Reviews for Chateau De Harzé

Review 1:Comfortable bed, quiet setting Breakfast - good selection of typical northern European offerings - bread, pastries, ham, cheese, spreads. Really enjoyed being able to boil my egg as I like it! Pet friendly

Review 2:the bath drain was blocked no attractions in Harvé but several a short drive away. the annex "B" rooms are on the street

Review 3:the restaurant cooks excellent food. The castle is idyllic. the VIP "A" room in the main building is huge and well-appointed and a small bathroom has been carved out of the huge historic room (half the original room?).

Review 4:Twin beds not double as stated

Review 5:10 mins from motorway, easy to find. Had family room in turret of annex, great set up with childrens room upstairs. More like a small apartment. Very good value for money. Restaurant good with prompt service

Review 6:Really disapponting to have to wait so long (15mins) before being approached by a waiter in the resto. Then another overlong wait for food. When it arrived, food was good. Staff friendly but too few of them.

Review 7:Super view over goat-field & village from huge windows in our room. Great bed.Big bathroom, well-equipped. Staff very welcoming & friendly. Resto a big let-down.

Review 8:Triple Room was brilliant. We stayed in a round maisonette that reminded us of a castle turret complete with a spiral stair case. Excellent location, facilities and staff!

Review 9:The beds are very soft, both me and my girlfriend woke up in the middle of the night with back pain. The breakfast is ok, but fresh fruits and vegetables are missing. Also the egg variety could be better.

Review 10:The location and atmosphere of the hotel are super nice. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Also the dinner in the restaurant is very delicious.

Review 11:Bed is unpleasant soft. Floor is dirty. During the 3 days we stayed, floor was not vacuum cleaned, nor was even a sign that a sweep was used...No amenities available, not a pair of through-away slippers, considering the dirt on the floor, this would have been highly appreciated.

Review 12:Greenery, pleasant environment. Perfect place for business, seminars etc, not so good for leisure (apart from a small museum on the site, location has not much to do)

Review 13:impossible d'obtenir quoi que ce soit comme amuse-bouche pour agrémenter l'apéro. pas la moindre cacahuète, chips ou morceau de fromage. serveur hyper-stressé

Review 14:belle demeure

Review 15:There is no lobby and there is nothing going on, you either stay in your room or in the restaurant. The bed is extremely uncomfortable and there was lots of early morning noise from smashing the doors by the cleaning woman. Also the room was very small.

Review 16:The location, the Restaurant, the Castle

Review 17:a very unique atmosphere... wish we stayed more nights... matbe next time!

Review 18:extremely helpful and friendly staff

Review 19:Cost was steep. Recognized it was a Grand Prix weekend...

Review 20:Great flexibility with checkout times

Review 21:The chateau was beautiful, in lovely surroundings. The bed was the best I have ever slept in - it was so comfortable.

Review 22:The whole pakage

Review 23:Wow, this place was the best. The ceilings in our room were so high and the room overlooked the fountain. We felt like princesses.

Review 24:RESTAURANT CLOSED ON MONDAY

Review 25:SURROUNDINGS

Review 26:Friendliness

Review 27:No wiFi in room A4

Review 28:Stylish and comfortable

Review 29:Bathroom is very old fashioned. Restaurant could be better (food and service).

Review 30:It is nice to stay in a castle. Staff was friendly.

Review 31:Nothing

Review 32:Staff Restaurant Location Setting History Service Room

Review 33:Wifi didnt work in our room which is irritating when you want to plan your trip. The room was tucked away in quiet corner but still heard neighbours. Noisy. Chateau Restaurant was full at dinner time but there are no restaurants in Harze village and restaurant options in next town are limited in variety. So book dinner at chateau in advance

Review 34:Chateau itself was beautiful. Good parking. Complimentary breakfast was delicious.

Review 35:Noisy ventilator in bathroom.

Review 36:clean and spacious room (A3). Great castle setting. Walking trails passing the hotel. Parking and wifi available. Tasty and voluptuous breakfast. Friendly and very helpful staff.

Review 37:I had a single room which smelt slightly musty, especially the bathroom had a little bit of a mildew smell. Not a huge deal, just think the circulation of the cheaper rooms in the outbuilding is not so good, and they only have a skylight, no windows.

Review 38:Staff were very friendly, also my parents had a very nice room in the castle. Breakfast was good and the views were great

Review 39:The sound isolation is not that perfect so we heard the TV of our next door room.

Review 40:It is a fantastic hotel. We got a room with view and it was very large, very beautifully decorated and super clean. The coffee machine, the quality of hair dryer and free water bottles in the minibar already give clue about the value given to customers in this hotel. The personal is very helpful and friendly. The restaurant offers great food with reasonable prices. The gardens and the surrounding make you feel very special. I enjoyed every moment in this hotel and I will definitely visit there again if they keep this price/quality ratio such high.

Review 41:We booked two superior rooms with king size beds. Only one of them had a king size bed, the other had a small bed on top of the reception which was also extremely noisy during the night (music) and morning

Review 42:Location Good restaurant in the hotel Good breakfast

Review 43:The rain, but you can't help it.

Review 44:The surrounding nature. The beautiful castle, although as guests we don't see the castle on the inside. A guided tour would be wonderful.

Review 45:The room was very small. There was not even room for a chair. You had to sit on the bed. There were no restaurant or bar facilities available.

Review 46:The room was clean and well maintained. The setting and castle were very attractive.

Review 47:There was a door next to our room which led onto the corridor. Every time anyone entered the door would shut very noisily. This became a problem when you were trying to rest and other people came in late. Perhaps a slow closing door would be the answer to this problem

Review 48:The peace and quiet were a bonus and set in very nice grounds also. We had all that we needed in our room to make our stay a comfortable one. I particularly like the BBC 1 Channel on the television that enabled us to keep in touch with what was going on back home. Plus there was some good programs on to see in English.

Review 49:Thin walls between rooms; can hear neighbors speak at times.

Review 50:Location (at the center of many well marked round-trip hiking trials through the Ardennes). Excellent value for price.

Review 51:I had some internet issues, it only worked in the hallway, not in theroom.

Review 52:It is probably the most elegant 'castle' - Chateau in Belgium, owned bythe 'Province de Liege' and managed with care. The breakfasts andevening dinner were ample and not expensive. The entire ambiance wasgreat, the setting is beautiful and the staff were all very friendly andhelpful. I will stay again and bring friends - a must.

Review 53:Breakfast didn't live up to the expectations: it was rather poor with little choice

Review 54:The room was huge! The hotel is indeed a castle and it feels like a fairy tale. Was expecting trolls and unicorns to pop up round every corner The whole building is impressive: the staircase, the rooms, the surroundings.

Review 55:Staff were friendly and helpful and the Chateau is a beautiful buildingin a pretty and quiet location. We stayed in a superior room which wascomfortable, decorated well and had a great view.

Review 56:I expected more choice for breakfast. The choice was limited.

Review 57:We stayed in a real tower, that was great! And the staff was very friendly.

Review 58:There is no wifi in B4 and B5 apartments.

Review 59:Location and authentic castle

Review 60:Gorgeous place, very complaisant personnel.

Review 61:Everything was excellent!

Review 62:the location is excellent, so near to the nature and mountains/woods. staff is helpful and friendly at any time.

Review 63:Simply Fabulous - strongly recommended

Review 64:Lovely hotel breakfast good staff good. Just a little away from town €16for 4 of us to get there in taxi. Approx 5 km away.

Review 65:Rather spartan

Review 66:Friendly service but a rather basic student feel to rooms
