Reviews for City Center Hotel
Review 1:The heater in our room didn't work properly, so we asked for another room and it didn't work well either. My husband noted that the vents in the heating system were completely plugged up. The manager gave us another room which was better so that was the third room we tried. All the rooms need heat/ac cleaned thoroughly. Could be a hazard for those with asthma or other health issues. The manager said she had someone come out before to service the heating but I told her it was her responsibility to make sure they did their job properly. She said she would take care of it, she really tried to help us. I'm glad she really tried to help us under the circumstances. One more thing, the body soap that is in the bathrooms is extremely drying to the skin. It doesn't pay to go to cheap on some things. Sorry I had to share this but it's needed if you want to stay in business. LP
Review 2:Helpful staff, interior "looked" clean.
Review 3:The manager said she would talk to me about the booking but she never did. She also said she would discount my booking on a wrong date but she never talked to me about it. I was available by phone the whole day.
Review 4:It was close to where my friend was staying.
Review 5:Everything was great...the room luggage rack was broken and the heater was programed strange. However in the hotels defense we did not complain about these items so they didn't have a chance to fix them.
Review 6:Staff are wonderful! They are there to help with any question you might have. Great TV...nice bathroom, comfortable beds. Nice workout room. Housekeeping staff were quick with any requests we had.
Review 7:I booked at $657 initially but cancelled it and rebooked at $576 later.. At the checkin, the manager insisted we pay $657 saying the difference from 576 is the 10 % tax - which is obviously not right. She became nasty and said she has a right to refuse our stay - had she done it, I would have charged her any damage and inconvenience caused by that. Later she became nice and had no problem during our stay.
Review 8:Location in downtown, staff (Rene especially) excellent.
Review 9:The lobby and hallways need to catch up to the rooms now.
Review 10:Do not let the outside of the building stop you from staying here. The rooms have been COMPLETELY renovated! I am a travel snob, and the rooms were nice and clean.
Review 11:No soap or toilet paper in the bathroom. The room had barely been cleaned before check-in.
Review 12:The mattress on the bed was really comfortable. The room was basic, but comfortable. Quiet, even though on main street.
Review 13:First room was dirty. Both beds had pubic hair on the sheets and look slept in. Second room we received was clean and have no complaints about it.
Review 14:Staff was very helpful with the dirty room situation in providing a second room..
Review 15:There was nothing I didn't like. I was looking for a clean place to lay my head every night and not a lot of excess or fanfare.
Review 16:The location was great for what I had planned. It was great to come back to a clean room with fresh towels and made beds every day.
Review 17:When we arrived, the bathroom was out of Kleenex-tissue, no toilet paper, the bathroom floor was dirty and had not clearly been swept, no soap either. No ice bucket. the room smelled like dirty socks or underwear. The vent in the bathroom is so dusty and dirty! although a non smoke room, the smell of cigarette smoke still filters through the vents. Housekeeping is obviously slacking on cleaning and tending to refreshing supplies in room.
Review 18:The staff is friendly, bed is comfy.
Review 19:Nothing. All very nice!
Review 20:Top room for a very decent price. Could borrow a hair dryer as i needed one. Coffee maker in the room. Verd clean. Good working wifi!
Review 21:Really nothing. No free breakfast.
Review 22:We got a great rate for two nights here, after deciding another location was substandard. The reviews were spot on - our room was clean, the beds were great, good thick towels, good shower. Even though our room was in the from of the building on the ground floor, it was quiet! Best of all, we are on a cycling tour, and we were able to leave our bikes in the room and walk to restaurants, market, museums, and the library, all within a few blocks. Carson City keeps the peace, we had absolutely no problems walking around. This was a great choice.
Review 23:No literature or telephone book in the room. No continental breakfast -but considering the price I paid, I really can't complain about thelack of some breakfast offerings - Oh yes, there was good coffeeavailable.
Review 24:Great location, safe neighborhood for walking around, immediateproximity to museums and historic buildings. Friendly staff. Clean andspacious room. Great price through Booking.com.
Review 25:pillows could be a little less firm or at least they could provide a variety of firmness of pillows in each room
Review 26:Convenient, fair value for what you get
Review 27:Air conditioning did not work. It made a lot of noise and put out neither airflow nor coolness.
Review 28:Staff was very helpful and reduced rate when we complained that air conditioning did not work. We had not called for engineering when we observed the problem.
Review 29:The beds were VERY comfortable both of us slept even better than we do at home. We stayed here fore and aft of a backpacking trip. The staff was very helpful; storing our "travel" luggage so we did not have to worry about car prowls at the trail head.
Review 30:The fan in the bathroom did not work Breakfast was not included, but we got by nicely with cold cereal Hallways smelled of cigarette smoke
Review 31:Hotel was conveniently located in the middle of town Very friendly and helpful personnel Great 3-sheet bedding (no bedspread) Good value Large refrigerator in the room
Review 32:It was cold and there were no blankets, the heater smelled up the whole room and we had to turn it off. I asked for blankets and was given one even tho' there were two of us staying there. The smoke alarm went off at night and whistled for and hour in the middle of the night.
Review 33:Close to gambling at Nugget
Review 34:The free wifi was useless.
Review 35:We liked the bed (but not the hard pillows - bring your own), the cleanliness, the proximity of the ADA room to the elevator (but no walk-in shower), the shower head, the TV (but not the crowded way we had to sit to watch it).
Review 36:First room had a bed that had been made but when the blankets were folded back, the sheets were dirty. Next room wasn't done at all. Third room was clean except for coffee pot.
Review 37:Location was great, employees were helpful.
Review 38:While it may look like an office building from the outside it is clean and comfortable on the inside. It's in a very central location and is a good value for the money.
Review 39:Hotel looks a little outdated, could need a renovation.
Review 40:Good location in what feels like miniature Las Vegas. Very good room rate, close to a couple of nice bars. Try "Firkin & Fox" nearby.
Review 41:We stood in room 207 over the weekend and all we could hear was the elevator .my husband went to the front desk to complain and all the person in the front desk said it's loud right .she didn't even try to do anything for us. Not move us or even gave us any discount for r room .
Review 42:Front lobby is tiny. Two or three families checking in would fill the space. Parking in the parking lot is limited
Review 43:The common areas and room floors were clean.
Review 44:The cleanliness of the room was OK. Bathroom floor needs a scrubbing, dust the light fixtures, empty condominium box in drawer by bed....
Review 45:The price was fair... Would be nice to have a coupon for breakfast nearby.
Review 46:Shower rod pulled off wall.. Staff said previous guest pulled it down, they apologized and offered to change room. No problem,
Review 47:Friendly Staff, easy access from street, clean, ,resonably priced.
Review 48:Everything was just perfect, quiet and clean. Location was the reason I chose hotel and I was within walking distance from where I was meeting. Comfy bed, warm room, quiet heater, fridge. Everything just fine.
Review 49:The staff did not acknowledge the people standing in line waiting to check in, one of the staff members was actually talking with a friend behind the desk, the other staff members had their heads down. We had to pay for parking to stay in this hotel. Why not incorporate that into the cost of the room?
Review 50:for the money this choice was a poor decision on my part
Review 51:HVAC Unit was very noisy, sounded like a wind storm coming through the window every time it kicked on, Locks on the door were old and would stick (Almost broke the key turning the lock to open the door), Found receipts from prior guest dating back to July in the drawers, Floor looked like it had not been vacuumed (small papers and rocks on floor), No stationary offered, No continental breakfast, No emergency exit plan posted in rooms.
Review 52:Front desk staff was friendly.
Review 53:house keeping left a envelope for tips I left a tip but didnt see nothing she or he did to earn one.
Review 54:I had a great room on the first floor facing the parking lot.it was a good view of the street and people watching.
Review 55:Couldn't sleep due to elevator noise all night long. Wi-fi was poor at best. TV cable kept going out off and on so trying to watch anything was annoying. Wouldn't stay here again.
Review 56:price
Review 57:WiFi was unacceptably unreliable. It would disconnect every few minutes, and I would have to reconnect. Signal strength was never more than 3 bars out of five on any connection. The room was a bit noisy, both from noise inside and outside the room.
Review 58:The rooms were fine, plenty of storage space, and especially appreciated the shelf space in the bathroom. Staff was pleasant and efficient.
Review 59:We had 2 Queen Beds and plenty of room. The beds were very comfortable and the mini fridge was a definite plus. Ruth Ann at the front desk was friendly and helpful and would have brought us a microwave if we wanted it. We went gambling instead! We hadn't been to Carson City in at least 25 years so either a lot has changed or our memories are vague...probably a little of both! The hotel was exactly where we needed to stay and the price ($57.20 incl tax) could not be beat. Even though it's on a main street, it was very quiet. Friendly, clean, quiet, safe and affordable. Great place to stay. Also, they will shuttle you to and from the Carson City Nugget Casino (but it is within easy walking distance too). We are going back and staying again next week!
Review 60:The room was nonsmoking but it still smelled like smoke . And the bed was so hard and so were the 1in pillows. And the room could of used a cleaning .The only thing that was good was the girl who checked us in , she was very friendly .
Review 61:Hallway smelled musty & like stale cigarettes smoke. No pool. No breakfast.
Review 62:The lady who checked us in was very nice and so was the lady who checked us out. Had a non smoking room.
Review 63:It's an old hotel. Stayed in a non smoking room, but the hallways smelled like smoke.
