Reviews for Piedmont Place
Review 1:The very old, cigarette burned, holed blanket and bed spread. I was afraid to touch it. Found a bit of cannabis in it, as well, which I found somewhat amusing. The thin walls.
Review 2:Loved how close it was to the Grand Lake Theater. 57 bus line right outside.
Review 3:I didnt like how the bathroom was bigger than the room.the towels felt like concrete and when I asked for an exchange they turned up their nose and said they didnt have any The water took 15 - 20 minutes to warm up EACH time I showered. No water pressure in the bathroom sink ---> I FOUND A RAT TRAP UNDER MY BED!!! When you need something THEY ARE SLOW AS HELL but when they need something from you they will HOUND you: Check out is at 11, they were upset I came to the lobby at 1120a to pay for an additional night... UPSET... not happy to be gaining more business, more money.... UPSET!!! THEY ARE RUDE, UNPLEASANT and just overall NOT NICE PEOPLE OR a GOOD BUSINESS
Review 4:I liked the walk in shower with the sliding glass door and how big thebathroom was.I liked the cleanliness of the room.
Review 5:While I was staying there, someone called the room claiming to be from the front desk. They yelled through the phone using abrasive and abusive language. I do not believe it was from the front desk but it was certainly not appreciated in the middle of the night.
Review 6:The staff was really great! They were friendly and available when we needed them.
Review 7:Hard to locate. Small parking area. Only 2 bath towels.Only one soap. No shampoo. No stationary or pen. No guide to tourist attractions or map of area. No coffee/ coffee maker. Not near anuy convinient mini mart or store or resto. No alarm clock or wall clock. Floors creek a lot. Noisy road on the side.
Review 8:Clean and big bathroom. Clean bed sheets. Strong aircon. HBO channel. More movies. Near the freeway
Review 9:Horrible wifi!!! The nearby bridge to San Francisco is always jamed to and from the city! If you can find a hiotel that does not require you to cross a bridge going to San Francisci, is is a better option. Also avoids the toll bridge going into the city.
Review 10:Clean and low cost. Nearby Piedmont street (5-10 min walk) has great restaurants .
Review 11:The location is right on the highway and can be loud depending on the room The rooms are really small and you can hear anything outside or around you like other people above or below i would say ask for a top floor room
Review 12:We were pleasantly surprised with thw updated rooms and cleanliness. The staff was also very helpful and went out of their way to accomodate us
Review 13:We didn't end up staying in the room due to backed up sewage. Returned to our room after an evening out to find feces, urine, and used condoms in our shower. Have been trying to reach the manager for 3 days with no returned phone call.
Review 14:Wi-Fi worked poorly. The room was far from being clean and was pretty shabby. Street noise. No breakfast or even coffee. IMHO, too expensive for such conditions.
Review 15:Close to BART station (about 1,5 km) - a direct train to San Fransisco downtown.
Review 16:The blanket was full of stain. I couldn't stand to look at it, and my spouse removed it right away -- away from my sight. The following day, the housekeeper only changed the towels and the sheet - didn't clean the room at all. There's not much parking lot on the property. Not recommended.
Review 17:Overpriced, but so are the other hotels in Oakland and San Francisco.
Review 18:The hotel was pretty good, the bed was comfortable, nice flat screen TV, large bathroom and I really enjoyed the stay. You can take the bus No. 57 and go straight to BART station MacArthur. From there you can easily reach Sa Francisco downtown and port.
Review 19:- we've booked a non-smoking room and got a smoking room - burn holes from cigarette in the feather quilt - stench from cigarette - room was dirty - bad wifi
Review 20:- large bathroom
Review 21:window screen broken but finally fixed, water leak in one carpet area, somewhat noisy, marginal area next to facilities
Review 22:good location, price, cooperative staff
Review 23:BART is a 10-15 minute walk from hotel, but there is a free shuttle nearby that can take you if you ask at reception. Rooms were big, had queen size bed, which was comfortable. Some stains on carpet, overall clean.
Review 24:We had problem with finding the place even with GPS. No visible sign or name of the hotel on the building. We were trying to find the hotel more than 1 hour driving around the neighbourhood.
Review 25:Room was very clean, quiet. Staff was nice.
Review 26:The heating/air conditioning unit was right next to the bed. The exhaust and super cold air every time I put the heat on dried out my throat. After three days I was sick. I cannot say that was the reason I got sick but It might be better to put the bed on the shower side. However that would probably be more problematic. My room had no microwave. I did not know I needed to request a room with a kitchen to get a microwave.
Review 27:The room was large and spacious. It was quiet. The office staff (Jake) was pleasant and respectful.
Review 28:Window of bathroom not sure if people can see us inside the bathroom. The view outside is not pleasing. No breakfast available nor coffee.
Review 29:New design modern look
Review 30:No hair dryer, but for the price it's fine.
Review 31:Freeway close. Lots of restaurants, bars, cafes within walking distance. Staff was helpful with suggestions of where to eat. Free parking.
Review 32:The wifi wasnt working as fully as it should. Thats thebonly thing.
Review 33:The staff were very friendly and helpfull. They also upgraded our room to kingsize whilst keeping the price the same and when we wanted to stay another night they were very nice to charge the same amount, also when we booked the room they gave us a reply and that was most apreciated! Overall service was great would recommend to anyone!
Review 34:Water in the shower was bearly coming through shower head. Sink didn't drain since the moment we checked in. Asked staff to look at it, wasn't fixed before we checked out. Rusty water in the sink tap, could even brush teeth with that (dark brown)
Review 35:Price, clean room and bed
Review 36:The room was dirty, with little insects on the bathroom flor and on the wall as well. There was also a spider web on the kitchen. We wasn't able to use the towels as they were all dirty, some with dead insects or hair. The bedroom sheets were stained also. When I looked under the bed, there was grose, as if it hadn't been cleaned for days. The hotel is by a ramp that goes to highway, so it was pretty noisy and we couldn't sleep properly. I read te reviews before booking it, so I thought it was worth it, but it was definitely the worst hotel/motel I've been to.
Review 37:The staff is the only good point about this hotel. They were able to change our room as we are a non smoking couple.
Review 38:no coffee had 2 drive one mile to 7 11 twice in 2 days to get morning coffee and cake
Review 39:beds very comfortable , family run hotel good knowledge of the area told me to park at Oakland coliseum bart station for 8 dollars instead of 20 or 25 and walk across the bridge nice , great television selections in the hotel room with mlb and nfl networks , free parking
Review 40:not a bad experience - just wish we had had either a microwave or a coffee pot.. a fridge would have been nice as well - we stayed over a week
Review 41:staff was very helpful and accomidating - i like seeing they are updating an older facility (have been here before) very close to where we needed to be in a nice area
Review 42:Customer service was ok. They didnt want to give us extra towels because our dirty towels had makeup on them. What else do I wash my face off with? They said they had to throw the towel away when they could've just washed it. It was just makeup I hope I do not get charged for it. There was no dresser in the room. Just a table and chairs. For 92$ a night we had no where to put our clothes. For using a vaporizer we had to get a smoking room which smelled like smoke and wasn't pleasant smell. Vape doesn't leave a smell so I don't know why we had to get a smoking room but whatever. The ac worked but it was still kind of warm inside. The window had no screen so bugs got in when we had the window open. The first night they were hesitant about giving us extra towels when we got there they said there were towels in there but we wanted to shower at that time and go out and then shower before bed when we got back they didn't want to give us towels and said they would send house keeping and never did. When we got back my boyfriend had to go get towels and they kept asking how many people we had in the room. The next day we went out and came back room was not cleaned the bed was not made and new towels were not left because of the makeup incident they just picked up the towels and left the rest of the room how it was the garbage may have been dumped but I didn't noticed I did notice the bed was still a mess. We had to take showers with no towels when we got back They did eventually allow us to get 4 big towels we didn't recieve face towels. Overall it was decent place not worth 100$ a night spend a little more and go to the Hilton in emeryville even the continental lodge right next to downtown Oakland literally 3 min away on international for 88$ a night was better and had furniture to put your clothes had a fridge and microwave I rather go there next time.
Review 43:The bathroom was nice size and updated. Nice location near downtown Oakland. Really close to freeway. The TV was a nice flat screen
Review 44:No refrigerator, 25 cents for ice, limited on-site parking, no breakfast, price expensive for the amenities
Review 45:Located in a safe neighborhood near the interstate, 20-30 minute walk to BART, spacious room with multiple counters, staff helped me look up addresses in San Francisco (I was traveling without a smart phone or computer), on-site parking
Review 46:Area, exterior, parking, have to pay for ice!!
Review 47:Scary at first sight but the staff was nice. The rooms were recently remolded . Great showers, ok beds, small rooms , the towels AWFUL!! Linens ok but could be better. It's has that feel of just not clean enough! I understand it is about standard for the area but price for week night avg $100 which seemed way to much for what you got!!! The biggest disappointment was they didn't have the baggies to put ice in buckets and on top of that you had to PAY for ice!!! That disappointed me greatly. When you don't have a great product seems customer satisfaction should be above and beyond!!
Review 48:Room very small with bathroom right by highway, very noisy. Towels did not look clean. Had to pay for ice. Parking lot way too small and hard to access. Got a much nicer room at a Best Western in another city for the same price.
Review 49:Loud traffic noise around motel as it's just off the freeway.Might be a problem if you are a light sleeper.A bit tricky to find motel after the freeway turn off as you could easily miss the extreme left lane leading to the motel. No fridge in room and staff does not accede to request to chill stuffs if you need to.Not much eateries around motel.
Review 50:Room was bigger than we expected for a double queen bedded.Toilet looked like it had just been renovated.Shower pressure and wifi strength was good.10-15mins drive to San Francisco city.Relatively low price as compared to other properties in and around San Francisco.Free parking.
Review 51:The bathroom wasn't as clean as expected ( some hair was founded), there are no bedside table to put your small items on.
Review 52:The hotel itself is safe despite the location in a town with bad reputation. Very good cozy bed you sleep like on a cloud :)
Review 53:The towels are way too small and poorly laundered, very hard and scratchy. The biggest towel does not even wrap round the average adult.
Review 54:Easy access to I-580 and the bridge into SF. Great places to eat close by in Piedmont Avenue. Polite and helpful owner. Freshly decorated room with good bed.
Review 55:Staff were friendly; the accommodations simple but well maintained. Located a few blocks from the businesses on Piedmont (restaurants, coffee, grocery, etc.).
Review 56:In addition to continuing to be clean, safe and quiet, there are new additions with every visit. This time, were a small refrigerator and microwave in the room.
Review 57:No coffee. The parking was very tight.
Review 58:The staff were very friendly and helpful. The price was fair. The location was perfect for catching the BART shuttle. There were very few amenities, but we didn't need any. We were only there to sleep. However, it would have been a big plus to be able to have coffee in the morning!
Review 59:One of the best motels ever! Great value for price-nice, clean rooms (must have been renovated recently I think!), good location. Friendly and helpful staff and fast wi-fi - I don't ask for more! :)
Review 60:There were dried "spills" on the steps leading up to my room Not enough parking available for the number of rented rooms. Towels were somewhat thin.
Review 61:The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. My room appeared to have a renovated show with new sliding glass doors. Water pressure in shower was sufficient.
Review 62:good location, seemed pretty safe, we had a car so it was easy to drive everywhere, only 10 min to oakland chinatown, comfortable bed, excellent wifi, nice staff, and the cheapest we could find in oakland!
Review 63:There was no fridge in the room and the staff declined to save some perishable items in their fridge (they said they had none but I was able to see it). Also, I asked for 2 extra blankets and I was only provided with 1 because, according to the staff, they didn't have more.
Review 64:Clean. Good WiFi, good location near trendy neighborhood.
Review 65:I didn't like that it wasn't a close place to get hot food or microwaves .
Review 66:We liked the upgraded room and the bathroom was super clean as well as the room . The updated TVs where a nice touch .
Review 67:They didnt have extra amenities. It was very basic, but management said they will be improving that Soon.
Review 68:The staff was helpful, room was clean, and it was located in a nice neighborhood.(remodeled)
Review 69:wifi strength, room smell
Review 70:kind staff, reasonable price. as a long-term traveler we couldn't find cheap place to stay in those area, because it was Valentine Day. And this place was a good option for us.
Review 71:Cleanliness could be much improved, the hairs in the towels were disgusting! Very loud because of the traffic from the street, couldn't have good sleep. The AC didn't work, so it was freezing the first night, as there was no blanket in the room.
Review 72:Close to the highway, nice staff, good Wi-Fi. Walkable (10-15 min) from the BART station.
Review 73:Extremely sketchy looking, staff didn't speak great English.
Review 74:The room was extremely clean. Bathroom was large, room was comfortable. Wifi and cable worked properly. Price was very reasonable and it worked perfectly for my needs. Didn't personally run into any shady characters despite other reviews. Staff was friendly.
Review 75:Limited amenities. Ice costs $0.25. Blanket quite lightweight. No shower cap. Only toiletries 2 little bars of soap.
Review 76:Safe, clean, quiet for a woman traveling alone. Location carefully researched by a friend who lives in the area. A family-run business. Nice effort on decor, color coordination, but clearly done on a limited budget with Formica tabletop, two basic chrome and vinyl chairs.
Review 77:The price, staff and affordability. Bus line across the street and a bart station not far as well. By tons of good restaurants, parks and a hospital. Gas station/store across the street.
Review 78:No closet or hair dryer in room. Online pictures give a different perspective than what you see when you arrive. I thought the tariff was a bit pricey.
Review 79:Remodeled bathroom was nicest part of the room.
Review 80:Sheets were stained, worn through and very off colour. Room was somewhat over powered with air freshener. Cleaning ladies would stop and watch us when we left the premises.
Review 81:Colour scheme, staff stuck to their security policies (although it was inconvenient for us!), they put air freshener in the room for us as we booked a smoking room when we're non-smokers. Modern bathroom.
Review 82:Treated me and my service dog like vagrants and tried forcing us to move rooms despite us NOT wanting to move. Also, the cleaning lady is terribly rude and bangs unnecessarily LOUDLY on door! Rude!
Review 83:1.bathroom hasn't neither shower gel nor shampoo!!! 2.the price is a little bit more than other motels
Review 84:1.The staff was very friendly 2.the location was good and near to public transportation 3.bed is very good.
Review 85:No fridge. Bigger tv please.
Review 86:I was expecting a rundown place ,but I was surprised the moment I stepped in to the room. Value for the money is there. I stayed here one night on a weekend in San Francisco. One night in oakland, one in downtown San Francisco. I slept better and didn't have to pay for parking here. If what your looking for is free parking and a good place to sleep in , with a nice shower and a ok t.v. with cable I highly recommend this place. Saved over $200.00 then when I stayed in downtown and in downtown the room was small. *Cough cough whitcomb hotel*
Review 87:- very rude managers. I had requested an hour extension for checkout thru booking.com, they agreed to do so.when I came to the hotel the other day, they were not aware of this request. So i kindly asked them to extend an hour til 12nn and said yes. The checkout day at around 11, housekeeper knocked the door so loud and kept telling we need to check out. I talked to the manager telling her that I thought we had an agreement. Apparently she didnt understand the agreement and hurriedly wanted us to leave. The housekeeper wants to collect all the towels when some of us still havent showered. Omg, people here arent hospitable, they're all rude. Bad customer service experience!
Review 88:- clean beds, walls, bathrooms, equipments - cheap - free wifi - ample parking
Review 89:We got there, the people running the salon were very nice ! The room was clean the bathrooms were really nice!!! The area isn't too bad ... the morning we were going to check out we were getting ready to shower and the tub was clogged we went to the front desk and they sent us to a new room to shower they made sure we had towels and everything was clean I was very happy with the service
Review 90:they were runnig a prostitution ring upstairs above our room, girls up and down stairs every half hour with a john, very disturbing, literally all night long.
Review 91:we needed to stay overnight in that area
Review 92:dirty. the sheets seemed like they were washed, but looked permanently stained and had holes. pillows were old and gross. It was hard to find and I didn't feel my car was safe parking there
Review 93:Worn out and scratched up furniture, no drawers to unpack clothes to, shower curtain was dirty, tile walkways outside need cleaning, strange woman knocked on the door each day at 10 AM demanding used towels.
Review 94:Location, price, the owners / management were very nice, large room and bathroom, air-conditioning was great (otherwise the room would have been very hot).
Review 95:Check in is listed as 2pm. If u get there at 2pm be prepared to check inat 3pm. Also, check out is at 11am. Be prepared to have someone poundingon your door at 10:30am. Annoying!!!!!!
Review 96:The area was decent.
Review 97:I didn't like how the place had no fridge/microwave/iron I didnt like that when i checked in, the bed has stains as well as a ripped bed sheet The staff were not very helpful and the maid would bang my door like the police everyday waking me up, only to collect dirty towels The location, especially at night is a bit dodgy (avoid walking at night)
Review 98:The bathroom and shower were decent The air-con was convienient as the rooms get quite humid
Review 99:The next BART station is around 1.5 miles away, but has parking spots (fee!). The staff could have been much more helpful and friendly, I did not accept the first room (was smelling), what seemed to overstrain the receptionist.
Review 100:The room offered a comfortable bed, enough space and a renovated bathroom. The free parking could be seen from the room.
Review 101:Nothing
Review 102:It is very close to a lot of nice spots. The staff was nice. The patio and all was not super clean, but as for the room it was very good. The bathroom was so big and clean.
Review 103:It's hard to see. It would be nice if they had clear directions in their blurb.
Review 104:It was walking distance from where I wanted to be. When they saw I was on crutches, they changed their schedule around so I could have a ground floor room. The bed was soft! Yay. No closet, wardrobe, dresser, breakfast, or maid service except for clean towels, but that was why it was so cheap, so I didn't mind.
Review 105:The ONLY issue was that there was no fridge.
Review 106:Very clean. Comfortable. Large updated bathrooms. Decor was nice and modern. Close to public transportation as well as interstate to get to San Fran.
Review 107:No curb appeal - In this neighborhood, right next to an on-ramp to 580, I almost turned around and left as the exterior is a bit rough, needs a good steam clean on the walk areas and stairs, and no plants in the planters. Rooms did not have mini fridge or microwave, which would have been a huge plus, also the building is older so although the rooms are clean and freshly painted, there was still a musty odor which was displaced easily with a room freshening spray.
Review 108:Overall, clean and neat with a comfortable bed, good TV channel selection and easy Wi-Fi access and log in. Especially impressed with the staff in the office. I am booking again as this is a good alternative to my long commute and the price is the best in the area and was within walking distance to work.
Review 109:Towels changed every day, but after a few hours of putting old. No toilet paper.
Review 110:Well-functioning Wi-Fi in the room on the ground floor near reception. Comfortable bed, spacious room, bathroom newly renovated, the best of all the objects in which we stayed in the USA. Free parking. Service guarded object all the time. The location next to the highway to San Francisco and take you 15 minutes. Price is not the lowest, but comparing with San Francisco is the optimum choice. The area has a small shopping center and a pizzeria, Subway, Starbucks.
Review 111:When I asked for extra provisions, a homeless looking woman came to my door to drop it off She was rude and asked why I didn't pick it up myself. I said I was in a robe. The staff said she helps out. I've never encountered a homeless looking woman helping out a motel
Review 112:Polite office staff
Review 113:None.
Review 114:Clean room. Very good and very helpful staff. Value for money.
Review 115:Location to work related trip. 10 minute walk to Bart. Place is almost done being remolded. Rooms and bathrooms all new.
Review 116:........its clean quiet.
Review 117:Charge for ice
Review 118:Clean and quite
Review 119:no elevator, weird smell in room
Review 120:Location
Review 121:Thy didn't have fridges in rooms.
Review 122:Hotel room was clean.
Review 123:Parking - spots too tight and not enough parking
Review 124:The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean
Review 125:To basic for me. No microwave, fridge, coffeemaker. You even have to pay for THE icemachine.
Review 126:Nice clean basic room.
Review 127:Nothing in special, found everything in order.
Review 128:Used this place to visit later San Francisco, easy to get to the road from here
Review 129:Very clean motel with a lot of comfort. Close to SFO when you take the Bart.
Review 130:AWFUL LOCATION!!!! Stay away, horrible part of town!
Review 131:Was a little loud outside
Review 132:It was clean
Review 133:Toilet seat was loose but i didnt take the time to let them know
Review 134:Employees very nice and helpful. Very impressed by cleanliness of room
