Reviews for Sequoia Inn Redwood City

Review 1:The walls are thin so you can hear TV and talking from below and next door. Traffic from the street can be heard.

Review 2:This is a very basic hotel.. if you have to be somewhere early and do not want to deal with the bay area traffic this is the place to stay. The bed is really comfortable. The TV works and so does the heating. Ask for a room in the back away from the street. Cal train runs late at night and early morning so you will hear the train horns.

Review 3:Place is dingy, dodgy and the vibe is heavy. Rooms are dirty, housekeeping didn't even bother with my room.

Review 4:Bed is extremely comfortable. Cheapest inn around.

Review 5:Smashed one roach. No breakfast or coffee. More attention to cleanliness is needed, e.g., mildew on shower curtain, cobwebs near mirror. Thin walls and creaky floors.

Review 6:Nice color scheme in the rooms, nice furniture, large mini fridge and microwave. Cheapest price around for that many amenities. But still not cheap by other cities' standards. Staff were friendly.

Review 7:If you are desperate in finding a motel in the Silicon Valley because aMontreous Google conference is taking place. This is probably the hotelyou will end up staying at if there is any one room left. The price isas outrageous as the quality is low, The hotel provides a bare minimumservice and is located is the noisiest place in Red Oaks: The hotel isacross a Cal train station and at the intersection of two very busyboulevards. The staff is plain and will not go overboard to answer yourquestions. A definitely overprice and low quality hotel in my experience

Review 8:The wifi and the parking is included

Review 9:There were people talked loud outside until 1 or 2 am in two consecutive nights. There should have been staff coming out to regulate them back to their rooms.

Review 10:Facility is good.

Review 11:The free wifi and cable TV can be considered a false advertisement because I was not able to open a single web page and TV had only one channel.

Review 12:The place was clean

Review 13:No coffee maker or iron. Afternoon street noise.

Review 14:Close to Caltrain station. Car rental and Starbucks Coffee just across street. Fridge with big icebox, microwave. Quiet at night.

Review 15:Surly owner, very loud location (Caltrain comes by at top speed every 5 minutes or so), stained bedspread; felt like an episode of "Breaking Bad"

Review 16:The close proximity to Sequoia Hospital but since we checked in and checked right back out, it was a moot point

Review 17:One of the towels was dirty. Cigarette but smudges in the bathroom...a nonsmoking room. The guy at the front desk tried to over charge me a few bucks.

Review 18:Room was filthy. There was enough of someone's hair in the bathroom to start a bird's nest. Dried old blood stains on the pillows. There are holes in the walls, peeling paint. Sleeping in your car would be cleaner, quieter and healthier.

Review 19:super clean and updated, large room and very large bathroom with tub, huge mirror and lighting is great, free internet, fridge, microwave, HBO, very nice

Review 20:I didn't like the check in process I didn't like dealing with a lady checked me in and I didn't like sleeping in the dirty room

Review 21:there was nothing I liked at all its gross disgusting there unfair their place sucks

Review 22:It's a block from the railroad where trains run every 5-15 minutes. There is no parking for tall vehicles and no parking on the street. I had to call the manager to ask him to call the police to break up a fight in the next room.

Review 23:It was available when little else was.

Review 24:Fan in bathroom excessively loud, but it worked!

Review 25:People runnung place excellent & helpful. Wi fi & cable tv nice. Refrigerator hekpful. Clean bedding. Clean fresh smelling room.

Review 26:To start with... the guy at the front desk was rude. The moment I entered I noticed how cramped the room was. I didn't see much more of the room because as soon as I noticed semen stains all over the comforter I went and got my money for the room back and went elsewhere.

Review 27:The only thing I liked was the cheap price for a room.

Review 28:The guy at front desk said no vacancy when i called. So i booked online. Got there & he said he was trying to take a nap. He rushed me out of the room next day. Rude! There were pubic hair in the shower from previous user. Hair dryer died 2 min of use

Review 29:The colors in the room. Has fridge and microwave. Comfy bed.

Review 30:The bed was very uncomfortable as it felt like a queen mattress on a double bed frane. The shower was brutal as needed a new nozzel. It felt like a small stream pressure hose beating on you. Could hear other guests in next rooms.

Review 31:Floor dirty needs cleaning, comforter dirty, drity bathtub, remote TV didn't work missing battery cover, and noisy at night. Will never stay again

Review 32:I wasn't expecting much. TV was old and couldn't turn it on with the remote. I could ignore the rest because I just needed a 1 night stay. You don't want to spend several nights here if you spend more time in the room.

Review 33:Under $100 ($99.xx) Quiet. Pillow better than $164 Plaza Suites in Santa Clara. Close enough to airport (13miles) Room was clean.

Review 34:People were making lots of noise in the parking lot and in the rooms. Because of the location, a train would come by just as you were about to fall asleep and wake you up. I got very little sleep here.

Review 35:The room was clean. The staff was friendly.

Review 36:The carpet is dirty and you can hear every noise of other rooms. So if you need to stay there because of the price, like us, here are some tips: ask for a second floor room, don't walk arround without shoes and you will be fine. The bathroom that is the most important is clean!

Review 37:It's a nice motel and lowest price in Palo Alto's area.

Review 38:Improvement with staff and nightly rates fluctuates like heck sometimes.

Review 39:Basically you get what you paid for. Decent motel room, everything you need to have for the night.

Review 40:I have nothing bad to say about this hotel and will definitely stay again

Review 41:Everything about this hotel! Especially the Bed, it was one of the most comfortable beds I have slept in.

Review 42:The staff wasn't in the office and didn't hear me calling from the from desk so I had to call on the phone to get someone to come to check me in. They didn't really speak English so it was very difficult to check in. The room was okay but needed a lot of work, patched holes in the bathroom that weren't painting, old toilet seat that was gross, alarm clock that was making such noises that I finally had to unplug in the middle of the night.

Review 43:The price was right

Review 44:Clean and comfortable rooms.

Review 45:No coffee maker

Review 46:Micro/fridge

Review 47:Horrible owners/management, bad location, terrible facilities. Avoid

Review 48:Leaving

Review 49:Staff is rude. I was trying to check in and Got yelled at for knocking on doorbecause they didn't answer buzzer

Review 50:Location

Review 53:. The room smelled of urine. Disgusting.

Review 60:It is on a busy road with a train rail next to it. Very noisy. Not very clean either.

Review 62:No breakfast, toilet clogged to easily, and the floor was Swollen by the door and the door was hard to close

Review 63:The bed was very comfortable

Review 64:The place was a dump

Review 65:This is an economical place to stay that is located in a good area. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Superior to Motel 6, no question about it.

Review 66:Very bad staf

Review 67:I could hear the noise of others rooms

Review 68:I like the bed so much

Review 69:Too noisy, trains running all day and night. Thin walls did not block sounds of train horns or other guests.

Review 70:I was safe.

Review 71:Shabby/worn out electric wall socket outlets.,.. inspection/technical maintenance,...

Review 72:The colors,..

Review 73:Bad smal

Review 74:No breakfast, room was musty, bed barely made, and bathtub was not clean.

Review 75:Had free parking

Review 79:Friendliness of the owner. Location close to Stanford where our student goes. Comfortable room which was home to us for five nights!

Review 103:Clean and easy parking.

Review 104:needs updating

Review 105:Staff

Review 106:Staff is great!

Review 107:Outside looked bad In need of TLC Looked bad

Review 108:Clean room Location Cost in general

Review 109:great !!!!!

Review 110:definitely run down, suggestion: renovation beats decoration, just management did not find out yet

Review 111:A little noise from Caltrain, which is about a block away. Might need earplugs if you're a light sleeper. This is the ONLY negative to this property.

Review 112:Good value, nice staff, nice rooms. Much much better than Motel 6 but the price is similar. This is a small, cozy place.

Review 113:Could not get the TV to work. I had checked in very late, and did not want to wake the clerk, so did not have TV to watch.

Review 114:Nice & tidy room for the money.

Review 115:Water too slow and no plug in the sink, shower was great!

Review 116:Apart from having no plug in the sink and the water conservation restricting flow to about a gallon an hour, I enjoyed my stay. A noisy area, main road and a train every few minutes didn't cause any stress at all. The staff were 4days old and they took a little longer than usual, but we were all new once!! I would recommend to my family and friends..

Review 117:My husband, who came with me, started getting a fever that evening. I called the hotel manager to ask them if he could sleep in until I was able to return from my meeting to pick him up. It was an hour over the check out time. The gentleman that I spoke with on the phone said he could stay until 12:30. Then I get a text from my husband that they're kicking him out at 11:00. I then spoke with the lady at the desk and she said, the policy is blah blah blah. I asked to speak to the gentleman again. He was put on the phone but totally denied what he said earlier. I had to leave my meeting early to come get him. I'm sorry but this place will not receive any more business from me.

Review 118:Location was convenient to my meeting place that I needed to get to that morning.

Review 119:Perhaps, it's time to update your television sets because they got the cable part down.

Review 120:I usually stay here whenever the rate is low but usually on the weekends they have it like $100 a night. Whenever I check when they're down to at least $60, it's definitely worth staying. The ambiance of the room is nice and the basic needs you need in a motel room is available.

Review 121:Wifi was extremely poor around room 211. If you want to use wifi, ask room close to the office. Management was not able to admit that their wifi does not work in the area where my room was (they did not even come to check!). Biggest minus goes to the motel management.

Review 122:Good budget accommodation.

Review 123:Walls too thin. Could hear the TV below us. Could also hear a couple having fun below our room...the bed was banging against the wall.

Review 124:Pricing was very good

Review 125:I was charged for a night that I didn't stay...Went two days with out hot water...and the first day with out water for most of it...Last night the people next to me cranked their music until 4am...Walls are thin...

Review 126:The Owners were Nice and it is easy to get to and close to a lot of shops...I would say if one is spending a night or two this would be an okay place to stay...Housekeeping was very nice as well...

Review 127:bed sheets were dirty(pornographic reason). This place is frequented by call girls and guys who drop their shorts for mooning guests. they didn't believe the sheets were bad until they were shown to the staff.

Review 128:almost nothing was even close to acceptable.
