Reviews for Casa Victoria Orchid

Review 1:We decided to book this hotel because of it's overall review score close to 9. Well, we where quite disappointed… The location is great and the room was big but that was all. When we checked in the receptionist was not very friendly and looked quite annoyed because we interrupted her during at private phone conversation. When you are in your room you are sharing every single noise with your neighbors as there is no isolation and the A/C is very loud. The breakfast is a joke, plastic dishes?!?! Considering the price of USD 300 they can certainly do better!

Review 2:the location is definitely a big plus. The room was big and clean.

Review 3:I could hear the people in the room above us walking and talking. I went up and made them aware that we could hear them clearly, and they were very nice about it. Breakfast was less appealing even than most places that list "breakfast is included."

Review 4:The location is great - just off the main restaurant square, so lots of fun 20 ft away. But far enough away that the night noise is not bothersome. 10 minute walk to the beach too! The people at the desk were very nice. The colors throughout are lovely. The bed was firm and very comfortable. Bathroom well-equipped. Free wifi in the rooms.

Review 5:I think it is possible to clean the room better in details.

Review 6:Perfect location, even close to busy street very quiet. Rent a bike for free. Hotel was clean. Very friendly and helpful staff. Coffee or tea for free at lobby.

Review 7:breakfast is quite simple (but was a nice surprise that it is included in price, we have not expected it)

Review 8:spacious room, central location but quiet, kind staff, complimentary beach towels and sunbrella, bicycle

Review 9:The only negative would be the breakfast, there was no cooked breakfast option.

Review 10:I enjoyed everything about my stay. The bed was super comfy and was facing away from Espanola way but perfect location if you want to be amongst the hustle and bustle. I also enjoyed lying at the pool at hotel Vincent, a few blocks down on ocean drive.

Review 11:THE breakfast. But. It's was ok

Review 12:I love the staff. He was so nice. I forgot his name but if he read this is Tammy from atLanta. You made my trip wonderful:).

Review 13:There was not parking in this hotel and the parking garage, near this hotel, was very expensive. In that night there was very noicy from hallway and the room above us.

Review 14:Staff was friendly. Location was good, it's about 1 mile from Miami beach.

Review 15:Very poor sound proofing, we had to move to top floor corner room, otherwise it was very noisy from people on top and to the side.

Review 16:Location, friendly staff

Review 17:When we checked out, we asked the desk clerk to call a taxi and an unmarked car without meter or posted fare came for us. The driver's English was not great and it took a bit of back and forth attempts at conversation to figure out that this was the taxi, he was the driver and he understood where we wanted to go. We were hesitant, but went along with it and got to our destination successfully. But, I would have preferred a conventional taxi and driver.

Review 18:Returning to our room at 5:30 one afternoon, the room had not been made-up. When we reported it to the desk clerk, it was taken care of immediately. We have stayed at this hotel in the past and this has never happened before. When we saw the maid the following day, she apologized to us. The situation was handled really well. We do like this hotel very much and will definitely stay there again.

Review 19:We chose this on the basis of the location and we weren't disappointed. In fact we were very impressed. Espanola Way is a magical little cove in South Beach. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We also like the ability to use facilities like the pool and fitness centre at the sister hotels on Ocean Drive.

Review 20:A little bit expensive but maybe the location is worth paying. Some noise from the corridor at nighttime

Review 21:Great location, staff extremely friendly. Room very spacious and clean.

Review 22:it's no big deal, but there were too many small (tiny) ants in the room and you could hear too much noise from the hallway. (other guests talking loud, room service also

Review 23:Location, room view, possibility of going to a pool at Victor hotel which is located on Ocean Drive, breakfast, free towels and bikes.

Review 24:Art work in halls was not to my taste, but then you are in South Beach. A lounge bar would be great

Review 25:The location is great to most amenities in South Beach..

Review 26:We coukd hear too much noise from the corridor. Door not insulated enough. No noise from street but too much echo inside. Its like people were in our room

Review 27:Nice room big and clean

Review 28:They were AMAZING. Give free beach towels for day use even on the day you check out (or in our case, a few days later as well). They held on to our bags for a day after we got back from a cruise even though we'd been checked out for days. The best service I have had in a hotel in years. Not to mention the ideal location, spacious rooms.

Review 29:The reception area is located in an open corridor at the hotel entrance, which looks a bit strange, and has the feeling of an old fashioned public administration office or police station. This could be upgraded a bit. The breakfast room is very stark, no atmosphere. The single waste basket in the room - located in the bathroom - did not contain a plastic bag, which is unhygienic.

Review 30:Great hotel: beautiful building from the outside in great location on Española way, next to many nice restaurants for lunch or dinner, and bars. Restaurants close around 01h00 and room was sound proof, so noise from the street did not bother us. Beautiful modern design furniture in the room and original art photographs. Room spacious and very comfortable.

Review 31:Breakfast is sweet stuff only (muffins, joghurt, fruit, waffels, croissants). On Day 3, I could really really really eat something different than those.

Review 32:The place is quite close to South Beach (walking distance), in the busy street of Espanola Way, full of restaurants - yet the room is still quiet. They provide free beach towel, bike usage, but what's the most important: I have never met as friendly, amazing, kind, pro-active employees, who are always willing to help (even without being asked!!!). Super-good experience!

Review 33:1. Windows are very hard to open. One window has completely broken handles, so you can open it, but unable to close. 2. Wi-Fi was very slow.

Review 34:Great location, free bikes, friendly staff, spacious room. Good atmosphere. Definitely would come again!

Review 35:The rooms are very nice inside..I loved the shades on the windows and the bathroom was really nice..the bed very comfortable would definitely stay there again and recommended to everyone...Breakfast was also included

Review 36:The central Airco switches on and off all night. Waking up several times at night hot and sweaty. Continuous airco flow or a fan will do the trick

Review 37:Nice central location of hotel, all you need at walking distance. Nice clean rooms.

Review 38:The breakfast choices weren't great, but we knew it was continental so we expected it. Definitely wouldn't hinder our decision to stay again though.

Review 39:I loved the location, the staff and we were upgraded to a suite! It was extremely nice, it could actually serve as living quarters. We would definitely stay again.

Review 40:Cockroach in the room without available big spray. However they did offer to change rooms for us even though it was 3am

Review 41:Location, friendliness and value

Review 42:There was no hot water in the shower. There were lots of mosquitos entering through the open entrance. The breakfast was way below standards.

Review 43:I liked location & the friendly staff

Review 44:The hotel is,great location and far enough from all the partying going on all night .walking distance to the beach and great Cuban food around the corner.

Review 45:the hotel is clean, comfortable and right in the middle of all thats going on, with bars and restaurants all around offering a wealth of variety. only a short walk from the beach and the Vic offers free beach towels and chairs to its guests.

Review 46:wifi didnt work very good

Review 47:staff was very friendly and helpfull! breakfast was included and was quit nice the room was big and the bed was also very bid and compftrable! very close to lincon road

Review 48:As the hotel had no kitchen breakfast was the minimum with disposable plates, cutlery etc. no fruit available on one day.

Review 49:The spacious clean rooms, and friendly help from the front desk.

Review 50:Didn't love break fast or the $30 charge for beach towels and bikes i didn't use. Maybe could have opted out but didn't want to make a fuss.

Review 51:Amazing location . Great rooms. Helpful team. Would def stay again.

Review 52:Not so much a bad experience as a query - an adequate breakfast was included but all the plates and cutlery were plastic and everything was put in the bin afterwards - what happened to Reduce, Recycle, Re-use? If there is an elf out the back sorting and recycling then it would be good to have a notice above the bin to let people know. The breakfast attendant who was just standing around for most of the time could wash the dishes. Because all the surfaces were tiled some sound carried from the floor above - especially shifting furniture. This could be easily remedied by two things - putting more than one chair in the room, and putting rubber/plastic/felt buffers on the bottom of the chair legs. We were initially somewhat disconcerted to hear some plumbing noise (dispersal only, not performance!) but it was not a problem during the night. If you think it could be a problem just book a room on the top floor, don't let it stop you from staying at this great spot.

Review 53:We had just come off a cruise so the spacious rooms were really appreciated. We knew nothing about the area when we booked so were delighted to see that we had ended up only two mins from Washington Avenue, but in a no-exit street at the end of the pedestrianized Espanola Way with all its great eateries. The hotel is not Art Deco but a converted Spanish village apartment block at the edge of the residential area. The young staff were all pleasant and helpful.

Review 54:The fan of the air conditioner is very loud and there is no way to turn it off (I checked with reception) so sleep was intermittent!! The kitchen had nothing in it just 2 glasses! No cutlery, plates, etc.

Review 55:The hotel was close to everything we wanted, restaurants, bars, the beach, shops, Art Deco district. The hotel has 2 sister hotels at which we could use the pools which is great as hardly anyone seems to swim in the sea!!

Review 56:The breakfast is fairly weak. Basically boiled eggs, fruit, cereal, and muffins. This was definitely not what anyone would consider as a hot breakfast buffet that was advertised to us.

Review 57:Nice shower and bed with a great location conveniently located only a few blocks from the beach.

Review 58:On the last night we had a bit of a noisy nieghbour although the hotel dealt with it well.

Review 59:The location was central & not too noisy, the facilities given by the hotel were great, free bikes, chairs, towels for the beach.

Review 60:I cant fault it, we were very Happy here, but may be, have some cutlery, plates and glasses in the kitchenet.

Review 61:We like everything! The staff were super friendly and knowledgible. We were surprise to learn that you can borrow bikes and beach towels at not free cost and you can also use swimming pools and facilities of other Hotels nearer the beach, this made it even more exciting! And easier, it may had been slightly noisy but hey! You are in a central location, and in a holiday place.. So impossible not to hear, just join the Fun!!! We had a Brilliant Time! Staff were very helpful and efficient! Thanks Everyone!! The 3 Amigas, from Spain and England.

Review 62:big room, but badly planned with a very little shower/bathroom. Really cold in the room, and window in the bathroom did not closed properly. No trashcan. No breakfast available

Review 63:location, size of room. Good bed. Good wifi.

Review 64:The hotel was at the end of a quaint street with lots of restaurant. A great true french bistros was just across the street. We could walk left and get to the beach and all the tourist life of Miami Beach, or we could turn right and walk through a great city park and get to Whole Foods and restaurants that were not so expensive. The hotel gave us beach chairs and towels and it was possible to rent bikes. What we really liked was that it was a reasonable price (it's still very expensive..it's Miami Beach) without feeling we reached too low in the hotel category.

Review 65:No kitchen equipment, very thin walls noise was a problem at times.

Review 66:In the heart of South beach, the bikes, towels, beach chairs, reception coffee station, with great front of house people

Review 67:Liked everything.

Review 68:Terrific location on, arguably, the best two-block street in South Beach -- Espanola Way -- restaurants, shops, 2 blocks to the beach and great people watching. Warm hospitality. A very entertaining and comfortable location.

Review 69:It's a kitchenette in the room but there isn't even a spoon or a small plate with it. If there would have been at least some simple kitchen supply we could have had a light breakfast at our room but the way it was now I don't even know what the kitchenette is there for. We could use the fridge to keep water cold, that's it.

Review 70:The location was excellent, so was the bed and the standard of the room. Our room was quiet and we didn't get disturbed from any noise. We loved that we could use bikes for a couple of hours. This was free and we did it twice.

Review 71:walls are very thin, heard every word spoken in the next room. Unlucky for us the guys next door were not only very drunk and talkative but also liked listening to music. Not a good night.

Review 72:location is excellent, staff very friendly and helpful, room was very clean.

Review 73:no longer served breakfast as indicated when I booked the room.

Review 74:Casa Victoria Orchid is well situated in Miami Beach to the beach, restaurants and shopping.

Review 75:No amenities, no breakfast, no beach umbrellas, a little overpriced.

Review 76:Staff was great, place was really clean and bed was very comfortable (except for the pillows, that were terrible)!

Review 77:It was very expensive and we were hit with"fees" that were not part of the reservation.i would have given this a higher mark had we not been forced to pay fees on top of the $250 hotel room bill. We were there less then 24 hours.

Review 78:We got a better a better location across rom our event at Winterfest

Review 79:The kitchenette was great but did not have utensils or plates. So we bought a box of utensils and small paper plates which is fine but kind of wasteful. If I had known I would have packed a couple of spoons and a couple of plastic bowls I own.

Review 80:We loved the large size of our room. We faced Espanola way and had a balcony which was a perfect spot to have a morning tea. The location was perfect. The street was partly closed for pedestrians only so it was very peaceful.

Review 81:expansive, a bit noisy for a family: music in the night from restaurants and washing street machines in the early morning

Review 82:position, cleanness, friendly staff

Review 83:The staff didn't know where anything was. When I asked if there was a Starbucks nearby, the staff member sent me to the wrong address Ditto for my search for a place to buy a bottle of wine. When we checked out, we had to wait a half hour for our car. Overall, wouldn't stay there again.

Review 84:The Location. It it located in a nice neighborhood with restaurants nearby. Nonetheless, it was quiet.

Review 85:There is absolutely nothing to write here.

Review 86:Beautiful rooms. Excellent location for walking anywhere in south beach. Great restaurant choices within a 5-10 minute walk...several within a one minute walk. Stone floors, excellent beds and linnens, beautiful bathrooms. You can't go wrong. ,

Review 87:Hefty rate. (new year's...). No F&B in the hotel itself. But there is plenty to get outside the hotel's doorstep.

Review 88:Location: proximity to beach, restaurants, Lincoln road. Size of the room, facilities. Fresh and clean.

Review 89:Communication with staff reservations email was slow. Española Way is quite close to a slummy redlight district. Be wary at night at intersection and street 2 blocks north of hotel.

Review 90:On legendary española way. Advise staying near there for food and drinks! Modern rooms and facilities. Large and comfy bed Lovely and large bathroom with granite shower Staff was extremely helpful and polite Balcony in our room

Review 91:Nothing really about the hotel. Parking is a little tricky but it's like this anywhere in Miami.

Review 92:The location is awesome. Room is clean and spacious.

Review 93:- My neighbor's room was heard through walls. - Some paints in corridors aren't preferable for kids.

Review 94:- Located on Espanola Way where you can find a lot of restaurants and cafes and 10 minutes walk to the beach. - Very friendly and helpful staff. - Big rooms. - Nice view from the room.

Review 95:There was nothing in the kitchen except for a coffee maker without coffee, mugs, or even a spoon. That's about the same as a bedroom without pillows and sheets!

Review 96:Spacious room with an excellent location.

Review 97:1/ Walls were paper thin so we could hear the couple next door talking

Review 98:1/ Fabulous location in Espanola way. Close to restaurants and the beach 2/ Large clean room 3/ Quiet location 4/ Excellent staff 5/ Great bed 6/ Very reasonably priced 7/ Able to use the pool at the sister Hotel Victor 8/ Wi Fi was superb

Review 99:If you pay the resort fee of $10 you can have the breakfast buffet at their sister hotel Hotel Victor, a four star, on the ocean, hang out at their pool or borrow towels and chairs and go to the beach so you get two hotels for the price of one. Casa Victoria is at the end of a pedestrian street but enough away from the restaurants that it was not noisy. The staff is very nice and helpful. The rooms are comfortable and there is a small refrigerator to keep snacks and drinks. It is only a couple of blocks from Lincoln Road where there are lots of shopping and restaurants.

Review 100:Pretty much nothing

Review 101:Val at the front desk was crazy helpful with everything we ever asked for , which was a lot of things , as well as all the other front desk staff . Cool decor and great location.

Review 102:We stayed at Victoria Orchid about a week, enjoyed our stay very much. Our suite was super clean & comfortable. The entire Staff were very welcoming, are friendly and helpful. Location is close enough to everything but far away from all the noise. Had a beautiful view of Española view from balcony, so romantic. I wish I could live there. :)

Review 103:Hot water needs to be a little hotter

Review 104:Terrific little hotel that provides great value. Wonderful staff. Gree coffee, beach towels and chair, and bikes!!!

Review 105:When we booked we were offered "breakfast included". What we didn't realize was that the hotel has no kitchen and breakfast was a half mile walk. Walls and floor are paper thin, could hear every noise from the room upstairs.

Review 106:Excellent location for exploring Sobe. Friendly staff. Clean modern decor.

Review 107:Breakfast is no longer served on the premises but in another hotel 15 mn away, which doesn't even have tea !

Review 108:Excellent location in the restaurant district of Miami beach and yet no noise at night from the outside. Room much more comfortable than expected from the pictures. Use of bicycles and beach towels included in the service charge.

Review 109:Kitchen has no cutlery, dishes, etc. We left food in the kitchen and ants, many of them, appeared We were told on arrival they do not serve breakfast in the hotel but could have it at other facility more than 10 min walk. Not really convenient. Almost $200 per night. Not worth it.

Review 110:Location, good sleep quality

Review 111:Room's only let down is the old and noisy AC and refrigerator units (which hampered our sleep). Oversized and uncomfortable pillows. Housekeeping was cleaning our room at 4pm (too late!!). Checkin at 11am, but checkout at 4pm.

Review 112:Casa Victoria Orchid is a cute hotel located at the lovely Espanyola Way, close to the beach and Lincoln Road Mall as well. The street has restaurants and cafes, but somehow CVO managed to be a quiet hotel. The staff is super-friendly and helpful. The room is spacious and partly renovated, wifi is good!

Review 113:parking (general problem in Miami), but the offer valet parking for 30 USD

Review 114:service and reception hospitality cooperation with 2 beachfront hotels (free usage of facilities)

Review 115:Forget free breakfast if offered. Extremely poor. Actually would be better if not offered. Terrible.

Review 116:Great room, comfortable bed. Great location. Friendly staff. Worth the money.

Review 117:Complementary breakfast sucked. You had to wait in a huge line. There was only one waitress and to make things even worse/slower: you had to order your breakfast from a menu which wasn't shown anywere.

Review 118:Near beaches and boulevard. I loved the additional use of beachtowels, -chairs and bikes.

Review 119:Parking not for free (33$ per day! Or 25$ per day with Valet) Breakfast location (music too loud and poor choices)

Review 120:Location Cleaning service in the room Bathroom facilities

Review 121:Being picky here because in my eyes nothings was wrong maybe more on the breakfast buffet

Review 122:We had problems with our visa to get to miami so we had to arrive a day later from our booking.. Still the staff was welcoming and directed us with what we needed to do... On the hotel... I researched for weeks finding the right hotel and came across this gem.. The area is just spot on so close to everything.. Espanola way is a fantastic place to walk or have a evening dinner.. Couples and family welcomed.. Staff was so welcoming and the hotel was just beautiful.. Miami is going to be a yearly trip and I know I be spending my time again in casa Victoria orchid fantastic hospitality.. Thank you

Review 123:Breakfast facilities are in the process of being revised - at the moment you have to go across the walkway to another hotel, it can be very busy!!

Review 124:The receptionists were fantastic, they were so helpful and friendly! Our room was clean and of a very good standard. The location was great - in a lovely spainish quarter of South Beach Miami, really pretty and very inviting. Definitely would stay again and recommend it to family and friends.

Review 125:The only problem was the A/C it was designed in a way that hits straight to your head while sleeping

Review 126:The staff were more than great,, it was an amazing stay.. I got help from all the staff, especially a lady from Dominican and another lady from Peru,, Location is great,, room is very clean and spacious... My car was towed and since I have a valet parking with the hotel, they paid me the fees of USD 280 back without any negotiation

Review 127:Quiet location on beautiful Espanola Way. Delicious breakfast omelets. Great helpful staff! Nice location, close to outdoor dining. Bikes, beach chairs, and beach towels provided.

Review 128:It was raining very hard and the hotel did not have umbrella's touse to get my bags and computer from the car. I was soaked and pissed bythe time I checked in. It rains a lot in Miami..... Get some courtesyumbrella's!!

Review 129:The updated look and the cleanliness of the room and hotel. Myexpectations were low and I was pleasantly surprised with the modernlook and, again, the cleanliness of the room and facilities.

Review 130:great location. nice big room. decent breakfast. great bikes

Review 131:minimalistic on breakfast

Review 132:very centrally located - get a free bike to tour SoBe efficently friendly & helpful staff!

Review 133:Noisy hallways

Review 134:Location it was like a little European rest .

Review 135:The ventilation system is inside the room (in a closet) and can be noisy. The breakfast is really bad for the price.

Review 136:Location and size of the room.

Review 137:Central to the action, Free Bicycles, friendly staff, Nice Rooms

Review 138:poor insulation of walls, ceiling .. you can hear what is said in the next room

Review 139:location
