Reviews for Hotel Rosa
Review 1:None of the hotel But unfortunately we were among the dozen people in the city, at least more we didn't see ))) Very low season in January, everything is closed, didn't even find a single open restaurant at 7-8 pm. But SM is nice, and this hotel must be lovely in summer.
Review 2:In the very heart of the history and SM, just 100 metres from Liberty square. With a private car parking in such place which is a feat!
Review 3:The location is excellent, but of all the places we stayed during our five week holiday I did not find the staff as welcoming or friendly. Particularly the ladies doing breakfast, perhaps they were having a bad day.
Review 4:Hotel Rosa was a great find and value. Friendly and helpful staff, great location and breakfast. The hotel was very comfortable and clean and had a great bar. The views were amazing. We also enjoyed the hotel dog named Bene.
Review 5:Everything was great!
Review 6:The room was comfortable, warm and had a window with a view that complimented the area. The hotel offers free parking from 7pm till 10am which is a plus since you cannot enter the city by car.
Review 7:Excellent room and an amazing view. Staff just so helpful. The position of this property (and free parking) cannot be beaten and it was everything we expected and more
Review 8:It is to be advised, as I missed it when booking, that you cannot drive up to the hotel between 8am and 7pm due to road restrictions. The public car park is very convenient if you turn up early like we did :)
Review 9:Located nearly at the top of the castle the scenery around the hotel is wonderful. The hotel room was lovely with the city walls viewable from the room
Review 10:Would have much preferred self-service coffee at breakfast as cups were tiny and no refills offered. Restaurant not in operation in October 2015 but there are restaurants nearby.
Review 11:Excellent location adjacent to castle ramparts and in the historic center of the city. Staff very friendly and helpful. View of ramparts from room and view of Apennine Mountains from terrace were both memorable. Chambermaid service excellent. Very convenient free parking, Good WiFi in room. Very good value for money.
Review 12:- The bed was uncomfortable, very hard
Review 13:- Location : inside the old town, the view is amazing - Room : big and spacious, big bathroom, comfortable bathtub - Staff : there was a very helpful man at the reception - Dog : it's living there downstairs and is very cute - Parking : there is a parking spot with a roof and it was reserved for us. You can't get into old town with a car until 19:00, apparently, but the host gave us a discounted ticket for the external parking, which was really close by, 5 minutes walk.
Review 14:Navigating streets in historic district a little difficult. Room small.
Review 15:Location great. Host was pleasant and helpful. A very good breakfast. Nice dog. A small but very comfortable room and the room was spotless.
Review 16:One reads that this is the only hotel 8n the old city - 5here are 3 orhers. This hotel is at the top of the old town, so best accessed by those with an auto who can drive up alongside the pedestrian-only old town
Review 17:Great breakfast Superclean Decent size room OK bathroom Near fantastic Fratta Restaurant Quiet room and location
Review 18:We experienced a terrential rain. Naturally, the hotel is not guilty in this trouble.
Review 19:The hotel is located in the middle of the historical San Marino. The personnel is friendly and helpful. The only disadvantage of the hotel is the absence of its own parking. The hotel must follow the city regulations so cars move there and back only from 7 pm to 10 am.
Review 20:The time restriction on traffic into the historic city. Not enough parking during peak times.
Review 21:The owner was a lovely & genuine person. He was very helpful with his maps & advice on parking. The view from our room was second to none. I wish I could stay a week there! Free parking on site ( a bit tight, but OK).
Review 22:Not a dislike...but info for future travellers: if you arrive between the hours the cars are not allowed up the top, you can call hotel rosa to come and get you from where the bus from Rimini drops you, instead of pushing your suitcase to the top like I did!!!
Review 23:The breakfast was beautiful! Nice comfy bed and pillows. The bathroom lovely, the place is immaculate.
Review 24:Lady at reception had no much info about fees to get inside the towers. In fact she said it was free when actually was not.
Review 25:Perfect location. Amazing view.
Review 26:Located right in the middle of San Marino old town (be aware of restricted access for hotel car parking - use Carpark 6 until able to get to hotel). Great views.
Review 27:Parking on site was only available between 7pm and 10am although we were able to park just down the road before 7pm costing 1.50E hour.
Review 28:Located inside the walled town, right where everything is, Friendly helpful staff. Room had a wonderful view, was quiet, modern, clean and had a good shower.
Review 29:Strong-cigarette smell in room even though there is a no smoking sign and we opted for smoking-free room.
Review 30:Good location near all the sites. Free parking on-site during specific times due to city regulations.
Review 31:n/a
Review 32:the front desk staff were very friendly & each time I was parking my car one of the ladies came out to direct me into a spot and manoeuvre my way into it, it was super helpful
Review 33:I wished that we would've been warned ahead of time about the no entry period. I was happy to book a hotel with free parking only to end up having to pay for parking outside the walls because you cannot enter the town from 10 am to 7 pm. Would be nice if the hotel posted this info in their description.
Review 34:Wonderfully rich breakfast. Loved the little balcony.
Review 35:A bit hard bed. The aircondition needs a fix. When it reaches the desired temperature it switches of with a "click". As soon its hotter then the desired temperature it switches on with a "click". This happend about 20 times in 1 minute with pretty loud "click" so we had to turn the AC of completely as soon as it was cold and then turn it on again when it was too hot.
Review 36:Decent stay with great views.
Review 37:The Breakfast is poor (egg, old sausage and croissant, bad coffee). The bathroom did not close the door. Windy, because of the strong wind hard to sleep. (mountain)
Review 38:The hotel is 5 minutes from the castle in the old town. View from the mountains fascinating. Pure. There is Parking from 20.00 to 10.00
Review 39:the rooms are very loud and you can hear everything. The bathroom is very small.
Review 40:The view and that you can park in front of the hotel even though the city is closed for cars and only allow pedestrians
Review 41:breakfast was pretty dismal, there was some fresh fruit and the usual yogurt, juice, cereal, the cappuccino was quite good, but the bread/pastry selection was terrible
Review 42:Really nice little hotel in an excellent location, with parking, once you know where it is. Google maps and reviews on line were partly helpful. Here’s the drill. Drive up to San Marino center till you get to parking lot 6. This is smack outside the main town gate. Don’t plan to arrive till at least 3-4pm or it will be full and you really want to park in this lot. Once you get a space you need to pay at the meter for about an hour’s worth. Then walk through the gate and past a few stores and turn right at the first possible ‘street’ (via Lapicidi Marni), follow the sign to the Museo delle Cere (torture/wax museum) around the corner and you’ll see it. When you check in they will give you (for 4.50€, half the regular price) a card to stick in your windshield that will be good till the following day at noon. (You’ll need another one for each additional 24 hours you stay). The hotel has a few spaces to park right next to it but you can’t drive to the hotel until after 7pm and need to be back out before 10am, and there’s really no need to. The hotel itself is very nice, fairly large rooms, modern inside, nice bathroom, great wi-fi, lift, TV
Review 43:Nothing
Review 44:Location is perfect - right in the centre, but off a little side road, so very quiet with amazing views, one of the highest hotels in San Marino. Lovely breakfast terrace. Very good value for money. Very helpful staff.
Review 45:Free parking was limited, but a cheap day pass was available for parking nearby. Staff's English was limited but sufficient.
Review 46:Central location in Old Town with great views, yet very quiet. New and clean rooms which were quite comfortable.
Review 47:The location was perfect in the middle of historic old town and side to side with the castle. View from window was amazing. There were also free parking place, which was very convinient compared to many other hotels.
Review 48:Nothing!
Review 49:Location in centro historico, free garage, good brekfast, very clean, confortable bed, big room, terrase, exellent view from terrace and from restoran, very quiet.
Review 50:The location is unbeatable. The staff are efficient and helpful (especially coming out of the office to help guide the car into and out of the car park). A pocket-sized hotel in a pocket-sized country.
Review 51:parking restrictions - you can not park or leave by car from the hotel between 10:00 to 19:00, but it is the city restrictions and the hotel can do nothing about it
Review 52:Location
Review 53:The housekeeping staff were the most annoying people I've ever come across during any of my travels. I had just travelled for 17 hours and I was exhausted, so I decided to sleep a little late the first morning. WRONG! Starting at just around 10 am, these woman worked room to room, shouting at each other from different rooms as they tried to hold a long distance conversation. Along with that, it sounded like they were rearranging every piece of furniture in the building by dragging it from one side of the floor to the other. The noise was horrendous! As I lie in my bed, all I thought about was screaming at them to shut up, but I tried to keep my cool. I did lose a little of my cool when one of them unlocked my door to see if I wanted my room cleaned. "No! Get Out!" was all I could say. These women clearly had no consideration for any guest in that building. When I pay for a room, I expect to be able to sleep all day if I want to. The time I awake should not be dictated by the housekeeping staff. So that ruined my first morning. I woke up a little earlier the next morning, but I could still hear them behaving the same way... only this time I was purposely awake. This could be a great hotel, but the inconsiderate staff ruined it for me. So that's the reason for the low score.
Review 54:The location was great, the room had everything I need (fast WiFi, plenty of warm water, clean sheets and towels, etc). The room was great.
Review 55:My room was on the first floor and it was a bit of a dark room, with some noise problems around 6am onwards due to breakfast being prepared/glasses being cleaned in reception.
Review 56:The location is great, up at the top and just inside the walled town. The staff were helpful. NOTE: If you arrive early leave someone in your car and go to the hotel to buy the reduced rate day parking permit :) They will also give you a discount card for use in local restaurants and shops etc. The breakfast was good by Italian standards and the rooms well presented. Aircon was good and simple.
Review 57:Air conditioning very noisy, we had to turn it off at night. Extractor fan very noisy, especially at night. Bathroom cramped.
Review 58:Lovely location, clean.
Review 59:The location is amazing with fabulous views Rooms are redone and so cool Amazing balcony overlooking the beautiful castles 2 minute walk to all the sites
Review 60:Generally very basic amenities but also adequate
Review 61:The location of the hotel within the walls of San Marino is very special. Nice outdoor area with fantastic view. Also have on site parking after 7pm if you prefer to keep the car close
Review 62:Unfortunately the beds are rock hard. You wake u numb. Didn't sleep well with a sore back. The hostess comes across a bit grumpy and can't speak English at all
Review 63:The location. The view is spectacular. Free parking (after 7pm). The lift
Review 64:We loved San Marino. The hotel is at the top of the town and we had a room with a wonderful view. The staff was friendly and helpful. They have on-site parking. We would definitely stay here again.
Review 65:The serving lady was not very friendly, she seems that she doesnt want to do anything..
Review 66:Position of the hotel is next to 1st tower. Breakfast is nice. The reception man is friendly. Hotel was clean.
Review 67:the fan in a bathroom was bit noisy.
Review 68:Location-just few minutes walk to 1st tower.5 min walk to bus stop. Breakfast-they serve ham, cheese and fresh fruits.not only sweet cakes! Staffs-kind staffs and friendly dog.
Review 69:A delightful small hotel in perhaps the best spot in the beautiful city of San Marino. Very quiet and comfortable, with on-site parking (except for daytime access to the historic center). But everything you needed was right at your doorstep. My wife and I were there to watch the Mille Miglia come through and to enjoy the restaurants and shopping; we definitely will be back next year.
Review 70:the cleaning ladies talked very loudly in the corridor that it was not possible to wake up late in the morning.
Review 71:It is just under the tower. staff was very friendly. They have a dog in the lobby. and we took our cat with us. Everyone was pet friendly. Breakfast was good. We didn't like the coffee so we had tea the next morning.
Review 72:If you're visiting San Marino, make sure you stay overnight so really enjoy the quiet, after all the daytrippers leave town. It's just outstanding. We had a balcony to enjoy. That was a highlight.
Review 73:Very hot room, had to open window during the entire stay, air conditioning was not working early in the season, the powerful room lights function as heaters
Review 74:Steps away from San Marino's best attraction, the city walls and towers, good wifi and breakfast choices above Italian standards.
Review 75:Alas, the wireless didn't work at all when we were there, and the cell phone connection seems to not have good reception from that spot, but we weren't there for the wireless internet so not a problem. We had a LOVELY time and a comfortable stay!
Review 76:The view was awesome, it was PERFECT for a great trip with friends. We found a great terrace, had some wine and watched the sun set! Again, perfect!
Review 77:The breakfast was a little basic. GPS could not find location easily.
Review 78:Good location in the historic centre with amazing view. The hotel facilities were excellent. Free parking.
Review 79:The breakfast was perfect. The owner of hotel very helpful. speak English and give us maps and details about the city. Very clean hotel with nice view and position of hotel.! We go again.!!!!
Review 80:Put a few chairs on the patio on the second floor. My room had no balcony so I spent my time on the public patio, but there were no chairs.
Review 81:Location, location, location. Staff was helpful and patient. Dog was exceptionally sweet. Breakfast was perfect, exactly what I needed before a day of hard climbing!
Review 82:Nothing. Everything was perfect
Review 83:The closeness of the hotel to the car park and the city gate, While my husband waited in the car park no 6 to find a free parking space, I walked up to the hotel, which is very close the city gate (first turning on the right behind the shops, and then up the small ramp) and got the parking pass which only costs Eur 4 instead of Eur 8 for the whole night and following morning.(50% discount given by hotel). It is close to all sights and got a discount on combi ticket to main 5 attractions. They also recommended that we eat at the Fratta, which is next to the gate and got a 5% discount on the meal. We also got a discount with the card she gave us in shops. Breakfast was very good. Eating at the Fratta was very good. The set menu is abandont and very good but they also have a la carte.
Review 84:- nothing
Review 85:Everything about the room that we received was great. We had an AMAZING room with the best view of the surrounding area. TWO balconies, very comfortable bed, clean bathroom, and a couch. Breakfast was good with the typical European spread. I liked that we had coffee/tea/espresso served and brought to the table upon request. Great service. The location is great -- just a walk around the corner and up some stairs to one of the towers. So close. Looks like this place is as far up as you can go to sleep. We parked our car right outside the wall and left it overnight with no issues. Great and memorable stay here! Would book here again.
Review 86:Amazing location, next to fortress and in middle of historic center. Convenient parking next to hotel. Clean and comfortable place and with friendly, helpful staff. We were very happy with our visit. Bonus was an elevator, as we were on the third floor with a child and stroller.
Review 87:Nice and helpful staff. We had a very clean room with a great view. The hotel is located in the historic center; therefore, we walked everywhere we wanted to visit. San Marino historic center is a great place to visit. We’ll stay in this nice hotel if we ever return to the area.
Review 88:There was a middle age woman, she can't speak English and very unfriendly. She should not be in that hotel. Breakfast is not worth the price The hotel is not accessible from 10 am to 7 pm. And is difficult to find!. There's no sign or direction to the hotel. We have to ask to a man from shop. The parking is very tiny, we're lucky to have a very small car. The hotel is not worth the price. And it should not be called a hotel!!! it is more like a B&B
Review 89:The loaction of the hotel is excellent, once you step out the door you directly in historical center where all the shops and restaurants
Review 90:Receptionist wasn't very friendly, It is one of the highest hotels in the town so it is a LONG climb up the hill
Review 91:Cleanliness, Quiet, nice dog, ample and varied breakfast.
Review 92:Mirror, no mirror in the room
Review 93:Location, views from the window, interior, breakfast and.... the friendly hotel pet at the reception :) Wi-Fi was very OK at the reception area
Review 94:Good breakfast with eggs, ham, cheese, toasts, croissants, cakes and jam. Delicious coffee. Very comfortable beds. Spotless, bright shining bathroom. Warm. Charming view from the window above the country of San Marino. Ideal price performance. And steep road up to the hotel is certainly worth the effort.
Review 95:Breakfast didnt offer much choice however for one night it was enough Car access times of the old city, but that wasn't really a hotel's fault.
Review 96:Location Facility Clean Room Very helpful staff
Review 97:We had to move the car to a parking lot a half mile away the next morning because the road is closed to autos after 10 am. We arrived too late to see the town the night before But this was a minor inconvenience. Glad we stayed here.
Review 98:The staff were friendly and the room was terrific. We had a nice view and the breakfast was delicious. Owner helped us park our car and helped the next day when it would not start.
Review 99:San Marino city restriction on driving into the city center between 10 AM to 7 PM. Had to park outside the city center and walked to the hotel from an outlying parking lot.
Review 100:Great location inside San Marino city center and wonderful view. Helpful, friendly owner.
Review 101:The best place to stay in San Marino. Great location, perfect service, incredible view from the rooms. The rooms are comfortable, stylish. Breakfast was amazing. If you are coming with a car, there is place were you can park it.
Review 102:A very minor thing was that the bed cover could do with an update.
Review 103:Hotel Rosa is situated in the Old Town so everything was within walking distance. Once we parked the car we didn't need it until we were leaving. Parking was available at the hotel. Breakfast was good and coffee was great. Wifi was also ok. Quiet location so we had a good sleep.
Review 104:The only thing was for us, unfortunately, was the hardness of the mattress. I had difficulty sleeping, tossing side to side, and my husband ended up on the daybed, as it was softer!
Review 105:Wonderful male staff....so helpful over everything. Even offered breakfast to the girls, even though at 11.00am, and gave us coffee whilst waiting. Loved having balcony rooms...amazing views!
Review 106:everything was good.
Review 107:very good location, although the parking can only be accessed before 10am and after 7pm. You can park in the general car park until the pedestrian area is open again.
Review 108:The WiFi has some issues, often does not work. I think hosts should look into this, seems to be a poor setup of network combined with rather limited speed, because occasionally it worked well, but most times had some strange failures. You can hear everything through the doors/walls (we could hear what our neighbors were talking) - maybe soundproofing the doors would help.
Review 109:Loved the view and location of this hotel, and the fact that place is very quiet and 5 minutes walking distance from Guaita Citadel and from most touristic attractions in this historic site. Also our room was nice and cozy, even if it was small and bathroom very small too (I think they have better rooms in the building, but were not available at the moment). Hosts were very nice, and they waited for our arrival until 1 a.m., as we were very late due to some car-rental issues. It was very interesting for us the fact that we had to move the car outside historic city walls (as cars are not allowed inside during day-time, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.) - but parking is available next to these walls, and also very near hotel. Breakfast is rather limited, as options, but tasty and always with fresh fruits, and very good cakes. In all, I would recommend this hotel as one of the best 3 star hotels I have ever stayed in.
Review 110:Internet connection was poor.
Review 111:The position was great and the staff very helpful. Breakfast was very good. We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Rosa and the impressive walled city of San Marino.
Review 112:early check out
Review 113:great location , very clean, it was open until very late which was very good for as because we arrived very late at the hotel.free parking and free breakfast.great breakfast.helpful staff
Review 114:The room was clean and really very nice, as the whole hotel; the breakfast was great, the location was excellent. The parking place near hotel was very comfortable. We would definitely recommend this hotel.
Review 115:No negative points at all :-)!!!!
Review 116:Located in a quiet corner, but 20 meters away from main street. Nice, welcoming staff, big, clean and convenient rooms. Incredible value for very reasonable price! Highly recommended!
Review 117:The breakfast could have been better if they would have added some scrambled eggs or something warm to it. Right now it basically consists of sandwiches and different kinds of sweet cakes.
Review 118:The location is great and even though you can't park or drive to/from the hotel during daytime the public parking just outside the old city wall is very close by and only a few minutes walk away. Since the hotel is at the very top of the city, the old fortress towers are easily accessed directly behind the hotel.
Review 119:Really clean,friendly staff,awesome dog at the reception,beautiful view,elevator,good location,parking,chocolate pastries at breakfast,good quality of sleep
Review 120:Not one single thing.
Review 121:We loved everything about this hotel. From the moment we arrived and to the time we left. Absolutely beautiful. An amazing location highest to the fort.
Review 122:Only 2 minor complaints: Bathroom was small. WiFi was slow.
Review 123:Location is great - very close to the second tower. Room wasn't spacious but it wasn't cramped, either. The breakfast was delicious, although it contained much more cake than my normal diet. There was this one pastry with chocolate filling that I just couldn't stop eating.
Review 124:- window towards to steps - very simple breakfast - not too fast WIFI - not operated restaurant
Review 125:- position to centre - parking - quit modern furniture - nice bathroom ( even too small)
Review 126:Not fault of hotel, but the parking info on site was incorrect- should have read that parking (actually trafic in city) was NOT permitted between 9am and 7pm. We had to park in city parking lot at our cost as we arrived before 7pm.
Review 127:Lovely quiet hotel, almost at the top of the hill in San Marino city. Absolutely stunning town, hotel was lovely with private balcony, quiet rooms, comfortable and clean. Breakfast was excellent. Free wifi. Close to many great restaurants
Review 128:Internet connection is absolutely not reliable; The breakfast is quite poor (not large variety) and after a few days it becomes boring
Review 129:The rooms were very clean, towels were changed every day
Review 130:Nothing.
Review 131:We had room 207 (junior suite). Very comfortable room with excellent view from the balcony. Breakfast was simple but tasty. Close to the hotel parking No. 6. The hotel itself is situated really close to all sightseeing places.
Review 132:An amazing little hotel in an amazing location. I highly recommend staying a night if you want an amazing European experiance. The city clears out shortly after 7:30 in the evening and you have an amazing opportunity to explore the city with no crowds. The hotel was amazingly easy to get to and presented no difficulty when I arrived.
The Fine Print
