Reviews for Red Lion Hotel Spokane at the Park
Review 1:The bed was very comfortable, but seemed to be leaning to one side. I'm sure it just needed to be changed out due to volume of use. I slept very well.
Review 2:Excellent location. Friendly, polite and helpful staff. Excellent breakfast and views.
Review 3:Can't think of anything . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Nope, can't think of anything
Review 4:Convient location Being able get reservation on line. The perfect generous breakfasts
Review 5:loved everything!
Review 6:I appreciated how acomidating the staff was! I really liked the shuttle service! I thought it wouldn't hurt to ask them if my older daughter & her friend could stay back at the hotel while I had to take my son to his appointment the sacred Heart childrens hospital. I told them his aptointment was from 9-12 & asked if there was any way we could check out as soon as we got back from the appointment. the lady said sure & said our check out time was 1 & that there would be no extra charge! I just really liked how they really treated me & accomidated me so well! Loved the location, just wished we had more time to explore!
Review 7:Very dated...furnishings are from the 70s. No sitting chair in room and no magnifying mirror in bathroom.
Review 8:Very affordable...great staff...great location
Review 9:The special price for the night (probably have not stayed on a Sunday night before). A shuttle was available to take us to our concert and pick us up afterward. The breakfast buffet the following morning was wonderful! The room was excellent.
Review 10:Hotel hallways had a funny smell. Carpeting looked worn out. Hostess at the cafe created an awkward situation trying to fin our name on a list when we mentioned our breakfast was included. This however was just confirmed by the hotel concierge.
Review 11:The food at the restaurant/bar was top notch. Beds were comfortable. Location within walking distance of theater.
Review 12:It would been nice if I got a room higher in the tower but mine was still pretty great
Review 13:Stayed in the tower and the view of Spokane skyline was phenomenal. I really love things like those.
Review 14:The Internet was painfully slow. I was there during bad weather and did not want to leave the hotel for dinner. The dining room needs to be open and not just the bar. The staff were wonderfully accommodating and served several of us in the lobby.
Review 15:It is very comfortable and quiet
Review 16:Not a lot of info. We had to guess where things were. Had to ask a lot of questions to get the info needed or just didn't get the info.
Review 17:Great location. Decent rooms.
Review 18:The food is very average.
Review 19:The location was great. Free parking was a plus. The rooms were big and comfortable. The pool area is fun. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Review 20:Pay for parking. Why don't you start charging by the pound as well. Its getting as bad as the airlines when you have to nickel and dime your customers.
Review 21:It was fairly quiet on a weeknight, but became an insane party on Friday night. There is a large atrium in the middle and everything echoes. Loud teens and drunk adults kept me awake until 2am.
Review 22:Convenient to Gonzaga, well appointed room, shuttle service was nice too.
Review 23:Charging $9. to park outside every night, no other hotel does.Towels stiff and smelled, using to much laundry soap and not getting it out. Heater very loud!
Review 24:Great staff, facilities and location.
Review 25:I would liked to have a lounge chair in the room so I could sit and read.
Review 26:The breakfast was very good and had a good variety. The waitress was pleasent and not overbearing.
Review 27:None.....
Review 28:My family and I felt very comfortable with our room and your facilities. Everyone we encountered was polite and courteous and we will be staying with you as soon as possible
Review 29:The door men, front desk, and shuttle people were just the best! Extremely accomodating. I am not greatly impressed with the youth these days but the ones that helped us give me great hope! We'll be back!
Review 30:Thermostat didn't seem to work or light up so we could figure it out luckily weather was mild enough all we needed was fan to drown out the noise especially with do not disturb sign on door but one cleaning lady next door never quit talking all morning long!
Review 31:Friendly staff, location ideal. Terrific Breakfast,
Review 32:There were several miscellaneous charges added to our bill. We are so glad we asked them to zero our balance before our final checkout. The charges were added after the morning bill was slipped under our door but before we totally checked out..They removed the charges.
Review 33:The location, cleaning service, complimentary breakfast were very nice for the price.
Review 34:The toilet in the first room we were placed in didn't work. The AC was very noisy. The location of our room, essentially in the basement, was not desirable.
Review 35:The location and proximity to walking path and park are excellent.
Review 36:The non-smoking room had cigarettes on the balcony, the view room had NO view and huge trees, the beds were rock hard with a cheap topper on them, the breakfast staff tapped on the table with a pen that they chose for you both mornings we were there, we left a note on the bed telling the maid service to keep the room cool and came back to a second day of muggy HOT room air that took forever to cool down.
Review 37:Location was great, the breakfast was pretty good but that's it. 3rd night wasn't available and now we're glad - got a better room by far at The Holiday Inn Express on Hwy 2.
Review 38:Nothing
Review 39:Seriously, everything. If you like quiet, clean, good food, friendly and helpful staff, fabulous location, excellent facilities......you will like this place!
Review 40:$9 per night parking fee? What options do we have? If you are looking to make some extra money, why not just raise your rates $9 per night? Two thumbs down.
Review 41:booked a "double" with booking.com and when we checked into the room we were surprised to see just one bed. When I called the front desk, I was informed that a "double" means a double-sized bed. Fortunately, the clerk was able to get us (my 17 year old daughter and I) into a "real double."
Review 42:We were so happy with the accommodating staff!! It was my daughter's 13th birthday party and the management was kind enough to upgrade us to 2 adjoining poolside rooms! With 8 girls it was perfect!
Review 43:The directions to the shuttle pick -up at the airport were incorrect provided to me by Rose. The shower head did not have full power. the middle section of the shower head poured out the water and the tub would fill with water. I was standing in a pool of water every time I showered.
Review 44:There were a lot of little things that made this an overall rough experience. The hotel is more than 30 years old and has had its own parking for 3 decades; we should not have had to pay for parking 20 feet from our room. On the reservation breakfast was included in the room, but when we checked in, we were informed that breakfast was available, not included and would be an extra $15. per person for the four of us. Our reservation confirmation paper showed two adults and two children but the hotel had us as two adults only so had to take extra time to adjust. Housekeeping didn't make the beds, rather they just threw the top blanket up and over the messed up sheets and mattress pad etc... we had to remake the beds to be able to lie down and go to sleep in them. Housekeeping didn't replace the drinking cups on the second day of the stay so we had to use the coffee cups from the coffee-maker tray. Not enough towels were placed into the room for the four of us, not enough pillows for us to sleep on. The carpet was dirty and the elevator was right next to our room and was so loud that every time it was used we woke up. A lot of little things that add up to me never using that hotel again.
Review 45:The location was good.
Review 46:Room smelled musty. The coffee pot was dirty and did not work. I had to pay to park my car in their parking lot. The life guard on duty at the pool did nothing but look at his cell phone. Breakfast was expensive and poor quality.
Review 47:The view from our room was amazing!
Review 48:Made specific request for room. Four months early, when arrived was toldthe rooms are on a first come basis. Was not the room I requested. A bagof stuff fell behind night table, when I went to get it, I saw it wasfilthy behind. Top of bedposts were still dirty too! Obviously notcleaned well!!! Makes you wonder about what else appears clean, but isnot!!! Gross. Went to experience pig out in park, found the majority ofpark had cyclone fence, to prepare for Chinese lantern festival threeweeks away!! Had to walk far to get to pig out festival from hotel, withelderly blind sister ! Normally easy walk in past visits, this time itwasn't! Was not informed about this going on. I was booking 5 mystay. A lot of money to find out the venue was going to be longer to getto than in previous years. Greatly dissapointed! Not sure if I will beback! Plenty of other hotels in that area!! When I complained abouthaving reserved 4mo prior, there was simple "sorry" no attemptto please the customer, not even an upgrade offer. Poor management forsure. Went through bookings.com, no info from them either. Why ask ifyou have requests in box when booking if your requests aren't evenconsidered!!! My stay was not even listed for reward points either. Redlion is slipping in service.
Review 49:The beds are very comfortable. Close to park. Great food.
Review 50:The smell was horrible. We walked in room and a deoarderizer was going in room. For the price of money I paid I would expect a better room than I got. I requested a view and balcony and paid for such and did not get it. My view was the dumpsters. I was charged for parking and had to park off the property in another area.
Review 51:Bed was comfortable.
Review 52:Loved everything!!!
Review 53:Of all the places we have stayed, we like this one the best! The location is our favorite. Close to our daughter's dr office, the park, and sonic! Oh and of course the outside pool!
Review 54:Room service was horrible, I know we ordered late as we got in right before closing but had a family of 5 to feed..entrees were cold and some even hard.
Review 55:Place was great and the front desk staff amazing
Review 56:Housekeeping was sub-par, both for us and in my sister's room. Outdoor pool was closed to public/booked for what looked like Fireball sponsored party- walked by- really low attendance at this 21+ event - would have been nice to use pool with the family. The indoor pool was gross and yet, packed. Bummer.
Review 57:Great spot on the river! close to lots of great activity- at least that weekend there was. Close to Gonzaga and Whitworth campuses.
Review 58:the surprise was at check in when they told us they would be charging us $9.00 per day for parking!! if we pay to stay we should NOT have to pay to park! Front desk was slow in response to request...over 1.5 hours to respond. Black long hair found in shower!
Review 59:The hot tub was great and the bed was really comfortable.
Review 60:The hotel is older and looks it. Could use an update soon! They had the outdoor pool closed for a private party all day on Saturday during Labor Day - I saw a lot of dissappointed kids!
Review 61:Great location, right next to Riverside Park. The bed was very comfortable, we slept great!
Review 62:My son had a cot bed in the room, this was the worst bed I have ever seen, it stayed in a V shape even when you laid on it, we ended up taking the mattress off and putting it on the floor.
Review 63:Reception staff were excellent, the pool was wonderful for my children, with great lifeguards and pool staff. Our room was very nice and we would stay again.
Review 64:Poolside room was great with the kids. Terrific pool! My 7 year old exclaimed "I was not prepared for this level of awesomeness" when he saw the pool right outside our room.
Review 65:The cleanliness of the hotel was poor, the hallways/stairwells were dirty (we stayed for 5 days and they weren't vacuumed once). Our bathroom sink also had drainage issues. Complimentary bikes to take out are only "complimentary" for the first 2 hours, then it is a $15/hr charge....nothing on their website indicates a charge.
Review 66:Great location, close to downtown and walking/biking trails. Outdoor pool was nice feature at this hotel, but you had to be out there early in the morning to get a lounge chair.
Review 67:Housekeeping did not always refresh room. Went without tea and coffee supplies. Otherwise great.
Review 68:The location was great. Walking distance to downtown and Riverfront Park was very convenient.
Review 69:The noise from the sliding glass door in the room above us was loud.Called the front desk at 11 pm to complain as my 3 young kids were beingkept awake. The noise still went on for over an hour. Next time I'llbe requesting a room on a floor where this won't be a problem. Onlyhiccup to speak of. Otherwise a great hotel! Super quiet halls!
Review 70:Quiet halls, friendly, accommodating staff, clean, great pool/waterslide, modern rooms ☺
Review 71:This hotel was absolutely wonderful! The staff was very friendly, opened doors and answered all my questions with a smile! I took my son to the Riverfront Park which is located right behind the hotel, perfect walking distance! The pool and water slide is very clean and well maintained, and room was perfect for a relaxing getaway! We did not want to leave, and will definitely return!
Review 72:The air conditioner vents were filthy. The air conditioning would only cool to 70 degrees at the coldest, and when the sun hit the window in the afternoon the coldest was about 76, even with the curtains closed. The light switches were all filthy. Needs a good spring cleaning!
Review 73:Nice staff, good location to walk along the river and see the falls.
Review 74:We had appetizers in bar, the food was excellent and the waitress was friendly. We ordered of the menu for breakfast was very good and again great staff. The location was why I booked and it was as expected
Review 75:A little hard to navigate the hotel with all the different sections and separate elevators.
Review 76:Staff was very courteous, prompt and helpful. Location is perfect
Review 77:The breakfast wasnt good at all non of us ate it .
Review 78:Front desk staff was awesome anytime I needed something they were on it . and thanks maintance n lobby staff as well u guys r super awesome n have a harder job so thank u so much for the great smiles n for the great stay
Review 79:Front desk check always seems to take longer than other hotels I stay at. Personnel are always friendly & engaging but process takes a while. Antiquated system?
Review 80:Location & nice facility. Always my 1st choice in Spokane
Review 81:The hotel was kind of dated, it would be nice to see it renovated.
Review 82:We like the pools and the hotel was easy to get to. We also took a walk through the park that was right behind the hotel! It was beautiful, and the kids loved the carousel!
Review 83:The breakfast was adequate, but certainly nothing great. For what we paid, we felt it could have been better. The only other negative was a truly filthy carpet in the elevator that we used to get to our 8th floor room. The hall and room carpets were very nice. Maybe the elevator carpet was just an oversight that no one is responsible for?
Review 84:Our room was spacious and extremely comfortable. Linens were very nice. The close proximity to the Spokane River was especially nice and made it very convenient to walk to the park on the other side. Beautiful grounds.
Review 85:Housekeeping entered our room too quickly after knocking only once and too early in the morning as we were still asleep.
Review 86:The pool was great! Food was great! The front desk staff took care of our minor discrepancies with housekeeping without question!
Review 87:I got some bug bites from the bedding which I did not like.
Review 88:I liked the friendly helpful staff. I liked the outdoor pool and gym. I liked the comfort of the hotel.
Review 89:There was a leak most likely coming from the bathroom that had the carpet next to the tiled floor very wet.
Review 90:Location was great. Staff very accommodating.
Review 91:We ran into multiple staff that came across as unhappy and sometimes rude. The room service menue in our room was old and outdated, and the one that was brought to us didn't have options that we wanted or were remotely kid friendly.
Review 92:The hotel was pretty centrally located and the room pretty spacious.
Review 93:I thought we had booked two nights but mistakenly only booked one. When we checked in, the hotel desk said she could book us for two nights but not at the booking.com rate. When I asked if we could keep the booking.com rate for one night and pay more for the second night, she checked with her manager and suddenly they were completely booked up on the second night. Not very convincing.
Review 94:Clean and nice.
Review 95:A well-appointed room. It was very comfortable. The location is awesome! Nice long walks along the Spokane River on the Park Side. Close to downtown and also the Shopping Centres, as well as many eateries!! A very enjoyable time !.
Review 96:The location was perfect for the park near the Spokane River. Room was very nice, and all the staff were very helpful and cooperative. I will stay here again.
Review 97:The pool was a huge favorite for everyone it was pretty crowded on Saturday the 4th but we still piled in. Everyone there was really friendly and welcoming we had a problem with a toilet over flowing but they came right up and fixed it followed by house keeping within ten minutes the problem was solved and our stay was actually less than we originally thought as well we will definitely be coming back
Review 98:I arrived at 4pm, rooms were not ready until 6:30pm 7pm. gave me a key to the pool which we did not have a place to change. made for a poor stay at a nice facility. very disappointed. most likely will not stay again. staff was not appoligetic.
Review 99:room was clean.
Review 100:One of the hallways on the 4th floor smelled like old diapers both days we were there for some reason?
Review 101:The proximity to Riverfront park was fantastic. Also loved the option for indoor or outdoor pool.
Review 102:'Hello Rewards' and internet. The user interface for it was notworking for me despite repeated efforts on my part. In the end, justfrustration. The desk kept telling me I was a member but all online sign-ins (all variations) treated me like I was not. I still don't knowif I am a member or not. Never got premium internet in three days. I wasgiven ISP/tech support number but even override code did not work(I'm tech saavy). Only reason I don't count this as a big issueis because everyone tried so hard to help. Otherwise fantastic stay.
Review 103:Overall great experience. Excellent price offered. Staff fixed disparityin price when issue arose (Booking.com price vs. Billed price). Theywere very generous about it and most importantly, fair. Beautifulsetting. Friendly, kind, professional staff. Secure.
Review 104:We came in at 2:00 but I had to wait twenty minutes to get a room for two not on the first floor while the two other lines of people didn't have a problem We wanted to watch the mariner game but couldn't get it. Also we couldn't get our coffee pot working and had to pay $3.50 a piece when many hotels have coffee for free
Review 105:Nice pool!!
Review 106:Towels smelled unwashed or that something had gone wrong with the dryer.
Review 107:Location is great! Nice to be able to walk to the park and close to restaurants and shopping.
Review 108:Paying for Parking! Ridiculous! It wasn't full. 9 bucks for a guest who is already paying $165 for a night for 1 person! Not cool. Loved hotel and staff especially in the lounge but wouldn't stay again.
Review 109:Luxury but parking fee is out of line.
Review 110:Kitchen didn't get food right then tried to get ahold of them for 35 min before they closed even left messages on there service and got nothing.. Top sheet was stained up with what appeared to be oil?! Of all things but on white out really stood out!
Review 111:Pool was cool and location was great for the Spokane arena can easily walk
Review 112:Arrived a little early and could have checked into a first floor room, but the agent said I could get a higher floor if I came back after 3pm. When I came back around 5:30pm I was able to check-in with no problem, but still got a first floor room. Note: you enter the hotel on the second floor, so you're half-below street level on the first floor.
Review 113:Property is well designed with a few options on site and within walking distance for dining. Convenient walking paths keep the city connected.
Review 114:There seemed to be a lot of hallway comotion. Loud people coming and going quite often. We later found out that there was a dart tournament in town and we had a few overdrinkers on our floor. :(
Review 115:Our room was nice. Overlooking the pool and downtown Spokane. We enjoyed a glass of wine while sitting on the patio.
Review 116:The restaurant has a strange and overpriced menu. Staff can be all over the place, some are excellent, others just plain rude.
Review 117:Gym, location, quiet rooms.
Review 118:Our room was exceptionally small and the bathroom also. Booked a 2 queen room but only got 1 bed for all 4 of us. So my extremely tall children had to sleep on the floor because a cot would not fit. Disappointing to say the least. They said no other rooms available and didn't offer a discount
Review 119:Comfortable bed and clean hotel
Review 120:at midnight, we awoke to a party in the hallway. Lot's of noise, screams, laughing, music, doors slamming etc. They didn't seem to care that other people were in the hotel actually trying to sleep. There were also parking challenges in the morning. I had to park across the street and wonder if my car would get towed
Review 121:Friendly staff, comfortable and clean rooms. Breakfast buffet was also enjoyable.
Review 122:The room needed serious updating. Starting with the broken bed and stained mattress...gross.
Review 123:The woman who checked us in was very friendly, helpful, & professional.
Review 124:Restaurant food is overpriced and a strange selection. Found the menu mis-leading in portions, quality and price. wine glasses are half size, the wine is old and seems like an after thought to beer. who are they catering to? Just eat off site.
Review 125:has everything need. fitness, jacuzzi, bar/restaurant although it's old, all works.
Review 126:Had to pay for parking. Room temperature won't go below 68 degrees. No free breakfast.
Review 127:Liked that is was close to Riverfront Park. All staff was friendly allows our furry friends..
Review 128:The women at the front desk were exceptionally attentive & helpful. They were kind and friendly even when they were unable to let us check in early due to being completely booked for the night.
Review 129:Not worth the money. Needs updating, charged for parking in their own lot, no way to rent movies or games. What they say is a restaurant is a bar and the food is terrible. I could go on and on. Extremely disappointed with this property.
Review 130:The girl that checked us in was friendly. However, not very professional.
Review 131:Having to pay $9/ day for parking
Review 132:Being close to the river and the downtown park for walking. Walking distance to downtown shopping, movie complex and award winning restaurants
Review 133:We liked that the young lady that checked us in sent a bottle of wine with dessert to help us celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. They trained their staff Excellent. Thank you and we will stay again with you and recommend to family and friends
Review 134:All night partying. We were right down from the front desk so they heard/saw it all. drunken races in the hall till 4 am. Kids playing hockey in the hall until midnight. This went on all week end. Wifi was dead slow. Room light was so bad you couldn't read in the evening. Halls and floors were dirty. Grandsons came over Sunday and we ordered room service breakfast, it was so bad we sat it out in the hall. The hash browns were still frozen in the middle. We stay at this location in the winter (indoor pool) and at the Red Lion at the River in the summer. Wont stay here again. There are a lot of nice motels in Spokane, wont be hard to find another.
Review 135:Indoor pool (wear shoes coming and going).
Review 136:the dinner buffet was cold and over priced.
Review 137:They were kind Shuttled us to event and back Early check in staff was knowledgeable and easy to talk to clean and comfortable and all we needed right in the hotel Breakfast buffet was excellent
