Reviews for Garden Inn and Suites Fresno
Review 1:Love love love this place. We stay here anytime we come to Fresno to visit relatives. Citrus trees throughout the property. Nice breakfast, but certainly not gourmet. Very friendly staff with lots of stories to tell if you're willing to listen.
Review 2:The service was excellent. You could tell just by looking around that much care was given to the property. In addition the presence of fruit trees created a pleasant atmosphere. Even though we we're close highway 99, we could not hear the traffic. Breakfast was nice and better than most properties.
Review 3:Very pleasant, helpful people offering a conveniently located, but still quiet, very clean place to stay, nothing fancy but all seems fresh and new. Included delicious complimentary breakfast. Would definitely recommend to anyone traveling I-99
Review 4:Tried to sell us more expensive room and options
Review 5:Very friendly staff. Nice little bungalows, nice garden. You can sit in your little private porch. Clean. Good breakfast.
Review 6:The room was large and clean, very quiet, with easy access to our car. The grounds were lush with fruit trees, and the owners shared the bounty at breakfast. My husband was pleased with breakfast of fresh waffles, hot sausages and hard boiled eggs, yogurt, bagels, cereal, fruit, coffee, tea and juice.
Review 7:Lovely accommodation - with beautiful gardens with lots of fruit. However it is in a very shabby area, we didn't feel safe to search very far for a restaurant so ended up having a Burger at a nearby Burger restaurant.
Review 8:Motel next door is very shabby, neighbourhooud isn't that great (although lots of shops and restaurants are nearby).
Review 9:Owners are very friendly. Room was nice and clean, very good bed. The hotel looks absolutely gorgeous with all the fruit trees. Breakfast was very nice. We booked an additional night after the first because of this.
Review 10:The pleasant hardworking owner couple and their fabulously manicured fruit garden which gracefully decorates their premises and brings the California sun to the breakfast table. The pool was very welcome too.
Review 11:Discovered ants in the bathroom.
Review 12:The property offered some beautiful fruit trees, rose bushes & other floral plants. Peaceful. The bed was very comfortable. Had a relaxing nights sleep. Friendly older couple managing the property to add to the experience.
Review 13:I would have liked some silverware and real glasses to enjoy a glass of wine.
Review 14:I liked the suite because we were 2 couples & we enjoyed the living room with 2 large bedroom areas. There was still a free bed if someone had a couple of kids. The grounds were lovely...felt like a little villa.
Review 15:Interior is clean, but in need of updating. Bed was horribly uncomfortable.
Review 16:Very nice people - exterior of building and grounds very nice. In and Out Burgers right across the street!
Review 17:Very friendly and helpful people, rooms are clean and pretty big, beautiful garden. Pool looks better on the pictures than in reality, especially deck chairs need new coverage. Location good, however, very noisy at night because close to a busy road (highway).
Review 18:Accommodation very comfortable, excellent breakfast, really friendly and helpful staff and situated next to the intriguing Forestiere underground gardens - well worth a visit.
Review 19:The staff made my waffle. They have fresh fruit basket including peaches and guava. The walkway was lined with fruit bearing trees and flowering shrubs, which gives the area freshness. atmosphere. I will definitely consider coming back and recommend to my business associates.
Review 20:great comfort, clean and nicely decorated. The manager of the hotel is very friendly and provided us with excellents advices. Excellent choice to visit the National Parks
Review 21:The proprietors of the inn were amazing and couldn't have been more accommodating! They went out of their way to make sure we were happy and comfortable! The grounds contain many beautiful fruit trees and unique plants and they enjoyed showing us around, giving us tastes of many interesting plants/fruits. The inn was immaculate and our two bedroom suite with a shared living room/kitchen, huge! We would highly recommend staying here.
Review 22:There is some noise from the freeway.
Review 23:Lovely lady at reception who was very helpful. The hotel was impeccably clean and the grounds very well maintained. We appreciated being able to use the laundromat. Good breakfast. Room was spacious. Pleasant swimming pool.
Review 24:Our villa at the back was quote close to the 99 and so there was some road noise.
Review 25:The gardens which wrap around and between the property give it the feel of a Mediterranean villa and a lot of the fruit on the trees is used in the excellent breakfast.
Review 26:No heat in hot tub. Pool was too cold. Not even allowed a plastic cup inside pool area. NEVER had that happen in 40 years of traveling. Plastic or Styrofoam hurts NOTHING. IF you are going to provide the cheapest TV package (Too many foreign speaking channels, NO Prime movie channels) then take the TV out and reduce the price. Maybe then you can afford to heat the hot tub and or pool. AC TOO LOUD ALL NIGHT
Review 27:Price was good, Breakfast good, Grounds with citrus was good.
Review 28:The owners were very pleasant, helpful and welcoming. The hotel is extremely well looked after, both the room interiors and the gardens. If I were to pass through Fresno again, I would certainly use the same hotel.
Review 29:The hot tub was just a warm tub. The free breakfast was very so,so.
Review 30:Loved the gardens. The room was very comfortable and enjoyed the private patio. Would stay there again if I were to return to the area
Review 31:Fresno is not the greatest place to visit, but as that goes the location of the hotel is still okay.
Review 32:This hotel has BEAUTIFUL fruit-producing gardens all over the grounds, and fresh fruit from them is served each morning with the free breakfast. It was like staying at a bed and breakfast, but with the amenities of a bigger hotel. It was an absolute pleasure staying here.
Review 33:Nothing.
Review 34:Everything. This is an excellent hotel. The staff is very helpful and pleasant. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. An ideal stay for families with children. Amply recommended.
Review 35:Very friendly clean the beautiful grounds with lots of roses and fruit trees and fruit from the trees was actually served at our breakfast. I highly would recommend anyone staying there.
Review 36:Clean, big rooms. Friendly family run hotel. Gorgeous grounds, clean pool. Lovely fruit trees and garden, with fresh peaches for breakfast. Good value. Not fancy, but a great stay.
Review 37:Pool area was not clean Hot tub was very dirty Although the immediate area surrounding the hotel seemed nice and safe the outlining area did not seem like a safe location
Review 38:Friendly customer service Clean room, Lobby, Breakfast Area, Parking Lot and Surrounding Grounds Easy Access to Interstate Next to Starbucks, Denny's other eating establishments Would stay again
Review 39:The gardens were kept immaculate, the staff couldn't of been more helpful and friendly. Nice little pool and jacuzzi, rooms nice and clean, there was a nice choice for breakfast including fresh of the tree fruits.
Review 40:Quite small bathroom but very adequate for an overnight
Review 41:Such a warm welcome on (a late) arrival. The cottage feel. The fab breakfast (with that fruit!) Wow
Review 42:We did go to the Jacuzzi and it was lukewarm. It was very hot out during the day so we were unsure if it was not heated on purpose.
Review 43:We found the owners to be very polite and helpful. The landscaping was very cute with fruit trees and rose bushes. The roses were used to have fresh flowers on the table for breakfast. The breakfast provided both hot and cold choices and far out did the previous hotels we stayed at on our vacation. I definitely would recommend Garden Inn and Suites to others going to Fresno, Ca,
Review 44:Right off the bat, I was offered am upgrade, when I refused they pit us at the farthest room from the pool. The overhead fan made so much noise we had to turn it off three light switches and outlets were broken. When u turned the shower on it made a sound so loud it sounded like a train approach ing. No cable tv just air. For the price there should be HBO!The male manager was rude to our children. It seems like this place was a really nice place but they are letting the insides run down.
Review 45:Fruit trees everywhere, well landscaped.
Review 46:The aircon control was locked making the room cold sometimes when not required
Review 47:Upgraded to a suite - large comfy beds, large fridge, 2 TVs (though not great progs), sitting room. The peacefulness of the surroundings - separate blocks surrounded by rose & fruit trees. Continental breakfast included really fresh (local?) fruit.
Review 48:The staff in the front desk was extremely helpful and friendly. She was not only helped us to find some restaurant on the night of our arrival, but also gave us a bag of orange when we checked out. This motel has a very lovely yard with fruit trees. It is a great stop over place if you are traveling from Yosemite to Vegas or the other way around.
Review 49:Even though the noise from the fan and the window lock that did not work properly was a little annoying everything else was excellent, and the fresh fruit from their trees was a pleasant surprise!
Review 50:The only negative was that Visa Debit Cards are not accepted, had to be credit card only. (Which is completely understandable, it was just a slight inconvenience.)
Review 51:We had the pleasure of being one of the few guests that were there on that day (Weekdays after Memorial Day holiday weekend). We enjoyed our breakfast, learning that the fruits available were right from the property! She gave us a tour of her gardens, showing us what trees were what, and it really added a personal touch to the stay and the breakfast. I could've talked to her all day!
Review 52:The owners were so absolutely lovely. They create a home away from home. Breakfast includes waffles, made when you are ready, with a side of friendly conversation about the grounds, the fruit trees and the area. Fresh fruit from the property is served with breakfast - and we were sent away with a large bag of yummy tangerines to snack on we left! The room was tidy, spacious and comfortable. We would definitely return :)
Review 53:Nothing
Review 54:Even though it was not a high season of Yosemite national park, the price upon the quality was outstanding. Owner of the hotel was extremely kind and helpful. My friends and I were really satisfied with the hotel and the service.
Review 55:The informational binder in the room stated the various TV selections including HBO. They were inaccurate. The system apparently had been changed. The binder should have reflected that HBO was no longer available.
Review 56:The size and configuration of the room. Very comfortable
Review 57:I think it would be nice to have paper compostable cups and " silverware", instead of so much styrofoam and plastic. I'd pay a couple bucks extra if it cost more.
Review 58:I've stayed here 5 times. This time we got a huge suite. The price is unbeatable. The staff makes you feel as if you are in a high quality B&B. Always fresh fruit from the garden for breakfast, and fresh squeezed juice. They make your waffles for you. Nice pool and jacuzzi. Close drive to good restaurants, ( Flemings !) shopping, (Macy's , Whole Foods) university, airport, and fairgrounds. Right across the street from Forestiere underground gardens. Feel safe and welcome at this place.
Review 59:Our room door did not have the extra inside security lock (it was broken). Breakfast was great but lacked liquid creamer for the coffee, only had powder
Review 60:Room was spacious and comfortable and the property clean with fruit tress growing everywhere.
Review 61:Location so close to freeway & only 1 fast food within walking distance. Breakfast: they cut muffins in half from Costco & closed breakfast at 9:30! Too early when all they offered was simple bagels, yogurt, Costco muffins, did have waffle maker
Review 62:Clean
Review 63:I was put in a suite that joined another room!!!! U couldn't comfortable use the suite luxury area since it was co shared with another group! Also the bathroom and shower had hairs everywhere ! Defiantly over priced for what you get!!!!
Review 64:1. super spacious room with kitchen, fridge and stove 2. incredibly friendly (horticulturally knowlegeable :-) staff 3. quiet and clean 4. surrounded by a beautiful little citrus orchard, full of rare and interesting varieties (got a tour that was worth the visit alone!) 5. breakfast with fresh squeezed juice from those citrus and fresh waffles 6. hotel right next to Forestiere Underground Gardens and an extension of it in the citrus "theme". While this isn't the "fancy" part of town, it was exactly where we wanted to be. 7.surprise: only 15 minute drive to Tower Theatre 8. jacuzzi and pool have handicap access lift
Review 65:The staff was so helpful. upgraded to a suite. The bed was so very comfortable. One of our best accommodations and we arrived late and had to leave extra early.
Review 66:We liked and enjoyed everything and the superb hospitality of the owners. What a wonderful experience.
Review 67:Absolutely everything. Rooms were extremely clean, with the best furnishings possible. Superb service, food and an atmosphere of learning about their flower and fruit gardens! The best part of our trip without a doubt.
Review 68:Hair on window sill in bathroom.
Review 69:Comfortable beds and room. Breakfast was good. Owners were on site and very friendly. Aroma from flowers and fruits was very pleasant. Exotic fruit samples were very good.
Review 70:The breakfast had quite a limited selection. However we are used to hotels in a higher price range.
Review 71:Very welcoming staff. Nice big room. This is not a luxury hotel, but everything was nice and clean. Good value for the money. We will gladly come back.
Review 72:That the kitchen did not have any utensils.
Review 73:The space for the family to spread out with separate bedrooms was excellent. The breakfast was beautiful, and we loved that the fruit on offer was grown at the hotel.
Review 74:Nothing ... but stairs could be a problem for some people
Review 75:Family suite , with shared lounge Breakfast was good with enough choice Nice Pool Hosts were kind and attentive Easy parking
Review 76:Breakfast wasn't that great but fulfills all the needs
Review 77:very friendly staff rooms were big and tidy nice garden WIFI connection wasn't that great the but the owner made all the necessary to make our stay as comfortable as possible (they provided us with an access point in the room)
Review 78:tv was an antenna with few local and mostly Hispanic stations, no cable or movie options. there were no glasses or any utensils in the kitchen.
Review 79:the breakfast for good, the pool was warm, the room was clean, it was very quiet.
Review 80:Had a little trouble locating hotel as Fresno is a very large city. Tip get directions either printed off or saved on phone or tablet ready. Although there is a McDonald's close by to use the Wifi
Review 81:Excellent place to stay, staff very friendly. Room's were very spacious, breakfast very varied including fresh home grown fruits. Right next door to the Underground gardens which are a must to see.
Review 82:We loved the gardens with the fresh fruits, which were available for breakfast! The owners are a friendly couple who took the time to show us around the garden when we asked some questions. The place is far enough from roads to be quiet and it is very charming.
Review 83:Wifi just did not work
Review 84:The hotel and staff are excellent. Breakfast is fantastic and features home grown fruits. The gardens make the hotel feel very relaxing.
Review 85:local party took over the pool. we were really looking forward to swimming but it looked like they had "booked" the public swimming pool and it was packed. a big party scene late into the night.
Review 86:Location was good for what we needed, traveling up towards Hearst Castle. Close to shopping and very nice facilities. Friendly staff and great breakfast!
Review 87:Location was perfect for us. Right off the hwy. yet very quiet. Clean, roomy, nicely decorated. Extremely nice and accomodating staff. Good choices for continental breakfast with freshly picked fruits from hotel grounds. Great deal for the money
Review 88:This hotel might not be fancy , but still: comfortable , silent, very clean. We stayed here 6 nights and had a fantastic time.
Review 89:The owners: lovely couple, very kind and service minded. You really feel a guest in this hotel. The garden: beautiful and well maintained. Just great to sit in it. Very cosy. The location: Fresno is a nice city with plenty facilities but also easy going.
Review 90:The hotel is located next to a freeway and the noise from the trafficall night kept me away for all but about two hours. It was miserable. The hotel is dated. It looks like it was once part of a chain, and thensold to an individual owner or owners. It is in need of updating andpainting. The wi-fi worked only intermittently, rendering it useless forthe evening. The television is a tube tv and there is no cable that Icould find.
Review 91:The front desk, which I assume was the owner, was pleasant. Theyobviously put a lot of effort into the landscaping, which consisted ofvery nice fruit trees located around the grounds. We had a pomegranatejust outside our door. The linens were clean and the beds fairlycomfortable.
Review 92:This place where we stay should accommodate 4 adult + 1 kid (11). Was not prepared for us. The sheet for sofa I have to return and ask for clean (was some left over hair on). Kids slept and they complain they fill each plastic button from this sofa. Manager do not give to us any blanket to cover first plastic cover of sofa. !!!!!
Review 93:We stay in a lot of hotels....this was the cleanest most organized hotel. The grounds were beautiful. The room was huge. The pool was beyond clean. The room did not smell like a hotel room. The breakfast was to die for, freshly made waffles, sausage, boiled eggs, orange juice, Danish fruit and more.....I will only stay in this hotel every time I'm in Fresno....
Review 94:Lovely facility beautiful gardens loved the roses and fruit trees all over the property. This appears to be a family owned property and the pride they take in their property speaks volumes.
Review 95:There was nothing I did not like.
Review 96:Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was comfortable and clean. Breakfast was fine just not into eating muffins/sweet things at breakfast. Nice small pool with a few sun beds to relax. Gardens around accommodation pretty with fruit on the trees. Underground garden just next door worth a visit, totally unexpected.
Review 97:Bed not comfortable, bathroom not really handicap ready...need to make it a roll in shower with seat, higher toilet, less slick tile floors, maybe another handrail with toilet to help with leverage....Should revise entrance to room to avoid all the turns to get to the door.
Review 98:Location, room size, facilities, friendly staff, clean room, excellent parking.
Review 99:As other reviews had reported- freeway noise.
Review 100:The garden environment, cleanliness, good lighting for applying make-up, lots of breakfast options. Close to the freeway. Safe feeling with walls surrounding and one entrance.
Review 101:We upgraded to a "suite" for $10 which gave us a bit more room to spread out. There was a kitchen with a fridge and stove, but no cups, utensils, or any cookware. We were only there for one night, so it didn't matter to us so much. Not sure what that was all about though!
Review 102:We were staying overnight on our way to Yosemite. This hotel was clean and convenient. They certainly earn their name "Garden Inn and Suites" as the grounds are filled with fruit trees, and they have an additional orchard in the back. At breakfast, they share all their amazing fresh fruit with the guests!
Review 103:We just needed a place to sleep for the night and arrived quite late, awaking the owner and caretaker of the Inn. She was so kind and gracious. The next morning we were charmed by the breakfast as the majority of the delicious fruits came from their multiple fruit trees on the grounds that were lovingly tended to by the owners. Though the rooms are a little old, they were clean and large. The grounds showed so much pride of ownership. We even received some plant information as we perused the garden! We loved that the owners pretty much did everything themselves, and cared for their guests with a warm hospitality. We hope to stay there again when we are in the Fresno area!
Review 104:Very comfortable, with garden trees all around, cosy and spacious room, caring staff, tasty breakfast. Feels like you are in a 5-star hotel. Didn't want to leave the hotel.
Review 105:Small ordinary bathroom, lack of coffee/amenities in lobby, just ok breakfast
Review 106:Spacious clean room, nice grounds
Review 107:No complaints.
Review 108:Best hotel for the money in Fresno. Family run. Took my satisfaction personally. Very refreshing. Quiet.
Review 109:Beautiful grounds, large clean room, huge TV.
Review 110:Breakfast was great! The fruit trees in the courtyard provided some of food.
Review 111:Spa room wasn't worth the money.
Review 112:Air conditioning didn't work in room.
Review 113:Room was large. Nice hot tub. People were very nice.
Review 114:Wonderful welcome, relaxed atmosphere, home grown food items.
Review 115:- Some highway noise
Review 116:- breakfast with fresh fruits on the terrace - Large beds - spacious rooms - pool
Review 117:Beautiful fruit trees lining the walkways.
