Reviews for Pacific Inn Redwood City
Review 1:Overall staff was very good. However, my wife almost had to arm wrestle a staff person when she asked for a couple of extra blankets. The air conditioner/heater was very old and dirty
Review 2:Complimentary breakfast was outstanding. The location was convenient for our needs.
Review 3:You should not expect to much from the breakfast. Very often they are out on items with the breakfast and you need to ask for it. All hot items are prepared in a microwave/oven? The rooms are pretty old, but clean. I assume the hotel is from the 70s. All looks pretty old.... Internet is slow. Just enough for browsing. You need to logon to the internet everyday. Not fixed internet line, only WIFI. The staf (frontdesk & breakfast) are very busy with their cell-phone all the time. Very unprofessional. Jacuzzi was broken.
Review 4:Enough parking which is free. Close to supermarkets and short drives to many restaurants. Good bed and cleaning personal are hard working people who do a good job.
Review 5:everything about the property was done as cheaply as possible. Cheap toilet paper, cheat sheets, cheap furniture. no closet doors,a single lamp next to one of the beds had to be plugged in the wall in order to turn on. Then it was discovered the bulb was burned out.
Review 6:great location.
Review 7:Rude check in staff should not be in the hospitality business, they should also speak clear English . They also need to install carpet and update bathrooms
Review 8:Location
Review 9:The bathroom was a bit odd with the large Jacuzzi tub, not enough towels and no towel bars to hang up towels. The bathroom could have been a bit cleaner. A little bit of grime in the corners.
Review 10:Nice clean facility - ample parking. Comfortable bed with crisp linens, large clean room, large bathroom. Breakfast in the morning is very nice. In-room coffee, too. Polite person at front desk.
Review 11:The person checking me in was a little rude. I called in the morning to say I was going to be in late and was told it was fine. The person checking me in told me he was going to cancel my reservation.
Review 12:The room was clean and comfortable.
Review 13:I would have to say the noise early in the morning from staff working on the premises.
Review 14:Bed is comfortable and I enjoy the jacuzzi to relax. The hotel is at a good location.
Review 15:The room must have been an after thought and is not very functionalbe
Review 16:The room was very small to have 2 queen beds in it. The bed next to the window had the air conditioner right next to it and you could not utilized the closet cuz the other bed was right up against it.
Review 17:The quality was not up to standards. The staff was far from friendly, welcoming or helpful. The cleanliness was undesirable. One example of this was the long black hairs found on my clean bedsheets. I stayed here four nights and do not plan on giving this place another try.
Review 18:Very little
Review 19:The room we had at an earlier visit with two beds was ridiculously too small and obviously meant for only one bed. You could hardly access the closet or move around the beds.
Review 20:The deluxe king bedroom was roomy and comfortable. The location was great for access to Stanford University. The breakfast was fine except they ran out of scrambled eggs and it wasn't re-filled when we ate. The whirlpool tub was wonderful after an exhausting day.
Review 21:When we checked it, the check in desk, did Not inform us there was noHot water until we read a note in the room. They had no hot water aspromised by 8pm. There was no hot water ever and me and my guest werenot able to take a shower. They were going to refund 50% back and I havenot seen that credit yet.
Review 22:The proximity to where I needed to be, the price compared to other similar hotels, and the positive reviews by other travelers prompted me to try this hotel. I was quite satisfied and would definitely come back again.
Review 23:No elevator.Old TV with a bad picture. Horrible Breakfast - Sparse and dried out. Didn't eat there. Housekeeping knocked on my door an hour before checkout and didn't even give me 30 seconds to come to the door, ( I was on the phone), before they opened it. Front desk - rude.
Review 24:Clean
Review 25:Checked in around 4pm and had to wait around 40 minutes until my room was ready and get the keys. I would understand it if it was noon.
Review 26:The bath tub was really nice. Convenient location for catching the bus. Ideal for a short stay.
Review 27:Terrible, terrible and terrible breakfast. The poorest quality of all meals. Weird staff, especially at breakfast. The rooms overheat during the day.
Review 28:Reasonable price compared to other hotels, AC can be turned off, spacey rooms, clean bathroom
Review 29:My reservation that I had made thru Booking.com was lost. They charged us more than the amount that booking.com had. They did straighten it out in the end but it took some time. One of the desk people was not helpful at all. The others were.
Review 30:We were attending a graduation at Stanford and the location was fine for less money than staying in Palo Alto.
Review 31:It was a very basic room - not worth the price paid. The staff were not helpful at all. The WiFi was so slow that we were not able to use it.
Review 32:The room had been updated and was clean.
Review 33:Complimentary breakfast wasn't much to desire or taste. Staff was 50/50 in mood.
Review 34:Location location location.... Parking within complex and secure Room very spacious clean and windows open/close
Review 35:I've never stayed anywhere where; 1) The coffee is so universally bad; including in-room 2) The "free" breakfast is unappealing and served in a room that appears to have been once a large broom closet.
Review 36:Check out
Review 37:Had to stand in the parking lot for the internet. The room reeked of deodorizer, carpet thin and towels thinner. The staff were very douer and the breakfast was, to be polite, Horrible
Review 38:The flowers at the front are just that, a front. It is all downhill after that
Review 39:The wi-fi only worked 1 day. I had to keep going to the office to get an extra towel even when I called and asked before they cleaned the room. The towels were very scratchy! Upon ark all the clerk told me (almost shamed me) about going through booking because it cost me an extra 80.00. I heard him do the same thing to everyone.
Review 40:The clerk was very friendly and the room was clean. The clerk tried to make sure my stay was really good.
Review 41:Not really a bad experience, the bed was harder than I liked.
Review 42:They did a very nice remodeling job. The staff was friendly and called to confirm a late check in while we were on the road, which I really appreciated. Full cooked breakfast was nice.
Review 43:Room 106 was next to the staircase. It was noisy from the stairs and an air conditioner outside. The free breakfast was anything but healthy.. The coffee was so so.
Review 44:It was convenient for our needs.
Review 45:PAINT SPLASHES ON COUNTER. STAYED 5 NIGHTS AND ASKED 2 TIMES TO HAVE ROOM TELEPHONE REPAIRED WITHOUT ANY SUCCESS NOR ANY EFFORT IT SEEMS.
Review 46:FREE BREAKFAST WAS OK
Review 47:We were two women traveling alone. We were placed in a room in the very back of the facility, which was separated by a wall from the front portion. All of the other occupants in that section seemed to be all male construction workers.
Review 48:Great snacks and full breakfast
Review 49:I didn't like the closeness of the bed to the bathroom - so close the bathroom door didn't open all they way; it bumped into the bed.
Review 50:I liked the seclusion of the room (quiet and out of the way); I liked that they offered a breakfast with the stay and the huge bed.
Review 51:We stay at many motels and the sheets and towels NEED to be replaced at this motel to make it a good motel. They are trying just finish the upgrades with the little things!!!
Review 52:Price!
Review 53:It was filthy, poorly maintained, run down, stained, and almost nothing worked. There were no drain stoppers, the tub/shower was treacherous, the towels had black dirt on them and were thin and small, and the room smelled horrible. The breakfast was lukewarm and tasteless with the scrambled eggs so watery that they were too disgusting to choke down. I could go on, but I won't. I want to forget that I was ever there.
Review 54:They refunded the second and third night's room fees when we left after one night.
Review 55:We weren't sure about the heat so we turned on the oven to break the chill early in the morning. Wasn't ideal but it worked.
Review 56:The unit had a full refrigerator and stove, in addition to a microwave and a big jacuzzi tub. Hot food for the free breakfast was a treat!
Review 57:You should bring your own towel. They have postage stamp size and paper towel thin towels. However, nice washcloths ;-) Foam pillows (if that sort of thing matters). Has little sound-proofing (although there was no unreasonable noise). Heating and cooling system is dated - but adequate. If you are into it ... it is like comfortably going camping.
Review 58:Staff was very pleasant and worked to be accommodating. For the average hotel price in the area, the price performance is very good. It is very clean, appears to be well managed. Clean. and their door key system is surprisingly current. If you are into camping, it is like camping with a bit of comfort.
Review 59:we were there on a Saturday and just in time for the re-asphalting of their driveway. Just our luck I suppose.
Review 60:Proximity to our destination and the abundance of places to eat and shop as well. The price was reasonable and the parking was good. Their free cookies & popcorn was a plus.
Review 61:The towel rack in the bathroom had no rod so you couldn't hang a wet towel. There was no glass in the bathrn. but I found a paper cup in the Kitchen. The next night it was missing so I had to get another paper cup. I didn't use the kitchen.
Review 62:I stayed for two nights. The second night the room was clean and I had all new towels. Everything was tidy
Review 63:breakfast: powdered eggs, otherwise OK. Helpers in kitchen not attentive, didn't offer to help; were talking to each other
Review 64:comfortable bed, jacuzzi bathtub, quiet at night; great price on booking.com frig and microwave--tho I didn't need them this time.
Review 65:Wish I could have got a double bed.
Review 66:The staff was wonderful in trying to help you in anyway possible. Provided free popcorn, chips and cookies in the office. Room were clean and nice and much less expensive than any other motel in the area. I called all the other motels to get a double bed because all those rooms were already booked. So I know the other motels were higher.
Review 67:Not the greatest neighborhood (across the street from a strip club), we did spot one roach-like bug in the hall. TV quality was horrible - very fuzzy..
Review 68:Fairly easy to find off of the freeway, decent sized room, staff was friendly enough, tub was nice, reasonably priced.
Review 69:Noisy guests in other rooms. I realize that this doesn't play a part in services but it does let others know that this hotel gets a lot of workers that stay there. They can be very LOUD and don't care that they are disturbing others. The Wi-Fi didn't always work either.
Review 70:The staff is very nice. The room is adequate for the price. I would stay here again because the price is good and the location for me works well. Overall, I would recommend it.
Review 71:Receptionist was handling an over-charge with another customer when I arrived. She never acknowledged my presence. After waiting for about 15 minutes, I was finally able to check in, which took another 10 minutes. She never said sorry you had to wait, welcome to our hotel, or thank you and tossed the card key on the counter without telling me where the room was located. The place is very old and does not look very clean. The A/C is the old window type that makes a lot of noise all night. The free breakfast looked so unappetizing that we passed.
Review 72:Nothing
Review 73:air-conditioner fell off the wall trying to fix that other than that it's about it too far we've lost
Review 74:People are friendly breakfast was okay I'm at mushy To fan from the Hopital
Review 75:The sleeping attendant during the early hours. Sprawled out with a pillow in the office seemed a bit unprofessional.
Review 76:The staff upgraded the room for free.
Review 77:Beds were hard. Decor was dated. Breakfast was edible, but not good. People upstairs were loud. No amenities really (no channel guide for the non HD TV and no info on area restaurants, etc.).
Review 78:The room was clean enough, and it provided us a place to sleep while visiting Stanford. Only recommend this hotel if the better ones are full or it fits their budget and purpose.
Review 79:The staff needs work, my rooms floors were sticky like they never mopped the floors. They never changed my sheets just made up the bed.
Review 80:The rooms size and amenities were good. The saving grace was internet access. I'm traveling for and was of great importance having the internet.
Review 81:Parking spaces seemed to be narrow--barely wide enough for a mini-van. Comment re this form--there was no choice for "non-couple" 2 persons.
Review 82:It was clean. The breakfast was remarkable for this type of place. It was reasonably priced
Review 83:For a small hotel chain, compared to a Holiday Inn, I did not expect to see that the room I had booked was so huge. Shocking but I loved it and it was much cheaper than the Holiday Inn too. I would like too see the same setup in other hotels. The bathroom was amazing. A Jacuzzi in the bathroom that's a plus. The staff was friendly as well. Overall it was a great experience.
Review 84:good food, clean room, staff helpful. Liked that Target was close by
Review 85:Close to family, clean with amenities such as hair dryer, internet link.
Review 86:This place brought value for the dollar spent. The hot breakfast, room accommodations and staff all surpassed the price paid.
Review 87:Shower was just ok
Review 88:Large, clean room with 2 queen beds. Close to Stanford University.
Review 89:Great breakfast - very clean - friendly, attentive staff - It was close to the train station for us to ride to San Francisco
Review 90:Awful place, not clean or safe, food was awful.Paint comming off walls. Stains on bed sheets.
Review 91:It could have been cleaner. The bathtub was dirty
Review 92:Clean. Big room. Comfortable beds. Friendly staff.
Review 93:Run down, old dreary towels and the pillows hurt my neck
Review 94:It was freshly painted
Review 95:My parents stay there every year. They come from Southern California. Mom loves the flowers. They love staying there.
Review 96:Facilities, room, breakfast
Review 97:The jacuzzi tub was dirty when it was filled with water and it didn't work.
Review 98:Location.
Review 99:Overall not a bad place quiet and we'll priced for the area.
Review 100:Breakfast was pretty bleak.
Review 101:Clean, comfortable rooms, free wifi.
Review 102:Our room was very nice and seemed to have been recently upgraded. The location was good for us,too.
Review 103:Everything in the room was of the lowest quality . The smallest bar of soap I've ever seen .
Review 104:It was clean and quiet at night .
Review 105:N/A
Review 106:I like the breakfast, Jacuzzi, and all the extra benefits that are included in the room. Like iron and ironing board etc...
Review 107:Rooms did not smell too good, reception not too interested in us and overall poor place to stay
Review 108:Not much
Review 109:Old place, did the job.
Review 110:Noisy
Review 111:Poor TV reception, and poor quality of in room amenities.
Review 112:Loved the in room Jacuzzi
Review 113:The outlets were all covered leaving us limited to 2 outlets where the TV and small refrigerator were plugged into.
Review 114:The staff was very friendly.
Review 115:Staff very rude, getting breakfest Was like being in jail. Watched every move, very uncomfortable.
Review 116:Checking out.
Review 117:the Jacuzzi tub after a long tripfrom Nevada
Review 118:Air conditioner
Review 119:I love the shower and the jacuzzi
Review 120:The Manger. Rude, disrespectful
Review 121:My room
Review 122:Room was depressing and breakfast Poe. Basically a contractor's hotel
Review 123:They had a room
Review 124:No kitchen accessories to cook with.
Review 125:Kitchen in room.
Review 126:Wifi too slow
Review 127:Spacious room & bathroom. Loved the huge bath. Comfy bed.
Review 128:Good experience, but I would have felt more comfortable with an additional lock (deadbolt or chain, even) on the door, as a solo female traveler.
Review 129:very nice, quiet room. Enjoyed our stay.
