Reviews for Victoria Chau Doc Hotel
Review 1:Our room on the third floor overlooking the Mekong was breath taking at all hours of the day and night. Early morning breakfast on the terrace overlooking the awakening Mekong was perfect. The swimming pool was just what we needed after our busride from the Delta.
Review 2:A bit pricey - but I think there is a premium added for the beauty of the building. You take a choice to pay it.
Review 3:Location perfect for town Ann market and old colonial decor stunning. Pool a blessing in heat
Review 4:Don't understand why this is rated8.7 as we found this property not only super beautiful but professionally operated by kind ,considerate staff!! The hotel has the feel of the exquisite era. I would rate it as a 10 !!
Review 5:Loved the view over the river, watching the river life. The guest relations manager was very welcoming and extremely helpful. The breakfast was delicious and there was a wide variety of food. The manager also booked our ongoing trip to Phnom Penh on the Victoria Hotel speedboat. Our boat had 8 passengers and we arrived at the border ahead of the larger boats. This meant that our processing was very quick and efficient. Loved the Happy Hour and also the picnic lunch boxes the hotel provided. We also would recommend Buffalo Tours for the all day trip which included the Bird sanctuary. Book this tour at the hotel. The driver was very safe and both he and the tour guide had great English. Nothing was too much trouble. The lunch was excellent too. The pool at Chau Doc is not as large as the one at Victoria Can Tho, but it is great watching the busy river life as you lounge around the pool. Tip: Book a room with a river view and if possible a room with a balcony. Also visit the market in Chau Doc. It is a local market and the fruits, vegetables, fish and smells are really amazing.
Review 6:Good facilities with a very good restaurant. Excellent breakfast. Speedboat to Phnom Penh, which is organised by the hotel, is a pleasant and easy way to cross from Vietnam to Cambodia.
Review 7:Hard bed & odd shaped shower with poor quality shower head - water all over bathroom floor
Review 8:Location right on the Mekong with a view of the floating fish farms.
Review 9:-
Review 10:Atmosphere was perfect, with an excellent kitchen (breakfast was rich and variable, late dinner also delicious). Massage and spa in hotel is a bit expensive but totally worth its price. We upgraded our Superior room to one with river-view - because based on others' comments rooms towards street are noisy - also was a good advice.
Review 11:Really nice Hotel, especially the rooms with river view are great. The main reason why we choose this hotel was because they offer a boat trip to Phom Phen for their customers which we booked. Boat trip was also good.
Review 12:Mosquitos everywhere and terrible dinner
Review 13:Athmophere
Review 14:Good location Great service and boat to chai doc excellent
Review 15:To expansive for the condition and facilities
Review 16:The view is amazing
Review 17:Took the boat up the river to Phnom Penh...poor value compared to other speedboat operators!
Review 18:Spectacular views from room overlooking the river!
Review 19:Beautiful hotel on the river. Nice place to rest for a day or two ..
Review 20:The staff at the desk was not so kind neither helpfull.
Review 21:Lack of vegetarian choices on the menu.
Review 22:Great location and easy transfer to Pnomh Penh on the hotel's speed boat.
Review 23:Wonderful relaxing hotel with a pool overlooking the river and all the activity upon it. Likewise with the restaurant for breakfast and dinner.Spa on the roof was also very good
Review 24:It was a little difficult to find anything interesting near the hotel or then we just walked to a wrong direction...
Review 25:We had a suite and it has a beautiful, old-fashioned athmosphere, nice decorated and amazing view to the river. The pool was situated by the river, although sun didn´t shine there in the afternoon. We had a hotel´s speed boat to Phnom Penh, so it was really easy to get up early in the morning and just walk to hotel´s peer. We loved the athmosphere of the hotel and hope we can return one day.
Review 26:There was a bit of a damp smell in our room when we first arrived. It would have been nice if the pool terrace received sunlight in the afternoon. It was gone by the morning, but it was still a lovely place to sit and watch the world go by.
Review 27:The breakfast was lovely. It's also a very handy place to stay if you're getting the boat to Phnom Penh
Review 28:Very friendly and helpful staff. Great location for taking a river cruise and very close to the pleasant promenade and bustling street market. Good quality meals and a very pleasant riverside outdoor area to relax and/orenjoy a drink.
Review 29:The fact they decided to repaint the swimming pool floor just the morning when you can enjoy the sun, the fact they are not very flexible when it comes to organize excursions , the high price for excursions (compared with the cost of life in this country)
Review 30:Food is good and rooms are charming
Review 31:the standard of Victoria Chau Doc Hotel is a little below the other Victoria-Hotels I know (Can Tho, Phan Thiet/Mui Ne)
Review 32:nice charming hotel in colonial style; staff very friendly (as on most places all over Vièt Nam), terrace overlooking the river; choose river view room if possible
Review 33:No sun at the poolside in the afternoon. Only a few beds around the pool because it's so small. Therefore it's also very noisy when childeren playing. Rooms are too small to fit all in (desk, small table and chair) so it's really packed. Conditions of the rooms are a bit outdated, especially the bathrooms.
Review 34:Great view of the Mekong Delta. Delicious breakfastbuffet.
Review 35:Nothing of any significance.
Review 36:Swimming pool, very good restaurant food (not the cheapest but reasonable), tour to Sam mountain, we were upgraded to river view for no charge, staff pleasant, cheerful and well trained. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Conveniently placed for boat pick up to Phnom Penh although we used a different company for the boat.
Review 37:The Gym, lack of modern equipment . The room is too small. The equipment is too old. The treadmill is small and the Weight is old. Its need a good upgrade because there is not much things to do at Chau Doc. New gym will give guests a pleasant work out and more relaxing. The pool need to clean more.
Review 38:Staffs service and attention to details. the pool is nice and the view of the river is nice
Review 39:Nothing
Review 40:Everything
