Review 1：The pool deck is scruffy, tired and grubby. We found condom wrappers and rubbish when we went to use one of the cabanas, yuk!

Review 3：The noise! I appreciate that south beach is a party area, but the noise levels were full on! There is a pumping bar next door with drag shows that are soooo loud- we may as well have been in the bar. We noticed the noise immediately and requested a quieter room however none were available. We were assured it would finish 11:30 but this was not the case. Noise insulation is terrible - our neighbours blasted the TV until 4am we could hear every word of what they were watching and couldn't sleep. I have stayed in hotels around the world - and hostels when I was younger and never have I experienced such insane noise levels. We were exhausted by the end of our stay as barely got a few hrs sleep and sadly not due to partying. Massive construction site out the back too, so our swim was like being in the building site. 24 hr a day intense noise! It was really full on. We need a holiday to recover from our holiday.

Review 36：I have stayed at the Tides many times before, however this time I booked via an agency. The special details requested were not received by the hotel which caused issues. This was resolved but impacted the stay. Had to wait a while for service on many occasions as I feel the staff has changed dramatically in the past 12 months....not for the better.

Review 38：The location of the hotel next to a bar made it very difficult to rest in the evening with the constant sound of loud disco music in our room. When we notified the staff, they were polite, but couldn't offer any assistance. A recommendation would be to install sound proof windows, but city policies restrict any modifications to the art deco exterior. Sadly too much noise is the main reason we won't be coming back.

Review 39：The location on ocean drive allowed us easy access to the beach and restaurants in Miami Beach. Additionally, the cleaning crew did a fantastic job even though my wife and I were a little messier than usual.

It's amongst bars and restaurant on ocean drive. Two blocks behind is espanola way a pretty street with tapas restaurants, fish & seafood. Avalon a fish restaurant worth a visit. The Tides staff were very friendly. A quiet hotel. Our room was next to the lift, but we were not disturbed by any noise. Neither did we hear any noise from outside the hotel. Review 43：The front desk has given us some wrong information about the car we rented, and the agent we were dealing with. There is no coffee maker, or tea maker, and you have to pay for your morning coffee! that was a shock to be frank, and its not cheap at all! you better get a starbucks for your coffee!

While location was good (ocean view, high floor), the room seemed not worth the price. A good, complementary breakfast offering would have softened the disappointment.

Review 51：Bad staff. The price is very expensive for what the hotel gives. The manager was very rude answering my questions. The location is beside lots of very busy bars and restaurants, very noise because of the parties. The toilet at the room have no door. We have no privacy at all. As a 5 star hotel, it should have at least a few things better to make the guest happy. But it was a shame at all. Do not recommend.

Review 55：This hotel has seen its day. It looks like they haven't spent a penny since opening. The room is quite large (I had an ocean view studio) but clearly there is no priority on maintenance. The light bulbs were out. The walls water stained. The desk stained. The windows too thi the block the street noise (and my room was almost at the top). When I wanted to check in early they refused to look simply saying no. When it was time to leave they called 11 minutes after check out time to threaten to charge me $50. I was just closing my bags and left 6 minutes later. You could pay me to go back! Oh and there is no guide to hotel services (something every hotel and even motel has) and when I informed them (I was trying to find their pool) they said "oh that's a great idea I will have to tell management"). You couldn't pay me to go back.

The pool is very small and the gym small but nice. THE evening there is a bit of noise for a room below but are up to 23.30. The whole 5 days we paid $ 2,400 without breakfast.
