Reviews for University Inn - Auburn

Review 1:The building and rooms needs to be deep cleaned and updated. Bedding needs to be replaced because our sheets were stained. A little TLC and money put back into this hotel and it would be one of the best places to stay.

Review 2:The location is great because you park your car and walk everywhere!

Review 3:If you've ever considered yourself a "grown-up," or said "im too old" for something, you will absolutely hate this place. It's old and dirty, is the equivalent of passing out in a frat house, and the loud nearby nightlife will not stop just because you're ready for bed. The location is tempting, but you'd probably be happier staying elsewhere.

Review 4:This is an amazing, dream location for mid-20s football travelers who are here to party. The location is PERFECT, and it's a place to crash after a night of hitting the bars (which are not even 100 feet away). When it comes to living the college life for a weekend, this place really can't be beat.

Review 5:The hotel is poorly maintained and felt dirty even though I think the bathroom was clean. I'm not opposed to an old hotel, but one does expect it to be maintained

Review 6:The location

Review 7:it was loud throughout the night. We called the front desk to report the noise by others outside of our room but no relief until the individuals went to bed at 5 am

Review 8:Location

Review 9:The place in general and the room was "tolerable" for a cheap one night stay. I won't go back though. I will spend double the money to stay at a nice place. If you're used to the nice hotel stays, this isn't the place for you either. The tiny check in office smelled very strongly of Indian food. The breakfast was a few individually wrapped, off brand, old looking honey buns in a basket which I did not even consider eating. I high tailed it to the chick-fil-a which was a 1/2 mile away.

Review 10:The location was the biggest factor for me because I wanted to be on Auburn's campus for my one night stay. The place was just about empty so it was quiet. Almost spookey quiet, but I felt safe with the location. I inquired if there were any other guests and there were only 3 or 4 in the entire place. It was a slow Sunday per the lone female office worker.

Review 11:Felt like I was the only one staying there, and as a female alone that was scary. Everything was old. Bedding looked old and dirty. Bathroom was disgusting, stuff was falling ing the tub. The room smelled like mold. I

Review 12:Nothing

Review 13:It being close to campus and everything there was considerable noise until 3AM. Should have packed ear plugs. Still good value.

Review 14:The staff very nice. Close to college campus and all activities. Very clean. Walking distance to everything. Went for half-marathon run.

Review 15:street noise and hearing the other guests fighting. The property could use some TLC.

Review 16:The location and price are fantastic . The owners are very nice and the housekeeping staff very friendly .

Review 17:The noise at night was almost unbearable. The bathtub was dirty. The bed, while clean was sagging in the middle.

Review 18:The location put us right in the middle of all activities without moving our car! It was wonderful to walk to local restaurants and Auburn activities. The price point was right on target.

Review 19:Where do we start - the toilet wasn't flushed, there was hair in the bed, I found a toenail, the bed sagged, the odor in the room was so bad we left clothes in the car so they wouldn't smell bad. I wasn't expecting anything fancy but they just didn't seem like they were even trying to make this nice.

Review 20:The location is the only nice things about this place. It's walking distance to nice restaurants and night life.

Review 21:The room smelled like smoke and it looked dirty. At 11pm the music at the club nearby was so loud we couldn't sleep and had to finally leave at 1am, which was very inconvenient.

Review 22:Hotel is right next to a bar that was pumping out bass til 2. If you're here on business trying to get a good night's sleep - probably not the best choice. If you're here for pleasure - great place to come pass out.

Review 23:there was nothing that I would say that would be negative about our stay. It was everything we needed.

Review 24:The inn was located in a location that was close to any thing we wanted to do.

Review 25:Shabby room. Saggy bed. Inadequate Ice Machine. Small Refrigerator interior parts broken. NOISY NEIGHBORS.

Review 26:Location near the University. Daily Rate.

Review 27:It's was fine for a wedding weekend, but only because we're a couple in our 20s.... If my parents stayed here, no bueno.

Review 28:It's right downtown. Room was clean, but really dated.

Review 29:right across the hotel there's a loud bar that plays deep into the night. the upshot is that the hotel is right downtown, so you don't need to drive anywhere

Review 30:people working at the hotel (nice Indian couple and an equally pleasant single mom) were very helpful and willing to accommodate my needs

Review 31:I booked this hotel in 2013 for the 2014 home football season. Since it is in downtown, it would be walking distance to the bars/restaurants and we wouldn't have to drive. Well, Saturday morning we drive over to our tailgate area with all our stuff and people. After the game, about an hour after, we try to drive back to the hotel. I am well versed in the Gameday traffic and know that Toomer's is blocked off for rolling, but I didn't know that blockade extended PAST my hotel. I drove to the opposite side of College and Glenn thinking I could access from there. Negative. The game ended at 930pm. We did not get back to the hotel until 1215AM because of the blockade. Finally we parked the truck on campus and walked with all of our bags through the bar crowds. I will definitely stay down on South College for all other football games like I have done in the past. The rooms are old, outdated and poorly equipped. With the money they make from football season you'd think they could at least wash the comforters, especially since they are single sheeted beds.

Review 32:Nothing.

Review 33:1)- Not clean. 2)- Dated. 3)- Paint, stucko, wall-paper - all peeling. 4)- Literally brown water coming out of water spout in tub when first turned on. 5)- Linens too short to surround mattress; not sure of their cleanliness either. 6)- Without sounding too crass, there was human body fluids from the nasal cavities on the walls. 7)- Though it had a small fridge and micro, I would only use the fridge to keep bottled water - would not use open containers in either the fridge or micro. 8)- Though they did provide toilet paper (with extra roll) and tissue paper, they only supplied soap on day one - did not provide soap or re-stock towels on day two. (The bed was re-made though). Forget amenities such as Shampoo or hairdrier. The only reason to stay in this hotel is for its location - walking distance to everything related to Auburn University; however, if possible, stay at the Auburn University Hotel and Conferenece Center instead - a "Ritz-Carelton" compared to the Universiy Inn.

Review 34:Location is excellent; Wi-Fi operates well. Staff was friendly. Plenty of parking. Access to Auburn University, downtown and festivities like tailgating parties, restaurants and bars is excellent - right in the middle of downtown Auburn. Very accessible.

Review 35:Towels were in the worst shape I've ever seen. I dry my dogs on better ones. Bar in front has outdoor patio with live music until 2am! Impossible to sleep even with the ancient A/C drowning out some of the noise. Everything in the rooms is outdated with the exception of the WIFI and TV service. Light shows through the door when closed and locked. Worst value for money in many years of travel!!

Review 36:Staff was friendly. Location was excellent to campus. Good cable set up and WIFI was available. In the heart of the Toomer's Corner area. Lots of local businesses to eat and shop. Room was as clean as you could expect from a much older property. You are definitely paying for location.

Review 37:The facility needs to be updated REAL bad. The continental breakfast was a joke.

Review 38:The location was excellant. Located in the center of town. Rooms were clean.

Review 39:The location was right behind Quixote's-a popular club/bar for students. Very crowded on the weekend and the music could be heard until well after 3am. Also, they began pressure washing the sidewalk just outside our room at 9am and knocking on our door a couple of hours before checkout our last day. Please don't knock on our door if it's not checkout time yet.

Review 40:We attended a wedding in downtown Auburn. This location was perfect for us to walk to the wedding and after party at The Vault on College Street. We were also right by Toomers Corner for lunch, shopping, and entertainment. Clean room. Free parking.

Review 41:excellent location. room dated, basic, but clean. staff friendly and helpful.

Review 42:The location is great (distance from University)

Review 43:Old run down appearance no coffee or breakfast

Review 44:Convenient

Review 45:Location was fantastic.

Review 46:Old, smelled like curry

Review 47:Cheap

Review 48:The drunk knocking on the door next door at 430 in the morning!

Review 49:We loved the location! It was in walking distance to everything!

Review 50:We enjoy being able to walk around downtown and to the campus. Nothing fancy, but great location and a good value.

Review 51:need some upgrades

Review 52:Somewhat crude and unkept.

Review 53:The location was excellent, right on the College Street strip.

Review 54:Everything else!

Review 55:Old and not updated old bedding, furniture, towels . Needed painting and just updated.

Review 56:It was in the middle of AuburnTown

Review 57:Aged facility, in major need of renovation.

Review 58:Location, Location, Location

Review 59:Not enough light in the room. Two lamps did not work.

Review 60:good location. Many restaurants within walking distance.

Review 61:Feels old

Review 62:Location, parking

Review 63:not recommend for leisure for everything is old.

Review 64:it's safe for teenagers to stay there alone.

Review 65:older rooms bathroom a little rough

Review 66:location ease of access to Auburn nightlife/stadium

Review 67:I am satisfied but please be aware that the property is very simple and old

Review 68:Perfect location near Auburn University

Review 69:We walked in to find a dead cockroach on the bathroom floor...it gotworse from there. There was blood on the mattress, holes in the walls(but some were covered with tape or linoleum). We went and purchasedour own cleaning supplies before using the restroom which I believe Iremember from the movie Trainspotting. With that said, the location wasgreat. It's probably nicer than a Mexican prison but that'sjust a guess.

Review 70:Location was ideal.

Review 71:It's an older hotel, and although room was clean, it isn't appealing outside. It's also right behind a bar, so the music made it difficult toget right to sleep.

Review 72:The location was convenient to campus. It is also close to numerous restaurants.

Review 73:Needs updating badly. Tube television, worn, old blankets, holes incurtains, cheap towels. Extremely noisy due to 2 bars located right infront of the hotel- loud music and loud people till about 3 A.M. Trainscome by 2-3 times a night blowing whisltles. Owners could charge alittle more if they put some money into updating the place!!

Review 74:Location in the middle of town.

Review 75:The room was very run down. The carpet was dirty. The sheets on the bed had burn holes in them. The furniture was broke. Drawers were sitting sideways in the dressers. The table was broke from the stand and was just sitting on it. It actually fell over and hit me when I bumped it. You could see outside through cracks on the door. If I stayed there again it would be bc of the location, not bc of the hotel.

Review 76:The location was good bc we didn't have to drive anywhere. We walked everywhere we wanted to go.

Review 77:The sheets and pillow cases had hair all over them. It looked like theyhadnt been washed. The sink and shower had hair all over the place andthe floors hadnt been mopped or vaccumed. We had to make a trip to getcleaning supplies just to be able to stay in this dump. I cant believethe health dept hasnt closed this place down. Unreal!!!!

Review 78:The only thing good about this place is the location.

Review 79:1. Too expensive2.Misled about breakfast 3.Poor condition of room 4Offered cable and wifi yet neither worked 5. molded refrig. and broken appliances 6 sink broken

Review 80:Walking distance to University

Review 81:Everything else

Review 82:Room was not clean

Review 83:Noise from nearby bars

Review 84:Great Staff !

Review 85:no soap ,shampoo, or hairdryer.

Review 86:Very nice Staff. Hotel in the middle of everything and close to Auburn University.

Review 87:the facilities were old and run down. Was expecting a lot more than what this place offered for the money paid.

Review 88:Old facilities not working lamps

Review 89:It was filthy.

Review 90:It was an old facility. Well maintained, but showing its aga.

Review 91:The staff were extremely friendly!

Review 92:rust in the water pipes..

Review 93:how cheap it was

Review 94:Old facility, stained bedspread, musty smell. Some lights did not work, needs to be updated

Review 95:Location and parking

Review 96:When I booked the hotel they said there is breakfast. Unfortunately, there is no breakfast. Only there are tea and coffee in the hotelreception.

Review 97:It was extremely dirty and in need of repair. It should be closedand redone!

Review 98:Run down facility. Loud scary knock three times in the middle of the night.
