Reviews for Lotus Village
Review 1:I thought the owner in particular wasn't genuinely friendly, her smile appeared forced and i had the Impression she was only really interested in the money and not forthcoming with information on the area,,,,lacking interpersonal skills
Review 2:Accommodation is very nice but very expensive! On the down side the walls are very thin so you can hear conversations and nocturnal activities.
Review 3:Mosquito nets over the beds would be great.
Review 4:This is a truly beautiful place and the rooms are big with a little seating area in front of each room. Breakfast was included and it is close to the city centre with easy transport to the historic sites. The owners were very nice and helpful in my experience. I even needed a doctor and the staff helped very fast and professional. I think for the price you pay for this great place it is a really good deal.
Review 5:mosquito, mosquito and mosquito!
Review 6:Location is convenient as it is nearby the market. The place offers relaxing atmotsphere with plenty of trees and bushes.Staff are friendly with attentive service.
Review 7:The room was big but quite "empty": very basic, no closet, the sink was in the shower. Noisy neighbours (we stayed 1 night).
Review 8:Very nice garden in a new age atmosphere. Large and clean room
Review 9:Lack of facilities such as dressing table & mirror, fridge and clothes-rack in the Standard cottage bungalow.
Review 10:Convenient location within walking distance to market area.
Review 11:Not a real minus, but to manage expectations- need to get a bus to get to the sukhotai historic centre.
Review 12:The fan rooms are more comfortable than you might think. We visited in March, and found the night to be perfect with open windows and the fan. Great to be sleeping with the night sounds of the crickets and frogs! All windows and doors have good mosquito netting. Breakfast is also great with some nice homemade things such as jam. It is close to the (night) market to get sowething to eat. Very friendly owner and staff!
Review 13:the standart bungalows are everything but 3 stars! very basic with concrete matress and brickstone pillow, no chair, no closet, no table. Zero noise reduction through paper thin walls. They are cosy and would be okay for half the prize and advertised 1-2- stars. But they are completly inacceptable sold at this price and as 3 stars. The elderly french -Thai couple running the resort is rather unfriendly and doens´t seem to have any hospitality industry background. The entire resort lacks everything middle class usually offers (no pool, no restaurant etc.). For credit card payment they ask for a 3% sucharge without mentioning it on booking.com and then try to make you an idiot by telling this would be "normal" in Thailand (which is complete nonesene).
Review 14:good location - quiet and close to downtown, cozy atmosphere, okay breakfast, well working aircon, quick and good laundry service
Review 15:The walls are thin, you can here your neighbours (only applies to standard rooms) even if they are talking normally
Review 16:The green garden and the singing birds the nice and spatious teak room the clean smell of the towels the breakfast, toast, eggs, jam, juice. simple but tasty the mosquito nets on each window
Review 17:Bed was verry hard.
Review 18:Lotus Village is very good located. You can walk to the market in a few minutes. The busstation to old sukothai is also not far. We stayed in a basic bungalow wich was ok. It's a bit small but micevand clean. breakfast was ok. The owner are really friedly.
Review 19:No safe in room, no tv in room but didn't need it.
Review 20:Kindness of the staff, spacious rooms, family enviroment, good aircon and ceiling fan, parking, free water as everywhere else. No worries to come back.
Review 21:A fantastic guesthouse we (a dutch couple) visit in october 2014. We slept in a beautiful teakhouse room with a very good atmosphere. The hostess spoke easy french and english. Hight quality with a very low price. And indeed lotus flowers in a pool. Compliments
Review 22:Bathroom was a bit basic (example: no shower curtain), but clean though. The room didn't have a safe or locker. Next time I would go for a room with airco, since the room with a fan was quite warm at night.
Review 23:Lotus Village consists of several wooden houses, surrounded by many trees and plants. It makes you feel like you're in nature, although the b&b is actually walking distance from the city center. The staff speaks English and gave us several good tips on where to go and what to do. The room was perfectly clean.
Review 24:At nights, many small insects come into the rooms, and you can see house lizards outside on the screen windows. hotel staff requested me not to flush toilet paper. She requested me put it into the box beside toilet bowl.
Review 25:It is very natural cottage, and close to new city center.
Review 26:my room & a poor brakfast
Review 27:Local PA system wakes everybody up at 6:00 am each morning - very irritating - but hey, it's Sukhothai ..!
Review 28:Breakfast and staff was so great..!
Review 29:Beautifully set in the garden! Friendly staff! Good location! Good value
Review 30:Friendly staff +++ Very Nice place to stay! Definitely how Thailand should be!
Review 31:The owner are not very friendly.
Review 32:nothing
Review 33:very nice, spacious and clean rooms, nice lay out of resort, pleasant and knowledgable staff, very good value for money
Review 34:Nice breakfast We got upgraded to a nice family cabin
Review 35:A fab setting and traditional accomodation style close to town.
Review 36:No aircondition
Review 37:Bed was a bit hard to sleep
Review 38:Friendly staff and helpfull Very quiet and lovely place to be
Review 39:Very helpful and polite staff, great location and value for money. Would definitely recommend.
Review 40:Great clean cottages set amongst trees and greenery. Short walk to shops. Friendly staff.
Review 41:Lovely and helpful owners! Beautiful spot! Modest but nice room. Good breakfast. I loved that place!
Review 42:- nothing
Review 43:- everything - friendly staff - nice, clean and large rooms
Review 44:After 9pm there is nobody in the reception
Review 45:They let us used the shower even though we checked out after visiting the old town
Review 46:Breakfast ok, but you have to pay extra if you need some more...
Review 47:Only bad thing was that we didn't stay long enough to get one of the spa treatments (Thai massages are the best!)
Review 48:The hotel is really cozy. The common area, with the lotus pond and all the threes, is really beautiful and relaxing. We only stayed there for one night, and it was the perfect way to start the beginning of our trip through Northern Thailand. The staff was as friendly as they can be, as it is usual to find in Northern Thailand. Even if there was a language barrier, everyone was so helpful and made everything they could to help us (including warning us that we had booked the room without air conditioner when we arrived, and it was around 30 degrees at 8pm...). Tai, our host, even called our bike tour to pick us up in the following morning. Breakfast was also really good - first I felt it wasn't enough to start a full day cycling, but it is. Just gives you enough energy to go until lunch cycling in the 40 degrees heat of mid-April.
Review 49:They offer probably the most expensive massage in Thailand (and trips too), noisy fan, poor breakfast - 2 toasts, half a slice of ham, eggs an tiny glass of juice
Review 50:Nice bungalows an garden, friendly and well-informed staff, spacious room,
Review 51:Small signs for the hotel to find despite of having GPS. Told the owner to arrange for a larger sign and clear the three branches to see the sign board.
Review 52:It is basically also at least for us a stopover hotel to Chiangmai! It is a nice boutique style hotel; nice thai style rooms, simple but suitable!
Review 53:The Thai female owner was brusque and snooty. Her French husband managed to drift around ghostlike for three days without once acknowledging our existence. When I encountered other staff members, they stared at me blankly like sheep in a NZ field. At least they didn't bleat. And for this price, I think the rooms should have TVs.
Review 54:A very leafy and quiet setting with a nice spot to eat breakfast which included great coffee.
Review 55:You need to make sure you arrive before 9pm at night as the reception closes
Review 56:We loved our stay here, even if only for one night it was a beautiful location with a nice area to chill in which we made the most of in the morning. The breakfast was lovely and staff really nice. The room was perfect for our needs, simple and clean.
Review 57:There is no plug in the bathroom which is a problem if you need to blow dry your hair. Also getting your luggage down the driveway is a mess unless you have the staff help you. We got the mani pedi, cheap enough but really they just file and paint your nails not a traditional mani pedi.
Review 58:Really pretty place...many of the buildings are in stilts above lotus ponds and the garden is lovely. Very relaxing atmosphere and helpful staff. They have fresh jam and DELICIOUS banana pancakes!
Review 59:are not flexible with breakfast when you are allergic to something
Review 60:staff was friendly, just a few minutes walking to get to town, location is very quiet, clean and green
Review 61:Impossible to stay inside the bedroom during daytime - sauna!!! Slow fan... No AC
Review 62:Very scénic and peaceful Contact with nature Delicious breakfast Close to town, 15 min walk to the transport to old Sukhothai
Review 63:This was a lovely little family run place that had great bungalows that were well equipped and comfortable. Breakfast was fresh and home made and the staff went out of their way to help you.
Review 64:1. creditcard has a 3% surcharge. Not that I mind, just as a reminder for other. This is the first I came across in Thailand 2. food quantity is a bit small. If you are hungry, you'll need second for sure
Review 65:1. the hotel is beautifully designed and maintained. You can see that there is much attention to detail 2. breakfast was really cute and with lots pretty little jars and special sauces. Very unique
Review 66:Dark room but most of all the staff.. Really not friendly! We asked if it was possible to see another room maybe a little bit lighter and the reply was 'since you booked with booking that's it, the room is the cheaper' Also, we arrived with the night bus so we were there at 6 am. The room (of course) was not ready but instead if leaving us to go to the ruins leaving just the baggages they asked to pay immediately for the room... So the place is not bad but the feeling is absolutely not positive at all! Rooms overall small and many spider nests outside the mosquito nets but clearly visible (so not nice t all)
Review 67:Good location, nice garden
Review 68:its the one of the best accommodation experience i've had so far. Hotel staffs are very freindly, room is large and cozy, thai-style garden is beautiful, home made yogurt and panpake is tasty. i would recommend to all which seek a time of leisure and relaxation
Review 69:Not having a Thai option for breakfast was a little disappointing, butthe Western style breakfasts are excellent (see my comments on thePomelo compote) take Thai sized plugs if you can, travel adapters donot fit their 2 very close together sockets and are too heavy for themto handle.
Review 70:Adored the location and tranquility, the ponds, bats and frogs and theambience, the room was spotless and beautifully but simply furnished.Lots to do in Sukhothai, the services I used at the guesthouse were allexecuted well and it was superb value for money. The pomelo conservewith the breakfast is unique and very moreish!
Review 71:There were lots of mosquitos around the area - not many in our chalet, but perhaps it would be an idea to have fitted mosquito nets for peopleto use if they choose?
Review 72:The chalets were great - clean with comfortable beds, and breakfast wasdelicious too. The staff were wonderful and very helpful. The locationcouldn't be better either, with a great market nearby, and easyaccess to the bus stop for old Sukhothai.
Review 73:It is terribly over priced. We felt like we had to always be asking for thing, like soap, toilet paper...etc, The breakfast was very skimpy. The beds were extremely hard and uncomfortable. The was a lot of bugs out in the garden, due to all the water features.
Review 74:Has a very pretty garden and nice little restaurant
Review 75:The grounds are beautiful! A little pond and tons of trees and flowers,it truly felt like a little oasis in the middle of the city. Lovelybreakfast (included for free with stay)
Review 76:Cabins needed more light at night. Place was very noisy all afternoon due to a party, or as the staff said, a meeting, which must have lasted five hours. Quiet at night.
Review 77:Quaint little cabins on attractive grounds. Helpful and friendly staff who were very well organized. Breakfast was good
Review 78:Really poor breakfeast, we didn't know what was included in roomprice, finally it was ok
Review 79:Really great houses, take with air condition, but our friend had fan andit was ok. Stuff nice give basic info about sukhotai how to get thereetc. It is really nice localization
Review 80:The warm welcome and the attention to detail in all aspects. On a twomonth grand tour of se Asia, our stay at the hotel stands out as amongthe highlights!
Review 81:Breakfast was really light...
Review 82:Great greenery, a really charming garden, good protection against mosquitoes.
Review 83:Privet area and nice staff perfect ! Thank you
Review 84:Pricy
Review 85:Very cosy. your own room surrounded by a lot of plants, flowers, ...
Review 86:Could be a bit basic for some people. The frogs are noisy at night!
Review 87:Simple hotel, nice setting, easy walk to centre of town
Review 88:Beds a little hard but we slept fine.
Review 89:It is a little oasis in the middle of a busy market area.
Review 90:mosquitos
Review 91:the staff and location were excellant breakfast was supurb
Review 92:nice garden setting around cottages; friendly staff
Review 93:Overpriced shuttle to the airport
Review 94:Very nice - in Thai style equiped rooms even the cheapest category wasstylish and comfortable
Review 95:Superb oasis!
Review 96:the breakfast unvariable, always the same one!
Review 97:the location is very convenient and the rooms are large and clean while the price is acceptable!
Review 98:A little basic, but not a big deal for the money.
Review 99:Beautiful grounds secluded in the middle of town. Made you feel like you were somewhere else.
Review 100:The staff was very friendly. Breakfast with homemade jam (very good). Direct located in the "New Town Sukhothai" only 5 minutes walk to the market.
