Reviews for Fontainebleau Miami Beach
Review 1:Breakfast was average for a 5 star hotel. It is only a good location in relation to beach, there are no close by shops, restaurants etc. It is extremely expensive to stay at, to eat, to use the spa treatments etc. It is not very clean at all. Our shower had hair all over from day 1 and was never removed. Dust everywhere, on benches and specially on the mini bar items. I have stayed in 5 star hotels all over the world, this was by far the worst value for money.
Review 2:Big hotel with lots of facilities. Night club, spa and lots of pools, bars, restaurants etc - next to beach
Review 3:noise of air conditioning facility & the hotel is expensive comparing to the service and I was shocked that if you want to stay on the beach you should pay 100 $ to be on front of the ocean and 25 $ to get an umbrella!!!! Actually it is bad service and I didn't recommend this hotel.
Review 4:Facilities and location is good
Review 5:Limited lounge chairs.
Review 6:The resort was quite nice but pricey... If you weren't at the pool by 7am forget about a good lounge chair. You will either be in a crowded and cramped back row or forced to rent something for 300.00+ dollars. Gift shops are very expensive so pack thousands. Staff was exceptional though. Bartenders wonderful and pool boys were the best.
Review 7:It's a factory. get 'em in, get 'em out. they charge you for everything. with the room rate what it is, you would think they could throw in a bottle of water or a toothbrush. They definitely manage based on their best interest, not the customers.
Review 8:It's Miami. The location deserves most of the positive review.
Review 9:Everything is really expensive. You don't have the option to eat cheaply. All hotel restaurants, also the "casual" ones, are really pricy. No bar where you could sit and have a drink or a beer if you travel with children, since the lobby bar has a 21 year age limit. None of the restaurants has a terrace where you could sit outside. During NYE it felt like the hotel had more guests than it could handle. The pool are was completely packed and everyone did not get sunbeds. There is nothing else close to the hotel. If you want to do something else than stay at the hotel (i.e. have dinner somewhere else, shop..) you are bound to use some kind of transportation (taxi, car, bus...).
Review 10:The hotel facilities and the pool area are really nice. The beach is really close.
Review 11:All staff on site fantastically friendly. Fair warning though it's a giant hotel complex not typically our style... 1st double room so so, but the upgrade to sweet suite was exceptional!!!
Review 12:rooms of extremely poor quality..not 5 star but more 3 star or less food very expensive and not great quality either Please compare to the ritz carlton and upgrade the hotel like theirs
Review 13:location, pool
Review 14:Room was tired and things didn't work - poorly lit and trashy artwork . Noisy aircin from building opposite and fridge in room was too noisy
Review 15:Lively place
Review 16:The room was located right above exhaust or HVAC vents that were constant and loud. You could hear them even with the curtains pulled. Asked for a different room but none available.
Review 17:The service at the food bar out by rage pool area in LeCote, it took a while for the food to come to the table and when do food arrives it was luke warm. Confusing with the breakfast buffet of where to go as the strip steak was sign posted Breakfast Buffet and the other restaurant was not. As the 1st day of our stay we went to the strip steak and the 2nd day we were told go to the other restaurant.
Review 18:Location. Size and comfort or rooms, we liked the whole hotel, the music was nice it felt like a party every day on the beach, the live musicians was a nice touch.
Review 19:The location of my room on the Bay side was not what I booked. But when I finally checked in it was to late change. I had a double bed suite ocean side booked but instead got a 1 bed bayside. It sucked! The noise coming from Collins was ridiculous and if your weren't completely exhausted you were never able to get a decent night sleep or nap. I thought accessing the pool and the beach were quite difficult. It made no sense for the gift shop to close so early. I thought the towels used for the cabanas and lounge chairs were embarrassing and they should be upgraded.
Review 20:I loved the facilities and staff especially my housekeeper! The club was an interesting experience and I enjoyed the center bar of the lobby. The restaurant Hakasan was the part of my stay because the staff and bartenders were amazing. The food was over the top and I can't wait to visit again soon. I wish there was a lounge to go to after dinner inside the restaurant like a small lounge where people have a dj and a place to have an after hour drink?
Review 21:Love the vibe the staff and all one things I got which was crazy the gift shop is super expensive one bottle water for like 10.00 not really call for.
Review 22:The breakfest could be more rich. We missed fresh vegetables.
Review 23:We had appartment in Tower and it was magnificient !! Ocean view, so large and wonderful room.
Review 24:Ocean view upgraded room was really city view over an ugly roof too with a slight view of the ocean off to the side over the top of another building. No satisfied and wish I had not spent He extra money on this. Balcony was dirty. Balcony furniture was old and dirty. Room was a 10 minute trek from the pool . Very inconvienent.
Review 25:I wish it was a little cheaper so I could stay more often
Review 26:Staff was amazing the hotel was beautiful .It was my husbands Birthday weekend the girl at check in gave us a suite with a ocean view with a balcony .
Review 27:This is 3 time somebody in my party had their credit card bill ran up on.by the bartenders false charges we checked out of the hotel we have a $600 bill one month later on the next billing cycle of our credit card there was a $2500 charge Bill through Fountainbleu
Review 28:when we arrived we walked out and looked at the pools and they looked amazing, but later when we came to sit by them- it was way too noisy- ultra loud music, meaning that there were no quiet areas.
Review 29:loved the pools and that it was on the beach
Review 30:Expensive but not so tasty drinks at pool bar.
Review 31:The housekeeping and bell staff were excellent. Check-in/check-out process was simple, efficient and pleasant.
Review 32:We arrived on the wettest day ever in Miami Beach & it was chaos. The place was packed It was difficult to find out exactly which entrance to use for checking in. there were no bellboys around so we unloaded our car onto a trolley & pushed it into a chaotic check in area inside the hotel. Whilst I joined the check in queue my partner stood with the baggage & suddenly a rude bellboy appeared & said we were not allowed to push our own baggage in the hotel, although nobody bothered whilst we were unloading in the rain & pushed it from the entrance to the check in desk, which is a fair distance. He was insistent that only he could take the baggage up to our room, probably the thought of a tip being his only motivation because had he been interested in helping guests he would have been on the car park in the rain
Review 33:After the chaos on arrival when I eventually made the front of the check in queue the clerk was helpful & friendly & every member of staff that we came into contact with from thereon in was the same. The hotel & its grounds are great & we enjoyed everything about our stay
Review 34:I thought the staff was very welcoming and accommodating. My boyfriend and I were just off a cruise ship and needed early check in and we were instantly served and even upgraded!
Review 35:queuing for breakfast. the amount of local taxes and unexplained hotel fees. too big. group of friends and all placed in different towers. spa, cabanas, gym all extras. too big and noisy
Review 36:room comfortable. access to beach
Review 37:Lovely beautiful hotel right on the beach. Friendly staff and lots of facilities it is truely an amazing experience staying at this hotel and I would recommend it to everyone! Also good for people watching .
Review 38:Ridiculously loud. Took too long for room service to be delivered each time. By the time food arrived it was completely cold. Check in was a disaster. After having confirmation of the booking on booking.com upon arrival they told me they had no room for me then proceeded to tell me the only way they could book me a new room was by taking my phone with the booking.com app on it showing the reservation. The receptionist then disappeared for half an hour with my phone. In short, total nightmare...
Review 39:The cleanliness of my room which I addressed at check-out. Also, rental car was damaged by valet parking. This was addressed during my review of hotel and obviously still an issue.
Review 40:The location was great and the staff was superb.
Review 41:Absolutely nothing!
Review 42:The view from my hotel was nothing short of MAGICAL!!!!! i almost cried when it was time to leave. The pool, beach OMG! divine... all i have is good, great and excellent reviews about the FontainBleu... can't wait to come back!
Review 43:Valet - a very impatient valet attendee was extremely unhelpful. No greeting but instead said 'name', and when we went to spell it he raised his voice and told us to stop and slow down. No apologies when we brought his rude attitude to his attention.
Review 44:Noisy, badly behaved guests that staff turned a blind eye to. Rooms and food very expensive and very average. No coffee facilities in room, iMac not relevant.
Review 45:Good pool. Architecture of main building, decor of main lobby.
Review 46:In our last day the entire Pool was closed for a private function.
Review 47:Cool Hotel with Party music at the pools. The Hotel offers several restaurants which are all great. (We tried them all)!
Review 48:It is so large that getting around is time-consuming and confusing.
Review 49:Fabulous top-notch facilities and lots of them. The hotel is on the beach separated only by a low boardwalk for jogging/walking.
Review 50:Honestly, nothing not like to like. Fabulous experience.
Review 51:The ambience was great. Restaurants in the hotel were delicious. We didn't even have the need of going to the club. The bar in the hotel lobby was a good experience. Even considering on having my wedding there. Definitely worth flying there from Chicago
Review 52:I was very professionally short changed by a member of bar staff. I do not like being "rinsed" by service charges and then a clear expectation of a tip. The Telephone car retrieval system for the valets was not working.
Review 53:The comfort of the room and the food in the Hakkasan restaurant as well as the food associated staff. The car Valet staff were excellent.
Review 54:In the evening bar in the lounge TO MATCH NOICE , Bad acoustic ! Beds are not prepared for the night for a hotel of this style is sad !
Review 55:Most of all !
Review 56:I dont like people eating and drinking inside the pool and cleaning their hands with the pool water. I dont like guest have to wait for vallet parking when people go for Liv. We should have special vallet parking because If Liv dont have nothing with the hotel and se have to wait to get inside we shouldnt have to wait to leave the Car when we arrive. I dont like that nobody at reception or concierge speak spanish it,s a five Star hotel.... Too many people in the lobby.
Review 57:The location is very good. The hotel is beatiful.
Review 58:The rooms are way overpriced, the staff are arrogant and unhelpful, the security would rather stick his arm out and block you instead of politely saying "sir you can't go this way", the lobby is constantly over packed, and the icing on the cake is the check desk waiting until after he's charged your card to inform you that there's 30 dollars a day charge for vallet.. Yes you pay 10,000 dollars on your stay and you don't get free valet.. Funny
Review 59:The facilities, pools and restaurants were great...
Review 60:Too expensive to stay there. We paid $63 for 2 small Piña Coladas and a small quesadilla. we had to pay $25 daily for our umbrellas on the beach and for those around the pool area. only ballet parking @ $40 a day, plus tip when dropping off the car and when picking it up. We couldn't eat at their restaurants because the food was super expensive, only affordable for the very rich. The hotel is too big and everything is far apart. we had to walk a long distance to get to the beach, and even to get to the main pools.
Review 61:Cleanliness. The management staff was nice and accomodating. The first room we got did not meet our expectations: No refrigerator, no chester drawers for clothes or personal items. We were supposed to have a balcony with ocean view, instead, we had a view to a large AC unit that made a lot of noise. We asked for a king bed and we had 2 full size beds instead. Yet, rather than allowing us to look for another hotel, like I wanted to do, the management was apologetic and we were moved to an accomodatinf efficiency with excellent views from our 2 balconies. Great experience and grateful for their understanding and efforts to make sure we were satisfied.
Review 62:Was there for two days, could not get a chair by the pool area , unless we paid $ 500.00 for two lounge chairs... That was absurd... We were told to go to the beach... Had we wanted the beach we would have stayed home because we actually live in Boca right on the beach... Unfortunately will not go back.... Extremely extremely expensive , & certainly not worth the money.. I just returned from Aruba , & spent almost the same amount of money for a truly heavenly beach , pool & romance...
Review 63:The beauty of the hotel, our bellman Kevin was exceptional!!!
Review 64:I feel that the valet parking shouldn't be as expensive for the people who booked a room there and if so include it in the price once room is booked. I also feel that checkout should be later, around noon.
Review 65:room was over priced....however, the environment ws special.. The outside parking team are like wolves praying on everyone...Hustle hustle and then not giving receipts and then having to run after them for your own car??? Bellmen are too busy..or too slow..thirty min to get one??
Review 66:room was nicely furnish.... the scarletti's restaurant was among the best...
Review 67:Place was very clean and staff was very helpful and accommodating. The resort was absolutely beautiful. The only experience that wasn't great was the bar service from beach, extremely slow.
Review 68:Noise from neighbouring room as reported to front desk as well as daily charges for in room computer wether it was used or not. I responded to a special rate per room promotion but this particular charge was not shown or advised until I checked into the room.... a little late to do anything about this hidden charge.!!?
Review 69:Location and amenities
Review 70:Room service is slow. But at least they tell you up front
Review 71:Everything.. I'm a local and we go there quite often as a getaway. Love this place and all it has to offer.. Nothing in south Florida compares
Review 72:Staff is unprofessional Location is very bad So expensive Resturant is so expensive Internet wifi is bad They just take care of the committees meeting but we as a residences must take a long way to ! reach our room You need to wait in a line for everything Nobody in the spa because it's expensive 3 times than other hotels
Review 73:Nothing
Review 74:Everything!!!
Review 75:Just the overall environment, convience and aire about it all.The fact of it being the place where entertainers and celeberties are staying too!
Review 76:Some staff not friendly. Some staff at the breakfast restaurant should at least smile. They charged me an additional amount AFTER i checked out and when i emailed them i received no answer. Never staying there again. Extremely expensive valet parking.
Review 77:Facilities Pool LIV Miami
Review 78:It is a very noisy hotel. Crowded. Air conditioning is too strong and you cannot turn it off. You cannot open the windows. Breakfast was absolutely crowded, quality of food and beverages for breakfast was nothing special and very expensive; service was bad.
Review 79:Staff was rude everything was over priced horrible view had to wait to long for everything pool service sucked and accuracy sucked. My room had a broken tv broken air and had dirty towels sheets and bedding.
Review 80:I liked the gym and the lobby
Review 81:This resort has full service, spa, gym, upscale dining, as well as excellent location. We enjoyed the beautiful pool and convenient beach access. We scheduled outside activities like parasailing and a city bus tour with the help of concierge services. We enjoyed courteous and friendly service from all staff members.
Review 82:We stayed there for our honeymoon, which the hotel knew about beforehand so a small effort would've been nice. The minibar is weight sensitive so you can't put your own water or anything in the fridge
Review 83:It was awesome to stay in a such a beautiful and famous hotel, the vibe was also very cool.
Review 84:Customer service staff needs more training in friendliness. Very expensive drinks. The outside pool comfort seats you had to rent for 150 dollars which I thought was ridiculous. Need to have a courtesy car for guest. Didn't like how the supervisors treated me after I told them my bed had hair in it. Supervisors need more training. Samuel was awesome.
Review 85:Bartenders were great (Melissa journey and Yvonne were awesome. Pool was great. Doorman was great. Friendly was also great.
Review 86:You are paying for Miami. I travel abroad bi weekly and stay in hotels that are as nice or nicer for half the price with breakfast.
Review 87:The staff was excellent in every facet in which I needed their service. The cleanliness of the hotel was exactly what I expected.
Review 88:Too cold inside with the high outdoor temperatures - make sure to bring a sweater for the restaurants (at least if you're a European) Room rates are ok, but everything else you buy at the hotel is very expensive, so be prepared for that.
Review 89:Fantastic stay. Pool area is great! Restaurants are excellent!
Review 90:The rooms smelled like mold, the fire alarm kept going off, the spa was crowded and wasn't a peaceful environment considering its a 5 star hotel, the valet took forever even if we called in advance (not to mention they left the top off when they took the car to the garage over night and it started raining when they brought it out so we got wet).
Review 91:The restaurants at the hotel, the fitness center, the room was nice and comfortable.
Review 92:Staff was very helpful, especially Alic at check in-always professional and lovely. The housekeeping staff greeted you and asked if there was anything needed above the general service.
Review 93:Bit far from South Beach action but if you have UBER cabs its not a problem.
Review 94:Stunning hotel complex & great staff. Personal thanks to Alfredo who upgraded us to a wonderful room and sent us a nice gift for our honeymoon.
Review 95:I did not like paying for the parking, it should including with hotel booking. I have received my room late at 6:30pm and no compencation for that.
Review 96:I'v like the facility and the juniur suite was amazing.
Review 97:Too many trashy people Used to be a bit classy Over crowded makes it feel like a market place
Review 98:They had many pools they had nice posh restaurants There was a nice nightclub
Review 99:I had to ask to book in. The reception delayed my book in by 1 hour because they forgot about me. They got my bill wrong and I had to phone to get it corrected. Security guards were very noticeable which was uncomfortable at times.
Review 100:Staff at the valet and bell services are rude, long waiting time for the car to come from the parking, parking is too expensive, the room when we checked in was dirty i would rate the cleanliness 0/10.
Review 101:All facilities are excellent, location and room size
Review 102:I felt I was nickeled and dime at every stop in the hotel. When you pay a resort fee you don't expect to pay a $25 fee for an umbrella at the beach. Ridiculous. Would not come back here.
Review 103:Nowhere to sit at the pool as a staying guest. Kids in all the pool areas except a tiny pool to the side. Felt it should be the opposite.
Review 104:The bars and clubs are phenomenal.
Review 105:For the cost I would have like to see a few complimentary things like coffee in your room along with some bottled water. I had a "Deluxe" room and these things are standard in most high end hotels that I've stayed in.
Review 106:The atmosphere and the staff were A1 all the way?
Review 107:Everything is overrated price wise . You rent an umbrella on the sea even in the hotel location for 25 USD , renting a place on the pool (round sofa) costs 300 USD . The staff is a bit cocky faced issues with speed of wifi in the last night and when I called the reception, their answer was that too much people are using the wifi . You cannot use the spa without doing a massage or paying a fee .
Review 108:The place is really nice and the swimming pool area is very luxurious.
Review 109:I wish more effort was put into the beach area as much as the pool. Also I know the liv club is seperate but I wish they offered more help if you are staying at the hotel and wanted to go to the club.
Review 110:The pool area was amazing. Loved the hotel.
Review 111:The prices of renting the beds and lounges by the pool - spending between $200-$1000USD for the day is quite pricey.
Review 112:There was nothing not to like about this hotel..we were given a room upgrade to the top floor which had beautiful views of the beach and pool... The room was very clean and the bed was so comfortable! I would highly recommend this hotel and I will be staying again!
Review 113:expensive , and they have to put some shower near by the swimming pool all ppl get into the pool without taking quick shower
Review 114:Swimming pool and location
Review 115:nothing just it is expensive a little bit . They to put some shower in the swimming pool every one get into the swimming pool without taking quick shower
Review 116:Location and swimming pool , you can spend all the Time at the day in the swimming pool
Review 117:fair pool water quality and cleanliness, place is comparatively crowded and loud
Review 118:Very nice location, outstanding dinig and food and spectacular views from my ocean front room
Review 119:Price was outrageous for what you get. I can understand charging a high amount but this was crazy for what you get. $192 for 7 diet coke bar pour vodka is ridiculous.
Review 120:Atmosphere
Review 121:We paid a lot of money for the room and the view was terrible. You opened the curtains and all you saw was an ugly roof. The pool area was very loud and congested. Great for people ready to party not those looking to relax. And finally, we were told to call early in the morning and they would be able to give us an extended check-out. When we called early in the morning they said no. Then when we were at breakfast the couple next to us mentioned they had just called and got an extended check-out. We were very disappointed.
Review 122:The rooms were very nicely decorated, clean and comfortable.
Review 123:little far from shops and the main act of south beach
Review 124:the hotel is amazing extremely comfortable for families and children everything in the hotel is extremely pricy you should use the STARBUCKS NEXT DOOR in the eden roc relaxing and enjoyable
Review 125:Watch out for the additional charges for parking, breakfast allowance and local taxes. Booking.com does not make that very clear
Review 126:Totally brilliant atmosphere and vibe to this place!
Review 127:The staff at the pool and LIV nightclub were very unfriendly and rude.
Review 128:The hotel was clean and comfortable, great location and the front desk staff was very accommodating.
Review 129:Didnt get the upgrade I paid for. Staff was incompetent. Door staff, valet, check-in all had no idea what was going on. And I worked at Four Seasons hotels for 10 years
Review 130:The long walks to get from one location to the other or the extremely long wait for valet parking to get your vehicle it's a long and hot wait!!!
Review 131:I liked the friendly staff
Review 132:I think guest of the hotel should have access to club LIV by showing your hotel key.... I stayed at the hotel and I wasn't even able to get in the club :(
Review 133:the pools/music
