Review 1：The air conditioner took forever to cool the room; room was dirty; phone receiver, refridgerator handle, and the remote control was filthy. The hotel was located near train tracks and freeway so noise throughout the night. Questionable area.

Review 4：The motel was surprisingly clean, there is a fridge and a microwave in the room, the bathroom was clean as well. The staff are polite and ready to answer all your questions. You can enjoy the swimming pool if you want to.

Review 11：1970's air conditioner in the wall isolated from the bedroom. Had to buy $100 in fans and power strips and OUTLET adapters! Who has two pronged electrical outlets these days? Had to buy all of this stuff at 9pm at night as it was 90 degrees in our room(the beds were actually hot to the touch)because the staff only turned on the air conditioner-of which the cool air did not reach the main area of the room-about 1/2 hour before we arrived even though it was 104 degrees. I actually called 2 1/2 hours before to say we were running late. Bathroom window had no blinds or curtains to block the light so it was stifling in there at all times. Beds were hard and uncomfortable. Staff did not speak english and was no help. "Breakfast" consisted of prepackaged stale danishes. Coffee maker in room was broken and coffee was not offered at breakfast only DRY cereal with no milk. Outlets had motion detectors so the fans I plugged in would stop running if I didn't get up every 1/2 hour and push the switch for every outlet. Staff did not clean our room the whole 7 days except for one time. TV did NOT have HBO even though that was advertised. Pictures sent to me before I booked were inaccurate and phony.

Review 12：The shower head was actually updated and had a great massage feature. The refrigerator and microwave were convenient even though we had to buy electrical strips to hook up our fans because there were no open outlets. We couldn't use the microwave at one point if we wanted the fan to run.

Review 13：Pool is not heated! Area is depressed but did not feel threatened. We felt safe there!

Review 41：The clean, comfortable bed was tops on my list! We don't look for resorts with lots of amenities, so we were well pleased with our overnight stay while on the road. The owner/manager had called our home to check on us when we had not arrived by 10:00 PM. How many other hotel staff would do that? He also immediately took care of a noisy group who had gathered in the parking lot to "party". We also found out he had kept an eye on the parking lot the whole night because he mentioned that he'd seen us make a late-night trip to the car for forgotten items and had made sure it was us in case he needed to intervene. So glad we stayed in this small, privately owned place.

Review 42：Harley motorcycles convened at the hotel on the day that we stayed there. So noisy.

Review 44：It is right off the highway so you had that noise and then we had really loud bikers who came in at midnight gunning their engines and playing their music. Also, the pillow were not very comfortable.

We chose the Sandpiper Lodgedue to its price and good reviews and were really happy with it. Themotel is very clean and spacious and the staff extremely friendly andhelpful, particularly Manny, the manager. We left a mobile phone thereon the way back to the city and Manny remembered the place we werestaying in sf and called to let us know then arranged express postage soit arrived with us before we returned to the uk. Excellent!
