Reviews for Red Lion Hotel and Conference Center St. George
Review 1:The room was in need of updating it looked old and wasn't in great shape. Some things looked patched together.
Review 2:Enjoyed the price and the breakfast was good.
Review 3:Not enough blankets plus walking distance to office Difficulty in finding place since their out door sign was not lighted
Review 4:Location and staff Really enjoyed breakfast and historical photos
Review 5:A little noisy in the room next door. Heater was quite noisy. Girl on desk at check-in having "computer" problems.
Review 6:Good price at $50. Came with refrigerator, microwave, and good selection of TV channels. Good free breakfast. Free Wifi. Close to great stores and restaurants.
Review 7:The room had a strong mildewy smell - I believe from the carpet - that was very unpleasant and difficult to ignore (and it was late, I didn't want to deal with trying to change rooms). Otherwise, the room was clean, though on the worn side.
Review 8:The staff was friendly, efficient and helpful. The linens were nice. I appreciated the nicer shampoo and lotion and the sink/counter/mirror separate from the bathroom/shower.
Review 9:The TV was situated in the middle between the two rooms. Awkward to view from one or the other. The furniture was stained.
Review 10:I liked having 2 bathrooms in the suite.
Review 11:Many things in poor repair. Our door stuck and was difficult to open and close securely. We were too tired to try and change rooms.
Review 12:Location. Nice lobby.
Review 13:Mainly the complaints were in the room, the door didn't lock easily, weatherstripping around the door was nonexistent – felt a definite draft as it was only about 20° outside, ants throughout the room, dated bathroom features. Telephone to the front desk didn't work.
Review 14:Courteous staff at breakfast refilled my water bottle with ice, front desk staff was nice, room was available to book with only half hour's notice (sleepy on the road).
Review 15:We found the room online and called to find out more information. I would rather book directly with the hotel, but the price was higher that way. We booked online and got the cheaper rate. I would like to get the best price when I call the hotel directly.
Review 16:It was a last minute booking, but everything went very smoothly. We loved our room, the pool, breakfast, and the staff! We will definitely stay here again!
Review 17:The restroom door hinge is kind of squeaky.
Review 18:The lady at the counter is really kind and helpful. The pool and game room are very good. The breakfast is very good.
Review 19:We had ants in our room. They were crawling on my son's phone on the nightstand and on the bed. There was pet hair on the bed, which we discovered the next morning. It gave me hives and itchy, swollen red eyes. The carpet was stained and dirty, the furniture was really dusty and the room wasn't heated upon arrival. It took an hour to get it warm. We got a great deal so maybe they gave us a weird room?
Review 20:Pool table was fun, cute toiletries, microwave and fridge in room
Review 21:Bedding came loose. Sink backed up. Called to get it fixed, still clogged. Noisy bathroom fan, poor bathroom lighting in shower. Television out for a day.
Review 22:Friendly staff. Good breakfast.
Review 23:This is apparently a property in transition, just purchased from another hotelier. Rooms should have been repaired and refurbished prior to opening again to guests. Bathroom was miniscule.
Review 24:The staff and breakfast are exceptional.
Review 25:My only complaint would be the sofa/sleeper. It sank below the edge of the couch making sitting uncomfortable. Thank goodness for the desk chair and the bed for other choices.
Review 26:Check in was smooth and fast after a long day on the road. Our cat enjoyed the room as much as we did! It was very quiet and felt comfortable. Would stay here again!
Review 27:We liked everything.
Review 28:Room was very nice and updated, beds were very comfortable. Room was clean. Breakfast was great. Price was terrific! Pool looked nice although we didn't have time to use it.
Review 29:They ran out of wash cloths and did not clean our room one day. It was a busy holiday weekend and they were not prepared for a full house.
Review 30:The breakfast was excellent and the room was a nice size for the four of us.
Review 31:Although pretty, the pool inside would make the rest of the hotel feel humid and smell like chlorine. The balcony is permanently locked and there is no way to get fresh air in the room. The thermostat kept falling apart when tried adjusting the tempature. The cleaning staff blocked us from entering and leaving the building. We had to physically move their equipment to get by.
Review 32:Location was great
Review 33:The property was seedy - rooms barely clean (don't look behind anything even if you need a plug), shower curtain didn't close so floor was always wet. "down at the mouth" is the feeling
Review 34:Very convenient for the one night passing through St. George. The staff was fantastic, access to laundry was very helpful, and the breakfast was simple but free!
Review 35:Overall Room was really dirty with lots of dust on furniture and top window treatments, bathtub that would not drain, mold in bathroom, rusted refrigerator, stained walls, dirty carpet and one dirty hand towel. Offered to show staff pictures and was basically told there was a recent change in hotel ownership with no other explanation. I stayed here about two years back and wow have these rooms gone down hill.
Review 36:Good location, nice pool area, good breakfast and friendly staff.
Review 37:we stayed here for quick connection to zion canyon, but it was about 45 mins away. other than that, the facility was great, personnel were accommodating and friendly.
Review 38:The staff was extremely helpful. The room was clean and very comfy. The facility is in transition from one Lexington to Red Lion and that leaves it a little rough around the edges. The pool area was clean but looked a little run down. There was once a restaurant at the hotel but there is not now. All in all, a nice, clean property in a reasonable central location. And the price was reasonable.
Review 39:The toilet was clogged and we had to change rooms. The outside light was flashing and made us dizzy. The outside door wouldn't shut tight. The guest clerks didn't help.
Review 40:We loved the location and the hot breakfast.
Review 41:Jacuzzi was broken when we were there.
Review 42:Great breakfast! Nice size rooms. Fridge and microwave are helpful - Were having a fall discount when we traveled.
Review 43:This is a old hotel that needs new upgrade. lock on room door did not work properly, bathroom toilet clogged, rugs are old and stained
Review 44:The staff was great.
Review 45:the shower curtain was so wrinkled that look disgustingthe phone didn't work and we had trouble with our door we had to call maintenance when we were returning to our room one day there were workers sitting in the room next to ours on their phones
Review 46:the bed
Review 47:The room was noisy (the fridge I think). We had to pay extra for a roll away bed. Pool seemed dirty. Food was aweful.
Review 48:We used to love this place, but I think it's gone way down hill. Not much that I liked about it.
Review 49:Staff was friendly & helpful. The beds were amazing. First time we all slept in! The place is a little dated, but I like that abt it. It didn't feel sterile, it felt cozy & comfortable. We spent time in the lobby just relaxing. Really good experience.
Review 50:Need to water plants!! Some furniture in lobby need to be replaced! Room not totally clean! Some of soiled linen not removed! Toilet very low!
Review 51:Warmly welcomed by Peter and Kaylin on late night arrival! Peter assisted with luggage! Kitchen staff very friendly! Great breakfast! Lobby atmosphere very pleasant!
Review 52:There were no tea bags at all. There were maybe four different kids of coffee, but no kind of tea.
Review 53:The room was very nice for the price. The WiFi was great. The breakfast was very nice except for the one thing I'll whine about.
Review 54:Light on outside entry to hallway was not working, hotel sign was not lit when we arrived at 9 p.m.
Review 55:The hotel was clean and quiet, wifi was excellent, and the breakfast was very good.
Review 56:One night only.
Review 57:Convenient location, clean and quiet. Enough space for a family of 3. From hotel to Zion is only 45 miles trip and is close to Smith's grocery store in case you need fruits beverage and so on.
Review 58:The air conditioner and the lights did not work in our building because someone pulled the fire alarm in the afternoon so they moved us and gave us a credit. They were very nice.
Review 59:The AC was very loud and kept my wife up much of the night. People were smoking constantly right outside our room even though we had a non smoking room occasionally I thought we didn't.
Review 60:It was an alright place to get some rest. Nothing special
Review 61:Bed was made haphazardly and sheet was too short. Shower ran on holes in the shower head and ran hot and cold, had to keep adjusting the water. toilet had problems flushing. Lounge chair had stains and rug appeared dirty. Breakfast was the worst, one 2 slice toaster for all and bad options (instant oatmeal poured in water, not cooked, no healthy options. Women working in breakfast were not helpful and had a bad attitude. No pens to write with in the room.
Review 62:Front desk clerk Olivia Pedro was very apologetic and advised she would bring the problems with room 101 to the managements attention.
Review 63:breakfast eggs are gross, lobby is too humid, room fridge needed to be defrosted. Not the qualiity as when Holiday Inn owned this. Outdoor pools need more tables and chairs. Hot tub caused sickness to my son and his family and had to be drained and flushed.
Review 64:Good rate, pool table and table tennis still there, pool was clean.
Review 65:The chorine smell in the lobby areas...understandable due to the swimming pool being both indoors and out.
Review 66:Friendly staff, room was spacious to accommodate my family, great rate and amenities.
Review 67:Room 192 had something that sounded like a faucet drip about every 30 secs or so. However; neither the bathroom faucet and the shower were dripping. Maybe it was behind the wall??? Also, the shower spigots were connected backwards so hot was cold and cold was hot ... nearly scorched myself before I figured that out.
Review 68:The guy at the counter when I arrived in the evening was very nice. The older lady at the front desk when I checked out could have been just a little better.
Review 69:Needs some maintenance. In our initial room, the air conditioner didn't work. Our replacement room had some less significant maintenance issues, such as a faucet that leaked all over the counter when you run it on cold.
Review 70:Good selection of hot breakfast options Helpful staff Big indoor-outdoor pool
Review 71:No bad experiences at all. Nothing to complain about!
Review 72:This was the best place we stayed on our two week road trip. In fact, we even stayed an extra night. The room was great, the beds were fantastic, everyone was very nice and helpful, good breakfast and a $5 dinner - which was huge. I also had a chance to wash some clothes. An easy drive to Zion National Park. We almost stayed another night, but it was 112 degrees there, and we needed to keep moving to get to our destination. But we will certainly stay there again next year - and longer. Don't pass this one by!
Review 73:There were bugs (beetles) in the bathroom and saw them walking behind the food where the breakfast was. Beds were very uncomfortable and dipped in the middle.
Review 74:Things are quite old and not well maintained. Door knobs are about to break and broke in our room. Next indoor swimming pool room has no way to get fresh air.
Review 75:Staffs are kind and helpful.
Review 76:When we checked in the lady was in a hurry and didn't even tell us about the free WiFi or about when breakfast started and ended. When we got the the breakfast there was no food left. Wont stay here again.
Review 77:Bathroom had a rattle in the wall as the electrical wires are againstthe wall. Three lights out in the bathroom. Tile floors in the bathroomhave not been cleaned in some time (grout is filthy). Front desk clerkwas helpful when we arrived but when my daughter asked for a foam pillowhe was "put out" by the request and was very flustered when itbecame busy ( appeared to be the only staff member on duty). Ambreakfast was good but lights in the dining room were not on (savingmoney ???).
Review 78:While it was a great hotel, it looked like it had seen better days. Some things weren't working (phone) and other things in the lobby area were severely worn.
Review 79:Our family loved the comfy beds and the indoor/outdoor pool. It was also close to several attractions, and the freeway.
Review 80:Needs repair. The door was hard to open. The toilet tank was glued together. The WiFi was poor, we had to repeatedly sign on.
Review 81:Good location, helpful staff, and nice size rooms.
Review 82:Air conditioner had issues, moved to another room and it had cockroaches. Breakfast was sad; we had stayed here before and were disappointed with how rundown everything has become. Ratty furniture in reception area, just an air of uncaring. We probably won't stay here again.
Review 83:The staff were very polite and helpful. It has the potential to be a really wonderful place.
Review 84:we reserved a room that was to have the following, two queen beds, balcony, view of the pool. We got two full size beds, with queen headboards, no balcony and no view of the pool! Fan in bathroom did not work and my son found ants in our room! NOT sure if we would stay there again, did not get what we paid for!
Review 85:The mattress was really nice on the beds. the pool was pretty clean. staff friendly. Food was okay not A+ but was descent, no complaints.
Review 86:Bathroom smelled, pool had some bugs with no net available to clean it with, small pool towels
Review 87:Beds were comfortable, pool was nice, breakfast was adequate, plenty of tables for breakfast, late checkin/checkout was available, location is near freeway exit
Review 88:Door was very tight and was hard to open and close.
Review 89:Great value for the money, with spacious rooms and good access from a car. Large pool and spa with indoor and outdoor use.
Review 90:Rooms are not as nice, or what you expect from the main lobby. Broken appliances (phone, lamp) walls and bathroom in disrepair. Overall old neglected feel. Rooms not completely cleaned.
Review 91:Good prices. Convenient parking. Quiet.
Review 92:The cleanliness, shower was either hot or cold with no adjustment in between. Dorr was difficult to open. Furniture was dirty. Sheets and towels were shabby.
Review 93:The location only
Review 94:Room was not as clean as it should be -- some kind of sticky stuff in bathroom. Overworked staff was friendly but stretched thin. Breakfast was horrible.
Review 95:Price
Review 96:The air conditioning did not work the temperature stayed at 76 degrees all night the fan did not come on. There was also a electrical plug by the bed that also did not work and since I sleep with oxygen and a cpap machine it was necessary to unplug the clock
Review 97:That our room was close to the front door
Review 98:We didn't have a state room inside the main building and were on the first floor, so footsteps and voices were heard at night from people walking back and forth more than other hotels.
Review 99:Great breakfast with a decent room and a comfortable bed.
Review 100:Bathroom wasn't cleaned and the sink was clogged when we checked in.
Review 101:Convenient,air conditioner in the room was great! Room soap, shampoo & conditioner were good quality. Free breakfast was decent.
Review 102:Door to room would not open properly due to broken door handle. Only worked 30% of the time. Tried to explain this multiple times to attendant at front desk, but she kept insisting that it was a card or battery problem. Poor listening skills. Breakfast was inexcessable for first 2 hours due to tour buses. I can understand that they bring in a lot of money but the little guy needs to eat too. Pools were clean however there were dirty towels on 60% of the chairs and on the ground from previous swimmers who had left much earlier. No attempt was being made to keep area tidy and we had to do it ourselves.
Review 103:one of the staff was very helpful the first night. Pool and spa facilities were nice.
Review 104:This last time I stayed they charged me twice but we're very help full in getting my money back.
Review 105:I love this hotel. I stay here every time I travel.
Review 106:Pillows were huge and fluffy, but had no body...very stiff neck in the morning. No elevator!!??
Review 107:The indoor pool was nice and the breakfast was excellent with many choices.
Review 108:No complaints.
Review 109:We liked everything about this hotel. We loved the pool, the room and the breakfast in the morning. When we arrived the temperature was 97 degree's so the pool was very refreshing. There were some kids playing a little rough, but because the pool is separated we stayed on the side in doors for most of our pool time.
Review 110:Not the Hilton, but clean and comfortable. While not in the heart of St George, the staff happily shuttled us into town so we could have dinner at a restaurant, and then picked us up at the agreed time. Very helpful.
Review 111:When we first arrived into our room, the ac unit was off, and it was probably 90 degrees inside, and outside around 96 degrees. It was hot both nights that we stayed in room 246. Also, while we showered, the temperature of the water would be set at warm water but would change randomly every 30 seconds to freezing cold and than to extremely hot. We checked in a 3rd night, and room 133 was very spacious, but the toilet and bathtub room had a bad odor to it. It smelt like a wet towel or a musty smell.
Review 112:We liked that there was a large bathroom and Free wifi. The lobby was available to relax in. Also we took advantage of all the amenities which was a plus! The 3rd night we checked in a different room at 133, and the beds were extremely comfy.
Review 113:Everything is beige and hideous.
Review 114:The internet access was fast and always worked. Breakfast hours were long. Food was mediocre, but better than continental. Price was very fair.
Review 115:The main building was really nice, but when we checked in the gave away our king size bed room for a couple. They put on the second floor with no elevator, next to a staircase. All night we got to here thump, thump, thump, and more thumping from people dragging g their suitcases up and down the steps. Then we opened the refrigerator and found some moldy Klondike Bars.
Review 116:Location..
Review 117:We were suppose to have 2 queen size beds but they were only double size. The pool needed to be cleaned and it wasn't heated like the website said. It was to cold to swim which made the hot tub full of little kids. And the game area had no ping ping paddles and the pool table cue were missing as well.
Review 118:The shower looked brand new. Free wifi was great. The breakfast is always good.
Review 119:Nothing to really dislike, although if your room was within the main building (which ours wasn't), you may get a bit of noise from kids playing in the pool. Or, maybe not.
Review 120:Stayed at Lexington 3 times over 2 week period. It's not the Hilton, but it's clean and tidy. Twice shuttled us into heart of town for dinner out, and picked us up again at arranged time. Very generous swimming pool for those with kids. Friends had trouble with water flow in shower, which was promptly rectified. Staff friendly and accomodating.
Review 121:My wife and I loved the way the bathtub wall was glass and could be opened to still view TV from the tub. The massive tub was a plus too, we both fit! And the room smelled and dealt clean, bed was extremely comfortable, and there was plenty of room, more than we needed. When we woke up we went to check out the breakfast they offered. Having seen some terrible breakfast choices our expectations were low, but this place blew them out of the water! The waffles were awesome and I loved the sausage patties. My wife loved the orange juice and pancakes and eggs.
Review 122:Shower kept going from hot to cold, I have stayed here before without that happening, don't know if if was a problem of the whole hotel or just the room I was in.
Review 123:Room was comfortable, beds were one of the best I have been on. Older property but well kept.
Review 124:Hot water sometimes a little 'dodgey' when showering.
Review 125:Staff were very helpful. Hot spa was great following 8 days on horseback. Rooms were clean and neat.
Review 126:After running a half marathon I couldn't wait to get back and have breakfast. I was disappointed to find everything empty but toast. When St. george has big events like this I would expect breakfast to run a little longer so those that are out before the sun comes up, can enjoy some when they return.
Review 127:I had a nice working fridge so i was able to get all my shopping done without worrying about my food going bad.
Review 128:This hotel is dated a little run down and our room came with uninvited guest ANTS. I got bit on the calf while laying on the bed when we 1st arrived. I immediately went to the front desk and they recommend a different room, which I said OK to but after trying to unlock the new room with 3 different sets of room cards the door would not open. I had decided to asked for refund. This all took place in a hours time. I called the Marriott fair field while waiting at the from desk for 30 minutes to get a refund and after she had refunded my Booking and new that I was reserving a room at the Marriott, the front desk manager says well I could off you a suite if that would help to keep your business. All after she was listening to me use my CC to get a room some where else. Simply unless everything else is booked don't go especially if you are traveling with a family.
Review 129:I cannot say anything good about this Hotel.
Review 130:The shower would go from hot to cold every time we used it. The breakfast was exactly the same everyday, we were there for 7 days
Review 131:Large breakfast except was exactly the same evey single day
Review 132:The pool was out of pool towels. We had to use our own. The shower water kept going from hot to cold.
Review 133:Loved the room and the pool. The location is excellent and the price is right!
Review 134:An overwhelming smell of chlorine permeated the main building. The mattress and pillows were too firm for my liking and the pillows were somewhat lumpy. The bedding although clean, was worn and bunched up at night. The remote control on the TV did not work at first. When replaced with a new one, we were still very limited with it's use. When I asked for a room with a view, I was given a view over the conference rooms in the main building! Hardly what I had in mind for a view!
Review 135:The staff was very friendly and helpful. They were also very prompt on every request. The room was clean and spacious. The continental breakfast offered was very good.
Review 136:The air conditioning Didn't work well at all. The room itself was probably fantastic in 1994, but could use some updating now. Not unpleasant in the least, just dated.
Review 137:The lobby, pool, rec areas were all fantastic. If you have kids this place is awesome. The rooms are Pretty average.
Review 138:I wasn't a fan of the size of the bathroom. The shower was great but. The actual size of the bathroom was way small.
Review 139:Our stay was great. The pool area was fantastic bed was comfy..
