Reviews for Sailport Waterfront Suites

Review 1:well we had been a little bit desappointed because there is no direct access to the sea. it's really a pity. the photos on your site are tricky.

Review 2:your staff is welcoming . it 's quiet and clean

Review 3:Kind of old. Converted apartments to hotel rooms. Bedrooms are small.

Review 4:Courteous staff. Shuttle to local restaurants. Full kitchen, which was really not used. Good walking trail close by.

Review 5:the property isnt really near anything, the furnishing like the couch etc are very out of date, the staff is a bit disorganized

Review 6:It was very pretty outdoors

Review 7:Pull out couch poor mattreess. Kitchen had no basic supplies. Dish detergent, salt, pepper, cutting knives etc...

Review 8:Room was good size. Quiet with a great view of the bay. Privacy of the bedrooms was nice. Modern tv's kitchen appliances. Convenience of local restaurants

Review 9:Our flight was cancelled and we booked this from a list of hotels. We had extra time and the pleasant and friendly ladies at the front desk, Annemarie, Chelsea and Emily, who was being trained, were very helpful with giving us suggestions and directions on where to spend our afternoon and where to eat.

Review 10:Late checkout of one hour was denied. The location of the hotel is close to the sea but not convenient to grocery store and small chain restaurants.

Review 11:I loved the view from the hotel room. The bed was comfortable. The suite waa nice and spacious.

Review 12:We were in Tampa for the Outback Bowl. Sailport was just a few minutes drive from anywhere we were going. The view from our suite was beautiful! We loved sitting out on the deck. Having a kitchen was great for any meals we didn't want to eat out. Everything was clean and updated. The staff was very nice and accommodating. Would definitely stay again!

Review 13:The fact our stay was to short!

Review 14:The view was wonderful! I love the fact it had all the amenities I would need for a longer stay! I loved how friendly the staff was and the cleanliness

Review 15:Shuttle service- jeff the driver was very short and rude Driving was terrible and drove too fast

Review 16:Beautiful property Staff was very nice Room was clean View was amazing Price was reasonable

Review 17:Loved the layout of the suite. Bed comfortable. Shuttle service to / from airport plus other places in area you would like to ho. Each room faces the water. Firepit on beach to hang around at night.

Review 18:Couches and chairs not extremely comfortable. Overall a great experience.

Review 19:Location and shuttle service to restaurants was an awesome extra. Staff was very helpful and pleasant.

Review 20:The way the hotel is built obstructs the view unless you have a corner room. You could hear everything the people upstairs are doing, and the people on either side. There was also a lot of construction going on that I was not informed about prior to booking and arriving.

Review 21:I liked the location and the fact that places deliver.

Review 22:Elevator was slow. We walked the stairs much faster.

Review 23:The location and grounds were beautiful! It was more like a condo than a room. I could have stayed for a week or more!

Review 24:No bedding for pull out couch. Had to go to the front desk everyday! Told us they ran out of blankets. Had to call three times for more soap, towels toilet paper. When they finally came to clean the room (four days later) they forgot the entire master suite!! No linens were changed on any of the beds. Service was horrendous!

Review 25:Location

Review 26:The kitchen needs skillet, dish towels and soap. Coffee filters, trash bags, more soap and toilet paper in bathroom (we had to buy ours). Larger bath towels.

Review 27:Would have liked some sort of restaurant/bar on site.

Review 28:The location is great. Very nice kitchen set up. Some of the views are wonderful. We had a large group (10 rooms) staying at the property and the hotel did their best to keep us close together.

Review 29:Linens, pillows , and toiletries were horrible. Paid twice what my friend paid view was nice looking straight ahead but to left was parking lot and dumpster. Dumpster was mechanically emptied before sunrise. VERY loud.

Review 30:Shuttle was great!!

Review 31:Rooms were not clean. Carpet had ugly stains. Rooms are not cleaned each day unless requested. Clean sheets and fresh towels available upon request only. Front desk staff checking me in answered the phone 4 times and handled the calls while I waited. No noise control in the long hallways.

Review 32:No water access. Very disappointing. Small man made sand beach area. Pool area was under construction, kind of a mess. People were smoking everywhere. Cigarette butts being throw over balconies. The people above us were smoking on the balcony so much, we couldn't enjoy our balcony!

Review 33:The view was beautiful. The room was adequate. The hotel desk clerks were very nice and helpful.

Review 34:Furniture by water and sand falling apart, dry rotted. Not enough grills. Security staff not pleasant, they treated me and my kids which are teenagers like we write going to break something. Wouldn't let them use except is equipment they ate 16 and 15. No maid service daily. If I wanted towels I had to go get them myself.

Review 35:The beds and view.

Review 36:Our room had a beautiful view. We didn't sit on the beach or enjoy the fire pit. We were very happy just sitting our balcony enjoying the view. There is a pool which we didn't go to. The beach does not extend to the water but we don't go in the water. The room was clean and the furniture was updated. The room was quiet and the living room couch turned into a large bed. The kitchen was also updated as were the TVs. We ordered in both nights as we didn't want to leave our suite. It was so nice being in it.

Review 37:Hotel was a bit dated and the bedding was torn on one of the beds. Room was a bit smaller than I imagined and online pictures made it look better than actually was

Review 38:Staff was great and the location was fantastic!!

Review 39:Floors in the unit were very dirty. Feet got black after walking barefoot. Refrigerator leaked water all over the kitchen floor. Bedroom was a bit small.

Review 40:View from the room was wonderful. Pool was great as was the beach area. Units were well appointed.

Review 41:Very spacious suite with separate living/sleeping areas. Gorgeous water view of Tampa bay from the balcony. Kitchen was fully fitted with cooker, fridge, microwave etc. Staff very pleasant.

Review 42:Check in is extremely slow, the facility is surrounded by offices and parking garages, and most of the restaurant options are not easily walkable due to traffic and the the roads rather than distance. And there is no breakfast served - you can buy some stuff from their little lobby store, otherwise bring your own. Not well suited to the business traveler.

Review 43:It's close to the airport, it is on the water, there are a few restaurants nearby, and there is a free shuttle service to the restaurants and the airport. The room was huge and it has a full kitchen and a small balcony. It is close to the Rusty Pelican restaurant, which was excellent.

Review 44:This was not the luxury hotel it was billed to be. It is individually owned timeshare condos, and it was outdated and devoid of redeeming character. The foldout couch only had one fitted sheet, no top sheet, and only one fleece blanket. That's not enough bedding. The single bedroom had adequate bedding. The bathroom shower leaked, and the fixtures need replacement - they are not very high quality. The staff through was friendly and efficient.

Review 45:Um, nothing.

Review 46:The room we had had a bed in the living room area no couch.

Review 47:The hotel being on the water is great. The location is near what shopping, airport and restaurants.

Review 48:Some parents brought loud kids out to the play area late at night. Not deal breaker though, at this price point the people that can afford it aren't always socially adept.

Review 49:Nice view, great staff, good laundromat. Definitely a great value. The kitchen was useful too.

Review 50:I didn"t like that the resort did not except gour your rates we made 3 day plans for and chArged us a great deal more

Review 51:The rest of the staff were very nice and accomidating

Review 52:If you're in a party of five, two groups of two will sleep greatly in their beds. But the fifth one must better not be big, their extra bed is a bit rusty for a heavy one.

Review 53:It was pretty comfortable and the guys at front-desk were pretty kind and helpful!

Review 54:The front desk agents had neutral attitude, they could be a little more welcoming and friendlier. The front desk manager was the only one with a smiling attitude and was engaging. The room needs a little update with carpet and sofa change. Sofa mattress had lots of stains which was a bit embarrassing for us to have our visitors sleep on it.

Review 55:We were glad to have the sandy area and the fishing pier, which gave us the opportunity to be outside most of the time and have our fun time. The pool is extremely clean and is a perfect size. Plenty of parking and they allow visitor parking/additional car at no extra cost.

Review 56:Largest beetle I ever saw in the bedroom. Told staff the next day and they offered to change our room. Matress was hard.

Review 57:Balcony with nice view. Check-in and check-out super easy. Staff friendly.

Review 58:House keeping every fourth day isn't great had to ask front desk for 2 extra towel has house keeper wouldn't give? And they didn't even clean kitchen or give paper towel, left empty roll on counter? Didn't know about breakfast?

Review 59:Location is great. Clean, staff working outside area super friendly.

Review 60:It started out with me thinking I was going to have complications but it ended up beautiful. The issue between the staff and I was handled before I got there. I have to apologize myself as well. I apologize to Nick as well. But thanks Sailport for everything.

Review 61:Had security knock on the door at 6:30pm we were laughing playing a kids game and were told to keep it down because my kids that are 18 16 14 were laughing to loud and it can bother other people on bright daylight and got a different room then the one i got online

Review 62:The view is amazing

Review 63:It would have been a 10 if there were convenience stores and restaurants in walking distance. There is however a free shuttle from the hotel to local restaurants and a small convenience store in the lobby.

Review 64:I really liked the set up of the room, with a separate bedroom, kitchen and living room. Every room has a balcony and our view was great.

Review 65:The only drawback was nothing in walking distance, such as store or restaurants. There is a free shuttle to the local restaurants which was wonderful.

Review 66:I loved that it was basically a mini apartment. Plenty of room with a kitchen, living room and balcony. Had a wonderful view.

Review 67:Nothing

Review 68:Everything! The hotel has a warm and friendly feel. In town for the New York Giants game. Took us 9 minutes to get there! Great Area! Beautiful view of the Gulf!

Review 69:There is no lobby, the outside is dated, hallways are dated, but rooms are good

Review 70:We got the suite and it was great. New room great views. Worth the money, good location

Review 71:The small size of the pool towels

Review 72:Location was great, the friendly and obliging welcome and help we got despite our 1.30AM arrival was amazing, our room was clean, quiet and comfortable, view from window and balcony pleasant (although not quite as an expansive a Bay View that we had hoped for) We would stay again

Review 73:Our first room had a broken deadbolt as well as a broken air conditioner. The room we were moved to had a mildewy smell – probably the carpet because it had not yet been renovated. I was not impressed with the cleanliness because I could tell the shower curtain have not been washed. It was white linen, and I could see what looked like hard, green snot with hair in it stuck to the shower curtain. I could feel that the bottom of the tub had not been washed. That was pretty gross, and it ruined my experience. There was also a make-up smeared on the comforter, and it wasn't mine as well as someone's hair wrapped up in a "fresh" towel. This was also suggested as a family friendly hotel, but it seemed there were quite a few people drinking heavily as they were all purchasing bottles of wine and cases of beer from the office where everyone else was checking in. It was very loud even at 11 o'clock and midnight. There were not enough employees there to check people in in a timely manner while also catering to the people coming to buy items from their little store. Most of the time, I noticed there was only one person at the counter, and at the best, there were two for a very brief time.

Review 74:They are doing renovations, and the rooms that are updated are very nice.

Review 75:Only complaint is that I booked my room for a late check out and they wouldn't allow me to stay and threanted to charge me per hour I stayed

Review 76:Staff was very friendly

Review 77:No fault of the staff or the great facility but The City of Tampa needs to clean the bay. Brackish water is kind sewer is closer to the truth.

Review 78:Privacy! No interfering daily cleaning staff definitely a plus.

Review 79:The two bedroom were actually one bedroom and a bed in the livingroom area, no door, and kitchen next to it, actually a one bedroom with a bed in the space of the livingroom. Cleanliness was okay, but it did not smell fresh. Did not like the fact that the front desk called at 11;00pm stating that the alarm had gone off, yet no sound, kind of an insult to ones' intelligence, additionally , instead of asking to see the room upon departure they pulled the same alarm trick.

Review 80:The view is excellent, the staff very nice, except for the trickery of the Silent Alarms. Comfortable bed.

Review 81:They don't clean your room or change your towels if you stay less than four days. Mattress and pillows are uncomfy. But definitely would stay at clearwater or other beaches if I ever come again.

Review 82:Comparatively good location and good view, got its own tiny beach.

Review 83:Did not like Construction going on to build a bar at the pool; Very Disruptive.

Review 84:Convenient location on the water; our Daughter lives in Tampa; went to Clearwater beach a couple times. Restaurants nearby.

Review 85:The bed was the only thing we didn't like. They need a new bed. Very uncomfortable.

Review 86:It was one of the best resorts we have ever stayed at. We loved it except for one thing. The bed was very uncomfortable for us. I think the owners need to get a new one. But other than that it was perfect and we will be back for another stay in February. Jerry at the front desk was so nice and accommodating. Thank you for a wonderful stay. Sincerely, judy holse

Review 87:The facilities were outdated. The couch was uncomfortable and the futon bed in the couch was extremely uncomfortable.

Review 88:The location was solid. Close to a lot of fun things to do. I suggest taking a sea-do out at Hogan's Beach and eating at the Rusty Pelican. Both within walking distance.

Review 89:Had cheap decor, shampoo bottle was empty, not enough kitchen supplies. Not adequate seating for a family.

Review 90:Liked the beach and the staff member who checked us in was outstanding.

Review 91:I asked for a late check out on Booking and upon check in as I was arriving at 230 am but was told by the clerk there wasn't any late check outs. During our stay, I spoke with two other couples who both had late checkouts and while I was in line to check out I heard the clerk tell the cleaning staff that "room xyz had a late checkout but left early." No jacuzzi. Pool was cold. They also didn't honor my AAA discount. Oh, the fridges compressor periodically made a very loud whining noise. Room 422.

Review 92:Location. Comfortable bed.

Review 93:Location was a little away from stores but definitely worth the driving. Staff was excellent. Room was excellent. Everything was excellent. Definitely coming back and will recommend to all out friends and family!

Review 94:Some dishwashing liquid and a roll of paper towels would have been nice.

Review 95:Large size, private balcony, bay view, quietness, bedroom separate from the living room. Full kitchen. Room 354 was a corner unit and handy to the stairs.

Review 96:General area overlooked by offices. $30 credit card hold charge for incidentals that takes 7 days to be refunded.

Review 97:Staff were fab! Great free shuttle to local restaurants.

Review 98:Although the suite was very spacious, the decor was drab. First night of our stay there were people partying most of the night. I finally had to call the front desk at 330 to complain. We probably will not stay here again.

Review 99:Price was good for size.

Review 100:I like the fact there was a private balcony to sit out at night, over looking the bay, the property was very well maintained, had security in parking area, had shutter service that would take you to local restaurants, shopping (small fee) plenty of area to "roam" overall, we would go back for another stay

Review 101:Thought the place was clean to the eye, walking barefoot through the apartment for just 2 minutes and my feet were very dirty.

Review 102:The staff were amazing, so helpful and nice. They went out of their way to help me with everything. The apartment had lots of space, good cable, great wifi, and a huge fridge.

Review 103:Cleaning was just once in like 3 days. There is not much to buy from the store in the hotel. You are better of buying your groceries from nearest Walmart about 10 mins drive if you plan on cooking in.

Review 104:It was a lovely place. Loved the pool and the kitchen was well stocked. The view of the bay was beautiful.

Review 105:Kayla was rude when I checked in. I had to get her attention and then she said she was checking in some else I in which I didn't see. I seen the attendant next to her check someone in and he explained everything. She was vague and didn't explain much. She had a very poor attitude in which I did not feel welcomed. I was also given a hard time when requesting bath tissue. I could only get one roll. I was on a trip of four females and the roll was not that big.

Review 106:Love that we were by the water. The view of the bay was nice.

Review 107:I didn't like that the suite wasnt cleaned during my stay because of the every three day policy. That's got to go.

Review 108:I loved the view of the bay which was accentuated by the balcony. I also enjoyed the full kitchen and cable TV

Review 109:looking over water was great...suite was comfortable but a little worn...close to airport which worked well coming into town very late...nice pool, and outdoor workout area, nice to walk onto pier, didnt use "beach" area but it looked nice, and didnt use volleyball either...convenience items were a little pricey..nice baconies..too would stay here again.

Review 110:There was no kettle. The toaster was only for 2 slices but apartment slept 6. The air con was noisy. The apartment was quite tired and would benefit from redecorating / updating.

Review 111:The seaview was wonderful - sitting on the balcony having breakfast overlooking the wonderful view was great. The beds were comfortable. A great alternative to staying near Tampa theme parks - only took 15-20 minutes to get to Busch Gardens.

Review 112:I just wish the I could put my feet in the beach water and did it had breakfast there.

Review 113:The mangers at the front desk was the best and very helpful. Made our stay the greatest. Thanks to Jerry and Titus.

Review 114:I just wish there would have been an indoor fitness center.

Review 115:Workers were great!! Super clean place, great grounds to check out sunsets etc. Nice pool and parking area. Free coffee in the morning.

Review 116:The facility had no bar or restaurant. It also had no place to work with colleagues that was indoors other than your room. Coffee machine wasn't made available until 7:00a. Most of the suggested restaurants were really not as walkable as indicated by staff. Bed was located in same space as kitchen about 3 feet away.

Review 117:View of the beach and bay.

Review 118:The beds are horrible, they are hard as a rock. The kitchenette only needs a few item to make it perfect.ie... Pizza pan, pizza cutter and large baking pan. The rooms attract sand and need to be swept and mopped daily, but you only get one cleaning per week.

Review 119:The views are very nice and the pool is perfect. The rooms are spacious and nicely furnished. The staff was wonderful and friendly.

Review 120:The bed had a dent in the middle of matress. And bed made noise like it was coming apart when you move around. Maintaince came to check bed out they flip mattress it help a little.. But everything else was great...

Review 121:The water view and the free shuttle. Friendly front desk associate.

Review 122:WiFi was horrible. No Paper towels in kitchen or dish detergent. However they supplied one dishwashing detergent. Stayed 6 days 5 nights we saw the maid once.

Review 123:View!!!! The front desk associate Evie was terrific. She was amazingly helpful with suggesting places to visit and eat.

Review 124:I h ave booked this hotel way in advance, paid for a water view. Once wechecked-in we got the room # 407 and the view was ok. Nothing special, and it was blocked by the building wing on the right. There is noa/c in the escalator and it smells inside really bad. Photos on thewebsite look amazing and this Hotel is far away from amazing.

Review 125:The size and the cleanliness was ok, nothing special.

Review 126:This location was remarkable! I definitely enjoyed my stay thanks to the beautiful bay view from my balcony and also from the friendly staff. The one bedroom suite was spacious and extremely comfortable.

Review 127:Need a hot tub. Beds just a little softer. Need a broom in the room. But wonderful.

Review 128:We love the location and the beauty of the Sailport. Very layed back and comfortable. We had a few issues that we needed in the room and they were taken care of right away. Everyone very friendly.

Review 129:Bad cable, coffee service wasn't open, coffee filter from last guest still in coffee maker.

Review 130:The pillows and bed was wonderful. Nice sunset view and plenty of room for four people.

Review 131:Lights were not turned on for volleyball area. Not really a swimming beach so that was not clear in description.

Review 132:Beautiful area, staff was terrific and room was as expected.

Review 133:The hotel charged $30 to my charge account for vending despite the fact that I told the Rep. that I had my own snacks. He stated that my account would be credited within days after I checked out, but I just thought it was odd to charge someone for merchandise that was not received. Overall, the hotel was suitable for our needs.

Review 134:The view of the Bay from the Balcony was enjoyable. Security was a plus.

Review 135:Some of the people staying in the hotel left trash on the property. Maintenance did not keep the beach or surrounding area clean to my specifics. Too much $$ to stay an addition 2 hours to wait for my daughters flight...Small pool and crowed. The facilities were okay. Not great. Not bad...

Review 136:Location on Tampa Bay. Closeness to airport. Close to local restaurants.

Review 137:I had a roach on the microwave one morning but my husband killed it and the staff was amazing with coming in to clean without hesitation.

Review 138:The view of our room 437 was amazing..!! Our son who has Autism loved the fact he would wake up to the view of water. It kept him calm and it was super relaxing for him and us.
