Reviews for Hawthorn Inn
Review 1:Nothing!
Review 2:The whole experience was wonderful. The owners were very nice. What a nice place to stay. Breakfast was great! They were able to serve 2 gluten free breakfasts which was very nice. Loved the 2 person jacuzzi tub! Would definately plan on staying here again (hopefully soon!). Location was around the corner of the main street where a bunch of little shops were. Easy walking distance to the shops and restaurants..
Review 3:Hawthorn Inn is a truly wonderful experience. The owners are doing everything possible to make your stay comfortable with a beautiful environment and a peaceful abode. Breakfast is a great experience with guests sharing the dining space. On offer is a 2 course affair with an abundance of coffee or tea. The rooms are very large and well appointed. The town of Ca,den is great. We were there for the autumn leaf change - the fall - and it was a wonderful experience.lenty of dining experiences in the town as well as nearby. This was a wonderful experience ( for 2 Australians) and I hope to be able to return some day.
Review 4:The property was charming with true Maine hospitality . The staff was friendly and very helpful. Breakfasts were not only delicious but a feast for the eyes! I will certainly return in the future.
Review 5:I didn't like the proximity to the main road which was quite noisy at times. The breakfasts were interesting but would have preferred something a bit plainer.
Review 6:I liked the size and airiness of the room and the bed. The location was very convenient for access to Camden.
Review 7:Was pretty pricey, there were really no restaurants with good food at a reasonable price in Camden. There were alot of stairs and breakfast was basically fruit with a bread based entree' again for a very high price.
Review 8:The Inn was delightful, very historic, we stayed in the carriage house, which was also very nice. Had a great deep tub and nice stove, bed was comfortable.
Review 9:N/A
Review 10:Ted and Lisa were extremely friendly and accommodating as well as the staff. Breakfast each day was superb! Will definitely return on our next trip to Camden.
Review 11:The Hawthorne Inn is a beautifully restored inn, located within a short walk of downtown Camden. The included breakfast was delicious, and a great start to the day. The room was comfortable and nicely furnished, with many details not typically found in overnight stays ... like umbrellas and a flashlight in the closet, wicker baskets in the bathroom for used towels, and several more little conveniences. The owners and staff were very welcoming making for an extra-pleasant stay.
Review 12:Other rooms I saw were excellent. Our room was smaller and the bathroom was sub-standard. Too small and did not have a proper door giving full privacy.
Review 13:Outstanding breakfasts and warm welcome. Very comfortable lounge area with coffee, tea and fresh baking each day. Walking distance to restaurants
Review 14:Our room was located on the back side of the house, overlooking a lovely garden, which allowed us quiet, even when just minutes from bustling downtown Camden.. The innovative breakfast menu was delicious, the hosts charming, and all the staff most helpful.
Review 15:Rooms to the street are a little noisy. Price rather high but as most in New England.
Review 16:Very beautifull house. Short walk to the harbour and the center. Very nice hosts who are enjoying to please the guests. Great breakfast as well. Out of the ordinary!
Review 17:Nothing
Review 18:We were completely and perfectly taken care of from the moment we arrived. Great location, awesome breakfasts, and the friendliest innkeepers we've met.
Review 19:The shower was very small. But I doubt that this could be reconfigured.
Review 20:The Inn was clean with fresh paint and linens. My room had a brand new A.C. unit, comfortable mattresses, luggage racks, iron, ironing board, and even an umbrella. The bathroom was stocked with extra towels, hair dryer, and bath products. The breakfast and afternoon tea service was outstanding. Fresh made baked goods and breakfast was 5 star quality.
Review 21:Our room was not as well equipped as we would have liked but Lisa offered us an alternate room without any problem.
Review 22:Location & ambience of the B&B. Lisa & Ted were very good and accommodating.
Review 23:Ted and Lisa are cordial, helpful and work hard to ensure a good time. We needed recommendations for dinner for two vegetarians on the seacoast of Maine. They made a recommendation, having read restaurant reviews. We have a wonderful meal. We also have some allergies, which they gracefully accommodated. They maintain a table of brochures, offering a breadth of suggested activities. We left wishing we could stay longer and promising ourselves that we'd be back!
Review 24:The only negative comment I could make is that since the owners recently purchased the Hawthorne Inn, the knowledge of the Inn and area was limited.
Review 25:The rooms were well furnished. The turret room mentioned it had a small bathroom so it was nice to be aware of that when booking the room. The breakfast were amazing.
Review 26:Interior renovations to the original building detract from its inherent charm, especially as you enter.
Review 27:Our spacious room and amazing bathroom. The innkeepers. Breakfast. Location.
Review 28:I would perhaps have liked some more choice of lighter fare for breakfast. A minor point is that the house is on one of the main roads, so during the day there is some noise of passing cars. At night, however, it was perfectly quiet.
Review 29:The house, the arrangements, the attention to detail. the friendliness and helpfulness of hosts and staff. Walking distance from nice stores and nice eating places in Camden. Availability of glasess, ice and bucket (the latter two upon request), so as to buy a bottle of something to enjoy in the room!!
Review 30:Hosts were charming, helpful and efficient. This was a truly great experience with many personal touches. Breakfasts were quite delicious, served so attractively and different each day.
Review 31:Traffic noise disturbed what should have been a good nights sleep. Small size of the shower room might cause problems for some people.
Review 32:Lovely location helpful friendly staff.
Review 33:I had picked the garden room because of private entrance which was closed.
Review 34:Great owners and staff. Very helpful and pleasant. Great 2 course breakfast. My husband had mentioned he liked smoked salmon for breakfast and on the second day they had it for him. They had great restaurant suggestion and things to do in the area. Within walking distance to down town.
Review 35:The only thing I could say is that you can hear the noise from the road if the windows are open. That can't be helped.
Review 36:I have never been to a place that was kept so immaculate. Everything was in it's place. They pay attention to detail, that's for sure. This Inn is absolutely beautiful inside and out. It's in the perfect spot to walk into town. The owners are very friendly and went out of their way to make our stay comfortable.
Review 37:Not much at all, only point is that it is on a road with some traffic noise in the mornings.
Review 38:Location, friendly staff, breakfast service, peaceful rear deck, ample parking space on site. Overall very good value.

Review 79:Exceptional hosts and staff, beautiful rooms and buildings, lovely garden, delicious breakfasts.
Review 80:Ground floor room so was noisy with windows open.
Review 81:Clean, large room. Pleasant innkeepers & staff.
Review 82:under enthusiastic new management idyllc spot great breakfast
Review 83:The grounds are inviting, the bedrooms are nicely furnished, and the two-course breakfasts are delicious. The location is within a brief walk from downtown Camden. The innkeeper will give you the straight scoop on what you need to know about restaurants and tourist attractions.
Review 84:I didn't like the bathroom.....the shower fixtures were from the 60's (I know because I had them). I didn't think that it was as charming as it could have been. We weren't aware of any ice tea or lemonade on the patio at 3pm like it mentions in the brochure.
Review 85:The breakfast was wonderful and done nicely.
Review 86:The location was great, a short walk to the shops and restaurants Breakfast was excellent Our room, the Turret, was bright and cozy Maryanne is a great hostess
Review 87:nothing to dislike
Review 88:The Inn was beautifully decorated, comfortable, the food was awesome!!! The owners were so hospitable and so friendly! It was close to the main street of shopping and dining. The atmosphere was relaxing.
Review 89:Bed was too soft for my tastes. King bed left little room for sidetables. Shade screens were not room darkening. Tv was small &inconveniently located for viewing.
Review 90:Very clean. Perfectly located in Camden. Delicious breakfasts. Modernbathroom. Ample parking.
Review 91:The B & B was beautiful! We were upgraded to a cottage with a patio and wonderful view. Mary Ann and Bill were great and the breakfast was amazing! We had a very relaxing stay before returning home. Thanks.
Review 92:Everything was wonderful.
Review 93:Innkeeper Maryanne is the consummate hostess, taking delight in pleasing her guests. Place is well run and beautifully kept. You feel comfortable and pampered.
Review 94:I never reviewed one of my many stays in a hotel - but this one really exceeded all my expectations and deserves a warm recommendation. The Inn is situated in the heart of Camden. It has beautiful rooms, a peaceful garden and terrace, magnificent breakfast menus, and superb hospitality. I felt very welcome and pampered - and at home. We love to come back.
Review 95:No curtains, though rods were up. No way to darken the room. The "Rose" room was very tight- knocked into furniture constantly. The bathroom not user friendly- no place to put toiletries. The air conditioner turned itself off, and we couldn't turn it back on.
Review 96:The location- 5 minute walk to downtown Camden The food- delicious breakfast, but not neccessarily enough. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
Review 97:Can't think of anything.
Review 98:Innkeeper was friendly and personable. Breakfast with other guests was fun and interesting. Breakfasts were gourmet. She catered well to me being vegan and does well with people with food allergies. Bed was really comfortable. Walking distance to town and good restaurants and shops and the waterfront. Close driving to other attractions.
Review 99:Gracious, helpful innkeeper and staff. Very nicely appointed rooms. Extremely comfortable bed. Delicious breakfasts. Private parking. Close walk to the center of town but still very private.
Review 100:The Hawthorne Inn is completely charming. Our room was perfect and the bed was so comfortable. Breakfast served outside in the garden was lovely. The perfect little walk to town. Highly recommend.
Review 101:I don't remember reading that the shower in our room would be so small. Breakfast was lovely, but felt a bit too drawn out from start to finish.
Review 102:Bill and Mary Anne are extremely friendly and knowledgable about Camden. They were a great resource for restaurants and things to see and do. It was also a nice surprise to see a TV in our room.
Review 103:No tea/coffee making facilities in room or lounge. Chilled water in lobby would have welcome as the weather was unusually hot during our visit.
Review 104:Attractive well-maintained character building in great location five mins walk from Camden harbour. Very friendly management and polite staff. Comfortable, charming furnishings and lovely garden patio eating area. Free wifi. Breakfast was very nice with well-presented regional dishes.
Review 105:The beds were not comfortable. Breakfast was not served until 8:30 am,and we had a conference that started at 8:30. The owner said she was inthe the kitchen at 6am. Offered fruit and english muffin, when I askedfor scrambled eggs and english muffin, she said yes with a sigh. The innwas immaculate but there was a feeling that if we messed something up,during our meals, that was a problem. It was not a relaxing environmentfor us. Even in the room we were asked not to use the towels to wipe ourfaces, we were given paper towels in the room, so that they could savethere face towels. We would never go back there. Also, the man that cameand removed our dishes wore dirty clothes. I don't mind jeans, butthey needed to be washed. His attitude left alot to be desired. It wasstressful, not relaxing for us.
Review 106:The grounds and the dining area were beautiful. The staircase wasbeautiful. It was close to intown Camden.
Review 107:Very long wait for breakfast until all guests were assembled. Would be very frustrating if in a hurry to move on.
Review 108:Nice location a short walk into town and restaurants. Lovely large room and bathroom.

Review 110:The owners. And the bathroom was the largest we've ever seen!
Review 111:Our bathroom was small.
Review 112:Marianne was very helpful and welcoming. Lovely breakfasts where we met other guests.
Review 113:Great recommendations for local food and activities
Review 114:Great owners, very knowledgable
