Reviews for Stowe Mountain Lodge
Review 1:This trip was a Christmas gift to my husband; though it was an amazing trip and we enjoyed it, it will probably be our only visit bc of the cost of the resort.
Review 2:The staff were all extremely friendly and approachable; valet crew were very good at remembering you and we're very quick and efficient. Ski in and ski out convenience was amazing. Enjoyed the ice rink.
Review 3:We didn't like some of the staff workers.Bar Tenders was veryunhappy. It seems to us that somebody was dieing.Valet parking! We camewith snowboards wich was in cover so Valets took it to storage and whenwe came to take it back first they bring not all boards second theybring it without our carrying case and said that they searching fot themwe was waiting during half an hour and what do you think did they bringout cases to us ? no. And we went to storage by our selfs and nobody waslookig there for our cover cases. Thanks to guy who was working in thatstorage he find cases very fast.
Review 4:It was a group trip of eight people and we came to snowboarding. So itwas awesome location for us.The food in hotel restaurant wasdelicious.Out Door pool was awesome too.The property was very cleanand comfort.
Review 5:We were very disappointed to discover the hotel was only 80% functioning. There Are many lovely fireplaces in the lobby and bar areA, however even upon request, neither wood burning or gas were functioning. Additionally, the restaurant was not in service during the week.
Review 6:The hotel is new Design quite nice
Review 7:Check in was very slow even though there were at least four people on the desk. We asked for a high floor on our booking form and were put initially on the ground floor overlooking the entrance.
Review 8:The location is excellent with good facilities and a superb golf course. The pool area is well designed with a fire pit in the evenings.
Review 9:Very long walk from our room to the pool/hot tub, front desk, restaurants, etc.
Review 10:The Lodge was gorgeous. Well appointed. The rooms were spacious and the bathroom was lovely. We enjoyed the view of the ski runs from our room and the in room fireplace.
Review 11:Valet parking: it is expensive and service is horrible. Firstly, the cars stay just outside, near the driveway, I could have done it. Secondly, my car wasn't even cleaned from snow. Really?! I tried looking for a free parking but because we stayed in the main building it didn't make any sense to park near the houses.
Review 12:I liked all the amenities of the hotel, including SPA, hot tubs, heated pools, etc. The prices may be too high, but overall a good experience. I also judge the hotel by its bathrooms, and my room bathroom was very spacious and nice. However, the shower was weird, it looked like it was ripped off.
Review 13:Forced to pay $22 a day valet parking. No other parking available (by design). They are building a new addition to the already massive resort. Our room faced this and on Monday morning was greeted early with workers drilling, banging, etc. Very loud and disruptive to a 'relaxing' long weekend away.
Review 14:Great rooms. Very clean. Modern.
Review 15:Considering it is a resort in the mountains with plenty of activities - you should have two bottles of water in the room for guests - free and replenish each day - this separates good resorts from exceptional resorts. Also better coffee is needed - Beanery is just average and you don't have a coffee set up in the hotel at all - again, complimentary coffee stand separates the good from the great (Basin Harbor Club - set up complimentary until 10am (Vergennes, VT) This alone makes you feel as if you got some added value. BTW, not sure why there were not fires going in the lobby - would have been a nice touch
Review 16:Hotel was very nice - pool, fire pit, hot tubs. Bar was a little boring but probably not yet in season. Overall, pretty, comfortable resort - picturesque
Review 17:Expensive breakfast. When we checked in, there was a balcony with no access but was shared with the room next door who would have access to our window. We asked to change rooms. They charged us another $100. My husband went to the mountain golf course. They wouldn't let him play because he was wearing cargo shorts.
Review 18:Location
Review 19:Not much...most everything was excellent. Not having to use the valet parking every night would have been nice cost of parking adds up if you are staying for a few days otherwise valet service was friendly and helpful
Review 20:Relaxing atmosphere and very friendly staff. Location cannot be beat if you are looking for a relaxing location with easy access to hikeing and out door activities
Review 21:Did not like that I had to pay $22 per day for parking. Our room was not ready by 4:30 and we had to take another and although it was an upgrade, the views were not good.
Review 22:Construction in the next room at 8:00 am!!! Construction ALL day . Pulling tiles off the walls! Loud screw guns. Pulling the wood off the balcony banister at 8:30 am. Major renovation in the room next to 1311. We went on vacation for peace and quiet.
Review 23:Friendly staff
Review 24:No real options for gluten free.Nor was the staff knowledgeable about gluten free: Celiac's beware! The chili at lunch arrived cold: meaning it was reheated/premade. The dinner: lamb shank was charged at 5 star prices but arrived cold meaning it was reheated and premade as well. We at outside of the hotel thereafter. The service at the pool was as if they were uninterested to provide you a drink... Front reception staff were friendly. Stay here but eat elsewhere!
Review 25:The facilities: gorgeous. The heated pool divine over memorial day weekend when it was a little cool.
Review 26:restaurant food is great but the capacity is too small. shouldn't have to wait if you are a guest
Review 27:location, architectural design and interior décor are fantastic. pool, hot tubs outdoor really fun. proximity to ski area, ski in/ski out spectacular
Review 28:The only disappointing experience I had was that, in this being a leisure trip trip and having the room we did for the money I was looking forward to a little extra relaxing sleeping time in the morning. The main point of the getaway trip was to leave the working world and busy schedule behind to relax. However the room next to ours has young kids that were screaming at 6:00am, and out on the patio being extremely loud, We finally gave in after 40 minutes and realized that we had to get up at 6:40. I thought for the amount of money being spent a night that something like that would have been avoided or more controlled.
Review 29:I loved this hotel and its amazing amenities!
Review 30:Rooms were clean and tidy, food and drinks were excellant, skiing was terrific. I could not have planed a better trip with wife everything was excellant
Review 31:The room was smaller than expected for $850/night. The balcony had no coverage so we couldn't use it because of the snow melt constantly raining on us from above. The television was a bit small and out dated.
Review 32:Excellent location. Great food.
Review 33:Not one thing!
Review 34:Having moved from the UK our first state side holiday, just magical! Stowe Mountain Lodge seem to get it right on every level. Our 6 and 2 year old are as keen to return as we are. Such an amazing resort with service and ammeneties to match in a word Awesome!
Review 35:A few missteps with spa treatment reservation and housekeeping came and insisted that we had ordered a sofa bed that we didn't.
Review 36:Spa and pool.Restaurant great, relaxing in front of fireplace. Room spectacular with beautiful marble.
Review 37:Valet parking not really optional Just pretty massive hotel, slightly spoils the peaceful mountainside feel
Review 38:Large, Comfortable, clean room Friendly service Large outdoor pool Picturesque
Review 39:Rooms are very spacious and there was a fireplace in the one we had. The room also had a balcony which provided great views. The location is excellent and next to the cable car to the top of the mountain. We were there in the fall and the scenery was stunning. We ate in the hotel restaurant twice and the food was up to expectations. You have to pay for valet parking but the car is waiting for you outside the hotel within ten minutes of calling down. We loved our stay here.
Review 40:Nothing!
Review 41:The attentiveness of all the staff: seldom have we come across such uniform hospitality. This began with Peter's welcoming response to our pre-arrival email right through to the valet who bade us farewell. The opportunity to swim in a lovely outdoor pool in the snow was memorable and made all the more pleasant because such attention to detail was shown in anticipating one's post-swim needs. The mountain location is the icing on the cake.
Review 42:Parking is valet only.
Review 43:We got upgraded to a studio upon arrival without asking. The room was fabulous, complete with sofa, balcony, kitchenette and fireplace. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. Enjoyed eating/drinking at the bar.
Review 44:No shower room next to the pool. It is the only thing we do not like.
Review 45:We love the place overall. It is very modern with nicely designed rooms and facilities. Perfect location near the gondola to the peak.
Review 46:This is a modern and well appointed hotel with a broad range of facilities. The hotel was spotlessly clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Food in the restaurant good, but not fantastic. Well located for sking and hiking. Swimming pool excellant. We would stay here again.
Review 47:The length of the walk to your room, certainly not the quietest place in Stowe. Valet parking is great but when you have to wait for you car for fifteen minutes it gets aggravating especially if you have to drop it off a couple of times a day. Wouldn't dare to invite someone back for a drink. Impossible to get into a restaurant unless you dine at 4:30 PM
Review 48:It is modern, large and comfortable if you don't have to walk a mile to get to your room. The help for the most part were great.
Review 49:The place seems too perfect, too artificial in my opinion, lacking personality and specially charm. Check in personnel were way too "structured" and were quick to note that all restaurants in the are were booked, which ended up being not correct. they just wanted to take care of the next guest (very Las Vegas syndrome) Moreover, it absolutely rubbed us the wrong way for the bell captain to give the "speech" about the amenities and also the availability for purchasing the units. Guests should never be forced to listen to unexpected and unwanted sales presentations nor should you ask your workers to do so. Place some ads around your property and let the interested parties ask. Again, a beautiful property but "cold".
Review 50:Good location; new property with great lavish lobby areas, pools, spa, shopping etc. Very large, elegant rooms with all the high ends comforts a 4-5 star place would offer. Very Las Vegas!
Review 51:The food in restraunt was cold they took it away to re heat then my side orders were cold all while my wife was eating hers. A special occasion spoiled.
Review 52:The hotel was fab. Felt realy special.
Review 53:Nothing negative to say
Review 54:We were more than delighted with this place. Our room was fabulous - we had a fireplace and kitchen and the king bed was like sleeping on a cloud. The breakfast buffet was delicious and had so much to choose from (loved the special juice drink they served at the end of the meal)
Review 55:Then only negative is its 5 miles or so to the 'downtown' area but that would never deter me from staying there.
Review 56:The hotel is beautifully located in a gorgeous mountain setting. The staff was very nice and we even got a free upgrade to a suite...loved it. We would go back in a heartbeat.
Review 57:Poor signage for the meeting...making finding the right conference area more difficult than it should have been All Valet parking...long wait to get out and around if you needed your car (and a $21/day fee)
Review 58:Beautiful location Lovey new rooms
Review 59:- the restaurant was wanting in ambience - the ongoing construction alongside the property was a bit of an eyesore considering the otherwise excellent location
Review 60:- Location; while away from the main town, access is excellent - Facilities, especially the full service fitness and spa facilities and amazing pool and jacuzzi. - staff was excellent, helpful and very professional
Review 61:THREE DOLLARS FOR A COFFEE AFTER PAYING $250 FOR A ROOM, DISGUSTING. I STAY AT DAYS INN THAT HAVE COMPLIMENTARY COFFEE IN THE MORNING. We ate at the bar upon arrival, although the two burgers and a couple of glasses of wine were delicious, the $110 bill was not.
Review 62:Beautiful room, great staff, location is stunning.
Review 63:Management Housekeeping and Engineering did not communicate my need for allergy-proofing my room. Pillows not run through dryer until I requested (Housekeeping unaware of request $ jumped). Filters so dirty I woke with migraines everyday, vomiting the second morning an leaving me bedridden to miss most of two days touring Vermont. Realized they hadn't changed filter third night. Shut off air. Left earlier than reservation. Because of cancellation policy, gave me a one night credit after manager realized their mistake. Still charged me for night did not stay.
Review 64:Concierge service set up amazing fly fishing experience with Willy at Catamount Guides, fabulous spa services with Jennifer, insanely healthy/decadent dinner with Diana & Susan...
Review 65:Nothing
Review 66:Excellent location, beautiful hotel rooms and amenities. The pool with outdoor bar is a plus - definitely a five star resort which is hard to find in Vermont!!
Review 67:The outside pool was not hot enough for a winter day. Housekeeping needs improvement.
Review 68:Great location. Beautiful hotel. Very Nice, comfotable rooms.
Review 69:courtesy of staff was great, great mountain to go skiing, very enjoyable ski trails.
Review 70:Everithing excelente
Review 71:the hotel, room, staff, view, food...everything was fantastic. if you go to Hourglass get the wings with the dry rub...they were incredible!
Review 72:The service was exceptional. Friendly accomadating staff with great ideas of how to enjoy the location. Tasty food as well.
Review 73:First solo vacation. Staff fantastic, hotel beautiful. Nothing bad to say. Can't wait to go back

Review 75:excellent lodge, love the mission decor and room size. staff exemplary
Review 76:Our room was great, lots of space and an amazing view. A long way from the lift though for some people
Review 77:Very clean! Friendly staff! Excellent accommodations!
Review 78:Impeccable facilities. The staff catered to all our needs.

Review 84:Love the completely equipped kitchen and the convenient setting of patio with magnificent mountain view just outside of our room.
Review 85:They ran out of breakfast the first morning we were there,
Review 86:amenities and location
Review 87:Costs are elevated higher then they should be
Review 88:outstanding property, great views, great rooms, excellent service.
Review 89:The price of the food !!!! Should have been some kind of discount for kids lacrosse teams.
Review 90:Everything was perfect
Review 91:Pillows were too soft
Review 92:The location
Review 93:Cost differential to amenities was high. You are paying for the view.
Review 94:Loved the location and staff
Review 95:Your staff was amazing very courteous and polite. Everything bedding food golf and service was excellent!
Review 96:Nothing. Everything was superb
Review 97:Location, Property & Service!
Review 98:I don't like dogs in the hotel
Review 99:Absolutely nothing!
Review 100:Just our favorite family snow resort. Kids love ski school, we love the ski runs. Food, Facilities and Staff are all fantastic!
Review 101:the worst service. they took 5 hours to put a sofa bed. the cleaning lady went in the room with out knocking the door.
Review 102:the location is the best,
Review 103:small room valet parking fee
Review 104:hot tub and pool lobby area free coffee plenty of staff on hand
Review 105:The beds were awful!
Review 106:The view
Review 107:No choice but to pay for valet parking
Review 108:Liked the room and all the amenities
Review 109:Valet parking
Review 110:Super location in spectular setting
Review 111:the room the restaurant the landscape
Review 112:Nothing at all
Review 113:The hotel and the views are wonderfull and the area is beautifull and a must to visit yearly.
Review 114:Our room was quite small and not ready til 4:30 or 5:00. Sunday brunch was very pricey for what was offered , wish we could have just ordered what we wanted.
Review 115:Pool and hot tub were fabulous.
Review 116:Cleanliness was lacking to say the least. The towels, sheets and washcloths were not clean. When I told housekeeping, they replaced the towels with towels which were equally dirty. When housekeeping came at around 10 am, he was short and a little impolite, kind of ordering me to leave the room, so he could clean it. The second night, they left their dirty cleaning towels in the bathroom. I eventually spoke with the night manager, who told me that he would do something, asap. The next day, nothing had been done to fix the situation, and the towels were still the same. I know this hotel, having stayed here quite a few times before, but the quality and value have gone down quite a bit. It seems that over the past few years, each time I stay here it gets a little worse each time. Some of these little issues(i.e. dirty towels, leaving dirty cleaning towels in the room) are unacceptable in any hotel, but especially a 5 star establishment. I also have photos taken from my phone, of the dirty towels and cleaning towels left in the room. Review 117:The location was where I needed to be. The room was the right size
Review 118:The alarm that kept going off in the room next door, both mornings. It took a good 20 mins before someone came to disable it.
Review 119:Loved the location, the comfy lobby area with lots of seating and fireplaces
Review 120:Beds were very uncomfortable, we all had a sore back in the morning! PS upgrade the mattresses!
Review 121:Absolutely a beautiful Resort, great skiing, great access to mountain, great restaurants. would definitely return but ...
Review 122:A great destination for skiing and snowboarding. The hotel is clean, well run, with wonderful views. The staff is friendly and very polite. The ski and snowboard schools are outstanding.
Review 123:Quite pricey. If car valet and maybe breakfast were included , it would be much better value. Shower power/ flow wasn't very powerful in our room. Wifi in room was weak... Had to be close to door to get a good signal.
Review 124:Location to slopes. Ski valet. Swimming pool. Staff. Breakfast. Gas effect fire in room. Coffee maker in room, lovely fresh ground coffee ( vacuum packed ) . Overall kitchen facilities in room.
Review 125:Valet parking was lovely, although I wouldn't have minded parking my car myself, & saving the money. Although the valets were sweethearts!
Review 126:We loved our room. There was a staff member named Ken who grew up in the same area of CT as us. The town of Stowe looked like something out of a movie.
Review 127:Food was not up to the mark for the price we paid. We didn't have agood tv screen. It was a regular small flat screen . I was expecting awall mounted huge lcd screen. All movies were very expensive . Theycould have been free or at a nominal cost for the guest at the resort.Breakfast should be included in the room charge as the room charges arepretty high. After my buffet breakfast I picked up a curd and waswalking out . One of the hotel staff walked upto me and inquired if Ireally ate the buffet . I didnt like that they suspected that I wouldsteal a curd ! Staff wasnt very polite.
Review 128:It is a beautifully decorated and ideally located. Rooms are verycomfortable and has a romantic setup
Review 129:it is confusing to get from the rooms to the pool. there are no signs to show you the direction and you have to walk by the reception. also the price per night is to high for these less facilities, an extra fee for using the spa (steam room, etc) is not usual for a high class hotel.
Review 130:very friendly staff excellent food in the restaurant impressive view
