Reviews for Heidi Motel - Helen
Review 1:There was some hair on the bathroom floor. Otherwise everything was clean.
Review 2:This was a great location. The hotel itself had a lot of character and friendly staff who helped us check in. The room was comfortable and spacious.
Review 3:I felt it was way overpriced. I expected some lavish room for what I paid but it was not. It was adequate but nothing beyond that. I won't choose this location again again because of the pricing.
Review 4:Location is close to town but driveway is steep, Not a fun walk up it for an older couple.
Review 5:Mattresses worn out, Pillows old with no support, coffee pot dirty, a plastic cup had no protective wrapping, bathroom towel dirty with lipstick marks on it, TV had poor reception then died in the middle of movie that night and still not working when we left the next morning. Told management, said they would notify owner, never heard from them or was offered some type of compensation, typical tourist trap that makes it on location and doesn't have to appease a dissatisfied client.
Review 6:Location
Review 7:Not enough plugs. We were three people with laptops and phones, all of which needed charging and only two plugs available; none of which were near the beds. No lamp on the nightstand and no phone to call the office. Also, while we were there the toilet stopped working and they failed to correct it. We made sure to use the restrooms in the public areas of the town or at the restaurants. It was very uncomfortable in that way.
Review 8:The exterior was very cute, very in keeping with the atmosphere of Helen. The staff was friendly and very polite. Beds were comfy.
Review 9:This not a complaint, just a wish that the ingress and egress onto the property didn't feel so rushed and tight. This is a minor observation and not a deal breaker.
Review 10:The quaint, romantic atmosphere will make you tell yourself that you would definitely return to this place for another visit.
Review 11:There was a plumbing problem, but the staff were great about trying to correct it and on the second night, moved us to another room.
Review 12:Staff was very accommodating. Location is excellent.
Review 13:I didn't think the bathroom was a clean as I would have liked, and I saw a living, crawling roach in the bedroom. There were no electrical outlets that could be used with a CPAP machine. Also, a false fingernail was on the floor, a poor vacuuming job.
Review 14:The facility is unique in appearance and that makes it interesting.
Review 15:well, if you're looking for luxury. this is not it. no amenities. the doors are on the outside. I liked it and would stay there again.
Review 16:perfect location. we walked everywhere. the room was clean. the staff was great- we received extra towels without asking.
Review 17:When we checked in we were in a basic room the power didn't work ,the only power was the bathroom, the air condition refrigerator, tvlights did not work . My husband went to the front office and said itwould be on in maybe an hour ? Do I went down there 5 minutes later andtold them I wanted a refund they made a call and said no refunds I wasnot a happy guest I told the lady no way are we staying here with theseissues, I said its not our fault she said it wasn't there'seither. So 3 phone calls later they finally up graded us to the kingsuite with a hot tub and fire place oh by the way the hit tub heaterthey said did not work. This was our 25 Anniversary I just wish theywould of settled with giving us our money back our upgrading us, not therun around. Oh by the way all the power was not fully restored.
Review 18:We were finally upgraded to the king suite with a hot tub but the Hesterdidn't work. The dtay was really nice we really enjoyed the veryspacious room very comfortable.
Review 19:Nothing. Helen I'd a beautiful place...especially in the fall.
Review 20:Close to downtown Helen. Walking distance and across the street from the best grocery market I have ever seen. An old country store with homemade items. Have to see it!
Review 21:Not a bad experience but the price was a bit high for the facility; however it was during Oktoberfest and I understand the increased costs of all lodging during peak times.
Review 22:Nice location and convenient to the events and the activities.
Review 23:This hotel was amazing. Our room was clean, great view, and beautiful. The staff was unlike any staff I have stayed with. We had some motocycle issues and they took their personal time and helped us with the bike. They got us tools, gave us a jump ( no less then 3 times) helped us get back off site, and more. This level of customer service just does not exist in today's day and age.
Review 24:No service except for wifi but wouldnt work part of time no cleaning & we had to go get our towels
Review 25:hotel had the German look & it was on Main Street
Review 26:Breakfast not available at the hotel or included in the price. Restaurants across the street were open for breakfast.
Review 27:Fun location, in the heart of the town. Easy walking distance to everything.
Review 28:Needed to replace bulbs and cover out of use switches. These are petty but thought I would mention them
Review 29:Large room plenty of room u didn't feel cramped.market across street. A bakery across the street, sweets are too good, and German coffee from there that is the best. Staff was real nice , pretty flowers by the windmill rooms.
Review 30:They staff was extremely helpful and courteous. The hot tub was romantic and relaxing. The room was cozy. Would definitely return for another stay. Great accommodation for the price!
Review 31:The steep hill in the front of the property was unexpected and was tough when walking back from town; would have been nice to have some vending available; wouldn't consider property to be wheelchair accessible
Review 32:Location was great; room was nice and comfortable; property was quiet
Review 33:The room was very plain. No art over beds; no lamp; no phone. But it was clean and comfortable!
Review 34:The room was clean! The bed was super comfortable and pillows were wonderful! I will definitely return!
Review 35:I used to be a motel housekeeper when I was young so I feel free to say that the daily service was poor. I was there for 4 nights & on the last night I never even got any clean towels till 230pm, no vacuuming, bed making or trash pick up on any of those days I was there.
Review 36:location, room was clean
Review 37:The bed was a little uncomfortable but it won't stop us from staying here in the future
Review 38:The staff was GREAT, very helpful! The room was clean, just like in the pictures. Right in the middle of town so all the shopping and most restaurants were within walking distance. We will absolutely stay here again!!!
Review 39:Walked in the room and the first thing we saw was a big stain on the carpet, looking further, stains on the seat of the chairs around the table. Sat on the edge of the bed and it squeaked!! No hanger, clogged sink-need I say more!!!
Review 40:Location, cute from the outside
Review 41:Nothing
Review 42:I asked for a certain room because it was our honeymoon and they couldn't give it to us the first night but they held it for us the second night
Review 43:Not sure our air conditioner worked properly and there was an issue with the bed.
Review 44:Location was great. This was not your typical hotel, more like a little German cottage. Staff was extremely helpful and friendly.
Review 45:Bed came loose and fell in on what seemed to be a base with poor design. And while it is of course a personal preference, mattress was WAY too soft.
Review 46:Location is great - walking distance to all of downtown Helen, with grocery and package store right across the street.
Review 47:Ice kept in the office. No maid service witnessed. No phone in room. Faucet wanted to come through the wall. Not modernized. No eating facilities.
Review 48:Location what the only part of the stay worthwhile
Review 49:I wish we would have had more warning about the hot tub not working .. And then when we got to the room the fireplace didn't work .. Those two things were the highlight of the room and the reason I booked it
Review 50:The room was really nice and clean ..
Review 51:The woman who checked us in was not particularly friendly or helpful. She neglected to tell us about the wi-fi code, or that ice must be obtained from the office (I spent several minutes trying to find an ice machine). There was no tissues in the box and no mat for the bathroom floor. The next morning, the owner/manager was in the office. She was friendly and helpful and quickly remedied our issues..
Review 52:The motel is so cute on the outside, but the room is nothing special. It is old and needs updating. The carpet is worn, the walls are a little dingy, but it was clean and the bed was comfortable. It was quiet all night.
Review 53:Our "Private mountain view patio" was right next to the parking lot, not so private, but ok mountain view. Furniture is outdated, but it's ok.
Review 54:Cute hotel, very clean, great location. We were happy with our stay, all things considered.
Review 55:One of the mattresses was very uncomfortable. Needs replacing.
Review 56:Having a refrigerator and microwave. No pets. No smoking. Clean. Convenient to restaurants for supper and breakfast.
Review 57:The beds popped and squeaked every time you moved in the bed.
Review 58:The Hotel was with in walking distance to everything. Especially to Hofers German Resturant and Deli,
Review 59:No housekeeping services except clean towels and trash removal. No sink or tub cleaning, vacuuming for a 3-night stay. Toilet paper not placed on dispenser and no Kleenex in room. No telephone in room.
Review 60:Room set up very poorly. No power outlets on bed side of room. My husband and I both sleep with CPAP machines. We had to run an extension cord across the room and sleep with our heads at the foot of the bed. Bed was made for us on first day (Monday morning) but that's all that was done. Trash not emptied. Second day nothing was touched at all by housekeeping. Dropped off clean towels and that was all. No phones in the room. Bath mat and shower curtains need replaced.
Review 61:i normally stay at Hilton and Marriot properties. i can honestly say that this is the first place i have ever stayed that did not have a bedside lamp. i was told by front desk no lamps available. i had to go to store and buy one. on check out i told them i was donating it to motel for the next guest. it was only a $10 lamp so no big deal.
Review 62:at least it was quite. nice TV system and room was clean.
Review 63:I only have 1 complaint.. And its not heidi's FAULT..Booking.comreservation only said 2 adults did not count our teenager(cause childrenstay for free) So our room only had 1 bed and unfortunately that 1 bedis in dire need to be put to REST..It is well past its youth..
Review 64:The staff really made us feel like friends instead of strangers andwere super nice! Most of the Helen civilians u could tell were tired ofthe tourist but at "HEIDI" we felt at home and the rooms werevery clean!!
Review 65:facility was old. renovations were needed. electricity was a problem....lights in ceiling fan did not work. maintenance alerted, but not fixed during our stay. exhaust fan in bathroom and lights seemed to be cross-wired...fan switch worked the light and light switch worked both the fan and light. hot tub was dirty---sediment in water and grime in bottom of tub - we did not use. Room which was empty all day long was not cleaned. maids arrived at door around 4:30pm after our return, at that point we exchanged towels and emptied garbage can
Review 66:Location was the best aspect of the hotel.
Review 67:I Forgot to ask wifi code if any. Room a bit musty due to air not onbefore arrival but ok once sir was on high.
Review 68:Great location, price, bed, tv, free parking, proximity to shops, marketacross street, bakery, quaint architecture outside.
Review 69:They did not serve breakfast, but there was a nearby German bakery that had very good breakfasts.
Review 70:The lady just started managing the hotel a few weeks before. She is very nice and helpful. Even took a photo of us in front of the wind mill. The inn is built looking bavarian, with real flowers along the balconey. And has a nice view, and walking distance to all the cute shops.
Review 71:The worst motel I've ever been too. Don't waste your money!!!To whom it may concern, We were never looking for a refund, in fact we walked out without a service that was never rendered, but still paid. There was a screaming child in the lobby that was unattended to and a man sitting in a recliner without a shirt on and did not help in any capacity. There was no professionalism or decorum. Their claims of the rooms being justifiably decent are said without merit. We have absolutely no reason to lie and we paid to prove our honesty.
Review 72:nothing, rotten old hotel!!! with old pipes and mildew
Review 73:I have recently decided to go back to school in order to further my education. I have to access the internet multiole times a week for my classes. My plan was to work at night after putting the kods to bed. The website stated there would be WiFi available at the hotel. The WiFi would not connect and when the staff was consulted about this, they said they would reset it. They also said if that did not fix the issue there is nothing else they can do. This was pretty frustrating due to the fact that one of the key factors in choosing our hotel was the WiFi capability a day there seemed to be a lack of concern regarding our need for it..
Review 74:The location was good in relation to downtown but the very, very steep entrance to the hotel was a bit much for the little ones.
Review 75:Unfortunately, Booking.com had the king suite with hot tub listed as 2 person + 1. The picture showed a king bed and love seat. The staff told me that all of their king suites are only for 2 persons. With 2 small kids and my mother with me, we had a dilemma on our hands when the hot tub was flooded accidentally by staff.
Review 76:The location was perfect: right on Main Street and close to everything. Plus, the quirkiness of the decor was just fun. After an incident with the hot tub, the staff was super accommodating.
Review 77:No ice machine, I also don't like that the cleaning staff leaving an envelope for tips. Their pay should be included as part of the price of the hotel and guests should not be made to feel like they need to fork out more money for a service that should be part of hotel price.
Review 78:Very cute hotel, comfortable bed.
Review 79:The staff was really helpful in making this a special few days for me and my wife. Great place, not the most up to date, but really nice none the less. We will stay here again!
Review 80:The internet was messed up the whole time so we had no WiFi connection at all. But staff did try to restart and even called their provider to come out and figure out what was going on.
Review 81:Room was nice and big,bed was very comfortable, great location to downtown.
Review 82:Could use a new mattress
Review 83:Very clean and nice place to stay. It is in a great location with lots of places to eat and shop. Within walking distance from downtown Helen.
Review 84:Had to go ask for toilet paper as there was none on the roll. I was with my 86 year old mother that they saw at check-in and they put us on the top floor. It would have been easier for her to have been on the ground floor.
Review 85:It was a good deal for the money. Room was clean and there was a coffee pot.
Review 86:Several items...Front door of room had chewing tobacco that looked like it had been there for quite a while. They did renovations...but left a lot to be said. Maid service was only one night...we stayed two.. Only the dead lock worked...not the door lock. Had to go to the office to get ice...no machine. No breakfast items.
Review 87:Very convenient to downtown....nice view. beds were comfortable.
Review 88:Lady who checked us in was not very friendly. And the room wasn't anywhere near as nice as I had expected. I don't plan to ever stay there again.
Review 89:Walking distance to "some" of the shops/restaurants.
Review 90:The only negative thing I would say is that the wi-fi in the hotel room was not very dependable.
Review 91:The location was perfect and walkable to downtown Helen! The room was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed during our stay.
Review 92:Would be a stretch to say there was anything that stood out bad. We did not check to see if there was a breakfast, but that was no big deal since we were wanting to eat at several restaurants in the area.
Review 93:Location was great. Staff was very pleasant and accommodating. Room was very clean. Good view from the second floor.
Review 94:nothing could be said bad about this place or its owners will return
Review 95:The quiet location and the family owned atmosphere. The rooms were super clean and what ever we needed they supplied pronto
Review 96:There was nothing that I really didn't like.
Review 97:I loved the location . There was a store right across from the hotel and you could walk tdowntown in 2 min.
Review 98:We asked for extra towels when we made reservations.. after we arrived.. and the next day but never got EXTRA towels. We walked a LOT and showers with fresh towels would have been nice. Also there were dirty ashtrays outside our room on the balcony. Yuk.
Review 99:The location was convenient.. right at the beginning of the strip. The bed was the MOST comfortabe bed we had ever slept in!
Review 100:When we checked in the girl at the desk forgot to give me back my DL and credit card. I dug through my purse and pockets looking for them. When I went back to office she still had them.
Review 101:How close to town. Easy walk, even when dressed up for dinner. Also, how clean the rooms where
Review 102:Our first night, we were given the wrong room. We easily were switched to the room we had booked. We went walking around the area and when we came back, someone had unlocked our door. We stayed the night, but left the next morning and were refused a refund. I did not like the mattress (too soft for me) and there were peanut shells on the floor of the rooms. Also, I thought the hotel was non-smoking but several of the rooms had ash trays on the outside window sills.
Review 103:Proximity to town
Review 104:I did not like that some of the features in the Jacuzzi did not work but ultimately it was a minor complaint.
Review 105:I liked the Jacuzzi and the rustic cabin feel of the hotel room and the gas fireplace. The staff of the hotel was also top notch and extremely friendly and courteous.
Review 106:the only thing that was inconvenient was the large hill you have to walk up to get to the motel several times a day. but it's a good workout so can't complain too much! :)
Review 107:our room was cozy and we loved the hot tub and the staff was very friendly.
Review 108:The staff needs to dress more professional, the room rate needs to be better for what you get. We asked for ice to be brought to the room after the manager offered and never got any. We also asked to switch to a better room when one became available and was told we would have to pay another $100. I was half expecting a discount on that since we were already there and was wanting to stay another night. We ended up leaving.
Review 109:The room was very clean and a convenient location.
Review 110:Wifi didn't reach our room and password was incorrect but stay was very nice! Price was a little steep but it was Valentines Day weekend so...
Review 111:Room was nice everything clean
Review 112:The staff needs to be informed about the town events and places to visit. Need information ;booklets about what is offered in the town for pleasure.
Review 113:The location was good
Review 114:Our "hot tub" didn't go above 83 degrees. It was freezing.I could feel most of the springs in the bed. We went on a Monday duringoff season and everything was closed. Monday - Thursday expect HuddleHouse. I feel the trip was wasted because we could have done all that wedid, at home. To top it off I was charged $137 for the 1 night. We were1 of 2 rooms used. I wish I would have known everything was closed and Idefinitely don't think I should have paid full price.
Review 115:The location was excellent and the gas fireplace was nice too.
Review 116:We had to get help from the office because the wi-fi did not automatically come up, but they were very helpful and resolved the issue right away. Would definitely stay here again.
Review 117:Best location in town and is fitting with the atmosphere of the town. We stayed in the hot tub room and were able to have a much needed, relaxing stay.
Review 118:"Mountain view" was outrageous false advertising. The "mountain" in question was a small hill, viewed from the very public (exposed to passersby) front window of the room, across the parking lot prominently in the foreground.
Review 119:Rooms were spacious, plain but clean. Staff very friendly. Location good.
Review 120:Arrived early (1pm) after driving 20 hrs - staff would allow no flexibility for check in. Advised early check-in if paid extra 50% fee. Unfriendly in general. Room not clean - peanuts and candy on floor.
Review 121:location
Review 122:I couldnt stay longer!
Review 123:Although it rained everyday we were there the Heidi was a nice place to stay for the price. The room and beds were clean and smelled clean. The check in was quick and easy. Its location makes it an easy walk to most of the shops and there is a country store right across the street that sells everything you would need. When we come back again we will definately be staying at the Heidi!!!
Review 124:Room was upstairs, without an elevator, but only a problem if you bring a lot of luggage.
Review 125:Excellent location, really enjoyed our stay... We will be back here for Octoberfest
Review 126:Wi-fi was weak and spotty. Curtains on windows were so thin you couldsee through them. Employees did not know much about the coummunity orwhat was going on in the community during stay nor was there muchliterature in lobby that would direct visitors.
Review 127:Room was not cleaned the first day we were there. could us a small hot plate for cooking if guest wanted to cook small things like eggs or toaster for toast or bagles.
Review 128:The staff wad nice and frindly, room was cute and comfortable. love being able to walk everywhere in town.staying in the windmill was fun could see a long distance from window.
Review 129:Spent two nights, no one made the bed on Christmas Day. I know it was a holiday, but if was expecting when we got back to the room the would be clean & Tidy.
Review 130:Room was fairly clean, mattress was very comfortable. Had a small refrigerator and Microwave.
Review 131:The room needed to be vaccumed and we had to step over vomit on the walkway to the stairs all 3 days of our stay. We reported it twice, but no one cleaned it up, even though we knew the housekeeper had to step over it to service our room while we were out. The Manager acted shocked that it was not cleaned up when we checked out.
Review 132:We enjoyed the quiet room and comfortable accommodations.
Review 133:There was only two electric outlets in the room and we needed one by the head of the bed.
Review 134:We were walking distance from most shops and the shop owners were very helpful. We would stay there again!!!!!
Review 135:I was on a upper floor so,naturally I had to climb stairs. I could not get the heat adjusted correctly during the night, so that was probably some my fault. The motel is on a hill, so it was a good climb going back up.
Review 136:I liked that it was just minutes to everything in town. Very clean, roomy, and a good view. The price that I paid was very reasonable.
Review 137:Helen is a beautiful town and Heidi is right in the middle of it. I loved that I could walk from the hotel to the town, shop and just a short walk back to the room. The hotel has a very "at home" feeling about it. Not just the room, but the whole "feeling" you get while there. The staff is very friendly and we plan on staying there again this summer.
Review 138:The room cleaning staff was substandard. We stayed there four nights, and received less than two days of cleaning. The office had to send someone to bring us fresh bathroom linen and empty the trash on the second morning, and on the third morning all she did was bring fresh bathroom linen and empty the waste baskets. The toilet paper ran very low, but wasn't replaced. There was nowhere comfortable to sit.
Review 139:Office staff was efficient and very helpful, offering suggestions on what there was to do and see in Helen. The beds were comfortable, there was good pressure in the shower, the television was very nice, and the hotel was close to downtown activities and restaurants.
Review 140:No AC outlet near the bed poor lighting,2 small towels are not enough. extremely steep driveway in the event of snow or ice makes it impossible to get out safely.motels was interesting in a creepy way kinda like Bates motel.we thought it was overpriced but then again we thought Helen Georgia was a cheesy tourist attraction.
Review 141:Windmill was interesting.
Review 142:Mattress on the bed was too soft for our comfort.
Review 143:Wonderful suite room, private walled patio, living room with fireplace. nice sized bedroom, sparkling clean bathroom. microwave, fridge, coffee maker, dining table and chairs. Nice mountain views. And the staff made us feel so very welcome.
