Reviews for Amber House Bed & Breakfast

Review 1:Nothing.

Review 2:There's Nothing that I would change. This outing was phenomenal. I can't believe that it only has a 9.1 rating. I love breakfast and it was a fantastic breakfast on the porch. 74 degrees, personal service, great food, and myself and my wife.

Review 3:Very friendly staff. Lovely room. Quiet location with really good restaurants in easy walking distance. The breakfast and the coffee each morning were delicious!

Review 4:Would not stay in Bethoven Room again due to proximity with street and old single pane windows. It was noisy at 2am on a Saturday night with revelers walking home. Sounded like they were right outside my windows because they were. Went on for 30 minutes or so and then quiet.

Review 5:The Bethoven Room was spacious, comfortabe and with large bathroom. Staff was friendly and professional. Breakfast croissant was excellent. Excellent location in midtown close to wonderful restaurants, pubs and cafes.

Review 6:WiFi is a little slow and somewhat hard to log into but serviceable.

Review 7:Don and Holly provide a wonderful restful inn that is a total delight. Short walk to great restaurants and close to Old Sacramento and Train Museum.

Review 8:Friendly accommodating staff/owners and the luxurious Jacuzzi bathtub. Delicious Florentine omelette tailored to my desires ar breakfast. An extremely peaceful night's sleep.

Review 9:The only thing I didn't like was that there was a problem with the water heater for my room and I ran out of hot water in the middle of my shower and it never came back. Owner was planning to get it fixed the next day after I left, so hopefully that happened!

Review 10:1. Loved the cozy Christmasy living room with the fire going, the lit up tree, and Christmas music. 2. Loved the level of service and little "extras" provided by the staff. 3. Breakfast was delicious both days!

Review 11:At most B&Bs there is a common room where you have the chance to interact with the owner and/or other guests. Because we were in the yellow house across from the main house we did not have that opportunity to ask about restaurant recommendations, etc...A minor comment would be that the yellow house could have used a better welcoming smell when you enter the house.

Review 12:The room was well appointed and very comfortable. The bathroom was large and clean. The staff was friendly and welcoming especially Carol who brought breakfast each morning. We were within easy walking distance to many restaurants and the capital building.

Review 13:Bed a bit on the small size and rather bouncey. Appreciated having air conditioning but there didn’t seem to be any control in the room and were quite cold in the morning. Very limited choice for breakfast – only hot item happened to be quiche which my wife can’t eat.

Review 14:Lovely house in a quiet area of Sacramento. Friendly staff. Comfortable room (Chaucer). Appreciated having air conditioning Overall breakfast quality was good. Plenty of good restaurants in vicinity for dinner.

Review 15:Air conditioning was marginal and the double bed was small. These two items reduced our comfort at night. There was only one restaurant close to Amber house (1.5 blocks). It was an Indian restaurant, and while we generally like Indian food, we felt this place was below average.

Review 16:Parlor - living room was very pleasant - a nice place to sit and read. (However, it was across the street from our room, so not so convenient). Breakfast was very good.

Review 17:The owner and staff went out of their way to see to my well being and comfort. The breakfasts were outstanding, eating on the porch lovely. The ambiance warm and inviting. Thank you for all that you did for me!

Review 45:They are very nice, friendly and accommodating. Rooms are bit small, best for leisure travel-- staff are nice and will stay there again next trip. Living room area is nice and very quiet and good for meeting visitors :)

Review 46:The immediate location on an alley with an unappealing building across the street. Should put curtains on windows to soften the outside views.

Review 47:The location as to acess to the points of interest in Sacramento.

Review 48:Nothing not to like.

Review 49:Amber House is nothing short of excellent. The staff were very welcoming, friendly and attentive. The rooms are beautifully decorated and equipped, and are in two beautiful buildings. Evening cookies are delicious, early morning coffee much appreciated and the breakfasts are superb. Staying there was such a treat that we changed our schedule to return a few days later.
