Reviews for Likya Residence Hotel & Spa - Adults Only
Review 1:Inside communal spaces could do with a revamp. Path to beach club tricky underfoot.
Review 2:Beautiful location, lovely large room spotlessly clean. Breakfast very nice. Beach club good fun. Exceptional staff, extremely kind and polite, nothing too much trouble. Hotel restaurant was the best in town.
Review 3:Breakfast was the big letdown, no fresh orange juice, ham, poor cheese selection, poor bread selection, even still frozen one morning! No croissants or rolls, Fesh fruit covered with flies, needed to be covered and away from sun.
Review 4:Practically every thing!
Review 5:Bed Unclean room Poor quality shower door Wi Fi reception is really poor/non exiatent in the bedroom.
Review 6:Staff Breakfast Restaurant Location Pool Beach Club
Review 7:Although the hotel did not claim responsibility, several travellers developed abdominal upset whilst staying here.
Review 8:Very relaxing atmosphere. Good beach club.
Review 9:Immediate request for payment on arrival, late at night by very direct receptionist
Review 10:Staff exceptional Swimming pool wonderful and pristinely clean Food and service great Room great
Review 11:We had to come home after only two weeks
Review 12:They organised our transportation to and from the hotel, a gulet trip and everything went like clockwork. Their Turkish evening was one of the best events we have been to and excellent value for money. Oh yes and the restaurant’s food was inventive and delicious backed up great staff.
Review 13:Arriving in the early hours of the morning, we were disappointed with our room which was in a separate building next to the main hotel. It was sold as 'Retreat Suite' but was not a great room, up many steps and had a stagnant fresh water pool outside it. We could not get any wifi in the room and needed it as we were going to be working during our weeks holiday. We asked if we could move rooms and were shown a standard room and a higher spec room, which we opted for. We had to pay more money for it, but decided that it was worth the extra.
Review 14:After moving rooms, we had what was probably the best room in the hotel with a massive corner balcony and spacious room and bathroom. The breakfast was excellent and the staff very accommodating.
Review 15:dirt track and steps to beach club. We had a car but a lengthy walk to town
Review 16:comfy bed great views bar and pool lovely comfy sun beds tranquil beach club great too we will be back
Review 17:Wifi restricted availabily, not available in every room, only around the pool and restaurant pool.
Review 18:Loved the food, the scenery, the breathtaking view, the spa, best massage and Turkish bath ever. A quaint boutique hotel, excellent service. The F&B manager Mohamed was spot on always obliging and helpful. The staff in general too. The perfect place for relaxation, thank God no noisy kids
Review 19:Everything! Great place to chill, excellent food, beautiful views, easy walk to village and more superb restaurants, great friendly staff and the spa is excellent.
Review 20:Where it was, Was very dear.
Review 21:Not having to bring the kids was a lovely 4 days on our own. But the weather was good rained all the time and not a lot to do apart from the spa which was fully booked lol
Review 22:Reception staff could be more welcoming and friendly. Sometimes the level of service not consistent with all members of staff.
Review 23:Swimming pool area very peaceful and comfortable. Bedrooms good size with lovely view. Restaurant and bar staff friendly. Hotel feels very intimate.
Review 24:Not the hotel's fault but this was the final week of the season ad obviously the hotel was not full so lacked a little atmosphere in all areas. This would not prevent us returning again however. Spa facilities appeared somewhat superfluous to requirements and very underused- treatments are very expensive should you choose to use the facility
Review 25:The staff are attentive and very helpful in all respects. The Hotel Manager was delightful and she could not have been more welcoming or helpful. The restaurant was excellent when compared to all the other fine restaurants in Kalkan and Mohammet and his staff were consummate professionals. All in all a great hotel experience
Review 26:Noisy air conditioning in room Spa prices were too high (compared to similar hotels we stayed at) Bit of a hike to town . 10-15 minutes walk with little or no street lighting or 12 Lire taxi ride (+ tip)
Review 27:Good sized rooms + bathrooms Good breakfast Good views Nice staff
Review 28:The Road surfaces were very poor. The Hotel could make more of its layout, The reception area gives a modest 1st impression and should be improved
Review 29:The location was excellent with views of the Bay. Staff 1st class and the food quality was particularly good. Excellent chefs. This is a nicely run hotel
Review 30:Very little except having to leave.!
Review 31:Friendly and helpful service. Very good poolside food at lunchtime and outside restaurant in the evening with outstanding food, service and presentation at very similar cost to the restaurants in the town, 10 minutes walk away . Several different areas for sunbathing with lots of sunbeds and no crowding even when they are full as they were during our stay. The beach club ,10 minutes walk away. A short and easy walk form the town`s bars, restaurants, shops and boat trips.
Review 32:1.The hotel's location is one of the worse locations for Kalkan. Far from the town center and you have to take taxi for anywhere you go. You can stay at somewhere better at a better location, and pay half the price you would pay for this hotel. 2.Hotel's beach (one of the worse in town) is 15 mins walking distance...if you can manage to survive the so called "pathway" of course. That is a downhill, unpaved muddy path full of wild bushes. We couldn't even dare to walk in there... 3.The room that we booked (retreat room) looked absolutely different then how it looks on booking.com room pictures. It was small and smelled like mold. Apparently it was not ventilated properly before we arrive. The lights at the toilet was dead. We had to ask the management to change our room. Thankfully they did. And it was not great either. 4.At our last day at the hotel, we went down at 8am to have breakfast. This is when the breakfast service should start. However, a couple of hotel personel were still trying to bring the food for the buffet and yell others to wake up to help. That was a hillarious moment when I asked what happened and whether something went wrong to a staff member...the answer I got from him was exactly : "ah no, just that we hung out a bit last night (meaning partied or drank in turkish) hah"...unbelievable...
Review 33:1.Breakfast was OK, but did not worth the money we spent for the hotel. 2. The staff is helpful but again not woth it.
Review 34:A little expensive for drinks & food but that is to be expected I suppose. The spa was very pricey, on par with London but with a wide range of services available. Poolside service could be a little more attentive
Review 35:The rooms were perfect, couldn't ask for more, fantastic balcony, the bathroom was particularly spacious. The pool was great with stunning views ! Friendly and helpful staff , we would definitely like to return in the future !
Review 36:Nothing really.
Review 37:If you are looking for a quality relaxing (this does not mean boring) getaway on the turkish coast this is a perfect location, 5 min walk to the town centre with plentitude of restaurants, bars and shops. Highly recommended.
Review 38:Bad coffee Staff do not understand English very well The beach is not in the facility
Review 39:Location & gorgeous view Great food Spacious room Friendly staff Great Spa
Review 40:Nothing really. Perhaps some information in the room about the local amenities or hotel events.
Review 41:The whole setting was really excellent. Easy 5 minute walk to Kalkan. Hotel pools were ideal no need to go to beach club. Room fabulous. Hotel food was excellent. The view from the breakfast area was perfect. Staff lovely.
Review 42:Nothing.
Review 43:This was my first visit to Turkey and we were so lucky to find this excellent hotel. We wanted to just chill out and relax and we did just that. The hotel facilities are excellent but the crowing glory is the staff. Everything was done with a quiet efficiency making sure that your precious holiday time was optimised. The food is excellent quality and presented beautifully. The location of the hotel is also stunning overlooking the Kalkan bay. It is a short walk to the town where there are plenty of restaurants and shops to keep you entertained should you wish to venture out. We went with objective of having a chilled out and relaxing holiday. Mission accomplished.
Review 44:Nothing it was awesome.
Review 45:Cannot praise this hotel and staff enough - it has been an absolute dream and we will definitely stay again.
Review 46:Spar extra cost price of drinks
Review 47:Locationspar
Review 48:breakfast was odd very little interesting hot food.
Review 49:adult only town of Kalkan friendly staff very relaxing few guests
Review 50:To expensive
Review 51:nothing - all good
Review 52:We got what we paid for - exclusive, good quality, excellent service
Review 53:Very friendly staff and a great location
Review 54:All round enjoyable stay, rooms, staff, food and prices were excellent. First visit but would return anytime.
Review 55:It wasn't a problem to us but some people might find the location a bit difficult to walk to and from the town
Review 56:Food and service excellent
Review 57:Too many staff being intrusive and fussyi
Review 58:The room was vg.
Review 59:leaving
Review 60:rooms, pool area, peaceful, friendly staff, views, breakfast offer, no children, no proactive selling.
Review 61:The breakfast was a bit disappointing
Review 62:The view was just fabulous with a lovely spacious room
Review 63:The staff, the relaxed atmosphere and beautiful surroundings
Review 64:Paying for every bottle of water in rooms. Every hotel I've ever stayed in always leave two complimentary bottles in room every day.
Review 65:Wonderful views
Review 66:Nothing negative.
Review 67:We loved our spacious room and the amazing views from our balcony. It was the perfect place to relax after being out during the day. The bed was extremely comfortable. The food in the restaurant was prepared to a high standard and reasonably priced considering the quality. The waiters were very friendly and accomodating, making every guest feel special. We loved Kalkan and hope to return.
Review 68:The food at the a la carte restaurant was worthy of a Michelin star but without the price tag. Nothing was ever too much for the staff either. It was an incredible hotel and all round experience!
Review 69:Some rooms, and balconies, can be disappointingly small - depending on just where the hotel happen to put you, on arrival. Bathrooms are probably ready for an update - although they are still in pretty good condition.
Review 70:The staff and facilities are extremely good at the Likya, and the location is excellent. We never had any problems, at all, getting beds by any of the pools, and the complimentary pool towels (new one each day, of course) are very high quality. Many rooms are very spacious. Whilst hotel bar and restaurant prices are very high, they are not much different to other hotels in the area - and there are literally dozens, and dozens, of very high quality restaurants, and bars, in Kalkan. The Spa at the Likya is first rate, and has a huge range of (expensive) treatments available to the visitor. Breakfasts tend to be semi-Turkish in nature, but there is a comprehensive array of fruit, cheeses, cooked meats, bread, yogurts, etc., plus omelettes and crepes made-to-order. Our stay at the Likya was lovely, and we are looking to book, again, at this impressive hotel, next year.
Review 71:Reception is probably due a makeover, looking a little dingy compared to the other areas.
Review 72:Lovely location but it is Mohammed and his staff that make this place, their attentiveness is simply second to none. Turkish Bath exceptional!
Review 73:This is a wonderful hotel and the staff really make the experience. You have to try the a la carte restaurant which is by far the best in Kalkan! Loved every minute of our week here, thank you Likya.
Review 74:Although the breakfasts were good, a greater variety would go down well.
Review 75:The staff were friendly and efficient, the restaurant service was excellent. Food was very good. Views from the Hotel are stunning. The Hotel is situated in a quiet location and only 10 minutes walk to Kalkan and an abundance of very good restaurants. Any requests were dealt with straightaway and with no hassle. For instance we wanted to change our room for a room in the main Hotel, no problem, the switch was made with no extra cost. Highly recommended.
Review 76:There is nothing we could fault at all.
Review 77:Everything was what we expected. The staff were so attentive and friendly. The facilities are second to none. The food in the restaurant was the best in Kalkan and we have eaten at a lot of places. This stay for us was heaven. Will definitely be back.
Review 78:Nothing to comment in this regard.
Review 79:Excellent Pool and free use of beach club facilities. Received an upgrade on our room, so we had a wonderful view down into Kalkan town/harbour.
Review 80:A little more life around the bar between 6-8 would have been nice. Maybe a happy hour and some better music to create a good vibe, maybe a little Michael Buble, etc, so easy listening, but a buzz too.
Review 81:Everything about the hotel design and facilities were superb. Breakfasts were excellent and the other couple of meals were good too. Staff were friendly and helpful. Hotel was quiet and peaceful with stunning views. Very relaxing and luxurious. Rooms were spacious, airey and very well equiped.
Review 82:Service sometime slightly haphazard. Hotel felt slightly dated and tired could do with a general spruce up.
Review 83:Great location, excellent sea views. Large room with private balcony, access to Yala Beach club. Good breakfast selection.
Review 84:You have to climb a very steep hill to reach the hotel from the shore. But the swimming pools are nice anyway so you wouldn't have to go to the sea everyday.
Review 85:Very friendly and polite staff. Great location and excellent sea view. Spacious room, big balcony with an amazing view of Kalkan and the sea, two showers in the bathroom (No.206). Good breakfast. Overall, a very nicely designed hotel.
Review 86:The hotel was pure luxury from start to finish, the rooms were big and spacious with an amazing balcony with the most awesome panaramic sea views. The staff were wonderful the maitre d's were so helpful the lady helped us organise a trip. All the staff made you feel so special. I have travelled to many hotels throughout the world from budget to luxury and I can see this was one of the nicest I have ever stayed in. Very rarely do I go back to the same place twice, as i always like to try different hotels but for sun, pampering, pure rest, relaxation and luxury I will definitely be returning. Wonderful x
Review 87:nothing....only the wind was a nuisance which wasn't their fault!
Review 88:An outstanding hotel in an excellent location. Whilst located outside the centre of Kalkan, in a quiet situation, it was easily walkable in about 20 minutes. Staff, rooms, location, food and overall experience all outstanding.
Review 89:Hotel faces southeast so if you want to sunbathe, have to wake up early or get an end room to sunbathe on your terrace. A bit away from the center of town but we had a car so it wasn't a big deal.
Review 90:Tons of British people - I think we were a novelty to many of the workers in town because we are American. Very nice hotel, though the beds were on the stiff side. Less luxurious than our hotel in Istanbul but not a fair comparison because it was dramatically cheaper. Would go back.
Review 91:Bedroom didn't have any rugs, bed was very hard and balcony had no privacy - open to 5/6 other balconies alongside ones own. Would not return to this hotel.
Review 92:Excellent breakfast and staff in restaurant excellent too.
Review 93:One of best hotels we've stayed in - great service and facilities, wonderful food (fine dining standards); lovely pools and spa; great staff only too willing to help; quiet and peaceful; mainly English guests
Review 94:The room was away from the main building, accessible by uneven steps. The shower had a terrible smell of bad drains.the paint on the window frame was all over the glass and floor very shoddy.i would never stay in the retreat again.
Review 95:The staff very polite and friendly.the food excellent quality and presentation. The service in the restaurant excellent. Beautiful spa.fantastic food and beverages manager. Horrible manageress who was incapable of solving problems,or couldn't be bothered.
Review 96:Would have liked more evening entertainment. Only one night duringthe week on our stay. Did not see any gullet boat or informationregarding this
Review 97:Friendly, courteous staff, excellent buffet breakfast, luxuryaccomodation
Review 98:Overwhelmily English, but that seems to be all of Kalkan. I think my husband and I were the only Americans in the whole town. As a pure spa vacation you can't beat likya, but if you are looking for an Anatolian experience you will need to venture out of Kalkan.
Review 99:Everyone working at the hotel were super friendly and willing to please. The location with in Kalkan is very good, right on the water, but facing east so you loose late afternoon sun if not staying on the few end rooms facing the water. The food was the best part, on par with the views. We ate there almost every night. Kudos to the chef!
Review 100:Most staff were good but one member of reception was not as friendly orhelpful as might be expected.
Review 101:Good location and lovely facilities. Rooms exactly as described. Easywalk into Kalkan.
Review 102:Bed was hard not comfy Prices of spa treatments were too expensive Poolwas hard to get into -boulders everywhere & rough concrete before ureached steps Food was nice but overpriced & plates used for servingwe're quite pretentious Rooms were not finished to 4 star standardin my opinion this hotel is missing luxury feel of 4 star hotel
Review 103:Staff were helpful
Review 104:I was VERY disappointed that the Yali Beach Club was closed! My boyfriend and I chose this hotel because of this added luxury. On arrival we were told it was closed for maintenance, we investigated and it was indeed closed and still being re-furbished. We feel this holiday has been un-fairly sold to us!!!! No upgrade or re-imbursement was offered by the hotel!
Review 105:I liked that the hotel was child free. The breakfast buffet was awesome and the staff were very helpful.
Review 106:The walk way to the beach areas need to be made better but not a main issue for younger people.
Review 107:enjoyed the hotel, staff and resort very much A1
Review 108:It was all good.
Review 109:the views, the service, great location, had a great time, we will return.
Review 110:No dislikes
Review 111:overall peace, calm, and attention to detail from staff
Review 112:The helpfullness of the staff. The position with wonderful views over Kalkan bay. Our room and balcony
Review 113:Nothing
Review 114:Very relaxing and peaceful Staff very helpful Brilliant breakfast and excellent food Luxurious room Great pools
Review 115:not quite lively enough
Review 116:situation and staff
Review 117:Very friendly and helpful staff. The food was very good and we loved the location. It was close to the town and the sea.
Review 118:nothing

Review 121:Excellent views, attentive staff, superb food and large rooms.
