Reviews for Red Lion Hotel Woodlake Conference Center

Review 1:1. Noise from trains 2. Tub bottom was old, damaged 3. No light switch at door to room 4. Thought hotel facilities were under-staffed. Front desk. Restaurant.

Review 2:Bed was very comfortable. Value was good as room rate included breakfast

Review 3:Rooms could probably use some remodeling

Review 4:The price was good for a holiday season. The breakfast was enjoyable the lady running it was very pleasant. The grounds were pretty

Review 5:We change rooms three times the first room the door was kicked in and was never fixed the second room the heater did not work at all in that night it was 30° in Sacramento.... That's cold for Sacramento ... The third room was decent

Review 6:The staff was super nice a bout it they accommodated us and they let us check out a little later the following day

Review 7:Didnt like there wasnt a microwave in the room. Wasnt as clean as I would have picked

Review 8:Room was a lot more spacious than anticipated. Hotel staff was friendly

Review 9:The bed was horribly uncomfortable and the room smelled like smoke, even though it was a non-smoking room. Even the bed sheets smelled like smoke. Thankfully, I had some Febreze and was able to spray it on the sheets and in the air, otherwise I would have not been able to sleep there.

Review 10:Staff person at front desk was courteous.

Review 11:Some basic upgrades to the rooms are needed to repair old worn out fixtures and paint

Review 12:The staff was so wonderful-every one of them. I loved the openness of the grounds, the gym was good enough, and it was easy to get to our various day trips from there. Again, though, the staff was the very best part!

Review 13:Not too much a bother but landscaping was not to clean around my room area...leaves,paper and cigarette butts

Review 14:Like the fact they have concerts year round and it's so convenient to stay over. Nice lounge...

Review 15:Thin walls/ceiling, I could hear the upstairs neighbor walking; TV and I could smell cigarette smoke.

Review 16:Location and availability. Bartender Dan was very accommodating.

Review 17:nope everything was pretty good and will most likely come back

Review 18:pretty much everything, nice hotel grounds and staff and breakfast buffet by the pond was pleasant

Review 19:insufficient staff at front counter. Waited 30 minutes to get information and finally gave up. 1 staff person on duty and evidently no one else to call upon because no attempt was made to get help when 3 in line to register plus me.

Review 20:quiet & peaceful setting. beautiful lake and fountains

Review 21:The sheer curtain in the room needed to be replaced as they were torn and in disrepair & the bed # didn't work

Review 22:YOur staff was extremely helpful and pleasant

Review 23:The room had minor issues (needed in a few spots, questionable a/c unit) but nothing major and I did not ask for repairs or different room.

Review 24:Good value, close enough to downtown for my needs. Very nice and helpful staff. Property is older but well maintained. Seemed safe enough.

Review 25:Afternoon desk clerk had a very indifferent attitude during check in. And the bar was closed at a time when it was supposed to be open. 5 p.m.

Review 26:Room was clean and comfortable and quiet

Review 27:Parking was atrocious!!! I think we had some "girls" working put of some of the rooms.

Review 28:Easy to find and right off a major freeway going to dowbtown Sacramento. Frint desk was friendly and veru helpful. Room had a sleep number bed.

Review 29:I didn't like the fact that there was not a fridge in the unit and the location was bad.

Review 30:Very nice looking place and the water effects were so beautiful. The sleep number bed??? Fantastic.

Review 31:Nice friendly staff and very comfortable room. It's a large property so don't bring your bags in when you check in as you may have to drive to your room.

Review 32:That they charges my card 100 for a deposit. I received it back three days later which wasn't too bad.

Review 33:The grounds were beautiful! ! Beds were very comfortable and the staff was very friendly.

Review 34:Asked for a wake up call did not get one late for my appointment beds were not comfortable AtAll and they were broken would not stay there again

Review 35:Not much

Review 36:Over the yrs alot has been remodeled & upgraded but the rooms on the back side were not. The ceiling was dirty and the tiles were dropping. The bathroom was old and the light switch made a buzzing noise. Also, another ice machine somewhere would be convenient, pool towels, micro & mini fridge without cost.

Review 37:I like the nice size rooms, big king size bed and the summer concerts on the property.

Review 38:We were awaken by the sound of a motor at 9am on Sunday after 4th of July. We called the front desk twice to ask why they were cleaning the pool on a Sunday, when you had a full house! They didn't stop until after 11am. Bad choice for the hotel!

Review 39:Had people talking outside my door at 100 am, late night traffic, made me think of drug traffic. Too many homeless people made me feel uncomfortable in the area. No restaurants in the area to speak of

Review 40:When we got into our room the temp was 90 deg. Turned on the A/C for more than 2 hours but the room temp only went down to 87 deg. We called the front desk and instead of just moving us to another room the grouchy lady said she would send maintenance.. We waited another 45 min and finally just left. It should be noted that we noticed no one at the pool had room keys which made us wonder if they had paid for a room or just came to swim for free.

Review 41:The lady in the gift shop

Review 42:While checking out, I asked for a receipt and was denied. When my secretary called for the receipt, front desk asked if she wanted the receipt emailed to MY email address ??? My upstairs neighbors started making A LOT of noise at 2:00 am.

Review 43:I like to location; close to downtown, Arden Mall, and other places I frequent. The breakfast was great with good service. I frequently stay here for the concerts. Hope this facility gets the upgrade/facelift it deserves.

Review 44:Before entering my room, I could see a huge tear and hole in the room curtain. The room had been cleaned but this obvious issue was completely ignored. Discovered that I had to walk across the facility to a different building in order to get ice. The desk chair was too low to work on my computer. Overall not the greatest. I remember when the Woodlake Inn was a premier hotel in Sacramento

Review 45:The staff was the most pleasant experience overall. They sincerely tried to make my stay as comfortable as possible.

Review 46:I like the grounds setting of the hotel. The pond with the fountain and geese was very nice and relaxing setting. They gave me a free upgrade to a room near the pond and fountain.

Review 47:Restaurant wasnt open "because there were not enough customers" .... we had free breakfast for our 2 night stay and didnt recieve it. Frogs and Mosquitos in our room and staff wouldnt pick up the phone.

Review 48:The rude staff refused us breakfast even tho it was included in my booking they claimed it wasn't, had to argue it at check out and show proof. Room was mediocre at best (stains in carpets, bathroom fan falling out of ceiling, didn't feel fresh and clean, security lock had been broken and fixed with 2 of the 4 required screws, it wouldn't stop a 2 year old), found hair pick and cell phone under bed. The outside needs a makeover. Pool and spa not working. Loud guests til 4am (not the type you confront either unless you want to face retaliation), train passing by at all hours.

Review 49:The sleep number bed and fluffy towels.

Review 50:Hotel very dated and shows signs of needed updating especially in the room 262 bathroom. Chipped porcelain and sink drain took a long time to drain .

Review 51:Conference Center was very well organized and Hotel personnel very polite and accommodating.

Review 52:I wished I had known that there was a concert the first night I stayed, but i would not have been surprised. It would not have kept me from booking a room, but parking was a challange.

Review 53:I loved the view and how each room had its own little porch even for the second floor guest. Since i was on the second floor I felt I had privacy when i was on my little porch.

Review 54:Of the 800 rooms open, the person put in the room next to us was very active and loud. She and her friend(s) kept us up from 2 am to 5 am with her expressiveness. I called the front desk to complain, but the noise did not stop.

Review 55:The room was nice and the location was good. The staff was very friendly and polite.

Review 56:The problem I didn't like was there were cobwebs all over the bushessurrounding the lake and the rooms. They have grounds people; thatshould also be addressed. It would make the area so much cleaner andinviting. Some lighting fixtures outside also needed replacing, our roomwas fine for the first few days, but when it started getting hotteroutside, little ants started coming into our room. In the pool area, there are ants everywhere. Time to spray the place down to control it.The staff in dining really need to wake up and pay attention tocustomers wanting to eat at the hotel. My family and I stood there for20 minutes with no service and finally left and went to the closestrestaurant. Because of the ants, they gave us a breakfast voucher, whichwe declined to use. The Wifi is terrible, let's just say there is nowifi because that's what constantly happens. The a/c wasconfusing, one minute it is on, the next thing you know it turns off andthen comes back on with musty air. The beds were so uncomfortable, sleepnumbers, very basic and standard, your just pushing a button to let airfill up the mattress. If you let all the air out, you sink into the baseboard, thank goodness I brought my own blankets and pillows to lay on.When purchasing pool goggles at the hotels gift shop, the old lady atthe counter tried to sell us a package of goggles, but here's thekicker; it was a package set of 3, and there was only one in there. Thewhole set was $19.99, she told us these little green eye goggles (nosnorkel piece) was $19.99. Drive down to the local Target and buy somefor $1.99.

Review 57:When arriving, the front desk was very excited to see us, and gave us aroom with a view, at the discounted price. That was really cool. And theview was amazing. The pool was awesome. Very large size pool with agreat hot tub. It was very relaxing being there on the weekdays, veryquiet at the hotel. The bar staff was humorous and kind. I usuallycomplain about not having hot water in my room, not a problem here. Youcan take a 15 minute shower and the water stays hot. Yay! The parkingwas very convenient. Privacy well respected. Housekeeping was on top ofcleaning our room everyday. There are always pool towels in the pool foryou to use. Great touch!

Review 58:We liked: Large, clean, and comfortable room. Luxurious bedding. Spacious grounds. Refreshing hot tub and pool. Wild geese flying into the lake. An older, well maintained facility with no Glitz. We'll stay at the Red Lion again.
