Reviews for Hotel Pirat

Review 1:It was extremely rainy and stormy when we stayed, and so we didn't get to try out the pools. We were in a building on the other side of the road to all of the facilities (breakfast, hamam, pool etc) and when the rain was particularly heavy this road flooded! Breakfast was average, lots of choice but nothing amazing.

Review 2:The hotel was clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly and free parking was a bonus. The location was great and lovely views of the harbour from our balcony. It's right in the old town so a short walk to all the restaurants and shops - we had fantastic food at The Small House, and enjoyed cocktails at Gusto and Rosemary on the sea front. We went to the Hamam in the hotel and it was certainly an experience, though don't expect a relaxing spa!

Review 3:Beds were very hard and the breakfast was very limited. The buffet dinner wasn't very desirable either. I wouldn't stay half board or B&B again - go for a room only option as there are lots of great restaurants near by for breakfast lunch and dinner.

Review 4:Really friendly and helpful staff, perfect location and beautiful views if staying in the poolside part of the hotel

Review 5:Unfortunately Kalkan had had a restaurant fire towards the end of lastyear, however the work to sort this blot on the landscape did not startuntil the week before the season truly gets underway. The continuousnoise from the jcb excavators and drilling went on from early morninguntil dusk. Perhaps this should have been completed well before visitorstsarted to arrive. All done now though so don't worry.

Review 6:Stayed for a week on B&B basis. A great receptionist who alwayssmiles. Nothing is a problem. Rooms newly decorated. The food at everyrestaurant we visited in Kalkan was excellent, but the stand out mealswere at the Samphire restaurant. Black and Gold Bar and Restaurant is amust for every visitor to Kalkan...A Great atmosphere, great drinks andyou even get to learn a bit of Turkish....Superb.

Review 7:The room was as small as it could be, though with the best view in town. The bathroom was tiny and very "tired", and the bed was as hard as a slab. Breakfast was bread and jam, with yoghurt if they had any.But it was cheap!

Review 8:The location, and the fact that it was open in early-March. The staff were friendly and warm.

Review 9:Rooms a bit dated and tired with mega hard beds which didn't bode well for a decent nights sleep. Local fresh fruit would have been nice as option for healthier breakfast

Review 10:Best spot in town with amazing view - breakfast overlooking harbour. End of season so no problems with noise. Staff eager and helpful rooms clean altho in need of an update. Can't complain as good value

Review 11:Strong worded signs in the room about bringing your own water into the hotel. I understand about bringing your own food in but not allowing guests to buy thier own water is very unhelpful & unfair considering it is unsafe to drink their tap water.

Review 12:Location is perfect!

Review 13:No lift - so lots of steps.... Food - leaves a lot to be desired. Although breakfast was included in our tariff, we went out to eat. No late check out.

Review 14:The position of the hotel, which is excellent, great views. Staff - friendly and attentive Rooms adequate and clean Clean pools lots of sunbeds. Bar staff - excellent, friendly and entertaining.

Review 15:Pool bar service rather slow and buffet breakfast the same everyday with only one hot dish.

Review 16:Excellent location and clean, comfortable room with fantastic view. Staff generally helpful.

Review 17:When we first arrived they put us in a room directly opposite a very noisy bar. The staff told us not to worry the music would stop at 2am ! It actually stopped at 5am - No sleep. We complained and they moved us to a quieter room for the second night. Breakfast is awful - self service and big queues for poor quality basic food. Pool sunbeds are booked by people coming down at the crack of dawn and leaving towels on them and then not actually using them. I complained about this but staff not interested. Poor hotel and we wont be coming back.

Review 18:Close to Harbour

Review 19:This hotel has one of the best location in town. Very good breakfast and Nice staff. The pool area is clean and Nice. We have à beautiful wiew from the balcony.

Review 20:Breakfast could of been better

Review 21:Location very good the pool

Review 22:Rubbish breakfast

Review 23:Location

Review 24:Location, facilities very clean, staff very attentive.

Review 25:Hotel is ideally situated in the village and is good value for money

Review 26:Wifi kept clicking off

Review 27:Very run down rooms and bathrooms. Needs a refurb.

Review 28:Dinner can be repetitive

Review 29:Attentive staff, safe environment, easy and relaxed atmosphere, leading to an altogether really enjoyable week with my two little girls.

Review 30:small sized rooms and toilets breakfast- below average

Review 31:location - excellent, 3 swimming pools including one for kids, Friendly hotel satffs

Review 32:The shower/bath was dated -- understand this is being addressed.

Review 33:The relaxed atmosphere at the hotel due to frienliness and politeness of all the staff. Special thanks for arranging pick up and return to/from airport. Great pool / bar. Location right next to marina -- perfect. Will return soon.

Review 34:What a position for a hotel, amazing view from my room. Room was basic but spotlessly clean - the only drawback to the stay was the steps every day, but a small price to pay for the view and the situation. Pool area really clean as was the pool. Bar Staff very friendly and the atmosphere was good. I would highly recommend the Hotel.

Review 35:Very very noisy at night as very close to night club which partied until at least 3pm on several nights when I was there. Lots of stairs with inadequate handrails for older people Food was adequate but not as good as other hotels I've stayed in in Turkey of similar standards.

Review 36:Central to harbour, and easy access to the town

Review 37:the music coming from the bars near the harbor. It was very load until 2am.This was not the hotels mistake just Kalkans police not stopping it like all other resorts do.

Review 38:The hotels location is perfect and our room had stunning sea views. The breakfast and evening meals were very good with plenty to choose from. Very nice area for sunbathing and pool bar services very good .Food and drink not over priced and tasty lunch time meals.

Review 39:They definitely need an elevator. Thank God for the bell boy or we would have sat on the roadside with out luggage for the entire stay. we had to climb 16 flights of stairs each way everytime we had to go somewhere. It was very tiring. The room they gave us on arrival had a pathetic view. We had to ask them to change it. Facilities are very old including the air conditioning. i-fi was pathetic. It would just not work most of the time.

Review 40:The location of the hotel is amazing. its right next to the harbor and a three minute walk from the beach. The room that they gave us on the second day had an amazing view. Decent breakfast menu. The staff was very cordial and helped us in getting around the town. They also changed our room on request.

Review 41:The breakfast buffet is Hotel Pirat's weak point. The cordial is sickly sweet, the coffee is from a machine and the boiled eggs are rock hard. There was bread and spreads, some cereals, canned and dried fruit as well as typical Turkish breakfast food like olives, salad and processed meat. Overall it was a very average selection that became tedious after a few days. We dined out for dinners but could see some of the same items appearing for the dinner buffet.

Review 42:We had great harbour views, and the hotel was well located with many restaurants and shops nearby. It is probably the biggest hotel in Kalkan, and has a large pool and sunbathing area with nice views. Hotel Pirat's key drawcard it it's excellent location. It is a nice, comfortable three star hotel and I would recommend it on this basis.
