Reviews for Greenstay Hotel & Suites

Review 1:The facility was under remodel...but the staff made the least inconvenient that they could. I would stay again even with the remodel in the works.

Review 2:The girls on the front desk were wonderful. We were from out of town and they did everything they could to help is in our stay.

Review 3:Noise; heater sounded like a Harley Davidson motorcycle and the walls are paper thin--could hear everything someone on the other side of every wall; bed was hard and not enough covers!! Cold!!

Review 4:Cleanliness

Review 5:The hotel is under major renovation and with the dust and the noise, should not even be open for business during this time. The concrete dust permeates the entire breakfast area and the lobby per se is completely torn up. Jack hammers and concrete sanding machines do not mix with a restful stay.

Review 6:We have stayed at this hotel many times and find the rooms very comfortable and the breakfast to be very good.

Review 7:Simple, clean and cozy. doesn't smell like it's been spray bombed with Glade. Only hotel I've stayed at and didn't leave with a headache.

Review 8:My bed was in need of replacing, but the front desk told me that they were in the process of replacing them at that very time, so I'd trust that they are since they were in the middle of remodelling in the lobby as well. The wifi was SLOW like dial up.

Review 9:I loved the free fruit, bottled water, and coffee machine that also made cappuccino and machiatto at all hours. That was such a fantastic bonus. The breakfast selection was really enjoyable too, with just about anything you could want. I also loved that they offered the free use of their two washers and dryers in the nicely equipped gym. Nice amenities.

Review 10:Nothing.

Review 11:The location suited our needs best and the price was very good. The continental breakfast was like a small buffet. The staff was also very nice.

Review 12:The hotel is very close to the train tracks and every hour there are trains going through; it's difficult to get a restful sleep when there are loud trains sounding their horns almost every hour. Besides the trains, the hotel is under construction and started work rather early. There is no shuttle service either.

Review 13:Friendly staff, convent location.

Review 14:Greenstay needs recycling stations conveniently located on both floors. The only ones I found were located down in the dining room.

Review 15:Very clean and in a fantastic location to access both Drury University and Mizzou State. The hot breakfast was very good, too. Nice workout room, too.

Review 16:Shower head had very low pressure and was too high for my 5'5" wife to reach. Also the door could not be locked to prevent anyone from entering the room with a key card. The breakfast was below average.

Review 17:Room was clean and the bed was very comfortable.

Review 18:Difficult to get to and from for the shops due to the expressway. Need a GPS.

Review 19:The receptionist was friendly, helpful and quick as no one else was waiting. We liked the overall appearance as we drove up and entered the reception area.

Review 20:I don't eat fast food. Had to travel to find dinner which was hard after a long day of driving and not knowing the area.

Review 21:Staff friendly. A good vibe. Quiet which is essential.

Review 22:There was plenty of hot water however the pressure was not that good.

Review 23:The room had everything we needed and then some. The breakfast was great. The staff was over the top with friendliness

Review 24:We booked a room with double beds and late arrival. When we checked in around 945 that evening, we were given the handicap room with one bed. we questioned the front desk and showed them our conformation email. Then we got the old "I'm so sorry. We are full. I will leave a note for the Manager" speech. Which means, "Fake smile, fake apology, leave me alone. I want to get back to my phone."

Review 25:The first night I pulled the covers back on one of the beds, I found long brown hairs and , a yellow stain on the pillows and bed. I called down stairs and the attendant came right up with clean linen and made the bed. We made registration for two days, but on the second day, while out moving my son into his college dorm, our room was unregistered by the hotel staff for the second night due to none payment? When my husband and I arrived back at the hotel , our keys did not work. We arrived to the front desk, and there was already two people there apparently with the similar problems. The attendant told me my card on file declined in front of everyone. After reviewing the information, it was discovered the wrong card number was in my registration. I don't know why, because I gave the night attendant my card when we arrived to the hotel the first night, and I must have left it at the front desk, because when we awakened the next morning, the card was under my room door. Anyway the second attendant told us in front of everyone our card was declined and we had not paid for the first night, therefore the second night was cancelled. I gave her the card, which had nine times the room amount as a balance and she said it would only cover one night. As I begin to get frustrated by the entire event, so did the attendant. Her voice begin to raise in an assaulting manner. It ended with my husband giving another card for payment. Funny thing is after all this drama, she very loudly began giving instructions about smoking to us, which neither myself nor my husband smokes in front of now five people in line behind us. How embarrassing!!! So customer service is was not professional the second night. She made their error our problem.

Review 26:I have never stay in any hotel for this price that did not have some type of odor. From the time I walked into the hotel I noticed how clean the hotel was. After entering my room I was even more impressed. The room had no offensive odors of any kind. The bed was rather small for my husband and I but really comfortable once the attendant came and changed the sheets. I will stay in hotel again.

Review 27:I'm ok using the stairs, but it might be hard for others. Only one elevator in the center. Ask for first floor if stairs are an issue.

Review 28:Easy location, nice staff, good breakfast.

Review 29:wet carpet by a/c unit, crickets in room, huge gap under front door let light in, HALLWAYS SMELLED LIKE CAT PEE MIXED WITH CURRY AND B.O. Practically had to hold my breath while I walked to my room. Nearby railroad was noisy, too. sharing the shampoo and soap dispensers in the shower was gross, too.

Review 30:Granite countertops in bathroom were beautiful, bed was comfy.

Review 31:I liked the breakfast except I like meat with it like bacon or sausage and I didn't see those.

Review 32:My son and I enjoyed our stay and would do it again. He loved the pool.

Review 33:We were traveling on a motorcycle. Perfect location for us to stop for the night. Very personable staff, clean, and comfortable. Pool area was great also.

Review 34:The lobby was smoldering hold. I know the weather was crazy hot, but walking out of my room into the hall, took my breath away.

Review 35:The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. I have worked in hospitality for 10 years and I am kind of a critic by now, unfortunately, but this one was a great bang for my buck. We will be back.

Review 36:I couldn't tell if they were renovating or needed to, but it looked a little rough in areas. Rooms smelled a little musty. WiFi was horrible. I couldn't even use it in the evening because it took forever to load pages. Probably low on bandwidth for the amount of traffic using it.

Review 37:Close to the interstate and Missouri State Campus where we were visiting. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Staff was friendly and a good breakfast bar.

Review 38:The green factor, dual flush toilet was a plus. American made Dial soap was another plus. Excellent breakfast. Enough choices for everyone. Enjoyable stay. Pleasant staff.

Review 39:We understand the need to protect the mattress, but whatever was protecting it made us a little warm.

Review 40:We liked the use of earth and people friendly products for cleaning. We don't use harmful chemicals in our home and appreciate Greenstay for doing the same.

Review 41:The worst was the internet connection - unless you are close to the lobby there isn't a good connection. We had issues with our fridge. There were several hairs in the bathroom (that weren't ours). The walls are paper-thin... not a pleasant stay...

Review 42:The pool and free laundry were the only nice things about the stay (especially with young children).

Review 43:Construction was not quite complete related to replacing the main stairway in the lobby with an elevator.

Review 44:Rooms were nice, breakfast was great, overall hotel was very nice.

Review 45:When we walked in, the floor was dirty. Check in was Ok, but when we went down the hall to our room the hallway smelled like body oder. Once in our room, the first thing we noticed was that the refriger compressor made a noise like a siren that kept us up all night. Will not be back.

Review 46:Easy to get to.

Review 47:The only suggestion I would make is brighter lighting in the dressing area and bathroom.

Review 48:Friendly, helpful staff, beautiful room, comfortable bed. Convenient microwave and fridge in room. Great air conditioning!

Review 49:They charged me twice. The hotel is too close to the railroad tracks soforget about sleeping. If you were my friend I would tell you to notstay here!!!!

Review 50:Breakfast Coffee machine was excellent.

Review 51:Breakfast is the same every single day, the staff of the breakfast is not frendly at all. The linnens needs to be replaced.

Review 52:The staff at the front desk, the fast check in an check ot.

Review 53:Our group has stayed here each year for the last 4 years, They work to accomodate the individual needs for the group of 13 rooms that were booked. The staff is always friendly.

Review 54:Employees were awesome. I will recommend this place to people that are traveling to Springfield. Went there for MSU graduation and our stay was awesome.

Review 55:Renovations going on outside our room. Room on highway side of hotel and could hear highway traffic. Crowded dining area. At times slow wifi.

Review 56:The room was clean. Food was hot and kept fresh at breakfast.

Review 57:The stink in the rooms. It smelled like mildew or cat pee. We had to be moved to another room. The carpet was off the floors down the hallway and wallpaper peeling off the walls.

Review 58:The breakfast.

Review 59:The only downfall of the hotel was the proximity of the train tracks. Probably six trains passed during the night we stayed. We were visiting Mo State University so a little bit of a drive, but not too bad, maybe 10 minute drive.

Review 60:The hotel was great! Very clean, attractive and modern (Remodeling the lobby but clearly upgrading). Good breakfast and well maintained rooms. Friendly staff. Great value for the room. Would definitely stay there again!

Review 61:No complaints whatsoever!!!!

Review 62:Great wonderful staff, very friendly, nice clean rooms.. And one of thesweetest managers named Laura.. She does her job well and is veryprofessional.. Highly recommend this hotel! Free onsite laundryfacilities if u need to wash something last minute and 24/7 coffeeavailable. Great area/location!! Love this place

Review 63:The room was comfortable with a large closet for luggage and extras. The bed was very comfortable. The pillows were not great, but it did not ruin the experience.

Review 64:The double beds are small. The air conditioner did not cool properly.

Review 65:The Cappuccino machine! That also had all varieties and flavors in decaf! The cookies and fresh fruit. Also nicely decorated rooms with fridge and microwaves

Review 66:An easy-to-access and more than affordable stay with a very comfortable bed & clean room! Would highly recommend for travelers passing through area.

Review 67:Room and the linens were not fresh. Only one small bar of soap for the sink and shower. Not enough. Cleanliness not as good as previous visits. Not planning a return.

Review 68:Only thing we didn't like was how dimly lit the dressing area and bathroom were.

Review 69:Hotel was just what we expected for the price since we had stayed there before.

Review 70:The ugly new sofa or bed type seating in the lobby, they had really nice leather sofas and chairs but have removed them for very out of place modern seating that is terrible for the older guests!

Review 71:Free laundry outside pool!

Review 72:We booked based on good reviews and although we were tentative, we were not disappointed at all! Excellent stay! Don't change anything or become complacent. all the special touches along with cleanliness and friendly staff will keep you going strong!

Review 73:Hotel is located near a major train intersection. Horn from train woke me up at 3am, and needless to say ruined my sleep that night. Probably wouldn't stay again solely due to train.

Review 74:Staff was excellent. Room was nice, especially for the money.

Review 75:Bathroom and area in front of it slightly dim. A little more lighting would have been nice.

Review 76:Room was clean, Bed comfortable, nice to have microwave and refriderator in room.

Review 77:Did you see the I Love. Lucy episode about staying ar a bad hotel near a train crossing? Train horns blared every 15 minutes al night. No outlets near bed. No available outlets to plug in computer. Had to ask for power strip to charge phone tablet and laptop.

Review 78:Staff is very pleasant and accommodating

Review 79:I have never stayed in a better hotel!! We were so impressed with everything about it. The staff was incredibly friendly, the breakfast was perfect and I loved all the little extra amenities I found in my room! The bathroom's decor was better than being at home! Thanks for a great stay!

Review 80:-Room smelled a little musty -Staff could have been more friendly

Review 81:-Nice spacious room -Quality/variety of breakfast -Comfortable bed -Large channel selection -Great WiFi

Review 82:It was very nice to have a 'pet friendly' room that did not appear/smell like a 'pet friendly' room! The breakfast area appeared clean, and the staff pleasant. We felt the location was convenient and safe. I hope to be able to find a special rate for our next trip! I like the idea of supporting a 'green facility' whenever possible. Thanks for a relaxing overnight stay, during our 'cross country' trip.

Review 83:Good friendly staff, comfortable room, excellent breakfast with great variety and quality of food. Wi-Fi was good and I liked the environmental commitment of the hotel

Review 84:We travel from MI to AZ and back twice a year .... we have stayed at many budget hotels, some acceptable and some not so. We now make an effort to stay at Greenstay in Springfield. Very high end at budget price ..... and very clean!

Review 85:Frequent sounds of the nearby trains partially disrupted my sleep. I could even feel the vibration from the trains as they neared the hotel's location. Otherwise, the hotel was conveniently located near US 65 - although my GPS signalled me to turn left too quickly and I ended up driving an extra 4 miles before I was able to return to the correct left turn.

Review 86:For the most part this was a very good hotel.

Review 87:Decor especially the lobby was very outdated. Property was a little noisy being right next to Hwy 65 and our room was next to an entrance.

Review 88:Room was good size, clean and comfortable. Good location for getting around the city. Computer access in the lobby. Good breakfast.

Review 89:Where we stayed is near a train track so we could hear the train whistle, but that didn't prevent us from staying there a second time.

Review 90:The beds are extremely comfortable. I'd like to buy one for myself! They have a nice continental breakfast and very friendly staff.

Review 91:A little far from the main highway for us, had to carry belongings down icy steps into the hotel, and saw a little bug trying to get into our room but it was a clean room. Nothing serious. Would stay here again.

Review 92:Staff was very friendly and helpful. We traveled with a baby and were offered a pack 'n play, extra necessities, and a more convenient room closer to our truck. Great breakfast (Mochaccino is delicious), easy wifi, nice hot shower, clean room, comfy bed. Good stay for the price.

Review 93:Time to get the elevator in. We weren't on the second floor this time, but in suggesting this particular Greenstay we are concerned friends might get the second floor and have to use the stairs with their luggage.

Review 94:The hot breakfast is consistently good. Love that coffee, hot chocolate, etc. are always available. The location is great for downtown Springfield, to hop on the highway to Branson or Lamberts.

Review 95:We were in Springfield for Family Weekend at MSU. We usually stay at another hotel but could not pass up the price GreenStay was offering. We will continue to stay at GreenStay from now on. Location is perfect and easy on the wallet! What all parents need now a days! Very clean and had a great nights sleep!

Review 96:We were there for an MSU event, and it was not far from campus. Very clean and the breakfast was good. Beds were comfortable too. I liked the separate counter outside the bathroom with a stool and a makeup mirror.

Review 97:small convenience elevator was being installed, should be completed very soon

Review 98:Our 2 night stay was excellent, great breakfast, friendly staff, room was very clean and comfortable over all 9+

Review 99:The air conditioner made a siren sound all night. But, we were provided a fan and the dog fee was eliminated due to the complaint we had about the noise.

Review 100:We liked the breakfast, the all day coffee, and the convenience. We also got to take the dog.

Review 101:Large room. Comfy bed. Nice outdoor pool. Over all a very good stay. Bonus of late check out time of noon gave us a quick last swim before leaving. If ever back would stay again

Review 102:On going renovations at front door and stairs, not a big problem

Review 103:Convenient location Good breakfast Clean room Comfortable beds A/C worked well Nice granite counter in bath Loved non smoking all of the hotel!! Best price in the area Staff even gave us an additional room for the same low price! Good breakfast

Review 104:The soap, but that's not their fault....just a personal preference...best to bring your own.

Review 105:We really enjoyed our stay. It was very clean and the staff was super nice and helpful. No complaints at all and we will be staying with them again.

Review 106:Not exactly a dislike, however as a mature couple, very glad to see an elevator being installed.

Review 107:The facility is lovely, the room large & comfortable. Everything is very clean. Nice breakfast available. Greeted friendly and heard staff interact with other guests just the same.

Review 108:Wish I made more trips to this area to stay here.

Review 109:Very friendly staff. Lora checked us in and was very nice and helpful. Wish she would have been working when checkung out. Clean facilities. Awesome breakfast.

Review 110:This place was perfect. The staff was very friendly and the room was perfect. I can't think of anything that would be an improvement to this stay. No hotel compared to this one on my two week trip. The value for my money in a long time.

Review 111:There was remodeling going on during our visit which made the stairs to the top floor inconvenient. There was also a broken chair in the hallway at the top of the stairs. The hallway carpeting wasn't vacuumed very well which made me think the rooms were not very nice even though they are.

Review 112:I liked how inexpensive the hotel is for the type of hotel it is. The rooms are very nice for the price and comfortable beds.

Review 113:Lobby area had been under construction and was sitting there in a half-done state that was quite ugly. Located rather far from most city sites we were interested in. I wasn't happy that they charged me more than the Bookings.com reservation said they would.

Review 114:Very nice breakfast room and pretty good breakfast offerings. They also made coffee and hot chocolate available all day long. Free computers in the lobby were very welcome. I like the idea of trying to achieve a lower carbon footprint.

Review 115:No complaints! Even with ongoing construction in the lobby, there was minimal inconvenience.

Review 116:Great staff. Great breakfast area. My wife and I have knee and hip problems. With the elevator not in service yet, they were able to accommodate us on the first floor. Our room was very quiet, even though we were only a few doors away from the lobby and the pool was outside our window. Cookies and fruit bowls in the lobby and lunch area were appreciated. Not that far from I-44. We will continue to use this motel on our trips to Oklahoma City from Northern Indiana.

Review 117:Can't think of a thing!

Review 118:After staying in several hotels/motels on our trip this was not only the best value but also one of the cleanest and most modern of rooms we had along with a great breakfast. Would definitely stay at a Greenstay again if one would be in our stay area.

Review 119:Lobby was a mess, elevator being repaired. No carpeting going up the lobby steps. Our 1st room the air was not working properly and started making banging noises. They gave us another suite and the air conditioning was not keeping the room cool either. Checked out and went to another hotel at 10:00 pm! In addition they are next to a train track with freight trains. Not a good experience. Will not stay here. Front desk manager was pleasant and understood completely.

Review 120:We stayed here even though we had to drive that evening over twenty miles to get to our business destination. The stay is worth the drive. Lord willing, we'll be back!

Review 121:This is the second time we have been here and both times were delightful, staff, breakfast, cleanliness, location of the building itself. It's just difficult to get to from route 65, having to go past a messed up exit, past Hardee's to turn in. But, once there it is wonderful. And, we appreciate being able to have our miniature dog with us.

Review 122:They were a better place than where i have stayed including best western and i was a member there. But im gonna stay at a greenstay when one is available very impressed

Review 123:Was under construction during my stay

Review 124:Staff was extremely friendly. Good for the environment!

Review 125:No bad experience but I noticed that the mirror and few things were not dusted in the bathroom.

Review 126:Nice room!!

Review 127:train tracks nearby, train horn throughout the night

Review 128:Refrigerator in room noisy.

Review 129:comfortable beds, nice breakfast included
