stopped working so we switched rooms to 105 which as better tony was nice the worker we had our pets the lady at front desk told us they was ankle bitters cause she was afraid of the owners coming how rude dogs cant talk so the pool finally got open and the water was warm like a bath tube and breakfast (free) is only done on weekends which is not explained online i dont know if owner is cheap its just a bbox ox of cereal wow a day we got married there in helen 6 years ago it was better than that i guess owners try to save without thinking about the money we saved to relax the owner is cheap as hell its just a bow of cereal

One of the beds had a load ofhair in it. There were stains on the walls, soap scum and mold in thebathroom. I asked the owner for her name and she would not tell me norwould her staff (for fear of their jobs) and would not give me my moneyback until the next day "at 1pm". My sister and I had placesto be so I couldn't make it or I would have asked for my money back.The next day we saw someone in the pool with a baby that had no diaperon so we were never going swimming! Sleeping in the truck was probablybetter when we think back on it. The only reason we stayed the secondnight was there were no more vacancies available in Helen that night.One of the staff even called my room after 11 pm wondering if I had saidsomething about him to the other staff. That is so wrong!
Review 91：The Manager Andrea and her husband did everything within their power tokeep us at this hotel. I was even told that my sister and I would be inone of their updated rooms. We weren'T. We even changed rooms andthey put new sheets on the bed for us because we weren't sure if theprevious sheets had been used already. The only good thing was that itwas within walking distance to all the shops and restaurants in Helen.

The property is in disrepair and roach infested. The furnitureis broken and very old. Bring your own towels and toiletries. The swimming pool is notoperational, should be winterized and covered to prevent accidentaldrownings. There was even police called in around 3.30a.m according toone of the workers , drug related. Heads up helen , ga.chamber ofcommerce , this people are giving you a bad name.

We asked for a reduction of the room price for a weekend : the manager promised us a reduction but she had to call the responsible. She promised to call us back. At the end, nobody called us back. We called twice and each time, she told us that she will call us back and 3 weeks later, no call... So, I don't recommend this hotel !

If you must visit Helen and there is no availability, stay in another town and drive!
