Reviews for New Victorian Inn & Suites Omaha

Review 1:The only reason I reserved was because it stated online that hotel wasrenovation. Not the case at all and very misleading. Only sink replacedand counter, most everything else was old or cracked. Additionally, there were milk stains on the furniture, carpet was lumpy, pillows werelumpy, sheets scratchy. No compensation was offered.

Review 2:Location

Review 3:I was an exhausted, 24 year old girl traveling across the country by myself for thanksgiving. Right when I checked in both the front desk and operations manager made me feel so nice and safe. Some embarrassing things happened and I was trying to do a ton of things at once when the man said "just get some rest. We will take care of it". He has no idea how much that meant to me as I felt like I was going to pass out on the floor right in front of him after driving 10 hours that day. Thank you.

Review 4:Liked everything

Review 5:I talked to 2 persons at front desk One when I checked in and one the next morning. Very very nice, kind and friendly and knowledge was great I really liked my stay Thanks again

Review 6:Seemed like there were a few regular people who had priority over us.

Review 7:It was close to where we were needed. Also loved having a king size bed instead of a full.

Review 8:With three adults in the room, there wasn't a lot of space to move around in, or places to be other than the bed. Didn't see any protein at the breakfast counter. Some hard-boiled eggs, at least, would have bee nice.

Review 9:The facilities were adequate. We were comfortable, the room temperature was easy to regulate, the bed was comfortable, the staff courteous and competent.

Review 10:Friendly staff, wide variety of choices for breakfast including three kinds of fruit. Super clean bathroom, comfortable bed and room amentities geared toward a business traveler.

Review 11:House keeping dropped the ball on our second day. The do not disturb was on the door while we were having breakfast. Then we took it off when we went out. Came back to find room unmade and trash still in cans, towels unchanged.

Review 12:Front desk staff were wonderful!!! Helpful when I needed help. Just visiting with me every once In Awhile

Review 13:Stool in bathroom would stick and not shut off, also little black ants. Reported to front desk when I checked out. Would recommend this facility . Jack

Review 14:had a little trouble with getting the room cool but was moved to a new room immediately.

Review 15:Perfect for a quick stay. Had extra ports for electronics, big refrigerator, microwave. The bathroom was a perfect for a family.

Review 16:There is nothing that I didn'the like.

Review 17:The property is very well maintained; staff is friendly & helpful; conveniently located to shopping and restaurant.

Review 18:We had expected a jacuzzi tub in the bathroom as seen in pics.

Review 19:I loved the breakfast accomadations, the beds were comfy and the staff was positive and helpful.

Review 20:The air conditioner rattled so loudly that we had to place our luggage bag against it so that we could sleep. We didn't go to the front desk about it that night because we were so exhausted from a full day but it was certainly an issue as it was too warm to not have it on at all. The breakfast was also disappointing. The milk ran out and the staff was very slow to fill it again despite multiple notifications from various guests that it was empty. The waffle batter also ran out and was not refilled while we were there at all. They had biscuits and gravy but the biscuits were like dense crumbly pucks!

Review 21:The staff was so friendly! We enjoyed the commodities included in our room including the fridge, microwave, and the large screen TV. The room was very clean. Overall we were mostly happy with our stay.

Review 22:The room was pretty small for 4 adults and the walls seemed pretty thin as we could hear the rooms next to us and the elevator doors opening a few walls away. The air conditioner was loud and woke my husband up so often that he turned it off.

Review 23:The refrigerator and microwave were nice, as were the tables to put our stuff on. The beds were soft but most of our party slept well on them. There were more than adequate plug ins for our electronics.

Review 24:A/C didn't really cool down the room at all.

Review 25:Right off the highway, close to restaurants, whole foods, and a nice neighborhood. Very clean and comfortable.

Review 26:The pool is an outside pool. I wish they had an indoor pool with a whirlpool. That would make it absolutely perfect! It would be nice to have fresh coffee available 24 hours.

Review 27:Everyone is extremely friendly and helpful. The location is very close to our children. We frequently get a Whirlpool room. Close to I-80 / 680 entrance and exit. Great shopping nearby.

Review 28:We stayed room 208,my husband and myself woke up with our backs hurting so bad neither one of us could hardly get out of bed.The mattress was awful we hurt all nite.

Review 29:Other then the bed closes to the door in room 208 we enjoyed the stay,it was very quite

Review 30:The main thing we didn't like was eating with plastic utensils at breakfast which bent and were practically unusable. Hated eating out of styrofoam, too.

Review 31:The guy at the front desk was terrific, really helpful.

Review 32:Smokers gather outside the main entrance. Smoking area should be relocated and kept cleaner.

Review 33:It is a very clean hotel with courteous, friendly, and helpful staff. The rooms are big enough to be comfortable.

Review 34:The air conditioner was super loud and kept me up all night. Also, there were signs on our floor that said "ice/vending this way." We followed the sign and there was nothing. Frustrating!!!

Review 35:The staff was fine.

Review 36:Breakfast was pretty basic. Overall the area was very clean.

Review 37:Easy to get to and a friendly staff. The rooms were clean and the hallways smelled fresh and welcoming

Review 38:The only two qualms I had were the pillows and the water pressure. The pillows are very thin. You could stack two of them to make a proper one. And the water pressure in the shower is kind of lackluster, at least on the third floor.

Review 39:Great bang for the buck! The staff was incredibly friendly and the hotel had spacious, clean rooms. The bed was quite comfy- leaning on the soft side for those who prefer that. No problems with internet speeds, either.

Review 40:I can't say there was anything we disliked. The only inconvenience was that we had to request pool towels at the front desk.

Review 41:Staff was nice and helpful. Breakfast hours were longer than most hotels so there was no rush or lack of food.

Review 42:The pool hours weren't conducive for a business person (someone who needs to work out either very early or very late). Also the luggage trolleys were lame.

Review 43:The staff was exceptional. The bed, room and bathroom were all very comfortable.

Review 44:Excellent front desk staff - very helpful guiding us to Gluten Free Restaurant - even phoned to make reservations for us - recommend Cheedars down the road for meals. Room was spacious - came with fridge and microwave - very comfortable - enjoyed our short stay

Review 45:Check-in took 15 minutes and charge was $30 more (for 2 nights) than internet booking showed -- was later resolved, but took another 15 minutes. Assigned room had not been cleaned (had to wait 20 minutes). TV did not work (was replaced about an hour after reporting). Next-door room had a barking dog.

Review 46:The room had a microwave/refrigerator and was clean. The breakfast selections were good; the breakfast room was large, and the scheduled time was great.

Review 47:The fitness center was rather a very small fitness room.

Review 48:The breakfast buffet was served til 11 am which was very convenient for our schedule. The outdoor pool was never crowed during our use.

Review 49:Not a bad experience, but as an older couple, the greeting (people hanging out) in front of the Hotel made us wonder about our safety at first. But then once inside all fears vanished.

Review 50:Pleasant Hotel, good breakfast and a value for what we paid.

Review 51:The hotel had just gotten an upgrades cable system installed, but the TV in my room missed the installation. They moved me to another room immediately.

Review 52:Location, although convenient, is in an industrial area.

Review 53:The staff were exceptionally friendly and helped us to find a great location for the Fourth of July fireworks

Review 54:The location is a little odd to get to. However, it is located close to all the things we wanted to see/do, but far enough away that it was quiet. They offer coffee all day, and it was really good. We also liked that the continental breakfast was offered until 11 am. This was great because we are late risers. The staff were all very friendly and knowledgeable. We stayed in the King deluxe suite and were impressed with the layout. There was a sleeper couch that when opened up still allowed space to move in the room. It was the perfect hotel for our quick getaway.

Review 55:Some clearly lacking quality in the workmanship in some of the repairs or renovations that have been done. Pool area seedy seeming and not very clean. Gummy caulking covering holes, ragged wallpaper at the bottom of the wall, no closet. A little cramped for space.

Review 56:Breakfast - even though a little more variety couldn't hurt such as sausage patties or links. Comfortable. Staff was excellent.

Review 57:Staff was very helpful. Check in was very efficient and the room was clean and quiet. We didn't eat breakfast until10:45 but there was plenty of a selection of waffles, juice, boiled eggs. Cold cereal. Yogurt. Muffins, oatmeal packets, and fruit. The bed was a little hard but our overall stay was comfortable, pleasant and we loved easy access from the freeway!

Review 58:The room was great and the price was prefect for what we got. We would definatly stay at the New Victorian Inn & Suites Omaha again if we ever head that way again.

Review 59:The hotel had an interesting odor as we walked down the hall.

Review 60:The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and the price affordable. It was a nice touch to have ice water available in the lobby.

Review 61:No Indoor Pool or Hot Tub, Small crowded entryway/breakfast area, No Ice Machine or Vending on our floor (there was a pop machine), Overall a clean operation, but there was dirt/mold on the top rail of our shower surround.

Review 62:Reasonably Priced. Comfortable Bed. Overall a well cared for facility. Not one of the top hotels in Omaha as the rating would seem to indicate, but good for the price.

Review 63:Even though the property is right across the street from the State Patrol office, the area felt a little sketchy.

Review 64:Very convenient access to the Interstate, decent size room, very nice staff.

Review 65:We had hoped it would be a little closer in distance to the Omaha Henry Doorly Zoo! We did not expect there to be as much for construction and detours as there was, which made the drive even longer in the busy Omaha traffic! However, it wasn't a bad location to stay at!

Review 66:Both the security and cleanliness of this hotel were comforting and inviting factors. The location of the building, and the building itself, allowed for a quiet and peaceful setup. The price was perfect for the quality!

Review 67:Difficult time sleeping due to the loud air-condition unit going on and off. Carpet in room was suspect, no venting for bathroom.

Review 68:Room was fair for a one night stay.

Review 69:Had plenty of places to eat around the area and very close to theinterstate. Also was not a far drive to other areas of interest andwhere we needed to go. Rooms are a little dated and the television wasnot hd and had poor reception. Air conditioning needed upgraded, bedscould be upgraded as well. Did not use the pool or exercise facilities, but all in all its not a bad hotel to stay in for the price.

Review 70:A/C made loud "clunk" when it kicked on. I had to turn it off during the night, as it would wake me up.

Review 71:Very courteous check-in. Large room, and comfortable bed. Good shower. Evidence of recent upgrades. This was a much-needed & refreshing overnight, driving from SF to Chicago.

Review 72:No closet space, iron and board hung right in sitting area? When you walk into hotel, large signs on outside say "no cash accepted, credit cards only." Made me wonder just a bit if the place was safe but they indicated it was to cover damages more than anything else.

Review 73:Good facilities, friendly staff, nice breakfast equivalent to Hampton or Holiday Inn Express.

Review 74:We did not have anything bad.

Review 75:We attended the Antique Roadshow. The hotel location was very good. We had a nice room at a reasonable price. It was easy to get downtown. The coffee was good and there were several options for breakfast and each was good.

Review 76:Whole place needs updating. Musty smell in lobby. Nice pool but not attractive setting. Needs more tables, greenery etc. No jacuzzi.

Review 77:Staff was extremely nice

Review 78:The lobby & halls are a bit dated! I wouldnt let that deter you from staying though as the rooms are updated & amazingly clean!

Review 79:Room is updated & immaculate! King size bed was amazing, slept like a rock. Staff is very helpful, even helped my husband find the perfect place for his truck & trailer.

Review 80:People can see the room from the outside. So we did not open the curtains widely. Breakfast can improve.

Review 81:We were driving from NYC to NM and we decided to make a stop there. It was very nice, we had a very good rest. Everything looked very clean. Comfy bed, wide room. Little bit expensive. But everything was good.

Review 82:Besides above, there is nothing walkable from the site. Not a pleasant neighborhood.

Review 83:I was in town for the Berkshire meeting and this was one of the few value sites left when I booked 6 months out. Staff was nice but facilities dated. Odd room layout with no closet or cubby for luggage. Dark, heavy furniture also very dated.

Review 84:The complimentery breakfast was well above average and available until 11:00 am. When I checked in at 1:00 am the manager turned on the juice machine for me and let me enjoy juice, fruit, & muffins for a late nite snack!

Review 85:The bed was way too soft and uncomfortable. The hotel is not nearly as modern inside as the photos on the website would lead you to believe.

Review 86:The hotel was clean and the staff very helpful and personable.

Review 87:Building showing its age inside and out. Some touch up work needed. Air conditioner too noisy to run at night (room 322).

Review 88:In room fridge and micro-wave, fresh fruit with breakfast. Good location.

Review 89:Room 110 had holes in the carpet, bedspread had red stains on it and the register for heat and cooling was rusted and made loud noises all night when it turn on! Also, a very musty smell to the room! Room cost was $165 a night outrageous and did not match the reviews I read on line about the group that started this facility and how amazing I thought the facility would be! I was very disappoint with my stay!

Review 90:Close to the volleyball tournament we were attending!

Review 91:Bedfast was average with two much bisquet gravy and not enough other hot food. No meat or hot eggs. No 10800 number. No confirmation email from hotel.

Review 92:cooperation of staff. Great beds in a very quiet room.

Review 93:The breakfast was so-so. Not a biscuit and gravy person (too salty) and there was nothing else hot except for the waffle maker. Fruit, breads, everything else was good - was expecting more "breakfast" - eggs, bacon/sausage, etc. The only disappointment of the hotel.

Review 94:The room was quiet, clean, nicely laid out. The facilities were well maintained, just a little hard to get in and out of the parking lot, depending on how busy it was. Overall, I highly recommend staying here.

Review 95:Breakfast could been better, more choices, room could have had a heater fan that wasn't so noisy, and the faucet handle fell off!

Review 96:Staff was awesome!

Review 97:When I arrived, I was almost charged for 5 nights instead of 2. I don't know if that was error on the part of the sight I used to book the reservation or the hotels. The carpet in our room was coming up from the floor, there were cockroaches, and the air conditioner was not working properly. The breakfast was meager, but we didn't expect much for the price.

Review 98:The price.

Review 99:Entrance/reception area needs updating. Dark and outdated. Room small. Air conditioner was loud and beyond noisey.

Review 100:Breakfast was awesome. Quiet location.

Review 101:The room air con was so noisy we could hardly sleep; the hotel is tired and needs a make over.

Review 102:The staff were friendly and welcoming; the location was ok

Review 103:The place could have been cleaner. When we got there my daughter threw up on the bathroom floor and when I was wiping the floor up after her it seemed like it wasn't clean before we got in there. The white was cloth was almost black after a quick swipe around the toilet base. We also had a view of the outdoor pool from our room which had not been drained and cleaned properly for the winter (this was in March). It had a couple feet of brown water in it. I know that could have been rain water or melted snow, but it looked gross.

Review 104:Staff was very pleasant and helpful.

Review 105:My shower was dirty, still had shaved hair from previous person that was never cleaned out the whole time I was there. People around were noisy and no help from desk. Rate was wrong at check-in and that took a long time due to PC problems

Review 106:Centrally located to the whole area. Nice breakfast set out in the mornings

Review 107:could have been vacuumed a little better-- but overall good job

Review 108:Kayte was excellent! She was at the desk our other visits. She is a KEEPER!!The young woman you had at desk on the 11th was good --did not work with the night people so cannot comment on them. My husband liked the manager and we enjoyed your morning breakfast and free wifi.

Review 109:The hotel is obviously an older facility. The elevators "clunked"; the ice & vending machine areas had no sound-diffusion; all the common areas (particularly the carpets) were as clean as possible, but obviously well-worn.

Review 110:Kaycee (front desk) is very friendly & accommodating, without being intrusive. The entire bed - mattress, linens, pillows - were extremely comfortable. The bathroom was clean & functional, altho nowhere near luxurious.

Review 111:Staff was extremely friendly and helpful in assisting our family with a "surprise" for my mom. Facility is very clean and inviting and rooms were comfortable.

Review 112:The people next door were loud, started fighting and shoving next door to our room. went on from midnight till 4 or 5 in the morning. No sleep.

Review 113:It was nice and clean.

Review 114:Morning check out front desk person (do not know here name) had very little knowledge of the process. Took longer to check out / get a final receipt than it did to check in and get to our room.

Review 115:Latonya at the front desk was EXCELLENT and focused on customer service. We checked in late and she was so efficient and friendly.

Review 116:Could not believe this person came into our room without knocking, hollering "Hello, Hello." There was no notification from the front desk either. Supposedly, he was there to fix the microwave. There was nothing wrong with the microwave as I later thought to check. Manager Shannon was not on the premises but was notified at home. She promptly called us, in defensive mode of course, saying her employee had knocked twice, went in the room, saw bathroom light on and backed out! He backed out when I hollered at him! My husband and I were just relaxing after a hectic trip, television was not on, everything was quiet so had this "maintenance" employee knocked, surely we would have heard him. Our fault: we did not put on the door lock! People should be careful when staying here! Additional problem: room was frigid (54 degrees) when we arrived but we were able to get the unit heater going. Then it was way too hot (84 degrees) and I couldn't sleep for fear of suffocating! Not a good experience.

Review 117:Kaytee on front desk was absolutely professional, happy to see us, very knowledgeable of amenities. Lovely bed and linens. Great breakfast, everything you could possibly think of was on the sideboard.

Review 118:I don't like foam pillows and my lap-top would not connect to the wi-fi, even after many attempts.

Review 119:I liked having a refrigerator and a microwave and the bathroom was clean and had plenty of towels. The bed was comfortable although I don't like foam pillows.

Review 120:I think the bed needed to be flipped. it dipped terribly on the one side, super firm on the other.

Review 121:The room was great. Clean. Nice amenities. Breakfast was good. Loved the hours breakfast was available.

Review 122:We found the beds to be a little softer than we are used to but we prefer a firmer mattress. Other than that I can't say anything negative.

Review 123:We have always stayed here through the years when in Omaha. It has had name changes over the past 25 years but it has always been clean and reasonably priced. Plus it's easy access to everything in west Omaha - shopping, food, etc. and the continental breakfast menu offering is good.

Review 124:with older eyes, the only "wish list" item I would like... there were 4 different light fixtures avail in the main room area (not counting the bathroom area) just wish at least one had a brighter light. As for the facility itself- I'd like to see their corp offices make a point to get them a new American Flag for their flagpole out front- it's getting a bit tattered at the ends.

Review 125:Very good value for the $ , better than I expected. In room microwave and fridge a plus. Very welcoming lobby, with free coffee and tea available at all times.,even beyond the breakfast hrs. The room was clean and comfortable. They had no problem, even at the Christmas Holiday time accommodating our early ck in and later ck out time... I will most certainly stay there again and would recommend them to others as a mid-range priced place to stay. I never worried about safety or security while I was there.

Review 126:King bed mattress was a bit soft. No actual closet so felt crowded in a fairly good size room having all you stuff laying about

Review 127:Right off I-80, easy to get to, in a quiet area, didn't hear other guests. Staff was very nice. Rooms were pretty nice too. Very close to major shopping and restaurants. Brew burger next door not fancy but did have some awesome beers available

Review 128:Mirrors in bedroom uncomfortable for girlfriend. Carpets dirty. Expected "excellent" from ratings.

Review 129:Middle price, online booking, desk manager.

Review 130:The bed could have a better mattress with better quality sheets!

Review 131:The shower was good! The breakfast is good! The television is good! The service is good!

Review 132:There wasn't much closet space. No washers or dryers in the hotel.

Review 133:The hotel was very clean, well it and the staff was wonderful. The rooms were very comfortable.

Review 134:Loud noises coming from outside. The air conditioner kept making a beeping noise but I could tolerate it. My parents bought a pie and my brother accidentally drop crust from the pie. When we left the room and came back, the crust was sworm with ants and they were under the frig. Freak me out and it was a lot of ants there for about two days. Had to keep killing the ants with tissue. Housekeeping did clean it up. But I think the rooms need a little exterminator for ants. I was on the first floor. Breakfast biscuits were cold and wifi could not be access. Update air conditioner unit, its old but does warm up the room and keep it cool when needed.

Review 135:Location, staff was friendly, coffee machines were filled all the time, the breakfast hours were excellent, breakfast selection was good. Beds were comfortable. Rooms and bathrooms were clean. Like the 42 inch TV and great channels. Like that the room had a refrigerator and microwave. Sheets clean. Loved the multiple charging outlet! Saw housekeeping with a carpet cleaner machine meaning they do clean the carpet. Very quiet. Very spacious. Price for rooms are great.

Review 136:The bed was a little firmer than what we were accustomed to.

Review 137:This was a very nice hotel - clean, well-maintained and a good value for the price! We will definitely stay here again!

Review 138:Nothing here was unlikeable.

Review 139:We were very pleased with our choice. The Staff was wonderful and knowledge about the area. Very helpful when I had a problem with my car. Food was fantastic, coffee fresh late at night. Room was immaculate and modern, very clean smell. Price was 5 stars!
