Review 1:This place is an absolute disgrace. The room we were given looks nothing like the picture it is beat up, dirty and the floors and walls are falling apart. We didn't use a blanket because there were stains on them. There were bugs coming out of the piece of bubbled floor in the bathroom. While we were out a maid took our blanket and sheets out of the room when we returned she told another maid to put sheets in the room for us, to which the maid laughed and never showed up. We had to ask the front desk lady for sheets she was very nice and very helpful. Around 11:30 pm someone knocked on our door we were so startled we didn't answer when we got up to look no one was there. There is way too much activity outside which is very unsettling. I was afraid there are many sketchy people walking around a whole lot of cars coming and going because of the 24 hour Waffle House right next door. If you stay here you will be too afraid to sleep. I highly recommend never coming here.

Review 7:The night time window is very off-putting. The paint on the walls was peeling and there was a roach in my shower. Also, the bathroom light wasn't working.

Review 8:The facilities seem to be undergoing some renovation. The furniture is newer than the rest of the building and there seems to be an effort to update the amenities.

Review 9:The room we stayed in had holes in the bathroom door and walls, that had been cover with plaster, but never sanded or painted to make it look like a normal door or wall. The bathroom light switch was TAPED to the wall, and when you turned it on, the fan sounded so loud. Would NEVER stay here again, or recommend it to anyone.

Review 11:I had to be booked in three different rooms. First room, no bathroom light. Second room, alarm chirping. Third room, bathtub faucet dripped constantly. I stayed in that room and just shut the bathroom door.

Review 15:Our first room had a "tweeting smoke alarm" that was connected with wires in the wall. So we went from 2 double beds in that room to a room with 1 king size bed (for my husband, myself and my sister).

Review 16:It is very conveniently located to the Charlotte airport. They provided free shuttle service to and from the airport (though I did give the woman a tip). There was no continental breakfast but The Waffle House was close.

Review 17:the sheets on the bed where dirty. They were covered in spots with hair all over it. The bed looked like a pet slept in it and sheaded the whole night. The remote to the TV was sticky. There was pubic hair all over the bathroom floor and tub.

Review 25:The rooms were extremely clean, they are under new ownership now and you can tell how much work has been placed into renovating the hotel. Love to the fact that they had hardwood laminate floors instead of nasty hotel carpet

Review 26:While I was there my friends & I was bitten by bed bugs. I got bitten all over my body including my face. I will never stay there every again. The manager did give my $$ back but I don't feel like that enough. Something else needs to be done.

Review 29:They have definitely done some upgrades since the previous comments were left. New management effective 9/11/15. They cleaned the place up (based on reviews) and added security cameras and safety policies. The location was good, food within walking distance. Rooms were clean, beds were comfy, shower was hot with great pressure. This was a great last-minute booking and I would stay here again if visiting the area.

Review 30:Minor complaints: Still some cosmetic exterior re-construction issues, but these I'm sure will be solved soon enough. Wish there was shampoo offered and not just soap.

Review 32:The manager ask me to check out and go somewhere else for couple days. When I pay my money and no problems with me. That was inconvenience being from out of town. Public transportation only use I have to get around.

Review 34:We had a delay in our flight out of Boston, missing our connecting flight in Charlotte, NC. I booked a room so I could at least get 5 hours sleep before next leg of our trip to Denver. I contacted the hotel a little before midnight and the desk clerk said van would be there by midnight. at 0015hrs I called and no one answered. I called an additional 4 times and still no answer (and no shuttle van). Finally at 0040hrs my family and I went back in airport and 'slept' on airport chairs. We were exhausted to say the least. I'm fairly pissed off about the whole thing.

The pamphlets and menus were covered in driedbeer. Air conditioner leaked badly. When I told the check-in lady thenext morning[ could not the evening before because the guy was outsidethe check-in office for a real long time in one of the underconstruction rooms] she said that the room we were in was newlyremodeled and that was it. Review 41:I did not like the room we were in. Upon arrival on a 90 degree day the central heat was blasting in the room. We then left our belongs after discovering why the room was so hot thinking that would give the room time to cool off. We then explored the area. Returned where people were hanging out. We assumed there was a local club near by. Which made parking etc very uncomfortable. Other issues with room: The sink in the room would not properly drain. The bathroom wrecked of bleach but was dirty as ever There were not enough towels There were still ashes on the bed (room was non smoking by the way) The covers on the bed were really dirty Bed was very uncomfortable The wifi didnt properly work I can go on and on. We def looked out the window regretting not booking the La Quinta across the street. By the way the room never really cooled off!!!!!!!!!!

Review 42:I didn't like anything about the hotel. It is in a terrible neighborhood and the rooms were awful. The photos online are not the real deal. I wouldn't advise anyone to stay at this hotel

Review 43:You're in a very bad side of town and the doors don't lock properly. The walls are paper thin and the rooms are extremely dirty,from sticky floors to unknown stains.

Review 55:The door gets jammed once in a while. It just took a little shimmy. But when it's negative 25 outside, a few seconds can feel a little longer.

Review 56:I came to Charlotte to rest after spending time with family for 2 weeks in SC before going to California to spend more time with more family. My room was a perfect size to be comfortable and relaxed. Very short walk to a wonderful Waffle House, cheap Asian buffet and a cozy Cracker Barrel. Shoutout to the wonderful lady who had to step in for a driver's absence, and had to borrow a shuttle from a sister company. Thank you for acting so fast, I didn't lose a single minute.

Review 57:My wife and I ate not smokers but as soon as we walked in the room a strong smell of smoke came out of our room and we smelled it all night. There was a hole on the wall you could see in between the walls. The TV did not work so we watched static all night.

Review 58:They are in the middle of renovating. Superior business suite was not what it looked like in photos. Vanity light didn't work, missing a night stand, no iron in the room, shower had rust stains, toilet set was peeling, etc.

Review 60:Someone had smoked in the room. It was midnight and I was too tired to change rooms. Not really the hotel's fault, but nevertheless, it made for just a bearable night. Also, did not like the fan in the bathroom. Too loud, light too dim. Did not like being on the first floor.

I stayed there overnight for a flight layover, and was awakened at 3am by a bunch of police cars, cops walking around, and an ambulance... something was going down but I don't know what. It's also dingy, moldy, hard beds, crappy AC unit... just a nasty place all around.

Review 67:motel was run down - nothing like the pictures on website. At least 10 years out of date. Room smelled badly. door had previously been broken into. Sink was stopped up. toilet was slow and took 10 minutes to fill. After 5 hours of sleep-left quickly to avoid shady looking characters.

Review 68:Not a thing. Bad smell in the room no where to put my luggage but on the side of the bed I wasn't sleeping on. Microwave didn't work water wasn't hardly warm not table in the room no coffee maker so I could do hot tea. No hair dryer iron or iron board hard wood floor that were slippery I should get a refund or something.

Also shuttle bus from airport wouldn't answer their phone and returning to the airport the next morning we had to be there 1 hour early but it was stated buses run every 15 minutes.

Review 72:Front desk host helpful but totally overwhelmed with no help. Room was worse I have ever stayed in. Smelled bad, ceiling had water stains, carpet was gross, bathroom door was coming apart and had nails sticking out of it. Our car was parked directly in front of office - and trunk was broken into. Will not stay at Red Roof again, and will most likely not use booking.com based on thier recommendation.

Review 73:the cleanliness, the ripped drapes the dirty bathtub, toilet, sink. The bed felt like sleeping on a slab of marble. The room smells like sour fruit for some reason. It was just bad.

I toilet seat was broken there wasno towel rack just had clean towel of the lid of the broken toilet whichran all the time and was loud. At 6 am we were woken by several peopleoutside that appears to live at this hotel as they where getting therethings from the u haul that took up several parking spaces. I had topark in the back which wasn't well lit and walk around the buildingin the dark just to get to my room. Very unhappy !

Review 78:It was trash!! the light fixtures were barely hanging on the walls, there was NO flat screen tv, only an old tube tv, to which there was NO remote!! The door looked as though it had been broken into prior to my stay! The metal was bent back the frame was scraped up. There was a half inch gap in the door when it was shut and locked!! The chair was DISGUSTING!!! it was COVERED on stains!! I wouldn't touch it!! there was VERY sketchy activity outside ALL nite long!! Lots of noises and commotion all hours of the nite!! I did NOT fell safe AT ALL!!! The parking lot was very dim lit & I was even in fear of my vehicle through the nite!! Do not stay here!! It is NOT at ALL what it appears to be online!!!

Review 79:We were allowed to have our dog. She pulled a pair of dirty men's underwear from under the bed. The staff wouldn't put her cigarette out and come inside to discuss the matter with me. She told me to dispose of them myself because had no way to track down who they belonged to (not what I was after). The bedspread has cigarette burns, the bathroom was nasty and the walls were stained. I have photos.

Review 92:We booked this hotel specifically for the complimentary airport shuttle. However, we waited at the airport for over an hour trying to call the hotel to contact the shuttle. The phone rang for a few minutes and no one picked up, so we tried a different number listed for the hotel. We got redirected a few times and were put on hold for a long time before getting dropped from the call. Finally, an airport employee called the driver of the shuttle and we were taken to the hotel. The room was okay, but the main issue was the staff not being available and not doing their jobs.
