Reviews for Shasta Starr Ranch Bed & Breakfast

Review 1:The staff was wonderful making our room and stay cozy. We were rained out of skiing and snowboarding at Mount Shasta, so they gave us a credit for the second night to come back.

Review 2:epic good breakfast. everything home made, locally sourced, well seasoned. Loved that they served breakfast... no scary steam tables here! nice wee nature trails behind the property HUGE room and bathroom!

Review 3:Cannot sleep because heating is inadequate; portable heater created a lot of noise. Hot water was on and off. The plumbing is too old and the water control knob fell off. The 70+ old building needs overhaul.

Review 4:one can see the Shasta mountain

Review 5:The bathroom needed a good scrubbing down- maybe the cleaning crew skipped the shower? The peeling wall paper, linoleum, and drywall just didn't give my wife the ambiance she had hoped for. I heard there are new owners, so hopefully updating will be on the way.

Review 6:View of Mt. Shasta! We come here to hike, ski/snowshoe, backpack etc. and this location gave us a spectacular view of our favorite mountain. I also liked that we could stay for just one night- there wasn't a two- night requirement- which would not have worked out for us.

Review 7:Security lock on room inoperative, blinds locked in open position, coaxial cable hanging down from ceiling draped across wall to other side of room, bathroom tiles coming loose, bathroom fan in need of repair, ball and chain type toilet difficult to access, cabinet vanity door fell off when opened, old dried flowers in vases with dirty water, chipped coffee cup, decor in entire building old and stale.

Review 8:We can honestly say there was absolutely nothing to like.

Review 9:The fact that I only booked 2 nights!!

Review 10:First impressions of the ranch were great and just simply got better the longer we stayed. The place is very relaxing with great little extras such as wine and snacks. The staff are great and nothing is a bother to them. We have travelled to many places around the world and have to say this gem is probably the best we have visited.

Review 11:We stayed at the Mt Shasta Ranch Bed and Breakfast on our way to Portland. The location is beautiful and relaxing. The owner is there to please with lots of things for families to enjoy plus a very nice breakfast. We are planning to stay here whenever we can get up this way.

Review 12:We didn't stay long enough!

Review 13:Everything was great! Just a GREAT place. We stayed in the little cottage which was cozy & comfortable. The main house was beautiful, as were the grounds. Everyone was friendly and made you feel at home. Can't wait to go back.

Review 14:Absolutely breathtaking. Beautiful location, home and hosts. The view of Mt. Shasta from the B&B is second to none. Make sure you take advantage of their knowledge of the location. Very accommodating to dietary restrictions.

Review 15:The owners were extremely helpful and considerate. The ranch is beautifully furnished with lots of authentic accessories, rooms are spacious and although refurbished in recent years they still emanate the spirit of the earlier twentieth century.

Review 34:The local eateries in Mt. Shasta can be a challenge if you have specialdietary needs (E.G. gluten and dairy free).

Review 35:Our 3-day stay was wonderful. The inn is both tranquil and provides breath-taking views. Hannah and Bill are congenial, caring and knowledgeablehosts. Our dog was welcomed and he loved romping on the inn grounds andhiking in areas that Bill recommended. A great place to stay. Lookforward to coming back in the springtime.

Review 36:A little hard to find - the way the addresses split up at the 4-way, is a little confusing and the sign to the Ranch is kind of small, we passed right by it and the addresses suddenly changed and went lower, very confusing.

Review 37:Charming place - comfortable, cozy, peaceful and quiet. Loved the cottage we stayed in. The staff were extremely friendly and courteous. We didn't want to eat breakfast in the main house with everyone, so we chose not to go in and eat and one of the staff members came to our cottage and asked if we would like to have our breakfast brought to us! We were surprised by the kind offer. I plan on going back!

Review 43:We rented the 2 BR cottage and it was very comfortable and decorated nicely. The staff was incrediblly friendly and helpful with suggestions and directions. Views from the front porch were breathtakingly beautiful. Breakfast was included and was absolutely delicious. This wasn't just a bowl of cereal or a muffin but a fully cooked meal with coffee and juice. Especially loved the parrot that said praise the Lord.
