Reviews for Magnolia Hotel Omaha
Review 1:Beautiful hotel in Omaha, great breakfast, gorgeous room, nice bar area with good happy hour prices and some pretty good food. Staff was very helpful and a quick walk down the street to a cool shopping and eating area in town. Fun place to be a Christmas time!
Review 2:Everyone we meet was as pleasant and helpful as the next one. It was the most consistently excellent experience ever in a hotel stay. Our experience is broad and would highly recommend this hotel.
Review 3:Desk clerk and valet parking were polite and halpful. Our car was at the door at the time we wanted it and the wake up call was on time. Breakfast was also very good.
Review 4:The noise in the hallway was loud and was awaken at 1:45 AM to loud cussing and bad language from drunk group of girls threating to beat some one up. You can hear everything going on in the hallway
Review 5:The people at the front desk was friendly and helped with getting a shuttle going and coming back to the hotel.
Review 6:All in all the hotel was very nice but a little more attention needs to be paid to the details. -The carpet in the hallways had multiple large stains. -The baseboards and light fixtures were covered in dust. -The tub in the bathroom was dirty with a very visible ring around it and pieces of hair in the base. I'm a clean freak and always carry Clorox wipes when staying in hotels so I cleaned it myself. -There was a broken bar fridge outside of someone's hotel room for almost an entire day. -Room service is only available until 10pm. -When I booked the room online I stated I needed a room for 4. The queen suite was one of the choices. Upon arrival we discovered that the sofa bed in the separate living room did not make out into a bed and we needed to rent an additional roll away bed at $20 a night. -The biggest issue is when we checked in our hotel room wasn't available yet and we had to wait until 8:30 PM. I was given no discount or compensation for that. After the initial first night the other two days were great, otherwise my review would probably be worse. -For the price I feel they need to either step it up a notch or make the price a little cheaper. A spa would be a nice addition, especially with all the weddings that go on there. The hotel has such potential.
Review 7:I loved the location, the free breakfast, and the layout of the room. The staff was very pleasant. The fact that there's a restaurant and bar in the hotel is also very nice.
Review 8:Great botique hotel centrally located next to the Old Market. Happy hour was a nice time to meet other people. Matt the bartender was great conversation and very helpful with ideas of where to visit things to do. Valet parking seemed disorganized. Front desk staff could not explain the bounce back promos or why the room price jumped UP when the promo code was entered.
Review 9:non-smoking, did not have room made up by staff, too much construction around area, didn't like the parking situation. staff didn't seem overly friendly
Review 10:shuttle service
Review 11:It is beautiful inside, the rooms are great and the staff extremely kind and helpful. It is located right next to many places to eat and go out to for nightlife.
Review 12:I had payed for the room on top floor, a corner room. I wanted this hotel specific for this room. I called at one point to ensure that is what I was getting and was told yes. Got to the hotel and with checking was told they had none available. Extreme dissapointment!! Food at the restaurant was terrible..unless you like the flavor of a TV dinner. Flavorless! Free shuttle was to pick us up, so unorganized that we had to walk back to the hotel!
Review 13:Staff very friendly.
Review 14:Didn't like our view. Didn't like how cold the front desk staff seemed. Hate the healthy vending machines lol really don't like that there is no pool and that the ice machine is on the second floor while vending is on the 4th. Elevators are slow it's faster to use the stairs
Review 15:Loved the breakfast buffet. Loved the cleanliness of the hotel. I liked that our room was the first one you see as soon as we got off the elevator. Shower and shower head were amazing.
Review 16:Parking was tricky. Options were self parking on the street (feeding meters every two hours until five), the ramp across the street that locks the gate at five, or valet (which I hate to mess with, just a personal preference... It's a hassle when your coming and going a lot).
Review 17:The staff was very friendly and accommodating to every need and want. Great historic hotel.
Review 18:The weather :)
Review 19:I have to say everyone at the Magnolia was absolutely wonderful. From Chris, the valet/shuttle person who entertained us with histoy of Omaha to the lounge server who offered me a free cup of soup sitting by the fire. Not only will this be my accommodation of choice next time but,I will tell everyone about my stay. I felt like I was on vacation at a spa..without the spa. Keep up the good work. The morale is great there.
Review 20:There isn't much shopping close by but they do have a shuttle that will take you where you want to go
Review 21:We liked the convenience of being able to gather in the lounge with our friends. The service was great, they were very accommodating to our needs. They served a full menu late at night.
Review 22:I liked everything, but if I had to pick 1 area to improve it would be the quality of the breakfast, and also the good stuff seemed to be gone towards the end of the sitting
Review 23:liked how homely the staff made the place seem. they all remembered our names and were all very helpful morning, noon and night. the courtesy car was fantastic
Review 24:Got charge for night I did not stay tried calling the hotel left numerous voicemails no response. Just got back from filling out disputed claim from my bank. Big time hassle
Review 25:Unclean bathroom and water stains on the ceiling over the bed There was no valet to greet us and no other parking options. The breakfast buffet was unkept and a mess. Wecame here for our 3rd and 11 th anniversary. We wont be back.
Review 26:Im a fan of this location and architecture of this and neighboring structures.
Review 27:Expensive valet parking. I used the public parking just in front of the hotel and paid less than of the amount the hotel was charging
Review 28:Very good location. Nice rooms Beautiful old building
Review 29:Older outdated decorations not quite as luxurious as advertised even with the suite, pretty spend for what you get out of it.
Review 30:Close to old market and zoo, Great staff, amazing complimentary breakfast buffet.
Review 31:Rooms not very sound proof we heard everyone in the halls and the rooms around us.
Review 32:The staff was awesome from the front desk to bar staff and valet/drivers. Everyone we came in contact with was extremely helpful and very nice!
Review 33:Loved the historic atmosphere. Didn't even realize when booking they offer a happy hour every evening for guests with free wine/beer and mild and cookies before bedtime. Room and bathroom was clean, updated and perfectly met our needs. We will be back.
Review 34:We were traveling with out dog and our room was a little small. But- we were barely in our room- so it wasn't really an issue.
Review 35:The staff was friendly. We ate in the bar and the food was great. The front desk staff recommended a steak house that was incredible (801 Chophouse). They then arranged transportation for us to go to a casino. Great staff, clean hotel.
Review 36:Not very clean TV's volume didn't work at all and we weren't told how to get complimentary breakfast the next morning :(
Review 37:Beautiful rooms Excellent service: valet asked us why we were there, and upon hearing it was our anniversary (we had our reception at the Magnolia), comped us valet parking and sent wine to our room!
Review 38:small room, apparently recent local flooding (a month ago) caused small bugs to be coming up shower drain, on the fourth floor. It was creepy. They did spray it with something that killed those at drain, but new ones came up in morning, and some were still alive on shower curtain and in room.
Review 39:beautiful building
Review 40:Hotel rooms dirty, very small. We were not greeted on streets hen arrived from airpirt and had to carry our own luggage in hotel. They ran out of breakfast
Review 41:Location was in walking distance to downtown and baseball field. Historic building
Review 42:The queen room we booked didn't have a refrigerator, which confused me. (The king-sized one did). We had significant problems with the internet being really slow.
Review 43:Nice rooms, great staff, delicious cookies with free coffee and milk. Beautiful building near a grocery store and the Old Market. I loved the lounge in the front and the courtyard.
Review 44:The bed was so horrible that my back will need a chiropractor to fix it. Walls paper thin. Could hear people urinate and have sex all night.
Review 45:The building was beautiful and the location was great
Review 46:The hotel's hiking the room prices VERY high during College World Series.

Review 88:Check in was very slow Elevators seemed to crawl
Review 89:Best hotel fitness facilities I've ever seen Great cookies in bar area Comfortable rooms
Review 90:The rooms air con system was overly loud/broken and $17 a night for parking is ridiculous
Review 91:Doors were not sound proof. A lot of noise from adjoining rooms.
Review 92:Room door did not secure when exiting and was left ajar on two occasions, the a/c unit was noisy which kept us awake for a portion of our second night's stay. Both items were reported to the front desk.
Review 93:False advertizing. I searched for romantic getaway. It was neither romantic nor a getaway. It was just another hotel. Probably could have stayed elsewhere for a lower price.
Review 94:My wife liked the character of the older hotel. She liked the history behind it.
Review 95:I can't think of anything
Review 96:we stayed in the king suite. was updated but the charm of the landmark building was still intact. staff was extremely helpful and pleasant. got to the hotel too late for happy hour ,, was told about the cookies but enjoyed just sitting in the room relaxing.. we slept too late for breakfast.. but all in all would stay there again.

Review 98:Room was clean, quiet and had an elegant touch. Wonderful waitress at the bar! Wonderful extras - drinks, cookies & milk bar, breakfast!
Review 99:The $50.00 fee for bringing a dog!
Review 100:Historic building, wonderfully refinished. Free breakfast, drinks, and milk and cookies! Staff is first-rate, facilities are top-notch. The hotel is within easy walking distance to shops and restaurants in the Old Market.
Review 101:Need a little more creativity for breakfast. Tho tasty, most offerings are processed foods or packaged items.
Review 102:Don't let the young staff fool you. They are experts at making guests feel welcome. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and make one feel they are truly on vacation, even if traveling for business!
Review 103:The handles on the sliding bathroom door did not allow the door to beclosed properly from the inside...a problem when needing privacy. Thecost of the valet parking was a bit high.
Review 104:Breakfast was great. There was a warm feeling of vintage mixed withmodern amenities. The entire staff was very helpful with "non-hotel" information that made a huge difference in what we needed toaccomplish in Omaha.
Review 105:Bar of soap in bathroom for washing hands. No dish to set it in. Had to use a lid from a coffee cu. prefer soap from a pump.
Review 106:Cocktail hour, cookie bar, free breakfast, bed was comfy, location was good!
Review 107:Hotel staff were top notch, very helpful and friendly. Location was within walking distance of the Orpheum Theatre and the Old Market district. Perfect for our overnight girls trip to see a show!
Review 108:The location close within walking distance to the Old Market area; free shuttle; nice complementary breakfast buffet with some different items both days; delicious cookies between 8-10 PM. Unfortunately, the 4 different evenings we've been there, we haven't been able to enjoy the complementary wine.
Review 109:minor point-- the step down to get out of the shower was awkward-- almost dangerous!
Review 110:The staff could not have been nicer. The location was great. The hotel was charming and the complimentary breakfast, happy hour, and late night cookies were all wonderful
Review 111:Breakfast eggs were tough and rubbery. Also waffle mix barely made a waffle that held together without empty spaces.
Review 112:Very nice to have happy hour and to include my grandchild as well. It would have been nice to also have some nuts or chips... My grandchild loved the cookies and milk each night.
Review 113:Could barely sleep because right in the middle of downtown. Lots ofloud people coming out of the bars. Room was expensive enough, had topay another $15 just to park. Room was pretty small. Doesn't evenhave free hbo.
Review 114:Breakfast buffet.
Review 115:The block that it's on looks bleak when first pulling up. I think the neighborhood is developing, though, and it will probably look better 5 years from now. However, the hotel itself looks great and 3 blocks away is a lovely area with shopping and restaurants.
Review 116:Clean rooms, within 3 blocks of excellent restaurants and shopping, nice staff, comfy bed, high ceilings, spacious rooms, milk and cookies from 8-10pm.
Review 117:I stayed at the hotel because of its convenience to the Orpheum Theatre. I was pleased with everything, especially being able to walk to old downtown. Thanks for a great visit. It also enhanced my stay when I learned that Il Divo stayed there also.
