Reviews for San Joaquin Hotel

Review 1:Room was not cleaned or restocked one day when I didn't hang the "service please" sign on the doorknob.

Review 2:Clean, spacious, comfortable rooms.

Review 3:Never any bad problems here but need to work on breakfast need hot food, even hot oatmeal in a crock pot with brown sugar and raisins on side would be great, some pastries, scrambled eggs

Review 4:We stay here at least twice a month. We love it quite clean with a home like room and living room staff always great

Review 5:Our sliding glass door to balcony did NOT have a handle to open it. Someone did come fix it when I called the front desk to inform them

Review 6:Liked that the bedroom was separate with a door.

Review 7:This place was very nice..great for the price..it was like a little Home away from home. Very rooming, spacious batheroom, lots of closet space. Great experience. I will be staying there again next year eve :)

Review 8:My vehicle, and two others had windows smashed in the Hotel parking lot, two one night and another the next night. Staff took no steps to secure the area, only explaining that they do not accept liability. Weak water pressure in shower, and hot water was barely lukewarm.

Review 9:Allows pets, with additional deposit.

Review 10:We had largest of the remodeled suites, the only room available. Over-priced for the quality. Poorly put together--felt like we were staying in a floor display for cheap furniture. Breakfast was minimal, sugary and all served on styrofoam. Motel is understaffed and staff was under-trained, poorly managed. Coffee in the room was undrinkable. Teensy towels--kept having to ask for more. Operation felt like it was run by a developer, not anyone with knowledge of hospitality.

Review 11:Very close to family we were visiting. Convenient to have breakfast downstairs. Felt safe and clean inside and out. Netflix in the room on large screen for no extra charge. Most of staff were friendly, except the teenage boy who checked us in. Our suite would have made sense for a family of 4.

Review 12:TV internet a little bit hard to unerstand but once it's set its works great

Review 13:Always friendly and clean . the grounds are so beautifully landscaped.

Review 14:The people above us were extremely loud and rude, we had front desk ask them to keep it down and it stopped, but started again once 7am hit.

Review 15:It was great!

Review 16:The room was a suite in a converted apartment building. There was lots of space. The grounds were beautiful even off season. It was pet friendly without an extra charge.

Review 17:One of the gates to the courtyard was broken and would not stay locked. And with the $50.00 pet fee it almost doubled the price of the room.

Review 18:Back patio, courtyard and the size of the room layout with a bedroom hallway and front room and a flat screen TV in both rooms.

Review 19:The walls are very thin. You could hear the people outside when you were in the bathroom or living room. The towels could have been thicker and bit larger. I was disappointed in their towels because the thickness was like a paper-towel. Super thin and not soft either. The towels did not fit around us.

Review 20:The room was very spacious. Linen was clean. Bed was super comfy. Room had no odors or residue odors. Looks like they just remodeled the rooms.

Review 21:paid in full with cash when I checked in, then found out that the desk clerk had put a hold on my checking account for the amount of the entire stay... therefore funds I needed were not available. needs some updating.

Review 22:loved the bed! no unevenness at all. was very clean. coffee in room, lobby and at breakfast area. all staff were pleasant.

Review 23:Had a strange TV setup and staff was not well trained on giving instructions. They need a short written instruction sheet in the room.

Review 24:It is like a small apartment.

Review 25:Tried to check in early, but was not able to. Finally checked in after 9:00pm. No breakfast. Coffee was cold.

Review 26:It was close to the event we attended and clean. Size was more than I expected.

Review 27:No hot water in my room so I had to shower in a different room but I'm sure it's not all the time. They did their best to fix it.

Review 28:The one bedroom suite was big for the price. When traveling with young ones it's nice to have room and separate spaces to move around without paying an arm and a leg

Review 29:The only issue that I had was that during my stay the hotel was in the middle of finishing up renovations and because of that, I didn't have a phone in my room, and because I didn't have a cell phone it was a huge inconvenience. However the manager promised me a discount with my next stay! Thank you

Review 30:This hotel was beautiful inside and out! All of the landscaping, the fruit trees were well maintained. The room was comfortable very clean and color choice of the room was definitely pleasant!

Review 31:Problems with our first room, problems with booking. Breakfast was not very good.

Review 32:Got us in after booking problems, changed our room after disappointment with first room.

Review 33:There was cold air from vents which was good for sleeping, however it started early in the evening; there was no temperature control. Breakfast was good but I would have liked some fruit (fresh or perhaps California raisins for my cereal) and yogurt.

Review 34:Thee were 2 rooms and the suite was very spacious.

Review 35:I will make sure the next time I stay that I am on the first floor and on the west side of the building like I have before, it is much quieter, and you don't hear the traffic on Shaw Ave.

Review 36:Very nice and clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was very nice.

Review 37:Size of the room. Cleanliness of the entire facility. Can't believe how pleased I was of the over all facility. I'm 77 and have stayed at numerous facilities over the years..as a motel this was the BEST!.... Actually, it rates as a Hotel, motel seems demeaning.

Review 38:Our room was on a busy street so traffic woke me up early each morning. But didn't bother the husband. If you're a light sleeper ask for room away from street.

Review 39:Comfortable bed. Lots of room in the suite. Good breakfast in a beautiful setting. Landscaping very nice.

Review 40:For such a nice suite, (and what we paid), you would have thought they would replace the tables/night stands with nice ones with out scratches.

Review 41:Beautiful setup up suite. Very clean.

Review 42:Made issue, needed second tv for bedroom. Bed was not comfortable, towels were size of hand towels for shower towels, very small, thin, and not soft.

Review 43:Location, value for money, small and quaint.free breakfast, and grounds of property, and covered patio.room did have balcony.fact that it was newly remodeled

Review 44:Nothing I didn't like I liked what my money got me every PENNY OF IT

Review 45:It's quiet and all staff are helpful and on time with what I need and when I need

Review 46:Wifi doesn't work in the room and that's really an inconvenience.

Review 47:An excellent and really cheap option if you wanna visit Yosemite's park. The swimming pool and spa are amazing specially after a day in Yosemite.

Review 48:No bad experiences caused by the hotel itself

Review 49:From UK been staying last 2 weeks in various hotels. This is the best so far. It's basically an apartment in a nice area with restaurants and shops. Prices are very affordable. If you are staying Fresno this is very very good

Review 50:One of the rooms had glass slivers in the carpet and little critters. We were moved to another room the next day. Very cold pool. needed silverware in kitchen.

Review 51:The rooms are large and the beds are really comfortable.

Review 52:Breakfast should have few more options like Egg/meat. They have only bread, bagel & Waffle + milk and etc. Only one option of fruit (apple).

Review 53:Nice & clean suite rooms, spacious. Nice amenities. Good staff. Excellent value for money. Will stay again if I visit this place.

Review 54:The central air conditioning in our room was not working so they gave is a big suite beautifully decorated with a view of the pool, it also had a balcony, The continental breakfast had fresh Belgian waffles, coffee, juice, toast, bagles and muffins and a large sunroom dinning area, very clean, we were very pleased with the weekend rate, definitely would stay there again, it's recently remodeled and had a very large HD tv,swimming till 10pm and sauna, they also had floating tubes for kids, super friendly staff, overall I loved it.

Review 55:Bed bugs..ac didnt work.. No security.. Loud partiers..ceiling fam didntwork.. Pool dirty.. Jacuzzi tub jets didn't work, and tub dirty. Bedbugs .. hard matresses.. Roaches in bathroom.. Remote for tv broken ..tvgard to manage

Review 56:Fountains

Review 57:They only give you two towels and there very thin, the room smelled horrible, the gym all the items were broken, there was no towels in the pool are in case you want to get in the pool. The bathroom they give you toilet paper that is almost out , the service person was extremely rude to me and my husband when we asked questions. The TV didn't work at all, the sheets were horrible and it was very hot. Don't stay here.. Its not worth it..

Review 58:Nothing.. They didn't even have room service or a phone in the room. Thats scary especially if you need assistance.

Review 59:Multiple experiences with the front desk personelle not communicatingwith one another. Payment appeared to be outstanding when I paid withcash (2x). Rat running along hallway. Rear parking lot gate is unsecure(requires key but opens without one). Chairs/couches ripped andabundantly stained. No balcony. Room not cleaned every day.

Review 60:Cost. Location. Room size. Cable tv (x2).

Review 61:We would have given the hotel a higher rating, however we were initially checked into a room that wasn't remodeled and it was bad enough for us to ask for another room.

Review 62:The well kept landscape and architectural touches, plus the spacious rooms. The newly remodeled rooms belie the property surroundings. As the management continues with their remodeling of all the rooms, the ratings will be much higher.

Review 63:The bed sunk in the middle The door needed painting Closet area very dark

Review 64:Loved the decor Loved the outdoor garden seating Parking was great Close to Fig Garden shopping and restaurants

Review 65:More lightening on the back area. The refrigerator was dirty. Thicker tows.

Review 66:Arrived at 11pm and she greeted me with such a smile and so sweet. I called her twice from the room with questions and she was just as sweet each time. The room was nice & the bed super comfy.

Review 67:There were only two things..and I'm not sure the property could do anything about either; a)the driveway exiting the property is easy to bottom out the car, b) due to the drought, ants were out looking for water.

Review 68:This is a small complex, so it is quiet. It's in an area where you feel safe, and it is easy to get to where you need to go. The kitchen is great...it is like an apartment really. My brothers and sisters and I haven't lived in town for a long time and our parents are both gone. When we make a trip home, we all stay at the San Joaquin.

Review 69:Parking wa scary, bed sucked you in like if it had no more springs to it, only gave you two pillows for a king size bed, location was near by run down houses, no hair dryer for my wife, there was no towels in restrooms. I had to walk to the front desk and ask for towels. There was a lot of unpleasant looking people hanging around. There was a suspicious guy romming the parking lot at 1am with a low rider car. The security gate did not even lock.

Review 70:The facility was run down. I felt like I was in danger the hole time there. I could have not wait to get out of there. I want a refund for miss leading me to think that's this was a nice hotel.

Review 71:INTERNET is ver slow, unstable, NETFLEX is slow due to internet... Please upgrade internet. Breakfast hour is too short...

Review 72:Room is big, netflex is free

Review 73:The check out made me miss my plane cost me 200 for another flight and breakfast not worth the stay. I had stayed at this place 6 years ago but half the hotel was not available towels were basically hand towels even for the pool

Review 74:Pool

Review 75:The towels were no more than a paper towel. We reserved a room with wood floors due to allergies and got a room with carpet and nothing more than nothing I can due at check in and check out. No utensils in the kitchen to use or pots or pans. Horrible horrible horrible

Review 76:I enjoyed having desperate bedrooms. The appliances were new.

Review 77:The warm water did not work in the bath/shower. The towels were small and very thin and there were only two towels provided. The parking was tricky and difficult (spaces were small and the angles were tight). The TV was difficult to work/very technical. I would not re-book!

Review 78:I liked the location.

Review 79:Room was 70's. I felt unclean in the room. Toilet leaked on the floor. Carpet and walls were enough of an indicator to turn around and leave. Sheets paper thin.

Review 80:Facilities, landscape well maintained. Location is X'llnt. My primary complaint was the room. It needs gutting and completely redone

Review 81:The room pictured online was freshly remodeled. The room I received had dirty carpet, worn furniture, and a television that escaped from the 1980s. I was disappointed about this.

Review 82:This property was located in a quiet neighborhood in an upscale neighborhood in Fresno. The outdoor garden areas of the hotel were quite nice.

Review 83:It was raining and we would have liked to have sat outside in our patio area to enjoy the rain but there was no oning so the chairs were all wet.

Review 84:We got the deluxe suite this time. It was cute and cozy, well decorated and the bed was unbelievably comfortable. We liked the flat screen tv's in both the sitting area and the bedroom.

Review 85:The wi-fi was a little weak and slow. The coffee was weak, too. The elevator would yell at us (sound an alarm) every time we used it.

Review 86:The ambience of the courtyard is wonderful. The suites are clean and with modern amenities. Great location near Fig Garden.

Review 87:This place is crazy. The outside looks like a luxurious boutique hotel, but the rooms looks like they haven't been . renovated (or washed) since the 60's The antique TV is something I have only seen in old movies

Review 88:The garden and public places are clean and preety

Review 89:Facilities in need of renovation (which is underway in other sections). For instance, electrical receptacles almost unusable.

Review 90:Facilities very clean, spacious and quiet.

Review 91:fortunately we were able to stay there because of the credit card issue

Review 92:I can say I really do like much about the place was pretty dirty and employees were very helpfulI can't say I like much

Review 93:Seemed some of the room was an afterthought when upgrading was done. Towels were way to small for average person. Would like to have had a little bigger closet. Not much of a selection for breakfast but great staff instead. There was not a business center which today is disappointing since the WiFi signal was very weak in our room.

Review 94:This was a little piece of heaven in the heart of the central valley. It wad nice having a seperate sitting area in the room so the other person could sleep. We had a ground floor which had a patio and small grass area to enjoy the evening and mornings. The wayer features were relaxing to listen to and easily take you away from it all. The pool and spa were relaxing and well accommodating for any to enjoy the patio furniture.

Review 95:I did not like that it wasn't updated. The television was difficult to operate the beds are hard and there was no outlet next to the coffee pot so I had to brew the coffee on the floor because that's where the outlet was. And one of our keys stopped working

Review 96:I felt safe in the location. It was quiet very clean and a large space for the amount of money you pay. The staff are extremely helpful and very nice and informative. I spoke with Michael when I had to leave early and he was so patient and nice and more than willing to answer any question I had.

Review 97:We looked at about 15 of the 20 pictures featured. What we didn't realize is that we would end up with a budget room from the 70's. After looking over the pictures again the last two pictures showed the rooms we got that I wouldn't wish on my most hated enemy. Mouse holes in the wall, stale smoke and cat smell, windows that didn't quite close, carpet I wouldn't touch with anything but shoes, bed that was so old it was just rotten covered springs, TV's that were popular in the 60's, and a bathroom so moldy and outdated that I couldn't bring myself to use. We brought in our camping equipment to sleep in and left at 4:30am. A very "shudder worthy" unit. I felt deceived by all the updated, modern looking picture of gorgeous rooms and thought we were getting an amazing deal. In this case, it was a true "read the fine print" lesson. We should've listened to our gps when she said turn around. But we booked online and it was non refundable.

Review 98:The grounds were gorgeous with lots of beautiful vignettes for sitting and contemplating. Water features everywhere. Beautiful pool area and workout facitilities.

Review 99:Ants in the room/bed No TV in bed area and too uncomfortable couches to watch TV in Living area. Lamps in bedroom did not work unless overhead light was on. Bathroom outlet did not work. TV was too hard to figure out how to operate. Continental Breakfast was poor! Coffee with no cups, cereal with no bowls. No pastries. Room had a musky smell to it.

Review 100:Comfy Bed, quiet, but need more updates.

Review 101:The beds are great in the suites and when I have had any issues I have always been accommodated with either an upgrade if the problem can't be fixed or a discount on another room. I always prefer this wonderful place over any place in Fresno. Usually stay once a month or so and will continue to do so

Review 102:The room I was originally given was totally unexceptable , old , ugly, so outdated ! I have not seen a TV that old for years! I can't believe you would book this for anyone. I did go back to the front desk telling my concerns and they did upgrade me at no extra charge. I was here at least 5 years ago and you were upgrading then. I thought you would be done by now.

Review 103:I loved the upgraded room I was given after I complained. It was very comfortable and decorated very nicely. I loved having the gardens right outside my door. This was a very pleasant visit. I travel for business and would love to stay again but not sure my work would pay the upgraded price. Loved the dog friendly atmosphere .

Review 104:The room we stayed in on the 3rd floor needs complete renovation. The carpets as well as the furniture are old and look dirty.

Review 105:Nice territory with a pool and flowers, large room, nice breakfast area and lobby. A lot of parking space. Helpful staff.

Review 106:They do not have a hotel directory in their rooms to educate guests on the hotel and its services.

Review 107:I like the hotel and it's layout. The suites are nice but in need of an upgrade. Excellent staff and continental breakfast ! I hope to stay there again !!

Review 108:Wifi connection couldn't be sustained.

Review 109:Proximity to the freeway, having driven from Las Vegas and needing an early start to Yosemite was appreciated. Friendly, helpful staff and 7.00am self service breakfast after a quiet and comfortable night's sleep in a recently renovated suite was great. Swimming pool looked very inviting. Carpark was safe and convenient.

Review 110:There wasn't nothing I didn't like at this place!!!!

Review 111:Beautifully landscaped and scenic grounds and very serine. Water fountains thru out the the hotel. Pool area was awesome!!!! Staff was super friendly, courteous and very professional!!! Breakfast was included in my package and it was best lots to choose from!!! Over all this place gives u a lil more then you thot you were getting... You will love it there!!!!

Review 112:Not your typical hotel in Fresno. I will be staying here from now on, when in the Fresno area.

Review 113:Furniture needs updating

Review 114:Very spacious suit especially when traveling with large family.

Review 115:Having to ask for more towels there should have been enough for 2 people.

Review 116:N/A

Review 117:I didn't expect the room will be quite big with a comfortable living room and separated bedroom. Also, it's very clean.

Review 118:No phone in the room.

Review 119:The room was very roomy and comfortable.

Review 120:Perfect.

Review 121:Minimal breakfast

Review 122:Nice rooms

Review 123:Perfect place for a vacation stay at a budget

Review 124:Clean, large suite. Very quiet

Review 125:Very comfortable and clean.

Review 126:The TV we just couldn't watch regular shows or anything

Review 127:The place was beautiful

Review 128:Staff a little rude only in the am

Review 129:New remodeled rooms with modern updates and spacious rooms.

Review 130:No wifi. No dishes in kitchen. Loud street noise

Review 131:Spacious

Review 132:None really.

Review 133:Apartment. A big one too. Great facilities, outdoor pool included (too bad for November :)) Outstanding value for the money.

Review 134:Staff resolved a room issue at check in very efficiently.

Review 135:It was Fresno.....

Review 136:Everything exceeded my expectations.
