Reviews for Red Lion River Inn Spokane
Review 1:The employee that helped me check out was extremely rude. I checked out on the morning of January 3rd and the young woman working that morning was possibly one of the rudest people I have ever encountered.
Review 2:The beds were very comfy and the rooms were nicely laid out.
Review 3:What I didn't like was that it didn't have an inside pool other than that my stay was good.
Review 4:What I liked about my stay was the breakfast and the staff were really nice . The room I stayed in was clean I liked that .
Review 5:That breakfast ended at 9am. We were just waking up at about that time. Having it go until 10am at least would be much better.
Review 6:The beds were very comfortable. The room was nice and easy to get to.
Review 7:Wish our room wasn't so far from the restaurant and check in desk - (bad knee). Wish there were more gluten free things on the menu.
Review 8:Staff is very helpful and cheerful, rooms always well cleaned and stocked, lovely to walk along the river in the evening.
Review 9:The front desk and resturant staff were excellent. They were friendly and knowledgeable. The food was delicious; the room was clean and quiet. Price was great. Staff also offered helpful info for shopping in Spokane.
Review 10:The staff were amazingly friendly and helpful. Also the breakfast was a great bonus. The views of the river on one side and the city on the other, provided a beautiful scene.
Review 11:Very quiet room, very comfortable beds, very clean. Maintenance fixed a small problem promptly, cheerfully and completely. Lovely dining room conducive to lingering.
Review 12:Would have liked pancakes or waffles in breakfast buffet.
Review 13:Helpfullness of front desk personnel to get us nice rooms together. Cheerful and informative about a few places to go in area.
Review 14:I was under the impression that it was free parking for our vehicle while we were gone. $5/day wasn't bad, but it was unexpected.
Review 15:Room was clean and comfortable. The shuttle to/from the airport was excellent
Review 16:The girl checking us in didn't offer any info. I had to ask about how to get to my room as well as the next morning find out how to get our breakfast.
Review 17:The soft bed and comfortable bedding! The waiter for the breakfast in the morning was awesome!
Review 18:Room was subpar. Leisure chair upholstery was visibly old and dirty and smelled funky. No shear drapery. If the drapes were closed the room very dark (room darkening drapes). If open, people from other rooms could see directly into the room. I would have switched rooms (should have) but I already had switched once and didn't want to again. Unpleasant stat for these reasons.
Review 19:Location is good and staff was friendly.
Review 20:The breakfast was weird, the eggs I think we're powder eggs they didn't taste right,
Review 21:Location was great! Van driver was also really helpful, the room was clean and comfortable
Review 22:The other times I have met friends from out of the area in Spokane and stayed at the Red Lion it has been in the winter and we had a great time. However, this time we were able to also enjoy your beautiful landscaping. What a wonderful spot for catching up and relaxing!
Review 23:Not too hungry; bar HDO's worked fine while watching football; easy to leave town the next morning. We particularly liked our ground floor room....and we had made what we thought to be a rez...desk clerk made an excellent accommodation at a lower price.
Review 24:Water from the shower kept getting hot and will stay that way if you don't turn it all the way to cold; the lock doesn't work and we were not reminded at the front desk that we needed to put the "Do Not Disturb" sign, and the maid knocked on the door at 8:30, and because the inside lock don't work, she walked in while I was still asleep. (Friends were dropped off earlier at the Amtrak station and I needed more sleep for the long drive back home).
Review 25:It was less expensive then the first Red Lion we stayed at, but would rather pay for that then the second one my friends and I stayed at.
Review 26:I don't even want to say it but one of the first things I notice were two brown streaks on the toilet seat. I had to scrub off with a spare bar of soap. Also, there was a used bar of soap with suds still sitting on the shelf in the shower when I arrived. These two things grossed me out.
Review 27:The young, red-haired man at the service desk was extremely nice and helpful. He always had a smile and made me feel welcome.
Review 28:Our heater was broken, freezing cold all night. Not even one extra blanket. We checked in at 12:00 am because of oir long drive. I walked in to the hotel and hard rock music was blasting, drunk people were loud and crazy. I had a hard time hearingthe reststration clerk. We were tired and thete was no parking because of the bar people. People in the hall were noisy and drunk. The next morning there eas trash all over thr yard with overflowing garbage cans. We will never be back.
Review 29:Carpet in halls needs to be replaced. Bathroom is too small...door should open out not in. Toilet did not work well!!! Bed needs replacing. The hotel needs to be completely renovated. Not worth the money!!!
Review 30:Shuttle. Front desk people were good.
Review 31:the intense artificial scent of yankee candle in the hallways was nauseating!!! it was so loud with people walking down the hallways that i was woken about every 15 minutes until 1a. I had to get up at 5:30 the next morning, so that wasn't pleasant
Review 32:it was cheaper by $40 than the place i normally stay
Review 33:The showers and sink only let out hot water. It was such an inconvenience for my family. I don't think I will ever be staying at the Red Lion again.
Review 34:The queen bed comfortably fit 3 young children.
Review 35:This is a nice property, but avoid the restaurant (Ripples). They severed my wife a salad with wilted lettuce and carrots. I had entirely pedestrian fish and chips. The server seemed totally discombobulated and under trained in finer dining. Ripples was basically Denny's quality at a five star price point. Do not eat there.
Review 36:The location on the river, and proximity to Gonzaga was ideal for us.
Review 37:Pubic hair and thick film in bath tub. When brought to attention of the staff during checkout I was cut off from completing my sentence and felt dismissed without voicing my concern fully. Gregg the front desk attendant at 0430 am appeared uncaring to my complaint.
Review 38:There was a late checkin across the hall (2:00 am). The people made noise, talked very loudly in the hall (sometimes yelling). Late checkin should be given rooms with more convenient locations, plus reminded that other guests are possibly asleep already!! It took us 2 more hours just to get back to sleep....
Review 39:The location was ideal for our planned activities.
Review 40:First person (young woman) who assigned us a room was failed to give us the reservation that I had booked and when I questioned her about the room was dismissive. I had to go back to the desk and show my reservation form to get the room changed per the reservation we made. The second person was very accommodating. Had the first person been so, our experience would have been truly positive. She was not a customer friendly person.
Review 41:The view, the location, the friendly staff at the grill, the breakfast there.
Review 42:This is a large hotel (motel-style) in a nice area near the river. Nice pools and lawn and nice buffet breakfast. We asked for adjoining rooms and got them with no hassle for paraents and kids which was nice. Rooms were comfortable and spacious. A very nice place.
Review 43:The hotel is very long and we where at the far end and it is a walk to pools, lobby and good vending machines and doors are very loud so when the people next to us where drunk and moving rooms at 2 am it woke us up with the doors open and closing over and over also would be nice if they had breakfast that wasn't 10.95 a person my kids Injoy free continental breakfast :)
Review 44:The room is nice and seems to be in a great Part of town close to shopping and fun stuff to do an the hotel was a great price i felt safe with my kids there
Review 45:our first room stunk of smoking and mildew. they moved us and the second room stunk of mildew. the A/C sounded like a truck racing its engine. No fan in the bathroom. A dog barked next door and we called management but they didn't do anything. Ran out of coffee in the morning. Unbelievably bad.
Review 46:I forgot my pillow and they mailed it back (after I paid for shipping)
Review 47:Free wifi cut in and out but you could pay $10 for premium wifi which I didn't try.
Review 48:Nice location on the river, excellent fitness room and a good breakfast buffet, pool area was also nice. Free use of the bikes to ride to Riverside park was also a good feature.
Review 49:I didn't try their restaurant coz I prefer local restaurants. Nothing is perfect but it was good experience with positivity.
Review 50:Easy checked in and out. Friendly staff. Very clean room. Wifi is well-connected. Free airport shuttle.
Review 51:We had 2 bikes stolen from the parking lot. We had locked the bikes to our trailer but the cable was cut. Management, secururity and staff were aware of a problem with loitering in the parking lot at night and theft. Management didn't seem to be concerned about taking steps to deter loitering and theft, such as installing security cameras.
Review 52:Great location on the river, easy access to Centennial Trail for biking & walking.
Review 53:It could use an update. Carpets and walls need a good cleaning. The only A/C is in rooms only, so the hotel is hot everywhere.
Review 54:Staff was nice and friendly.
Review 55:Husband is a 100% disabled vet. Being in section V made it very challenging for him to get to the restaurant. Requested a roll in shower but did not get one....adding another challenge during our stay.
Review 56:Staff is very friendly and willing to go the extra mile to help. Food was good....Patio with view of river was very relaxing
Review 57:Well. we didn't get the type of room we asked for, which was very disappoint, as we booked far far in advance and had Plenty available at that time. Also their was a LIVE SNAKE crawling in the hallway one morning very gross
Review 58:It nice and close to all events for our trip, like Gonzga and Downtown
Review 59:Swimming pool was being refilled and nobody mentiond that there was another pool Service in the bar was poor and they did n't have what we wanted even though it was on their list
Review 60:The location and the comfort of the bed
Review 61:The room was called premium king and boasted about views, yeah my "view" was the tennis court, how romantic. Dirty, hot hallways, no elevator,no room service, no hand soap, nothing special or worth the price
Review 62:The pillows
Review 63:Although I really did not need one, the hotel does not have a elevator. When packing multiple items, it could have been useful.
Review 64:My friends were able to borrow the bikes and was in walking distance to various scenic spots. Also was my reason for booking this location, but did not know about the bikes for use, this was a added bonus!
Review 65:Couldnt get signed into the WiFi
Review 66:Loved the beds and the pool was a great 3 days our family loved it and we plan to return. Thank you and your awesome staff
Review 67:One of the pools was quite filthy. It had big dark floaties in it and many bugs. We then tried the next outdoor pool. It was much nicer, and cleaner. I liked the fact that the pools were handicapped accessible with lifts to get people in the pools
Review 68:The facilities are right on the lake. It was very peaceful. But also very close to shopping and all sorts of activities and restaurants
Review 69:It's a big place. They put me in the last building. Wish I had a bicycle to get to restaurant.
Review 70:They have a nice restaurant. Expect to pay a little more but the food and service was great.
Review 71:Parts of the room were updated but the air conditioner was old and very noisy. Everything in the bathroom was remodeled except for the shower and the tile. There was soap scum on the tile and in the tub.
Review 72:The location wasn't bad. It was a large hotel but older.
Review 73:I was there for 3 days. The breakfast buffet was exactly the same each day. It was marginal at best. The buffet was included in the room price, but was not worth it.
Review 74:The room was pleasant. It was quiet even though I was across from an entry and a vending machine. Nice pillows and lots of them. Cleaning staff did great job. Outside patio on the river is very pretty.
Review 75:I'd asked for a crib. No crib in the room. Called housekeeping. Nice guy delivered the last available crib on property, but was unassembled, and dirty. Was tired, wanted room service. Dialed them using the room service button on the phone, but was directed to an automated human resources voice message system. So tried to call the front desk using special button on phone. Constant busy signal. So, called housekeeping. They came right away to fix it. So, called room service again, only to realize two pages were missing from the room service menu. The lady offered to read me the menu items. After the day I'd had, I went for the burger and fries, and a glass of Pinot Noir. The meal hit the spot, but it came with a glass of white wine, also delicious, but not what I'd ordered.
Review 76:The room was close to the exit. Mom traveling solo w/ a little one in a stroller. Staff was nice, and housekeeping was quick to act. Also, was comped my room service meal + extra $ credit after the disappointing experience.
Review 77:The size of the room. There wasn't no place to sit other than the best and a really disfunctional rolling chair. .
Review 78:We ended up in a handicap room and it was terribly small. All in all it wasn't bad. The beds were great and breakfast was delicious
Review 79:Nothing , everything was just fine
Review 80:Easy parking , clean comfortable room , very friendly staff , great location just off the freeway and next to the river
Review 81:The swimming pool was dirty.
Review 82:Our stay in Red Lion was pleasant and we liked the hotel very much. Even if we stayed for a little,we found it very comfortable. The staff is very friendly and they sent us to the best places of Spokane.
Review 83:Staff not talking to customer with direct eye contact. Two staffers whispering about the room ? Or money to be charged ? Not sure what their problem was? But stood waiting for my room I got on line months ahead!! For 20 minutes staff was not friendly !! Not ever going to book with Red Lion on River Again
Review 84:Close to downtown !
Review 85:The outside restaurant deck/patio and access to the river trail is what it's all about. Great affordable place to stay while in Spokane. Great to walking around and checking out the park and other restaurants, bars, and cafes.
Review 86:Got to room late one evening and both of our keys were not working. Took 3 calls and 30 minutes to get in our room. When we check in they gave us a single room.. it was no problem because they moved us immediately but tried to blame it on Booking.com. It said right on my conirmation Form 2 queen beds.
Review 87:The location was easy to find. The setting was beautiful. Pools leave a lot to be desired. Loved the fire pit area. Beds were very comfort.
Review 88:No hot tub. The air conditioning didn't work very well. The front desk clerk who checked us in was not very friendly.
Review 89:The beds were comfortable and easy access
Review 90:We got to the restaraunt for dinner sat us down no one waited on us we had to ask for water and service after sitting down for 20 minutes
Review 91:There opera system was down could not check had to wait a half hour but they did give us food vouchers for waiting oh and the bed was comfy
Review 92:I find it interesting that u can stay in a motel 8 or any other lesser priced hotel and get a very nice FREE breakfast. Yet I paid way to much for oatmeal at this hotel.
Review 93:I called the shuttle from the airport. The lady said, "I'll see if I have a driver available." This means that the shuttle service can be hit and miss, not something that you can count on 100%.
Review 94:The ladies at the reception desk were great. Dinner and dessert took a long time to arrive, but my waiter Justin was extremely nice.
Review 95:It was over priced for what we paid. The room had a strange odor, the bed post had nail sticking out (I assume it was due to a repair), and the bathroom floor was covered in hair that was by ours. I will never stay at this location again.
Review 96:It was near where we needed to go and close to restaurants, shopping areas, and parks.
Review 97:The rewards program is horrible compared to Hilton or Marriott. I travelconstantly for business and only stay in r l when the marriott courtyardis bad or expensive. Spokane is the only place I like the rl because isis the corp. Headqtr and very nice. Still cant see the value in givingup free vacations at the Ritz in Thailand that I can earn with same timein Marriotts. Really need to create a rewards system for biz travelors. We are your bread and butter.
Review 98:Staff, quiet buildings because they are old, beds not bad.
Review 99:At 3 am we had a fire alarm had to wake children up and go outside for a false alarm took children long time to get back to sleep
Review 100:Very nice staff comfort of the bed location
Review 101:Staff was very accommodating, shuttle provided transportation timely. We used it our entire stay and were able to leave the car parked. Good size room, clean and comfortable.
Review 102:Room was showing signs of aging, especially in the bathroom fixtures but it was clean. Pillows were not that comfortable.
Review 103:Staff was very pleasant and helpful. I can't say enough about how well they treated us. Location is right in the middle of town on the river, so much to do within walking distance.
Review 104:The wait staff was not very organized. She never asked if the food was good. It was horrible! Did tell the front desk and took care of the situation.
Review 105:I was in such a hurry that I forgot my shampoo. I went to the front desk and they gave me a few extras!
Review 106:Probably would of had more of our family stay here if our son could of worked out a group deal. Six rooms were booked. Was a great location, close to wedding and reception.
Review 107:We were able to check in early to get ready for our sons wedding at Gonzaga. Room was nice and warm when we arrived.
Review 108:I cannot think of anything important enough to mention.
Review 109:I've stayed in to many motels over my life and by far my stay at the Red Lion easy was the best experience ever. I have a service dog who was made to feel at home by every one. I've never had any place go as far out of the way to make sure that you enjoy your stay. THIS PLACE ROCKS!
Review 110:Would be nice if the swimming pool were inside to be able to use it all year around.
Review 111:central location, nice room, clean and comfortable. Comfortable bed, I even liked the pillow which I never usually use at hotels. Our breakfast was included in the price and there were lots of good options (bacon, eggs, sausage, etc.). Fitness room. Tennis court and swimming pool are available, just couldn't use them due to the time of year.
Review 112:Hotel surprised me with being much better than I thought. Great price, great location, great service, very comfortable spacious rooms. Very good food, great happy hour, good buffet breakfast.
Review 113:It is a rather large Inn, and you can get placed a few buildings away from the main office. The female at the front desk was a bit cold.
Review 114:There are a fair number of similar places to stay in the same area. It is close to Riverside mall and theaters and downtown-convenient.
Review 115:We received breakfast coupons for the adults, but the 10 and 11 year olds were expected to pay over $10 each to eat there. This is the first time I have ever heard of "free breakfast" not being free for the whole family.
Review 116:Nice and clean.
Review 117:The bathroom could be cleaned a little more efficiently to eliminate odors.
Review 118:I liked the location, the efficiency of the staff, the room, cleanliness, bed quality, breakfast and the value for the money. I will definitely be back.
Review 119:I have been a rewards member for years and got none of the perks this go round. I paid for a superior queen and the woman stuck us in the farthest oldest part of the hotel. Mind you it was not busy or packed.
Review 120:gpod breakfast selection
Review 121:Not very soundproof if you have neighbors above or within the vicinity of your room that are noisy.
Review 122:Lovely location - close to river and pathways to downtown; allows pets; bikes available; nice hot breakfast included; good value for the money; rooms large and beds comfortable; no traffic noise.
Review 123:The roo,s were not very soundproof. You could hear all the noise fron surrounding rooms.
Review 124:The room was very spacious and it had a refrigerator and microwave. We had a nice view of the river. The restaurant had good food and was right on the river.
Review 125:the place was pretty huge so you could end up quite a distance from breakfast (very nice breakfast but)
Review 126:only just started apparently- first two hours free and that's more than enough to whizz around town and get your bearings. great location by the river for a run in the morning
Review 127:Considering I have back issues the bed was too hard for me. Couldn't access the outside door with a key in our building.
Review 128:Everything we wanted to do or see was all very close or within 15 minutes from this location. Loved the River walk. Staff was very friendly.
Review 129:First room they assigned us smelled of cat urine. The second room they assigned us smelled of smoke. There were no other rooms available so chose to take our business elsewhere.
Review 130:I had to wait for several shuttle busses before I could take one to the hotel. Seemed to be some confusion on who was waiting the longest and the order of who should get on the next buss.
Review 131:The staff went above and beyond!
Review 132:Dirt/grime on light switches. Dirt / dust bunnies behind light stand(was looking for phone). Hair - not ours-- in the shower. Had to Jimmie thermostat to get the a/c to turn on. Only stay there because davenport was full.
Review 133:Pleasant staff - bus to and from concert
Review 134:The value for the money is the real standout favorite for us. We've stayed at the Red Lion River Inn when we took our daughter to visit colleges. Now she's there and we make every effort to stay at the Red Lion when we visit her.
Review 135:A little dated overall but still classic. At check out the poor Front desk agent had endless phone calls to answer and people wanting to check out. Being in the industry she handled it great, but I did feel sorry for her! So more staff...
Review 136:Jasmin over the phone and Makala checked me in were wonderful and all staff members were very friendly! And our server for breakfast, can't remember her name :(... Great location, comfy beds, yummy free breakfast!
