Reviews for Anaheim Maingate Inn
Review 1:It is run down! And people who stay there are "ghetto" I grew up in a rough neighborhood and it's exactly what it reminded me of. It seems management doesn't want to put the $ into keeping it up to date. To me that doesn't matter, but what the big negative is, is the people who stay there are up to no good Cholos for days!
Review 2:The walk to the Disney tram is less than 7 minutes.. It's a great walk... The maid was very nice.. I guess what I liked more is the location.. If you don't plan to stay in the hotel except to sleep it's fine! Plus, you can park there all day! Beats $18 a day at Disney
Review 3:The ac unit, phone & cable were unplugged upon arrival so it was a hassle just to get settled in. The plugs for tv & cable kept falling out of outlets. The continental breakfast is warm kool-aid coolers, sunny D(?) & store bought small muffins. The shuttle service they use was not available either.
Review 4:Fridge& microwave in room. Convenient location, walk to Disney parks. Uber ride about $20 to airport.
Review 5:I loved the location. It's right next to disneyland. You can take the service enterence. Everything else was scary. The room was unclean and mold in the bathroom. It looks like some homeless people live thier and the parking lot has some sketchy cars and spaces. The fire work show was beautiful from our room it masked the scary airconditioner as we looked out our window.
Review 6:the staff had attitude, the outside of the hotel was very unorganized and parking accessibility was terrible. The hallways to the hotel room had cigarettes on the floor and reeked of them, even though we requested a non smoking room. The hotel room had popcorn ceilings and it was set up in a really non convient way. The towels were so small, and the shower head was so short that it was hard for tall people to shower. I guess you get what you pay for.
Review 7:I liked that the hotel was right next to disney but it wasn't worth it
Review 8:Check-in took about 30 minutes, was assigned a room then had to move because of an error they made, room was clean but very shabby;.
Review 9:The location is ideal. A quick walk gets you to the Disney trams without having to drive and pay for parking.
Review 10:The rooms weren't clean Scarey stains that looked like body fluids on the curtians, dust build up, spiders, asked to change rooms and apprerntly there were no orher rooms avaliable
Review 11:It was a 5min walk to the tram
Review 12:If you are planning on walking to Disneyland be prepared to go up two flights of stairs. We were not aware of this and had a stroller so had to carry the stroller up the flight of stairs and down on the way back. The elevator on the other side was always full by the time it got to us so had to use the escalator with the stroller which you aren't supposed to do. You also had to get on a Disneyland tram from there, which we were also not aware of. I was trying to avoid the trams and truly find a place you could just walk to. This place doesn't meet that requirement, even though it advertises it is a five minute walk. It is a five minute walk to the trams going up stairs.
Review 13:This place is a dump and in desperate need of a makeover drug deals going on right outside our window homeless and other people just hanging around outside all night parking was horrible
Review 14:Location
Review 15:The 2morning there hotel management knocked before 8:00 to move my car what be his personal parking (handicapped parking) and shortly after housekeeper come to see if I needed service all the while my do not disturb being displayed and that only the Beginning,
Review 16:The walk to Disneyland park incredibly close walk
Review 17:The room was filthy. Our clean feet turned black walking barefoot or with socks on carpet. There was lipstick graffiti on mirror and gunk on bathroom floor. Odd access to Disney park via employee parking lot, up, though, then down parking garage to access tram..Malfunctioning HVAC unit, flimsy electrical outlet without plate cover...Will gladly pay double to have accommodations that are sanitary and include amenities
Review 18:Low price
Review 19:Room was gross. Popcorn ceiling, door had been broken down at eye level (cracked), floor made feet black, sink dirty, one super thin blanket & sheet type bedspread. Had to get another blanket, froze first night. Paying for ice...
Review 20:Staff was great!! Walking distance to Disney trams. Next door, room looked great. Allowed us to park extra car for one night. Would stay in any updated room (only) again.
Review 21:You get what you pay for, it's near Disneyland, but the rooms are dirty the walls are disgusting and the beds are not comfortable woke up with the worse back pain ever will not go there again! when I booked the room online pictures of room where nice very deceiving. Stayed 1/9/16
Review 22:close to Disneyland
Review 23:Ive stayed in this hotel two times. Both times the rooms I stayed in need renovations. Not that the place is in really bad conditions but renovations are needed for an overall better feel.
Review 24:I requested a bottom floor as I recently had foot surgery. They said they didn't have a room available. They didn't seem to care. I had a terrible time climbing three stories of steep stairs with a boot..no elevator!
Review 25:The location was excellent! The room was clean and the bed was comfortable!
Review 26:Everything. The room was dirty. There was mold on the ceiling above the shower. The towels were stiff and dirty. The heater/Ac is had buttons busted on it. "Breakfast" wasn't served until 11am. There was a cockroach in our room.
Review 27:It was close to Disneyland
Review 28:The room was filthy. Very old. No upkeep. Holes in wall that were poorly patched. Visible filth on walls. Broken outlets. Cheap, old, frayed towels.
Review 29:Free parking. Easy access to Disneyland. A good place just to sleep and take a QUICK shower. Price fit the accommodations. If you pay more than $60 a night you will be sorry.
Review 30:BreakfasT is not worth it.
Review 31:Location, is grate, very close. Walk to parking lot and take Disney transportation. If You have a wheelchair You have to take another route. No access throw parking lot for wheelchairs or motorized vehicle. You can hear disney fireworkes at 9:30 pm fRom hotel room.
Review 32:The room we were in didn't look or feel clean; it needs renovation, but with that being said . . .
Review 33:I liked that the staff was very friendly and helpful, that it took only a seven minute medium-paced walk to the Disneyland tram from the hotel and that the hotel didn't charge a fee to park my car there. Although the sheets and towels had stains and some of the towels were old and rough, they felt clean and fresh. The complimentary breakfast selection was fine; I'm not a breakfast person anyway. We didn't spend much time at the hotel and didn't spend much money for the room, so the value was great and was what I expected.
Review 34:The room was very old and rundown, which made it feel unclean (even though it wasn't). It was very noisy, lots of yelling , banging at 2am, sawing at 11pm. The breakfast was terrible - coffee (no milk)and a muffin in the lobby, which is the size of a bathroom, so you couldn't sit and eat.
Review 35:The location was awesome - a 5min walk from the Disney tram.
Review 36:We asked for the tub to be fixed, The staff was nice but the tub was never fixed.
Review 37:Great for going to Disney Land. The walk closer then most of the parking for Disney Land. People were nice.
Review 38:Shabbier than the pictures, but very clean and the staff was very helpful.
Review 39:the location, steps away from the back gate of Disneyland. The staff was great.
Review 40:THE ROOM WAS DIRTY, CARPET WAS FILTHY, MADE SOCKS DIRTY, THE ROOM NEEDS A FRESH COAT OF PAINT, THE OUTLETS DONT WORK
Review 41:THE LOCATION WAS EXCELLENT - YOU WALK THROUGH THE EMPLOYEE PARKING LOT AND CATCH THE TRAM TO DISNEY
Review 42:As an Disneyland Passholder I have frequently stayed at many hotelsaround the area. I am not very picky when it comes to the room, becausewhen you're at Disneyland you're really hardly ever in the room. But this room was the worst one I have ever seen. It was so dirty andjust overal disgusting. Don't believe the pictures posted online, your room will not look like that. I didn't even feel clean juststanding in the room. There was a used bar of soap stuck on the wall, the floors were dirty, stains on the bed, the walls had black smudgesall over them, our bathroom door looked like an old janitors closet andit didn't even close. I was actually embarrassed when I checked inand the party I was with looked around like they couldn't believethis is where we were staying. I took pictures of all the disgustingunclean things in the room and showed the front desk. He did not offerto make anything right, just asked if I would text him the pictures. Donot stay here!!!
Review 43:This hotel is located right next to the Mickey and Friends parkingstructure. That was the only good thing about this hotel, it was soclose to the tram.
Review 44:Wish the parking lot was a little bigger.
Review 45:It was your typical plain hotel room. It was clean, had microwave and fridge. The best part was how close the walk to the tram for Disneyland was. The parking at the hotel was free and it was a 5 min walk to the disney trams that ran the whole time disney was open so you had no time crunch! Overall if you don't care for fancy this is your hotel. We got our room super cheap at Christmas time so I have no complaints.
Review 46:It was dirty. I did not expect perfect conditions but the bathroom had mold all on the grout if the shower, mirror wasn't even wiped from prior guests and the floor was filthy. Took an hour round trip to get to and from Disneyland. It's honestly about a 10 walk to tram, then you wait for tram, hopefully you get on the first one when you get there. And the tram drops you off by downtown Disney. I suggest if you need jackets to rent a locker to put them in because it will take you a good hour to leave park and get back. So take everything you want with you unless you don't mind the hour jaunt. Also if you get a room on the end, there is heavy traffic I cannot remember if the road was 4 lanes or 6 but the traffic is pretty noisey. Bathroom door did not close.
Review 47:The bathroom shower area is in need of a remodel. Many motels are now doing the continental breakfast. Yours could be a little nicer.
Review 48:friendly staff. location, free parking don't change that. Rooms and beds are comfortable.
Review 49:My sheets were changed in my room and replaced with damp sheets. I was not provided with an adequate sized towel - I'm sure they were all hand-towels and stained. I was freezing because the blankets were too thin. No hair-dryer.
Review 50:It was really close to Disneyland parking tram and made getting there simple and straight-forward.
Review 51:The room smells to mold, the carpet feels dirty, the blankets were too thin for the season and I traveled with a small kid who has to use its own blanket... In general, very poor maintenance.
Review 52:Location to the theme parks
Review 53:There is really nothing to like about this hotel other than its location and price. If you choose this hotel bring your own towels. The ones we have are old and hard, looks like they've never been replaced since they opened.
Review 54:Location, its proximity to Disneyland.
Review 55:My room was on the 3rd floor with no elevator. It felt like I was in an attic-- it was a separate part of the hotel. It was a little eerie. It was very cold outside and there was no heat in the bathroom. We couldn't even shower because the bathroom was so cold. The little window heater does not heat the bathroom. The TV had too many Spanish speaking channels and a handful of the channels had no sound. This room was NOT worth $99 a night.
Review 56:It is very close to Disneyland.
Review 57:The "breakfast " was very weak. Online it said includes breakfast and there were only muffins and juice and coffee. There's nothing extra special about the hotel necessarily, but the kind staff and closeness to Disneyland all for the price you pay, well worth staying
Review 58:The facility was so close to Disneyland. We walked with our 4 yr old and our 2 yr old. The staff was very kind.
Review 59:Our room smelled like smoke, our tv didn't work, the room was half done as in gaps in doorways and walls. All in all not a good room at all.
Review 60:It was close and convenient to our location.
Review 61:For one there was not enough parking stalls. Two the walls were stained, the doors and the toilet seats were chipped and worn down. The beds arenot queen size they were full or twin beds. None of the outlets workedor hold like a curling iron or straightener it kept falling. The volumeof the tv did not work at all Oh they only serve muffins, coffee, andorange juice as a breakfast. But since we spent 8am to 12:30pm atdisneyland I guess it was okay. It is a 15-20 minute walk fromDisneyland
Review 62:There was not much to like about this hotel
Review 63:The inside of room was just ok, the refrigerator was terribly dirty on the outside and the walls were dirty in bathroom!
Review 64:The staff were upfront and friendly, short walking distance to the Disneyland park.
Review 65:Our toliet got plugged up and when I pressed a wrong button on the TV remote and we couldn't get the TV stations back on. I was surprised that when we went to the office at 7:45 am it was not opened with a sign "Closed from 11 pm to 7 am".
Review 66:The desk staff was helpful. Great walking location to the Disney tram.
Review 67:The carpets need to cleaned in the worst way. We had to use slippers due to the dirty carpet
Review 68:The location and proximity to Disneyland was excellent. Walking into the park saved us from driving, parking and fees and gas.
Review 69:My room key keep having problem, there was people hanging out late along the stair ways, other people keep knocking at the person who reside next to the laundry room. The parking was bad
Review 70:Location was perfect.
Review 71:The place needed a lot of upgrades but for the price I really couldn't complain
Review 72:Location was great for Disneyland and staff were all friendly and accommodating
Review 73:The front desk calling my room at 2 am and finding out it was an accident. Not having a blow dryer or coffee in our room either was a bummer, and the breakfast was just being brought out right when we left at 7:30.
Review 74:Location and price
Review 75:Although I don't really blame the motel because it was unseasonably cold when I was there, the bed blanket was a little light. If you get cold easily, then be sure to ask for an extra blanket.
Review 76:The location is ideal for Disneyland, and the staff was very friendly. As far as little motels go, this one is fine and good for the price.
Review 77:Their auto-phone was awful 'cause it repeatedly dropped our callswhile we were trying to get directions from the owner. The owning familylives on premises & a couple of doors down from the room we got.Much of the room needed replacement tile, faucet needed work, it was beat-up overall & the police knocked at our door to check out a fightingdisturbance. Husband was asleep & I almost was at the 9 P.m noise.(Noisy all 5 of our days) muffins, coffee & juice don't make"breakfast"
Review 78:We liked the maid, Heidi.
Review 79:The experience itself was great, but there are some cosmetic issues that I would like to see addressed, however, even if nothing is changed, I would definitely stay here again.
Review 80:The close walking distance to Disneyland is amazing!
Review 81:Felt extremely unsafe, room was dusty, old, had holes in walls andfloors, water stains on ceiling, the tv volume didn't work, lightsflickered, towels and sheets were dirty. Not worth the savings at all, will dish out the extra $100-200 next time for a better hotel
Review 82:Very short and easy walk to the trams for Disneyland
Review 83:Lower floor room was noisy, parking didn't seem organized, often could not park near room, although was on ground level. Beds were a bit hard for my taste.
Review 84:location, location, location.. walking distance to trams. Rooms were older but clean. good TV, plenty of space. Wi-fi worked very well.
Review 85:It was outdated, but that's okay! It had everything we needed.
Review 86:You can't beat the location if you're headed to Disneyland. Literally steps to the tram. The staff were excellent. You always saw somebody cleaning or around if you needed something. There are also camera's in the parking lot for security. Best value for the price! I will be back. They also gave me my room key and let me leave the rental car before check-in because I arrived early so I went to Disneyland and was all set to go when I got back.
Review 87:The sink had a drip of water when fully on. The shower was dirty. The room had things from a previous family. The desk clerk had no idea what to tell me about getting to the Avengers Half Marathon. The cold breakfast was a joke. The bed had coils going through it.
Review 88:I liked nothing.
Review 89:Water pressure was a bit iffy, parking was a bit hard to get.
Review 90:Close to disneyland, breakfast, free parking, consistent wifi, great hosts, clean, cheappppp!
Review 91:The room was absolutely disgusting. Hair and boogers stuck to the walls in the bathroom. Carpet and furniture stained. Room service restocked our towels with dirty towels and never changed the sheets. Staff was extremely rude and not welcoming. Many people hanging out in parking lot who were not guests at the hotel. This place is not safe or sanitary by any means.
Review 92:Location was great, a quick walk to the Disneyland trams. This is the only good thing about this place.
Review 93:Everything was unacceptable. Dirty sheets, dirty old room, stinky soap, gross tub, the breakfast (if you call what they offer a breakfast) was nasty, I think it may have been sunny d or some kind of orange concoction and stale muffins, not to mention what they served as coffee. Really mad I booked this place. If I could have found another place I would've left.
Review 94:Distance to Disneyland
Review 95:THIS HOTEL HAS BED BUGS!!! My daughter was illergic and swelled up. I had to call the hotel manager, "Don"' to request a full refund (I doubt that was his real name...he told me he was the acting manager because the real manager was out of town taking care of his sick mother in San Diego for the weekend, so, Don, just wanted to take my name and number and make me wait until Monday to get the whole issued resloved!!) Don did finally go to the room and verified that they did, infact, have BED BUGS and assured me that they would throw away the mattress and box springs. I asked what he was going to do with the other mattress and box springs that was in the same room. Also asked what he was going to do to prevent this from happening to another family...he talked right over the top of me and wouldnt answer my questions...just kept assuring me that my refund was being processed. Also, the 1st night we got there we could smell people smoking weed outside right by the office. The 2nd night, the police and an ambulance showed up at 2:30 am!! WORST hotel experience EVER!! Would not suggest this hotel to ANYONE!!
Review 96:It is a no frills hotel, and there isn't enough plugs that work for charging electronics
Review 97:Location is very close to Disneyland trams. Check in was easy and pleasant. Perfect for someone like me who basically needed a place to sleep after long days in Disneyland
Review 98:If you're not able to walk they don't have a shuttle. It's run down . The parking is absolutely horrible. I won't be staying there again.
Review 99:Close to Disneyland, that's about all I can say.
Review 100:One of our pillow cases had stains on it, there was no hdmi cable for the tv and there was no alarm clock.
Review 101:It is 5 minutes walking distance to Disneyland. There are restaurants within 5 minutes of driving distance.
Review 102:Close to the tram at Disneyland. The staff is friendly and helpful. The fireworks can be seen from the hotel. Just know the fireworks are loud and close. Not a good place for someone with ptsd
Review 103:Barely any coffee, you have to pay for the ice machine, the coffee maker is nowhere near an outlet so you have to move it near the sink or where you would plug in a blow dryer... we were close to the end of row and the last room had a lot of "visitors." Hate to imply that either the guest had escorts visiting or the guest is a long time resident who has frequent visitors. We didn't have issues with parking but we made sure we got there early enough and it was always packed.
Review 104:It was definitely walking distance to Disneyland. Wicked close and easy. Went there for the Avengers' Half Marathon Weekend and it was a breeze. Check in and out was simple.
Review 105:Extremely poor parking situation. Situated right under the Disneyland fireworks, so the shockingly loud sound was like being in battle. The TV screen was fried and had no volume control, so the kids got to watch a yellow and pink screen with closed captioning only. The A/C unit looked like it would be dangerous and disgusting to use. Luckily it wasn't needed. Will never stay here again.
Review 106:Easy to book. Easy to get to the Disneyland Parks.
Review 107:Everything was old. The outside of the refrigerator was nasty. The wallpaper was falling off. The carpet stained and lifting. The furniture was very old. The exterior was very dirty, the outside garbage can was very dirty.
Review 108:Very close to parking lot (shuttle).
Review 109:Room needed to be updated. Beds were okay but pillows were terrible. Shower left a lot to be desired appeared to be old and dirty. Parking was very limited.
Review 110:Location is excellent. About a five minute walk to the Disneyland Trams.
Review 111:Electric outlets were not working too loose couldn't charge my phone there was bugs in the bathroom towels were dirty
Review 112:Excellent location close to Disneyland
Review 113:I really didn't mind. But, it could use some cosmetics, inside the room. My wife: no blow dryer
Review 114:I slept comfortable. It's right next to Disneyland Resort. Five minute walk to the Disney tram and never used my car for two days.
Review 115:I had called the hotel early to make sure we could park and check in. They said we would check in given a room key, but not be able to actually go into the room. That was fine with me. I had requested a bottom level room and I was given room 225, I asked if there was a bottom floor, given 106. We got back from Disney at 11PM very tired and there was a sign on the door saying clean the room which I thought was weird, but put the key in and it didn't work. I went back to the office and the girl was looking and looking and going back and forth to the manager in another room to find out what was wrong. Finally he came out and when he changed our room number he didn't put it in the computer and she checked someone else into our room. Then they told me we could only have it for 1 night--I said give our original room to them and let me stay in 107 which was what happened. I talked to Bobbie the next day very sorry for the mix up and he said he had to talk to the manager for an adjustment and credit to my card. He would send me an email. That was Sunday, today is Wednesday and I have not heard from him. Do I contact u or do I have to go through the hotel. Please advise. Thank u Carolyn
Review 116:Room was clean
Review 117:Horrible unsanitary rooms, had no up keep and no way of reaching front desk. We left early in the morning and as we went outside, it was dark and they had no lights on so we almost fell down the stairs and the office closes all night so no emergency contacts available. Awful hotel and sad stay.
Review 118:Only location
Review 119:Everything was pretty good !
Review 120:This year was my first time going to Disneyland and I'm now 22 (I know) but any way the Anaheim Maingate Inn has made my 3 trips to Disneyland (I go like every 2 months now with the love of my life) this year very enjoyable and very close to Disney what's not to love
Review 121:The flith, the rude man who owns the place, the blood drops on the stairs, the reek of old, stale smoke, the constant noise from being located on a freeway, the stains on the walls, carpets, and doors, the sandpaper grade towels, did I mention the flith? Do yourself a favor, go anywhere else - you may pay a little more, but in the end....totAlly worth it.
Review 122:Nothing- this place was horrible!!!
Review 123:At 6:58 am the lobby door was still locked...but, I could see Asiangentleman setting up breakfast bar. At 7am he unlocked the door, wentbehind hotel counter and disappeared! I waited, said "hello"several times, whistled a few times over a 20 minute period. Wanted toask questions and check out. He was thete... I could hear him! He couldhear me! Luckily when we checked in the night before there was a reallynice wonan that used to work at Roadway Inn...so, there are nice peoplehere!! Otherwise all good!
Review 124:Walking distance to Disneyland
Review 125:Room was in need of refurbishing ( I think they were in the process ) . Parking was a bit tight for larger vehicles .
Review 126:Friendly and helpful staff. Great accessibility to Disneyland Park. Best price on room in area around the Park.
Review 127:Building is old, rooms seem dirty and all furniture, toilet, and bathtub are falling apart.
Review 128:The location was great, right next to the parking structure and trams to Disneyland. They also called me when I left a bag there.
Review 129:Room was very outdated and needs attention. It was relatively clean, but it does not look well-maintained, overall.
Review 130:Loved the proximity to Disneyland - makes things so easy! Also, the price was right.
Review 131:The Hotel had a leaking toilet, broken bathroom fan, dirty bathroom floor, and mold on the ceiling. The beds were old and uncomfortable. We could easily hear the other hotel guests. We will NOT stay at this hotel again, and was not worth the money we paid. K.D
Review 132:Found a pair of false eyelashes on my coffee tray so made me disgusted that my room wasn't cleaned properly or at all and also found a broken nail on the floor in the restroom made me fill my room was cleaner or santized carpet in room is dirty looks black my daughter had white socks on and they were black from walking on it so make sure u bring slippers my sister got a room from them and her room had wood floors I like that looked more cleaner but her microwave didn't work.. And also my room smelled like citrate smoke when I got a non smoking room ...call the front desk and all they said is I will talk to the manager and never got back to us ..location is good for Disneyland is about 5 minute walk to the tram to take u to Disneyland..so it's says 5 minute walk to Disneyland but it's a 5 minute walk to the tram to take u Disneyland ...
Review 133:The room was dirty, there was cigarettes and a lighter in the nightstand in a non smoking room. Some lights in bathroom did not work and tub had cigarette burns.
Review 134:There were a couple spots that could use updates in the bathroom, maybe some water damage? But nothing terrible.
Review 135:The staff here was very friendly. 5 minute walk to the parks, right through the parking structure. Room was ready upon arrival. Flooring and bedding looked newer.
Review 136:The hotel room was disgusting! There was something dried on the toilet paper. We had to use the clean roll that had already been used on the back of the toilet. There were bugs in the bathroom, the room smelled musty, the lights by the bed were held up with scotch tape. Says there's a Continental breakfast, there's only old mini muffins and Tampico.
Review 137:The breakfast could have been switched up each day.
Review 138:It was walking distance from Disney Parks and we had a wonderful view of the fireworks from our window.
Review 139:Parking was limited and it was a challenge to get out. When I checked out staff was not engaging. Barely said hello and didn't say goodbye when we left.
Review 140:Value. Good price for location.
