Reviews for Pacific Euro Hotel
Review 1:Old,
Review 2:It's actually a quite an old hostel, renovation was in progress during my stay. Friendly staff but the venue has very little to offer: old bed plus sink and quite clean shared shower/wc. Very expensive like everything these days in SV, close to the downtown Redwood. Parking is not free after 6am and cost somewhat 6-10$
Review 3:Unknown parking when I registered to stay there. Did not know the hotel was under renovation. The taxes made the hotel quite expensive. I am not living in the bay area and though I appreciate the downtown location, I was also overwhelmed by the amount of people and cars.
Review 4:The young woman who checked us in was thoughtful and helpful.
Review 5:They are in process of renovating as of today (December 2015) so expect to see workers and all their stuff everywhere (lobby, stairs, etc.) No hotel parking. The nearest parking lot offers free parking during the night (6PM to 9AM or something) but it can be tricky to find a place if you arrive early.
Review 6:Good value for this price, it's a $60 per day room with shared bathroom and the room is totally ok for this money. The bathroom, while indeed shared, was clean enough and I never needed to wait in line. The room was clean enough.
Review 7:The hotel falls down in some very basic ways. 1. The lights: They will switch off automatically whether you're in the room or not. It's really annoying that you can't have light in the room for longer than 15 minutes before it goes dark and you have to get up to switch them back on. There is a small lamp above the desk that uses a switch so it doesn't switch off but it doesn't produce enough light. 2. The temperature has dropped significantly in the last week, the rooms have been absolutely freezing! I've had to request extra blankets and have extra layers of clothes on in the room. The rooms have a ceiling fan, not so useful when the weather's cold. Turn up the heating!! In short, this hotel could be improved significantly if they weren't apparently so terrified of their utility bills.
Review 8:The staff are really excellent, very nice people. Rooms are clean Shared bathrooms have always been very clean Good location, close to restaurants and my place of work
Review 9:My room was right across two shared bathrooms and it was a little smelly (like sewer smell) walking down the hallway. Nothing major as the room didn't smell and that is where it's important
Review 10:I was impressed with the location. Short walking distance to good bars and restaurants.
Review 11:sometimes you can hear what's going on the neighboring rooms .. little embarrassing if you get a room beside a shared bathroom
Review 12:maid service and friendly staff and location
Review 13:The constant noise of the A/C if your room is not far from the A/C unit; the impossibility to regulate freely the temperature of the room
Review 14:Central location, value for money in Redwood City, helpful and friendly staff
Review 15:There should be more shared restrooms on the floor, I had to wait for a while
Review 16:Good location, pretty close to San Jose and SF Airport. Parking after 10 pm is easy, but you should leave after 10 am unless you want to pay (city parking lot), close location to highway.
Review 17:Early morning noise like a cart rolling down hallway . Like train tracks . My head is by the door too.
Review 18:Small but comforting. All in one room except for bathroom & shower. Still it was homey.
Review 19:Everything was ok. Only, if you go by car then there is no free parking. However, the parking lot near by is free during the night (from some time in pm to 10 am)
Review 20:The hotel room was cozy and clean, also included refrigerator and microwave. It was convenient stay before going to San Francisco airport.
Review 21:The public areas could use a little sprucing up, but considering the rice, it was a very good deal.
Review 22:Location was great, and the room was very small but pleasant and clean. I felt like I was in a ship's berth. The hotel was also very near some great coffee shops and restaurants.
Review 23:You get what you pay for and in the San Francisco Bay Area this qualifies as cheap. Nothing special but it had everything you need. Be honest, how much time do you actually spend in a hotel room.
Review 24:Only one complaint and that is shared bathrooms. They were very clean but it is somewhat inconvenient not having a bathroom in the room.
Review 25:very clean well kept facilities as well as nice staff.
Review 26:Walls very thin, never found a shower (none en suite, only a nearby WC and basin in the room. A little pricey, considering.
Review 27:Interesting character to the appointments, staff were very congenial, only steps away from the selected nightlife.
Review 28:The room was smallish, and there was no bathroom in the room. But it was as advertised.
Review 29:I enjoyed the hotel and it's location in downtown Redwood City. I was attending a conference at Stanford all week and it was nice to come back to this every evening. Some good dining options in the town. The value for the price couldn't be beat.
Review 30:The one real problem was that there was street light coming in through my window, and the blinds weren't strong enough to keep it out. It's hard for me to sleep that way and I was more tired the next day.
Review 31:It was just what I needed: a nice, clean, inexpensive, no-drama place to stay in a nice area close to the CalTrain. They can offer great value because their clean, comfortable rooms are a bit smaller, still with enough space for a full-size bed, dresser, desk, flat-screen TV with cable, and some floor space. I saved even more money by getting a room without its own bath. Poor me, I had to use the clean single-user bathrooms within 4 or 5 doors of me in either direction. CalTrain and tons of shopping are a few sunny blocks away. If I'm traveling alone, this is where I will stay the next time that I stay in Redwood City.
Review 32:Great location. Very clean. Appreciate having sink and refrigerator in the room. Free WiFi is also important. Having a murphy bed that folded up allowed my space to do yoga!
Review 33:VERY loud, tiny rooms, just a step above hostel at above hotel prices. If you don't mind a short five minute drive, then you're much better off staying somewhere else.
Review 34:Location is superb
Review 35:Not a bad experience, but shower curtain a bit short causing water to pool up outside .
Review 36:Like I said location everything close by would stay there again.
Review 37:Maybe not the best value for your buck, it would be nice if rates were slightly lower. WiFi was free, however it did not have the best connection (at least on the first floor). Hopefully they fix it soon.
Review 38:Staff was very friendly, hotel was clean, location was perfect. Easy access to food, entertainment, and transportation. No major complaints. :)
Review 39:Unfortunately, the floor in the room was sticky in several places.
Review 40:I really enjoyed the attention and attitude of staff, always smiling and ready to help. Also rooms have all the facilities needed for a traveler.
Review 41:n/a Nothing specific to call out. Everything was as promised on line when I booked the room.
Review 42:Staff was good, room tiny with shared bathrooms in the hallway. There was sink in the room. All was very clean. Parking right around the corner and free after 6 pm.Since it was business trip and I worked all day in office, I did not need much . Just a clean and comfy bed to sleep in.
Review 43:Small rooms, not enough closest space for clothes/dress pants and suits.
Review 44:Wifi,laundry service, train near by,a lot of all type store/ mini mall near by.
Review 45:no breakfast public parking (might be tricky to part on Friday/Sat evening). It is free from 6pm till 10am.
Review 46:nice location safe neighborhood good price cleanliness free WiFi (quality is reasonable, although has a bit of problem with keeping Skype connection).
Review 47:The window facing the alley, truck waking us at 4am for over an hour.
Review 48:It was great except our window faced the alley and a garbage truck (or some sort of large loud truck) came through at 4am and did not leave or turn off the engine for over an hour. Other than that it was great! Clean & comfy, no issues sharing the bathroom it was always available. Very friendly helpful staff.
Review 49:Thin walls allowed you to hear the neighbours tv, snoring, or showers.
Review 50:Value of the place was good. Small rooms just enough to stay in and get out to visit the city. Close to the CalTrain.
Review 51:The parking was a little tough - I arrived late on a Friday night which could have had something to do with my specific situation however. The lot is a shared lot and since the hotel is in the heart of all the great restaurants the lot was very full. Also, I had the window open to let some cool air in overnight and it was loud but again - Friday night above all the restaurants, to be expected. The positives definitly outweigh the negatives though! I'd go back and definitly recommend.
Review 52:I booked this hotel with the intention of an average place in a convenient location along Rt.101 but it exceeded my expectations! Redwood City was a great place - upbeat, safe and quite enjoyable! There are so many restaurants, bars, entertainment locations...it's a travellers dream. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the location itself was directly across from a delicioius restaurant with one of the best coctail menus I've ever seen! Had a great stay!
Review 53:The room had no bathroom (just a sink), and we had to use shared bathrooms - there are about 4 bathrooms spread around the hallway: toilet, shower, male toilet & shower, female toilet & shower. Not a big deal, as they are well maintained, just somewhat inconvenient. But hey, that's why the price is low :) Also the room got a bit hot in daytime (no air con, just a weak ceiling fan), but bearable.
Review 54:Great location and price, nice and clean room with all the appliances we needed. Friendly and helpful staff.
Review 55:No parking when I got there. Had to circle round and round. Also shower didn't work. Water came out in a trickle. Also took several minutes for water to warm up.
Review 56:Room was very clean and nicely updated.
Review 57:BED BUGS!!!! I was bitten multiple times both nights and i didn't realize what it was until the morning of checkout.

Review 80:It was so hot in the room we had to leave it felt like a sauna

Review 122:- expensive - no breakfast included
Review 123:+ very nice room + nice staff
Review 124:the room is small, free parking is limited.
Review 125:very good location, friendly staff, near to the Standford, big market within walking distance.
Review 126:No hotel parking but free overnight parking close by
Review 127:Location Small room but comfortable for two
Review 128:Noisy
Review 129:Location
Review 130:The room was a bit small. The window could not be opened, and the AC could not be adjusted.
Review 131:An inexpensive option if you want to visit Stanford University or the Palo Alto area. Very close to the Caltrain station so you can get to Stanford in 15 minutes. The staff were excellent, and gave wonderful service, perhaps the best that we got in the USA.
Review 132:The guy snoring in the next room sounded like a freight train.
Review 133:This is a funky little place, like a hostel. It has a great location near restaurants and shopping. It was clean and comfortable and a great value for your $.
Review 134:It was a bit noisy because it's right on Main Street. There's no air conditioning but luckily it was relatively cool during our visit. Wi-Fi was a tad slow.
Review 135:Great value if you don't mind the European style: tiny rooms, shared bathrooms (but very clean), no A/C, no elevator that I could see (there might have been one somewhere, but didn't bother to ask). A short walk to the Caltrain station and a 30-45 train ride to San Francisco. All for probably half to a third of the price of a comparably clean hotel in SF. Parking in the adjacent city lot is just 25 cents per hour from 10-6pm and free other times (you can park overnight). I arrived at 10pm and there was plenty of parking.
