Reviews for Eden Roc Miami Beach
Review 1:Had been promised a comp upgrade away from the construction by Kaytlin (by a letter) Was taken to a basement room with no view with concrete walls that looked like a panic room.. Then they found a room with the glass rail veranda on 7th floor. Asked for more hangers and none was delivered. Was right above construction of a new pool area with noise and dust. Surrounding pool areas were dusty too and no one was there,. No food accept Japanese Save your money and don't go here. Go to FB for a little more $. Really made us sad for our 50th Aniv.
Review 2:The bed was very comfortable but you can get that most anywhere
Review 3:Hotel needs upgrading (pools surrounding, poolside bar , rooms, basics like light bulb ETC) to justify price. Missing a basic place to get a newspaper.
Review 4:Overall nice stay. Staff was friendly and very accommodating. Beach great. Hotel is GRANDE and nice throwbacks to 1950's era- lives they kept authentic elevators in older tower and floor and pillars in lobby- cool m. Buffet breakfast served in Nobu is fresh and delicious. Love that even at buffet they cook eggs or pancakes , or waffles in kitchen to order and have it delivered to you.
Review 5:Really bad service. Overall deceptive responsive from managers and staff whenever we tried to place a complaint. Incredibly difficult to get anything to eat or drink at the pool or beach. Lines at the restaurant for breakfast, despite empty tables. Impossible to get anything to eat in the hotel aside from Nobu or in room dining, so if you feel like sitting and asking for a burger at the lobby, forget. I didn't feel comfortable at all, in fact, the whole staff didn't help me feel welcome. They were understaffed and stressed. The hotel was undergoing renovations that affect a big portion of the common area and were supposed to end before we got there, but instead it didn't - those will last until spring 2016. They didn't let us know about that and still charged us full price despite the fact that the facilities were not fully available. I heard from an employee that the idea is to have half of the hotel ran as the NoBu hotel and the other half still as Eden Roc (two towers) and I can see how that can make customers disappointed from now! I had the worst feelings about all of these initiatives and the way guests are being handled so far.
Review 6:Nobu restaurant in site.
Review 7:i would have liked a breakfast included for the money i spent, but my main gripe was the parking situation! It was horrendous, to park my car at the hotel was $48 dollars per day bringing my total to $816 for parking plus my car rental. Whilst i understand that the opening of Nobu is a major draw for the hotel i do think that paying guests should be the hotels priority. Even with all this said there is a huge car park right next door that is a better option, but then at the weekend representatives of miami whatever cordon it off and charge you $20 to park overnight till 8am then you have to get yourself up at 07.30am on your holiday to go feed the meter! thats Fri! Sat! Sun! And remember i was there over christmas so lots of holiday days they were set up again! i can't see why there can't be some sort of concession for hotel guests. Other guests taking chairs at the pool, then not using them all day although there was not a spare chair, shouldn't be allowed put a 40 minute limit on,then give the chairs up.
Review 8:great view, two great managers,
Review 9:This hotel has a great location in North Miami Beach. The restaurant Nobu was fantastic(but very expensive) We were there over New Years and Hotel is still under going renovations. Will be better when that all is completed and they have more dining choices. Starbucks in lobby was a plus!
Review 10:Partial construction - lots of banging early in the morning. Expensive! Lots of hidden fees - $21 per person MANDITORY resort fee. If it must be paid, then include it in the advertised room rate.
Review 11:Friendly staff. Excellent location.
Review 12:The property was under renovation which we did not know when we booked. The pool service team had several different areas to cover, so service was slow. food took forever.
Review 13:Staff was very nice and attentive. Property is lovely, although needs some touch up In the rooms.
Review 14:very poor customer service, treated like cattle, shocking communication skills, checked in room not ready until 16.30, only interested in taking credit card details, no info on hotel or hotel layout of facilities. just left to find your own way. parking 42 dollars per day, money taken off me when I received ticket and car taken off me. then same charges went on room bill.
Review 15:the room had a nice view,
Review 16:Pool hours. Wish they had open it till late hours. Parking is too expensive.
Review 17:The resort was right on the beach. It was little drive away from the main Strip aka South Beach but you can alway cab it or drive it down there. I was travelling with my 2 year old son so we had a rentak car with car seat else inwould have just cab it tonSouth beach to avoid Parking hassle. Overall, it was a great experience. I wish we had the room the newer building. The wifi was great...
Review 18:The bar prices were way too high...for drinks on hand- i.e no Jack Daniels and no Jim Beam...in an American hotel!
Review 19:Room was v nice, excellent bed and shower room.
Review 20:In one of our rooms the maid disposed of memorabilia from Miami Heat game. Hopefully an innocent mistake and she didn't keep them ?
Review 21:The bed was more comfortable than my own! The staff were very friendly regardless of where you were in the hotel. The part of the hotel we stayed in was two times better than the other side.
Review 22:A liitle bit disappointment in the restaurant as the price is high but not as good as expected in service and food. No jacuzzi in the pool area (informed by staff) no time to visit all pools.
Review 23:The staffs are great and very helpful. Locaton of the hotel is excellent. The management is flexible. They made the all hotel Enviorment very friendly. Resort is great and easy access to the beach.
Review 24:I was in a terrible room. Apparently, there is a 'new' side andan 'old' side. I booked online and ended up on the old side. Thehotel was booked, so I wasn't able to switch rooms until my finalnight (Sunday), in which I only was able to sleep in the room, then wakeup and head to the airport at 530am.
Review 25:Hotel atmosphere was great... Met a lot of cool people at the bar, andmade a few new business contacts.
Review 26:The hotel was not as luxurious as I would have expected from the price.
Review 27:We paid extra to stay in the new section of the hotel and have a nice beach view.
Review 28:Fantastic food, helpful and. Knowledgeable staff. Great location, amazing views from the ocean view rooms. It was so amazing to have breakfast on the balcony listening to the ocean waves crashing.
Review 29:I wasn't thrilled that construction was still taking place, so oneof the pools closed, and lots of noise from workers, machines outside(temporary I'm sure.) There was no gift shop on site?? Which, for ahotel of this calaber (with Fountainbleau Hotel next door...)should havea promenade of shops! :D More dining options as well. Photos whenbooking were bit decieving, as part of the reason I booked room I didwas that it had a sunbed on the balcony? Only had a table and 2 smallchairs when arrived? Staff was great, except for when I'd call downto the reception (always seemed to get someone not very exciting oreager to please.)
Review 30:The spa was fabulous (love my therapist too..one of the best massagesI've had!) The room was perfectly set up with the bed in center ofroom facing view of the ocean. Breathtaking each morning to wake up to!Loved the hot tub as well, that opened up into the room. Bed was supercomfy, loved bathroom set-up, and the bottles of water included. Lastly, the loungers by the ocean and service included in price was top notch! The new lobby bar is excellent. Very hip with a classy vibe. Woulddefiantely stay here again when renovations completed.
Review 31:Nobu, restaurant. was too over priced. Some construction going on, but not a problem for my wife and I.
Review 32:Excellent location. Room very clean, staff VERY friendly .
Review 33:Nothing that I can think off
Review 34:I got a complementary upgrade to an ocean view room no 1641. Loved the view from the room, sunny swimming pool, staff very friendly and welcoming
Review 35:cleanliness hallway at room floors not so good. 2 out of 4 elevators out of service whole week
Review 36:good room, and friendlyness of staff, responsiveness when i forgot some belongings after i left
Review 37:The check-in and front desk in general was not how it should be - we did not get any information about the hotel and the services, nor an explanation on how to get to the beach, as the normal ways were blocked due to construction. We did not feel welcome during the whole check-in process performed by Nigel. Booking.com mentioned that the construction will be over in October, however, it was not, so we only had access to one small pool and the spa pool. The lobby bar was also closed. Our room was facing the sea, as mentioned on the confirmation, but also faced a huge parking lot next to the hotel, definitely not what we expected. Chairs are included at the beach, but not the umbrellas, which adds another $20 per day. All in all, the hotel would be nice but only once the renovations are fully completed, otherwise it's just not worth the price.
Review 38:The room was very clean, also, it was big with a nice balcony, we had a suite facing the sea. Housekeeping, pool & restaurant staff were very friendly and welcoming. Drinkes are served at the pool and beach directly which is very nice.
Review 39:Arrived at hotel at 2 pm...did not get room until 4:15pm. Never saw the consierge. When we asked where he/she was, no one knew. We never saw a consierge Fri-Sat_Sun.
Review 40:Location
Review 41:Food prices were a bit pricey but other than that it was great
Review 42:I loved the staff and the overall service of the resort/hotel would love to come back
Review 43:Upon arrival I found out that they were charging my card 300 up front for incidentals, which was not noted as well as we only received two beach chairs per room, even though I paid for four people. Each additional beach chair was 13.00, again not noted anywhere.. We also came to learn that the hotel was under renovations, another thing we should have been made aware of prior to our arrival.. We were in Miami for a bachlorette party and my friends fiancé sent us a bottle of champagne for the room; however we only received two glasses they wanted to charge us 3.00 extra for each additional glass, after charging 175.00 for the bottle.. Look I am usually not one to complain about up charges, but I just felt this was ridiculous. The straw that broke the camels back it that there were 6 elevators on our side of the hotel and only two were operating, which would not have been an issue if we did not have to wait 10-15mins every time we needed the elevator.. Finally by they last day we had to take the stairs with all of our luggage so we did not mis our flight.
Review 44:I enjoyed the poolside service!!
Review 45:The construction that was going on while i was there was very annoying. The location is not close to the main attraction but its a quick cab ride away. Big balconys but no chairs, which sucked.
Review 46:The hotel is very clean and the staff is amazing. The room and the balcony was very big. Loved the pool area
Review 47:The noise from the lobby construction was very annoying. The beeping sounds from the equipment was set for outside levels, which was way too loud for inside, and a non-stop distraction.
Review 48:everything was nothing I expected!! Front desk service was ok... They didn't look like they were friendly at all. She was kind of rude when I ask her about all the charges, also we had a comp breakfast and they ended up charges us and then she found out we had the resort charge and comp free when I ask her about it. But she was not up to look for the problem!! I would not recommend staying here for a couples getaway. They charged for everything even the umbrella for the beach which was $19.99 and they couldn't find find our room number for our beach benches. What a mess.
Review 49:I'm not sure what I like.
Review 50:Room wasn't cleaned very well. Lighting to and from the pool bar pool was totally inadequate, verging on dangerous. The bar in the hotel was either empty all closed, this left the poolside bar for both food and drink and this closed at the silly time of 11 pm.
Review 51:Staff very welcoming and accomodating
Review 52:The receptionist. As she did not fellow the booking room details andgave us a room with out a sea -view and that was not cleaned. We bookedand paid extra for a sea-veiw room. When. I told the reception that theroom is not sea view room. We where shown 2 rooms with out a sea veiw.Very disappointed. I would not recommend this hotel for the price. Hadto pay for Hotel parking which was too expensive $42 Per night. Againdisappointing.
Review 53:The beach near the hotel. The Hotel porters were very helpful.
Review 54:The rooms no microwave and wifi was weak and elevator was getting stuck. And the pool close way to earlier at least allow access to the jacuzzi
Review 55:The hotel was nice and spacious with nice views
Review 56:I check out earlier because my kids got bored and they charge 300 dolls extra I almost expend 2000 dolls per 3 nights. I recommend people not to stay there.
Review 57:$45.00 a night for parking - really? They are also doing work on the hotel main lobby and bar - so the entire center of the hotel was walled off and closed - also a portion of the pool was closed off for upgrades as well. Think they would offer a discount during construction.
Review 58:I liked everything.
Review 59:I loved everything about our stay at the hotel. When everything is finished with this hotel it will be a great place for everyone. I love that you can get drinks for free, the valet ppl were friendly, and everything was close by.
Review 60:The WiFi is decent but only in the room. There was virtually no connection anywhere around the pools, which I believe should be a given that everyone would want.
Review 61:Pretty much everything was great.
Review 62:Our food was that not great we ordered a steak thing it cost 45$
Review 63:The free drink tickets and our bartender outside was great. She mentioned she has worked their for years. She was knowledgeable and engaged everyone at the bar. Please give her a gold star or something from the Detroit girls. Front desk agent was patient and spent time with us upon or decision to upgrade or not.
Review 64:Lack of entertainment, and things to do on property in light of bad weather also the bar closed at midnight.
Review 65:Loved the location, the room, and most of the staff was very nice especially front desk staff and concierge
Review 66:It was undergoing construction but it was much more than website indicated. Very noisy from 7:30am and all day. They probably reduced rates to reflect this but it then brought in guests you wouldn't want to mix with - my children and myself were subjected to appalling language and threats by one of the guests. Gym equipment out of date and payment required for classes.
Review 67:Beach front location
Review 68:The only thing I didn't like was the massage I was recommended by the spa agent at the front desk to get the honey massage it was the worst the lady who gave me the massage didn't know what she was doing I was sticky with the honey I paid $192 and wasted my time and money didn't feel comfortable or relax at the end I left mad from the spa so I don't think I'll get a massage there.
Review 69:Well it was one of the most Beautiful hotel. I have stayed at 5 Star hotels before, but I feel like this hotel was on point with everything the location was perfect so yes I'll come back and stay here.
Review 70:I have been coming to this hotel for 3 years, I hope the arrival of Nobu and the clients it attracts won't spoil the Magic and care of Eden Roc
Review 71:I would like to point out the following staff who went out of there way to look after myself and my daughter during our stay : Alexandra- Front of house !! Hannah, Kalford- pool & beach bar !!! Patrick - chef All of the above could not do more to make our stay perfect
Review 72:Small king bed and remodeling project.
Review 73:The Valet is worth EVERY penny!!wonderful guys! "King" bed was not a king. Remodeling was quite noisy at times.
Review 74:Very noise staff. House keeping all the times comes to knock the door screaming "house keeping" while there was no disturb panflets on the door. Very noise hotel, every hour comes someone from the hotel knocking on your door.
Review 75:Good and fast internet; good location
Review 76:I didn't like the fact that we had to move to another room because it was water running from the bathroom. The on top of that we had to pay the same price for the room they moved us in.
Review 77:They hotel was nice.
Review 78:Property under construction. We were not notified. Room house keeping unreliable and not thorough. Never changed linens even though I asked. Long lines for breakfast. Food was poor. Cafeteria style. Walk to pool was very inconvenient because of construction. Lobby and pool area noisy and very dusty. My worst hotel experience EVER!
Review 79:View of the ocean
Review 80:Construction work, slow lifts, waiting for breakfast, paying for things that I didn't get, no where to relax, no restaurant at night, pop up bar closed at 10pm!! Wasn't luxury!!
Review 81:I didn't like anything about this hotel
Review 82:renovation noezness very expensive parking fee Swimming pool closing time it should be later
Review 83:Location and cleaness Complementary free water , coffe and tea
Review 84:We know the hotel lobby and main swimming pool was being renovated. The truth is that that area is an open construction site until late night with loud jack hammer noise. The 2 pool left for kids with are over-crowded with families and single people, when the adult pool remains empty. After 2pm the pools are too overcrowded, it is just not possible any more. I understand the hotel has to be renovated during summer, I think it should be clearly stated which is not. I am curious to know what Booking thinks about that.
Review 85:the location and the beach
Review 86:we did not like the valet parking fee of $42.00 plus tax, however the valet parkers were great.
Review 87:we really liked the vouchers that were giving to us for drinks, that was a great complimentary incentive. we liked the friendly staff, that meant a lot to us.
Review 88:We didn't like all the construction going on Around the pools it could be quite noisy but you could see the finished result is going to be fantastic
Review 89:swimming pool dirty, swimming pool sometimes closed for private party, very expensive car parking, very expensive drinks, and breakfast, beach close at 18.00 hours, elevator is not working so we needed to go often by emergency exit (stairs), fire alarm go off very often.
Review 90:The Gym was oke and also the cleaning of the room was oke
Review 91:im a value for money kind of woman and I was disdained at how many renovations they had going which unfortunately did not reflect the price we paid. No where had they mentioned that they had renovations and it was during 4th July weekend (worst weekend to decide to renovate your entire hotel?!)
Review 92:The rooms were well maintained and the view was substantial the beds were absolutely amazing.
Review 93:Hotel had renovations being carried out, so 1 pool was closed. Food in restaurant delicious, but pricey.
Review 94:The room and the great view and great breakfast
Review 95:Construction everywhere bars closed, pool closed, other pools are open, construction noise... no discount on rooms for inconvenience.... also did get into the Ocean Tower.. they charged me a fee of 55 to get into the Ocean Tower.. on top of the rate I was already paying through booking.com.....
Review 96:The location was great
Review 97:Two downsides I saw was the elevators did take forever and one day one of them didn't even work and also WiFi was not good, I had to keep switching to my data because it was just too slow.
Review 98:My best friends and I stayed at the Eden this past weekend and despite them having construction it was a pretty good stay for us. When we checked in on Thursday afternoon Jessica was really helpful! She answered all our questions during check in, when we called from our room, and also when we were just walking by she was still very helpful. Although there was construction going on I loved that the hotel offered FREE drinks to us. Our room was really nice too. We had a room on the 12th floor with a ocean view, only thing I wished we has furniture on our balcony so that we could sit out there but it was still nice. We didn't get to enjoy the beach and pool like we wanted because of the rain majority of the day Saturday but the time we did have out there was still fun. Me personally I don't think the price we paid was that bad for all that we had and would definitely recommend this hotel. It is right next to the Fontainebleau so if we wanted to go it would have been no problem. Another plus we got he see and take a picture with Flavor Fav(lol) because he was performing at Club Liv at Fontainebleau.
Review 99:The whole place was under construction. As soon as you walked in, you saw construction left and right. On one of our nights, only 1 elevator was working. They gave us "free drink" coupons but the only alcohol we could get was bottom shelf. We were there for my husbands birthday with a big group of friends. On one of our days, we left the "Do not disturb" sign on our door so no one would clean our room (it was very messy) but we didn't mind the mess. They still came into our room and cleaned it and we had a few things missing. I was also excited for our balcony in our room but it had no furniture to sit on. I called and asked for some and they said they had none but when we looked at other people's balconies, they had hammocks and several chairs.
Review 100:The parking was worth $42 a night and the pool service was amazing.
Review 101:Parking $42 a night Breakfast $30 hot buffet $24 cold buffet We only found out about the major renovation when we arrived - 9the largest pool shut, no restaurant , no bar. The closure of the pool was in the small print - and certainly not when I booked
Review 102:Location was great
Review 103:I was not told about the $42+ fee for valet parking and the only other option was a $20 per day fee in another lot that wouldn't allow you to take your car out once you park unless you pay $20 to reenter. There was construction going on at the hotel that I was not told about it either.
Review 104:There were several issues, like the ac unit in our room had gone out, but I must say that the staff along with the manager on duty Josh, made sure all these issues were handled in a timely manner, the hotel is expanding so thing's like this can happen and when I brought the few issues to the attention of the staff, they handled all my needs in a professional and caring way, I would most certainly with out a doubt recommend this hotel!
Review 105:I loved the prompt and professional service, from all of the staff including the manager.
Review 106:The hotel is a construction zone with limited amenities and booking did not notify me of this state of affairs. First time using booking, have stayed at eden roc a number of times. Have no desire to engage with either again.
Review 107:The Reservations desk botched a routine confirmation call I made before my arrival and wound up reserving an additional room that I did not need then charging me for that room for one night. The matter was resolved after some back and forth on the phone with billing. A pain, but overall the only weak link.
Review 108:A beautiful hotel on a beautiful stretch of beach. Service from the bar, pool, and waitstaff as well as cleaning crew was outstanding. I would absolutely recommend.
Review 109:Was a little noisy at the reception as they are constructing a new restaurant, apart from that you heard no noise from the room.
Review 110:We loved the service we got from the front desk manager, the room was beautiful in the tower, the views were awesome, it was so comfortable and clean and presented warmly, more than we bargained for. Extremely happy and will go again for sure.
Review 111:Too much too list and wI'll be getting in contact with hotel management as soon as I'm done with this.
Review 112:We liked leaving. Even as we were getting in our cab to go home the bell boy was basically begging for money
Review 113:I have been staying in this hotel since the 80's and I will never set foot in this hotel again. Worse experience I've ever had. Wish there was a better way to see that they're renovating. I truly feel that I was ripped off. Horrible experience.
Review 114:Not one thing actually.
Review 115:I believe that breakfast should have been included. $38 for breakfast is a lot of money. Needless to say we only had breakfast once. Also there were only 2 working elevators in the tower I was staying at.
Review 116:The cleanliness
Review 117:Bad experience not notified about $450 hold on credit card. Should know about the kn website or when booking your travel. Not the day of at check in. Very bad.
Review 118:Resort and pool area
Review 119:We waited 2 hours to get some nachos in the restaurant The Cabana. The waitress let us know that we were not her "area" so she was just helping. People there do not work for their tips because they already include it in your ticket. Horrible service. horrible, horrible service but the food was good although I paid $20 for the nachos. Overpriced and overrated.
Review 120:The beds and rooms were great. the pools were clean and awesome to swim in. The boys out on the beach were friendly.
Review 121:When I reserved thru booking.com the cost was £137 approx for room only. This was the price I expected to pay. However when I checked in I wascharged an extra $21 for resort fees which was for use of gym, twobottles of water in our room and for their 'free' wi fi!!! Onceroom sales tax of $27.17 and any other taxes were incl the total costwas $259.90! Very disappointed and feel like we were exploited.
Review 122:Staff were super helpful and friendly and hotel was impressive althoughmega construction work ongoing noise is kept to a minimum.
Review 123:The only thing we did like was that the hotel is under construction... Nobody told us, there was a lot of noise. When you are on vacations, you don't want noise or inconveniences.... Thxs
Review 124:The staff is very nice and friendly!
Review 125:Crowded pool. Crowded beach. Fees for everything despite paying a resort fee. Lots of employees running around. Requested clean towels for our room (twice) and never got them. Lots of "beautiful people" running around behaving entitled
Review 126:good location. Great pool. Access to beach. Cozy bed. Excellent shower.
Review 127:At the pool the construction noise was shrill and incessant. Inside, the lobby was an unattractive construction site. We did get some compensation when we complained that we were never told in advance. Shame on you Bookings.com.
Review 128:Worse part of the trip was that we picked the wrong week to vacation.Had we known it was "urban week" we would have steered clearof the entire area. We chose to hang in our hotel room and beachmostlly so we were thankful we chose to stay at the Eden Roc ratherthan south miami.Room service food was AWFUL. Dont order in. We also waited 3 hours for someone to deliver a comforter (after calling 5 times).
Review 129:The best part of the stay was the beach staff... Those young men werealways so attentive, polite, and accomodating no matter how early wearrived to the beach in the morning. We had an awesome room with a greatbalcony with ocean view.
Review 130:Was under construction so it was very loud starting at 9am and we couldn't enjoy the balcony or pool bc we could just hear jackhammers. Also the balcony furniture had no cushions
Review 131:the room space and views of the ocean and pool were awesome, also super close to southbeach and easy to get a cab or uber
Review 132:Crowd was very rowdy while here. Thought it would be more relaxing. Also tons of construction which is understandable because you want to upgrade but hard to relax by pool with jackhammers all day.
Review 133:Good location next to Fontainbleau. Can walk to clubs.
Review 134:That the shower and bathtub area had a glass window to the bedroom and with a family with 2 kids it was very awkward. There was no privacy in the bathroom area at all.
Review 135:The balcony
Review 136:Limited dining options, construction in progress, pools in need of remodeling.
Review 137:Restaurant options are very limited. The one restaurant is dated and has overpriced Cuban food and slow service. We had to wait an hour for our food. The hotel is under construction (Nobu hotel and restaurant) therfore maintenance has taken the back seat. Our room was on the top floor and the balcony which was facing the construction site and the ocean was flooded witth rain water making it impossible to enjoy the ocean view without standing on dirty water. We requested housekeeping service, however this service never showed up.
Review 138:We arrived at the hotel from being on the road for 6 hours travelingfrom Georgia to find out it was some hidden fees at check in, also hotelhas bugs in patio furniture. Also showers were not clean had hair on thefloor. Just make sure they tell you the correct price before coming tohotel because our price went up $450 for a deposit that no one told meabout even when I called the hotel before we got there. That was a bigdisappointment.
Review 139:The pool and beach area
Review 140:They had construction going on so it wasn't the most peaceful out on the balcony. The housekeeping staff didn't come clean our room for the first day and the last day they didn't come until late in the day around 5:30. It was an inconvience because we didn't have fresh towels at the times we needed them.
Review 141:The beds were super comfortable and the stag was friendly. The breakfast was expensive but it was delicious. The views were amazing!
