Reviews for The Paramount Hotel

Review 1:A small older hotel with small rooms and not the most comfortable beds.

Review 2:Staff were great. All the way from the valet to the room service gentleman. They get an A+ rating.

Review 3:The location and accommodations were great; staff was helpful in suggesting dining venues. Our only criticism was that our "Executive King" room had a nightstand on only one side of the bed (which also meant less shelf space).

Review 4:Mold in showers, way over priced parking, worst shower valve EVER. Which would you like? Burn or freeze?

Review 5:Nice enough hotel. Staff was generally a little standoffish. Nice bed, great pillows.

Review 6:No.

Review 7:Really good hotel, in the downtown, very convenient for shop, and hotel changed two queen beds for us as when we book, there is no two beds room for our two ladies. very patient for reception. has free green apple each day. we like it a lot.

Review 8:Excellent location for our purpose which was mainly shopping. Great value and very good service. Steps away from the main mall and department stores and many restaurant choices nearby.

Review 9:room was too dry, so I had my throat sore

Review 10:Great facility, location and staff. I have never experienced such a clean room since came to US. the best hotel I have ever stayed in US.

Review 11:It may sound silly but the vending machines were way too hard to find. I was dying of thirst when we got back from the Space Needle and all I wanted to was a bottle of water and I could not find the vending machine to save my life.

Review 12:We were there over NYE and everyone was so helpful in telling us how and where to go to get to dinner and the Space Needle. What I loved most though, is that the hotel was so quiet! Especially for it being NYE!!

Review 13:Our bathroom had some problem in getting hot shower, the water tube made terrible noises like a train's coming when we turned to hot... The price is actually higher than what was shown in our reservation + tax.

Review 14:The location is very good. The bed is quite comfortable. Our window was facing inside (car park) so it was not noisy during sleep.

Review 15:No bar. Very slow check out with one staff member in attendance until the manager decided to come out from the back office. He wasn't particularly friendly. Very slow elevators. Noisy hotel.

Review 16:They gave us 12hr notice the water would be turned off 8pm-4am. No bottled water provided. No tooth brushing possible. I get that buildings need maintenance but they didn't think this one out

Review 17:Location great for 80yo who can only walk a few blocks

Review 18:Hotel is ideally situated near Pike Market, the retail district, the monorail and so is an ideal spot for access to all tourist attractions. Our room on the 11th floor was especially quiet and really comfortable, as were the beds with the wonderful cotton sheets.

Review 19:The fan for the heater was a little loud.

Review 20:Staff was very helpful and polite. Room was beautiful. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others.

Review 21:I had a room on the 2nd floor overlooking a steak house and another hotel's Porte Cochere. The room seemed to be in the same floor as banquets or meeting rooms. There was occasional clomping and furniture moving noise. Not too bad, but... Noticeable.

Review 22:Wow. 5 minute walk to Pike Place Market, and 5 minute walk to the hip/trendy bars and restaurants of Capitol Hill! Perfect location.

Review 23:Hotel restaurant service was poor and food quality average. Had to wait for a long time as waiting staff did not evidently feel any rush to acknowledge or greet us. Dodge the restaurant and the stay will be improved.

Review 24:Super comfy bed. Good location. Hotel staff were friendly. Temperature inside was cozy.

Review 25:Parking $37!

Review 26:The staff was friendly and helpful. Room was very nice. Good location. Parking though great va let was expensive. Lot right across the street is 1/3 the price

Review 27:Wonderful room, excellent staff When the staff discovered that it was my birthday on the night we stayed there, they delivered a complementary bottle of wine. Generally a very classy place.

Review 28:Conveniently located in the city center, all major shopping center , light rail station, pike market is within 5 min walking distance. The room was clean, neat and comfortable. Wi-Fi is fair to use with mobile device. Lobby area is cozy to sit on.

Review 29:The only thing I would change would be the lighting options in bathroom. All the lights are on one switch. Would be nice to have a separate switch to just have 1 light on so not so bright. Dimmer switch would work though too.

Review 30:We had an amazing view from our corner room. The bed was so comfortable as were the pillows. Very relaxing and cozy feeling to the room.

Review 31:No complaints at all!

Review 32:Very Central to downtown Seattle with everything going on.....easy to walk and/or Uber or Cab anywhere you need to go. Easy access to I-5 on and off. Staff was very helpful & friendly. Good Sushi & happy hour in the Hotel with Dragonfish.

Review 33:My only possible complaint would be that there was no continental breakfast.

Review 34:Loved the location! The staff were all friendly and helpful! The Dragonfish was fantastic!

Review 35:I wish they will put a microwave in the room.

Review 36:I chose this hotel based from other peoples review and I'm glad I listened to them. The staff are friendly and I really appreciate that they let us check in earlier than the allowed check-in time, since we have an early flight. Our room is clean & we really like the king size bed & pillows. They're so comfy!.Also,I like the proximity to the shopping malls, restaurants, monorail & Pikes Place.Overall,we enjoyed our stay in Seattle for the first time and we looked forward to come back this summer.

Review 37:Wi-Fi doesn't remember connections -- have to log back in every time -- but signal was strong and speeds were fast. Breakfast feels a little disconnected -- but there are lots of options around the area.

Review 38:Great location in the downtown retail district, blocks from the light rail station to the airport and walkable to Capitol Hill, Belltown, and the waterfront. Decor and finishes are nicely updated and staff is friendly and helpful.

Review 39:Nice new hotel right in the center of town. Very convenient location to the convention center, Pike's Market and mass transit. Super nice staff wanting to make your stay as nice as possible. Also, the restaurant below had great Asian food and an awesome happy hour.

Review 40:really it is a nice place..lovely people and staff

Review 41:the location.. more restaurants nearby would be nice. and a room service menu other than two things.altho the Dragon(etc) is a really nice place for an inexpensive breakfast..!!

Review 42:They charged someone else's bill to me. I had confirmation of two nights but when we got there we were booked for one/

Review 43:The location. Was near all the sites we wanted to visit

Review 44:No hot water when got up later (8:30).

Review 45:Great location. Really welcoming staff who allowed us to check in early after a long flight and were quick to provide good advice.

Review 46:Bed was ok, however, the pillows were too soft I didn't get a good sleep. Other than that, all else was great.

Review 47:Staff were all friendly and room was updated and clean

Review 48:Valet parking is pricy, around $38 for a night.

Review 49:The location of this hotel is excellent, right in the middle of the shopping district. On walking distance of Pike Market and the seafront of Seattle. We also liked the beds very very much! Just right as a bed should be!

Review 50:I thought all the staff were great -from the young woman at the front desk, to the young men at bell desk and valet, as well as the elderly gentleman at the bell desk the 2nd day. The apples at the front desk were a nice touch. The rooms had individual a/c and heat units - often not provided in older hotels. Everything was clean and well maintained. Dragonfish café had a good basic breakfast offering This hotel was super convenient to the convention center and I-5 access. I will stay here again. The hotel exceeded my expectations.

Review 51:Downtown city noise present but not huge issue

Review 52:Staff friendly and helpful Central location for walking and transportation Walked to hotel from light rail

Review 53:The staff was very polite and friendly. Tom, the concierge, acknowledged us every time we saw him. Victor, the valet person, fixed my Ipad, which I really appreciated. It was quiet and the room was upscale. Thank you.

Review 54:I received three different confirmations from booking.com and in the end the hotel got my name wrong (I am Geoff Gray). You also got it wrong. I am not Mr. Wilkie.

Review 55:Comfort and restaurant

Review 56:The restaurant wasn't anything to writer home about.

Review 57:The location is great, short walk to various attractions and all sorts of shopping and good restaurants.

Review 58:Didn't find the coffee maker till my last day bc it was in a cabinet. I t's not a huge deal. In the shower the pumps are rigged so you can barely push them down to get product out. It just took forever standing there repeatedly pumping to get enough shampoo out. Midweek I paid 239 for my room which didn't seem reasonable. One of the 4 nights I paid 160. I don't understand why that happens...

Review 59:clean simple room with nice toiletries. Sometimes they are so low quality I'd rather just rinse with water. I like the eco efforts, alot! The young lady that checked us in gave us a great recomendation on a place to eat breakfast out of the area. It was good food and nice to see more of Seattle. She was very friendly.

Review 60:There was only one disappointment. I had read online that coffee was available in the lobby. When I went down they only had available "Coffeemate" which in my opinion ruins a good cup of coffee. I ended up going to the inhouse restaurant and paid $13 for two cups of coffee just I could have real half-and-half. This would be an easy fix and I'd expect better from a hotel in a city known for their coffee.

Review 61:Parking was valet parking. We had to pay $45.00 american so with exchange was very costly. We did not have great access to our vehicles and this was a problem for us that we didn't experience anywhere else. When you are already paying more than $250. a night this was a little excessive.

Review 62:We did like our location. The room was okay but the cost for the room seemed high.

Review 63:Nothing. Although it would be good if breakfast was included in the room but it often isn't in American hotels.

Review 64:Very helpful staff, great central location, comfy rooms with most things you need.

Review 65:We stay at the hotel 3 to 4 times a year because the staff is great, clean and prime location for us to enjoy downtown. We come all the way from Auburn Washington.

Review 66:No bar to have a drink and we were chased out of the lobby by a not-so-friendly front desk lady when we brought our own wine to sit by the fireplace. She was down right mean. On the flip side, Tom the concierge was fantastic.

Review 67:Centrally located and very nice rooms.

Review 68:Wifi didn't connect a lot of the time.

Review 69:The Bellman Hank was a wonderful help in pointing out things to do and where to eat!! Beds were amazing!! I want their mattress!!

Review 70:Street noise at 3rd floor level was very annoying, interrupted sleep frequently. Sound proofing of windows would be very helpful.

Review 71:Location within walking distance of sights + shopping + theater

Review 72:the shampoo dispensers--no way to wash hair in bath tub--why not have shampoo bottles available--like every other high-end hotel

Review 73:Friendly, helpful staff--also good location

Review 74:The phone wasn't working very well, and it's very expensive

Review 75:The staff were very helpful, the room was very comfy and the location is very convenient to go anywhere downtown.

Review 76:The breakfast staff were sloppy and less than expected. Of the 4 mornings we were there we had breakfast once. There was an excellent coffee bar across the street which we used instead. Our friends who joined us on our last day ventured their for breakfast and came to the same conclusion and actually walked out.

Review 77:The reception staff were excellent and I have to make a special mention of the older gentleman on the concierge desk. He is a real personality and truly makes the reception area unique.

Review 78:There was no nightstand on one side of the bed - you should put one on each side. There was no health club or spa facility at all. No ice machine on third floor, contrary to signs. Your coffee was unacceptable in a city known for quality coffee - we ended up going half block to Starbucks.

Review 79:Your location with convenient walking to the Market, Space Needle to mention a few was a major contributor to our stay. Your staff was both friendly and informative.

Review 80:The staff was wonderful, they acknowledged by Birthday, delivered Champagne, and asked the next day how my day went. Beds very comfortable and hotel quiet even though full.

Review 81:Tom, sightseeing concierge was terrific. Bed & pillows were awesome. Hotel was so close to everything whilst we were too busy outdoors to enjoy the facilities of the hotel it all appeared to be very pleasant.

Review 82:Expensive hotel for basic facilities. Waited around a couple of times for staff because they were overworked. Reception, answering phone, also given tourist advice, booking taxis etc one job many responsibilities.

Review 83:The location was excellent, really close to everything.

Review 84:Do not have bottled water at front desk, lobby bathroom is on second floor with combination lock door.

Review 85:Accomodated very quickly my wifes health condition. Assisted in long distance transportation.

Review 86:We did not have a car and took Sound Transit from SeaTac. The hotel is less than 2 blocks from Westlake Station. We could walk to shopping, the Market and great restaurants

Review 87:This location was so easy to navigate around Seattle. Train station close by and monorail to the Space Needle and Chihuilly Garden. Taxis are easy to get, If you have trouble walking a steep incline there are a few of these.

Review 88:Nothing bad to say.

Review 89:The staff was very nice and helpful. The valet was great! The rooms wereso clean and nice. I got a perfect nights sleep on the beds!

Review 90:A little bit of noise on the streets below (traffic) but tolerable from 4th floor. Asian-cuisine anchor restaurant may not be everyone's cup of tea.

Review 91:Great ambiance in an updated hotel. Staff were remarkably friendly and knowledgeable about local restaurants and resources. Bed was soft and room included full-size soaking bathtub.

Review 92:No real bad experience, I just felt the people at the desk could have been more knowledgeable when it came to giving information about public transportation. Not being from the city can be very stressful and I was sent to public transportation at 10pm when it was closed.

Review 93:I was looking for something close to the hustle and bustle. I feel like I found it. We are not city folk but felt very comfortable at your hotel. Clean and neat as well.

Review 94:The free wi-fi didn't always work - it wasn't a big deal for us though.

Review 95:The hotel location was perfect - we were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go (Pike Place Market, the Space Needle, Lake Union). The hotel restaurant was also excellent and has a happy hour that should not be missed!! All the staff was incredibly helpful and friendly providing great recommendations and directions of where to go in the city.

Review 96:Wanted to have bkfst in hotel restaurant at 10:30 am on Sunday morning after arrival late the previous afternoon. Young hostess said they were full and could not accommodate us for bkfst but possibly would be able to take us when they reopened for lunch in approx. 30-45 minutes. She didn't seem concerned at all.....poor response for any hotel employee. No suggestions as to where we could get bkfst. Perhaps the restaurant is leased out but this young gal was certainly not concerned or helpful at all, unlike other Paramount employees we encountered during our 5 nite stay. Hotel is superb.......restaurant hostess poor at best..

Review 97:Hotel was very comfortable, clean and quiet. Hotel employees very helpful and friendly----certainly exceeded our expectations.

Review 98:a. location, location, location. b. the concierge - never had a more helpful concierge than Hank c. the beds -- like heaven. d. easy parking - in-house or next door. e. great room service!

Review 99:bathrooms are a little small when sharing a room, but sufficient. The price is pretty high, but most of Seattle is.

Review 100:The location was central and perfect for getting around. The concierge, Tom, gave us a few suggestions for food in the area which were all great, but one, L'il Woody's, was outstanding!!

Review 101:The hotel is very nice - location is excellent, rooms are clean, comfortable and nicely decorated, and the bed was very comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Review 102:The plumbing on the 10th floor was noisy like a jackhammer. This is the only reason for not a perfect score. We had a quick and pleasant one night stay.

Review 103:Great location and fine presentation and staff.

Review 104:Despite our request made months ago for a room on high-floor, we got a lower level room facing the street which was a bit noisy. Upon room reservation, the hotel charged us a deposit amounting to more than one night's rental which we think unreasonable. No free water provided. Room rates a bit high for same hotel category.

Review 105:Excellent location, with shops, restaurants, Light Rail and Monorail nearby. Room was sufficiently large and clean. Front desk staff were friendly. Restaurant below offers inexpensive breakfasts and meals.

Review 106:Great hotel - wonderfully appointed, perfect location, lovely staff and very comfortable room. Wish we could have stayed longer - we will definitely come back!

Review 107:We had a major mix up with billing of the room and our rental car came back from the valet with scrapes on the bumper.

Review 108:We loved the location and the helpfulness of the staff that knew the area really well.

Review 109:We went to the happy hour the first night and had some drinks and food and it was a very pleasant evening. Then we went back a couple of nights later and ordered the same thing and the bill was entirely higher and they were very rude to us especially the bartender !! He and the waitress kept acting like we were lieing!!!!!!

Review 110:The location was excellent ! The rooms were spacious and very comfortable, the concierge was excellent.

Review 111:Breakfast only a la carte, no buffet, which I prefer since quicker, & no esspresso machine.

Review 112:Great location, comfortable, adjoining diner & bar with good menu and nice vibe.

Review 113:Hotel located within walking distance of Pike Place Market and the Waterside, easy access to the monorail to see the Space Needle and excellent shopping.

Review 114:The staff was excellent. The concierge, valet, and bell hops were so friendly and made the experience wonderful. Great place to stay if you are coming for any events at the Paramount theater.

Review 115:the handicapped accessible room There were bars around the sink which I would have fully appreciated if I needed them. The proximity of the bars around the sink and by the toliet made it hard to access. They saw us walk in ,I am not sure why they did that.

Review 116:bed was comfortable

Review 117:The price for parking your car is expensive.

Review 118:Upon arrival, I was greeted by very nice staff members... The valets, front desk and housekeeping were helpful! My room was nicely appointed and comfortable.

Review 119:I prefer not to pay by credit card at hotels and upon arrival was greeted by a very rude receptionist who made it clear that it was a pain to process! None the less, it was dealt with and when I checked out, the manager was made aware and she was very apologetic & waived all service charges. :) Also, after the first night, I woke up with several small red ''bites'' on my legs which were very itchy. The bed was immaculate though so I chose to ignore this and I didn't complain. I cant fault the cleanliness of the hotel so I'm not sure what it was.

Review 120:99% of the staff were professional and very friendly. The breakfast is excellent and is great value for money. If you love Sushi then you'll enjoy the in-house Dragon fish restaurant which I visited every day. The bed is comfortable and the pillows were awesome. I booked into an exec King Room and the corner view was great, it was a decent sized room too. Wifi is very good and I had no issues with connectivity. The hotel is located across from the Hyatt and is only 15mins walking distance to the Pike Place market.

Review 121:My husband wished there had been a pool. The gym was fine. Not much equipment but ok because there was only one other person using gym at the time.

Review 122:Walked everywhere. Comfortable bed and I'm fussy. Clean. Fan from ac drowned out street noise. Fan steady white noise. I had really good sleeps. Coffee maker in room.

Review 123:Everything from the beautiful downtown Seattle location, it's proximity to the mall, an expansive window overlooking the city, to the tasteful decorum of the suite, to the Japanese restaurant and bar right beside it(amazing food and drinks) was superb. The staff was very kind without it feeling forced, which was rather enjoyable.

Review 124:No breakfast. The restaurant near the hotel wasn't really good for the price. Nothing much to complain about

Review 125:I liked the location of the hotel. Very accessible to everything - restaurants, attractions, transit, shopping. Very convenient. Staff were really nice and helpful. The room was clean, bed was very comfortable. No complaints!

Review 126:Absolutely nothing negative to report.

Review 127:From warm welcome at reception, through helpful advice from concierge staff, through the large clean, quiet, comfortable room, my stay was perfect in every way. I left an item in my room that they immediately arranged to be couriered to my home. No pricier hotel could offer more!
