Reviews for Strawberry Valley Inn

Review 1:had to have water trickle non stop due to improper insulation of pipes, no vending machine, ice machine broken, no phone in room, office closed early. Would have loved more than boiled eggs for eggs for breakfast.

Review 2:Place was set back from the road, homey, sufficient, staff had great attitude. Christmas tree in breakfast area was fun. Beds were okay, shower hot, view out back window was rural. Good proximity overall.

Review 3:The place as a whole seemed in need of some attention and upgrades. I understand from the owner that they've been doing a lot of remodeling and upgrades since they bought it two years ago, so I can imagine some things take time and are probably in progress. The breakfast was a little bit disappointing considering they have a kitchen right off the dining area. Seemed a bit pricey for what you got, but it is a vacation/resort-type area so I guess it's to be expected.

Review 4:The staff was very friendly and personable and I enjoyed chatting with them a little over the two nights we stayed there. The room was comfy and had some homey charm to it. The dining area had linens, place mats, and centerpieces which gave it a nice touch and the fresh blueberry waffles for breakfast were great! I especially loved sitting by the fireplace for a leisurely breakfast while enjoying the conversation cards on the table - a fun way to start the morning.

Review 5:The mattress was a little soft in 1 of our 2 rooms.

Review 6:The owner and staff are lovely and the breakfast was very good with fruit, coffee, yogurt, cereal and fresh waffles or pancakes.

Review 7:The bed frame was rather old and creaky- added to the charm but I could have done without the noise.

Review 8:Room was so cute and charming. Very clean and well kept.

Review 9:the breakfast was below average, and a lot of things were no longer available if you came to breakfast a little later than 8 am.

Review 10:the friendliness of the staff and the interaction with the other people who stayed at the inn, the spacious rooms and little bathroom that was fully equipped..

Review 11:Older location. Pleasantly surprised how comfortable it was. Room was large, bed comfy, clean, and blue berry waffles were great. Staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Will stay there again.

Review 12:Instructions to go across the street to check in is incorrect.

Review 13:If you find yourself in Mount Shasta...STAY HERE. Love the free wine tasting and morning breakfast. All rooms are like suites. Our pet played with the owners dog .

Review 14:The bathroom floor was not swept. There was lots of hair on the floor. The carpet by the bathroom was not vacuumed.

Review 15:The bathroom floor was very dirty upon checking in. They cleaned it. No telephone in the room to call front desk.

Review 16:Very nice staff and excellent location to visit Mt. Shasta. Small refrigerator in the room. Breakfast was ok, would have liked more protein options than a boiled egg.

Review 17:The beds were some comfortable in my back still hurts, and the pillows were so awful my neck hurts

Review 18:The place is a very quaint, cute and clean and in a perfect location

Review 19:Converted motel from the 60's or 70's in desperate need of a remodel or refurbishment! . Shabby decor, room near busy highway, bed sheets looked dirty and think they had not been changed from previous guests. Carpets dirty, bathtub/shower and shower curtain were green with mildew, and wall paper was peeling. Would NOT recommend this place to anyone!

Review 20:Good breakfast served in separate building. Better winter destination, I think, than summer.

Review 21:I don't like the all night exterior security lighting and prefer darkness for a restful sleep and I dislike the unavoidable presence of Wifi radiation, but I realize these are necessary evils of our culture however, options for blocking these things would be nice.

Review 22:I loved the good cross ventilation through the room from the open windows and the sight, fragrance and presence of big trees outside the windows... also the earthy smells from the adjacent nursery and the wild birds singing in the morning.

Review 23:The room had no chairs except one at the desk so you had to set on the end of the bed. The desk where the coffee maker was located was dirty with something sticky. On Friday night the motel across the street had live music which was loud until late at night.

Review 24:The staff was nice and the breakfast was good.

Review 25:A large room with one chair, but no table, nothing to put a drink or computer on. When I asked if they had small table the front desk said they would request one (early in day) but it never happened and I heard nothing from my request. The sheets were to big for the bed and hung all over the floor, therefore we were walking on them. Pillows were the worse I have ever seen!!!

Review 26:the staff was very nice, with one exception.

Review 27:breakfast is too simple, no sausage no potato…I booked 2 rooms each with two queen size beds, but have one with only one queen size bed...first time ever happened awful :(

Review 28:location

Review 29:Arrived late. Z-bed was in room but no sheets for it- knocked at office door but no reply. Borrowed sheet from my buddies bed but was cold in night. Carpet near fridge soaking wet (leak?) and smelled damp. Definitely not worth $190

Review 30:Idyllic location, lovely gardens to enjoy, fabulous cheerful staff, comfy clean room, easy short walk into the 'village'. The main house and setting reminded me of a Thomas Kinkade painting.

Review 31:The apartments need much more than a brush up and there was always humidity in the room. The bath tub is very old, the beds only have a fleece for covering (never seen before in the US not even in cheapest Motels), they are very dark inside and room service does not at all do a good job. The breakfast was poor, in the end we did not take breakfast in the inn. It is not at all Ok to pay 170 $ for 1 night in a two bed room in this old place.

Review 32:In fact we are very disappointed and so nothing. The place at first sight looked very nice and the ratings were very good...

Review 33:This is a once lovely motel which still has a lot of possibilities. In general the outside which was once beautiful needs some tlc. The rooms are neat and clean but in need of updating. Rather expensive for the value.

Review 34:The ceiling light and TV in the main room was not working and the fridge was expanding as it was covered in ice and the door didn't close.

Review 35:Strawberry Inn is a very pretty house with the accommodation surrounding it. We enjoyed the wine tasting evening.

Review 36:The continental breakfast was standard fare yet served on paper goods and apart from the delicious blueberry waffles, nothing else stood out. Our room was very dated and in need of a facelift. Peeling wallpaper in the bathroom definitely detracted from the charm of the setting for this inn. However, with this said, we would not be deterred from staying here in the future.

Review 37:Set back off the main road for a quiet layover on our road trip. Our room backed up to a garden nursery which added to to lack of noise at night. As a result we were able to sleep with the windows open and not rely on the AC. The lovely grounds provided a nice alpine setting.

Review 38:Did not make up our room on the second night. Just brought by fresh towels.

Review 39:Walking distance to downtown. Parking right in front of your room. Two flat screen TV's.

Review 40:The continental breakfast, no hot food. Cold waffles, and not to much to pick from. The irony is, the elegant atmosphere in the dining area. The king size bed sheets did not fit the bed and the pillow cases were 1/2 the size of the pillows.

Review 41:Good WiFi, and good location to visit lake Siskiyou and the Mount Shasta area.

Review 42:Hard to say it was a great place just maybe the location we wish was closer to the heart of town but other then that great place

Review 43:The location was fair but the rooms had a very cozzy feel to them and felt like home as soon as you walk in

Review 44:I feel this facility is overpriced for a facility of it's age and it's basic rooms.

Review 45:Excellent location to dining, shopping and exit highways.Very helpful employees. My refrigerator didn't work and after notifying them it was replaced within five minutes.

Review 46:The bed (too soft and poorly fitted). The air conditioning is a portable unit and noisy. The price. Should have been about $25 less. You pay for the location.

Review 47:The people, the setting, the cleanliness, the history, and the landscaping.

Review 48:Nothing

Review 49:Quaint, cozy feeling. Great central location. The host was very gratious and served an excellent breakfast of blueberry waffles, friut, coffee and more.

Review 50:Room was a bit worn and shabby and not very well cleaned.

Review 51:The motel gardens are well cared for and attractive. The location in Mount Shasta is very convenient. When we had a car problem the owner went out of his way to assist.

Review 52:Bed mattress wasn't the best quality and I woke up with a backache. Our room had microwave and small refrig. but no prep. space at all. Felt over priced compared to other place we've stayed.

Review 53:nice room and beautiful setting.

Review 54:Very roomy, older facility but quite charming and in a beautiful spot. Not to mention it's a short walk to the best restaurant in town. Very friendly and helpful staff, good waffles for breakfast.

Review 55:This place is charming. The staff was super friendly. Our room was clean, cozy, and very well appointed. The main house is gorgeous and open to guests throughout the day and evening. There was even a surprise wine tasting! Would definitely stay here again.

Review 56:Tub leaked no ice TV controller did not work not enough glasses were left in room 3 instead of 4 pillows heater very noisy breakfast served from 8:00 - 9:30 am parking was crowded

Review 57:The room was cozy. room was clean but small room was quiet had wi-finished but had hard time getting. Usually don't have that problem.

Review 58:Noisy fan in the bathroom. Mattress was way too soft.

Review 59:Staff was super friendly and helpful. Room size. The room smelled great. Location was ok. It is 0.6 mile from the little center which is not bad.

Review 60:Although facility was basically clean, our room, at least, was a bit run down. The wood of the closet cabinet was well worn, and just a little grungy. The vanity sink was obviously quite old, worn, and checkered. Not quite the quality I would have expected for the price. The breakfast was marginal.

Review 61:Basically a charming, reasonably well kept facility. Staff was cordial and helpful. Facility was quiet; close to town. Close to two excellent restaurants.

Review 62:The decor needs to be updated - wall paper needs to go. The sofa is uncomfortable & out of date. Our bed was broken so not very comfortable.

Review 63:The staff were very friendly & helpful. Location was great - within walking distance of Lily's Restaurant. Breakfast was homey & as an extra treat they offer massage service.

Review 64:My only issue and it was not much but I thought the carpet could have used a bit a shampooing.

Review 65:I loved the peace and quite in such a lovely setting with trees and various areas to lounge about in. The continental breakfast was more than that, it was a feast. The staff were absolutely wonderful, always had a smile for you and were so kind.

Review 66:It felt like a very old motel. The mattress was like a marshmallow...the toilet made a very loud noise when flushed...the a/c was also very noisy.

Review 67:The location was very good. We had paid for 2 nights and checked out after 1 night....they very graciously gave us a full refund for the second night. That was appreciated.

Review 68:We have stayed at the S.V.I. several times on our way to visit our Oregon relatives. The grounds are charming. We always appreciate having breakfast provided in a charming atmosphere. This trip the breakfast room opened too late for us to enjoy it before our departure.

Review 69:N/A

Review 70:Good room and location.

Review 71:We loved the quaint little place and the owner was great! Yummy breakfast which is included. Great value.

Review 76:charming

Review 78:The rooms were clean and beautifully decorated. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Review 79:Fresh berry waffles for breakfast

Review 80:very nice room and comfortable bed, nice decor

Review 81:For the price - $170+/- the furnishings were motel six.... very little counter space and only one chair

Review 82:quiet location

Review 83:Lovely place. Fifteen minutes drive to top of Mount Shasta. We enjoyed staying there.

Review 84:The motel looked a little dumpy from the outside, but the rooms were clean inside.

Review 85:Staff and the strawberry waffles

Review 86:Really friendly staff, very helpful local hiking and event info, comfy bed, and great waffles!

Review 87:only the hard bed.

Review 88:comfortable room although the bed was very firm. the breakfast was outstanding and the wifi reception was excellent.

Review 89:Scenery

Review 90:Nice and homey place.

Review 91:The facility is lovely and a great value. Strawberries were growing at the entrance and seemed to be available. Delicious!

Review 92:A little pricey

Review 93:Beautiful yard and sitting areas. Enjoyed the evening wine tasting and staff was very friendly.

Review 94:Not the best value for the money, in need of upgrade like the bath tub, etc.

Review 95:It was clean

Review 96:The WiFi signal not the best, but the surroundings make-up for it
