Reviews for Comfort Inn JFK Airport
Review 1:Room slightly small, had to squeeze between the bed and the desk if anyone was sitting there.
Review 2:It was a nice clean motel, very good staff with information on busses, eating, wifi, etc. readily available. The breakfast was was good.
Review 3:couldn't get through busy phone signal to request shuttle for at least 15 minutes. isn't there another phone line?
Review 4:Clean, good bed, good breakfast, free shuttle to airport, friendly staff, minimal signs of wear
Review 5:Rooms look tired.
Review 6:Shuttle working through the night (every half hour or hour, depending on the time), good wifi, comfortable beds, tea/coffee available very early in the morning.
Review 7:Noisy location across from municipal trash trucks in and out constantly, and no hot water and an icy cold shower due to hot water being shut off in the evening and all night, and night manager lying to us about the hot water shut off
Review 8:nothing
Review 9:The room was too small and hard to move around. There were no good places to eat around the hotel area. It's far from everything.
Review 10:The bed was comfortable. Good shuttle service.
Review 11:It's a bit in the middle of nowhere just off a major highway: you cannot go out and look for restaurants, there are only some fast foods some blocks away. It's good for one night before/after flying, not more.
Review 12:Very friendly and helpful staff. Conveniently located from JFK airport, there's even a shuttle to/from the airport. Also connected to the Jamaica metro via shuttle.
Review 13:Very tired property, looked like other guests lived there and seemed to be mostly men, got some strange looks
Review 14:Room was ok, staff helpful, breakfast was ok
Review 15:No restaurant in hotel. Places to eat are a walk away on dimly lit streets. Hallway & room decor worn & tired.
Review 16:Hotel provides shuttle to & from JFK airport & from hotel a shuttle leaves twice a day to Jamaica subway station. Staff friendly & helpful.
Review 17:Desk chair a bit stained and one corner of bottom sheet had what looked like permanent black ink stain near the corner.
Review 18:The staff and breakfast were great and the comfort of the bed and bath very good. TV nice to watch.
Review 19:Breakfast could be better.
Review 20:Nice hotel to stay overnight before departure from JFK. The room is quiet, clean and convenient. There is shuttle bus from JFK.
Review 21:The Constitution Inn, Boston -you really need to lift your game. Here is a list of complaints across our two rooms... 1. Both rooms the same price, yet one is half the size of the other. 2. 2. Yes, the smaller room DOES have a kitchenette, but NO pots, pans, crockery, cutlery or glassware (so how are we supposed to use said kitchenette?!?) 3. The reception staff are incredibly unhelpful and rude. Couldn't even tell us what temperature their heated pool was nor what time the opening hours were - of their own facility! 4. The laundry - two out of four machines don't work, yet no signage to indicate such. I just transferred my washing, with product already added, through three machines til I found one that worked. 5. The housekeepers left USED (by previous occupants) cakes of soap in the shower, even after I asked for them to be removed. 6. In saying all this, the beds are the most comfortable I have slept in in some time. But given it cost the best part of $1000, I expect a little more. 7. After 15 years in restaurants/ hotels I'd be appalled if ANY of my staff treated any of my guests in the manner. It costs nothing to be polite and its your job to be informed of the facilities of the establishment that employs you
Review 22:Your beds were very comfortable!
Review 23:Nice hotel close to JFK. We traveled with 2 children. The room with two big beds was very good for us. Very clean and with everything what you need. Tasety breakfast with hot wafels and very helpful and open reception people. I recommend this hotel.
Review 24:On a weekend the subway connection is affected by engineering work, it took ages to get to manhattan. In the week, no problem.
Review 25:A very warm welcome and knowledgeable staff, the shuttle bus was a bonus.
Review 26:The first room card we received worked, but there was someone in the room, so we had to go back downstairs and get another room.
Review 27:We needed a place to get some rest before our flight home, that was near the airport.
Review 28:No ATM, but there is one across the street at the other hotel. Rooms are pretty small, and there is nothing close by to do, as it's industrial and all hotels in this neighborhood.
Review 29:It was convenient and close to the airport, with free wi-fi and free shuttles, clean & quiet - which is what I was looking for. Delivery from several restaurants, reasonable prices, and they hooked us up with a great tour of Manhatten.
Review 30:Carpets are showing their age -need to be replaced.
Review 31:Super friendly helpful staff assisted us with online check in for airline. Bathrooms super clean. Free newspaper. Shuttle service is really good
Review 32:We only stayed here because we had a 16hour layover. The hotel did the job. It was clean and the hotel staff was nice. They provide airport shuttle which is great!
Review 33:The restaurant was a drive away, and I realized that I could have ordered in from back of the room key. :) found out too late, but otherwise it was great.
Review 34:It was close to airport and car rental return, the complementary shuttle that picked me up from the car rental. And the friendly staff was lovely.
Review 35:All we needed was a clean place to crash near JFK Airport, and this perfectly fit that bill. Service was polite and helpful, room was clean, breakfast was fine.
Review 36:Area surrounding hotel not the most attractive ( if arriving late get a taxi) and not greatest smell either ( rubbish collection truck depot opposite!!)
Review 37:Great airport hotel- ideal for one night stopover. All facilities clean and tidy, good nights sleep and plentiful breakfast in the morning. Staff very knowledgeable and extremely helpful
Review 38:The room I ask for was non smoking, but the hallway had a lot of smoke sence.
Review 39:The staff was very helpful, I put money in the wrong machine to get a drink and he gave it back to me, I think that was so helpful. Thanks
Review 40:there was a party upstairs which I told reception about and they did nothing. would not even give me a discount for bad service and not making the birthday party in the hallway go to sleep after 12
Review 41:Hotel staff was very helpful, suggested take out food was so awesome. Breakfast was very convenient & nice variety. Bed & pillows were great!! Great nite sleep.
Review 42:Check-in was prompt and the front desk clerk made sure we had the correct information to catch the airport shuttle in the morning. The shuttle was right on time.
Review 43:there are few restaurants and supermarket nearby if you don't have a car..
Review 44:It has shuttle bus to pick up and the stuff is very nice. In addition, the breakfast is good.
Review 45:This hotel does not deserve to have even one star. It appears to be a dirty hotel of a third-world country, not to mention the fact that the road to the hotel is completely littered. We changed the room because I found some suspicious insects in the beds.
Review 46:The proximity to JFK was super, but the neighborhood was the dregs.
Review 47:Honest, friendly, helpful staff. We accidentally left valuables in the room for our day in the city. We put up the "Do Not Disturb" sign and not only was our room not disturbed, our worries over potential lost turned out to be happy relief.
Review 48:The whole hotel had a prevailing bad odour that suggested a thorough cleaning of the rooms and carpets was required.
Review 49:Breakfast was okay. The shuttle to and from various points was a plus.
Review 50:Not being informed of the hotel deciding to cancel us leaving my wife and I to find a hotel after 11 pm. We were never given a reason either.
Review 51:Nothing, they cancelled our booking without informing us, which was great as we were not able to get there until 11pm to check in and left us without a hotel in the middle of no where. No reason was given.
Review 52:expensive, small room, breakfast didn't start until 6, for an airport thats late. staff recommended places for food that was delivered 1) late 2)cold) 3) soggy and forgot to bring some of the order, from order to complete delivery 2 hrs 15 minutes
Review 53:desk staff helpful but misguided
Review 54:It was a pain to get to the shuttle, I wasn't told about it, I'd sent many emails to the hotel in advance and didn't get a single reply. I thought it was very pricey considering I check in so late and left the next morning. Wasn't value in that sense
Review 55:The bed was incredible, as too the pillows. Exactly what I wanted after a long day of travel. I also liked the free shuttle service
Review 56:We got in very late and the staff was not very helpful or friendly (with the exception of the shuttle driver who was great). The whole place seemed "dingy" and the room had a terrible damp odor. My wife and I were too tired to complain and would only be spending about hours sleeping as we had an early flight.
Review 57:Shuttle driver late at night was helpful and informative.
Review 58:All good
Review 59:Van picked me up right away when I called. The desk clerk was very helpful and friendly and got me checked in quickly. The room was very clean, quiet, and comfortable. The breakfast was a nice surprise with a very large selection of healthy foods, some of which were hot. The coffee was good and the shower was great.
Review 60:The service at the desk was very helpful and thorough. The rooms were clean and tidy, and so was the bathroom. Shuttle service every 30 mins was very helpful.
Review 61:The room is smelly and carpet dirty. The facility condition is deteriorating fast. The breakfast room is too small.
Review 62:The location is close to JFK, Wifi is free, The staff are friendly,
Review 63:Room was small, terrible breakfast. The hotel is very outdated.
Review 64:The hotel was close to the airport, which was exactly what we needed. The room was clean.
Review 65:Checked in at 1am, the room smelt of incredibly strong cleaning products enough to bring on a migraine, I had no choice but to move rooms at 2am. The second room being on a ground floor next to a staff cupboard which was in use all night, so every time I fell asleep I woke up shortly after to a banging door next to me. I got no sleep thanks to this and wasted 150 euro. I would have been better staying in the airport.
Review 66:The location was good. Close to the airport and they have a shuttle.
Review 67:when I booked the trip you didn't mention a smoking room. When we got to the hotel they had a smoking room reserved for us. We told them we would like them to arrange for another hotel for us and then they found a non smoking room.
Review 68:The internet connection was a bit poor. It disconnected many times when I was surfing.
Review 69:I liked the staff and their upbeat attitude, and also liked the closeness of the hotel to JFK airport, a customary heading for me in the past few years.
Review 70:-wifi was not accessible in room on 2nd stay; had to go to lobby to access -area around hotel very industrial but can't do much about that -hotel very tired looking at nothing special but I guess it's all built into the price
Review 71:-all staff (front desk, breakfast, transfer) very friendly and helpful -distance to JFK -free transfer available to airport and Marriott restaurant up the road -bed very comfortable and sheets very clean -decided to stay there on return leg of journey
Review 72:I was unfortunate enough to have had a room next door to the elevator shaft. The elevator which continued to function regularly until around 12:20 a.m - 1:00 am made a lot of noise Remember to ask for a room far from the elevator !! Rate relatively expensive if reserved at last minute
Review 73:The management was very helpful and the manager knocked at my door as soon as he arrived in the morning in response to a complaint left earlier. He dealt with the affair good naturedly and the issue was swiftly resolved to my entire satisfaction The shuttle buses (both from JFK and to Jamaica Station were very convenient and a definite plus
Review 74:Pretty expencive, but its how it is at JFK. Anywhere else this room would be 80 USD.
Review 75:Nice staff, the shuttle driver had a bad night when we arrive. Or perhaps its just his personality?
Review 76:The outside appearance could be improved. TheBest Western looked fresher across the street.
Review 77:The staff was very friendly & extremely helpful w/ sight seeing directions & tour offerings.....excellent & friendly!
Review 78:The room and hallway had a stale odor to it. I don't too much care for showers with curtains either
Review 79:It was close to JFK and they had a free shuttle to take us to the airport early in the morning. The receptionist was also very nice.
Review 80:It smells so bad, is not clean, the staff is extremely rude, there is noise all night long and no chance to sleep and rest after and before long flights.
Review 81:Nothing
Review 82:Room was small and cramped. Wifi was very slow.
Review 83:The bed was very comfortable. The take out menus were great after a long flight. Although the shower is over the bath, the side of the bath is low.
Review 84:Breakfast area was too small to accommodate all guests at the time.
Review 85:shuttle service was reliable I didn't have to make a call, it was there as promised and on time. The driver was helpful in loading and offloading our heavy luggage. Clean and comfortable bed, the best after sleeping in 4 hotels in 1 week.
Review 86:Only vending machine for food! Breakfast started 6am we left before this as did other people. Breakfast included in price Room too hot even with air conditioning Shabby street
Review 87:Close to airport Room clean Reception staff pleasant
Review 88:No bad experience but just the room was a little cramped for space for 2 large suitcases; just enough to "make do".
Review 89:Smiling, friendly personnel. Ease to get to recommended restaurant at the Fairfield - which had excellent food. Free pick up and drop off was timely and convenient.
Review 90:Place stunk of weed, and didn't seem very nice at first. But after initial first impressions, it's an ok place to stay if travelling.
Review 91:The location is a short uber/taxi ride from JFK airport. It will suit your needs before a flight.
Review 92:The only complaint I had was the size of the room. I stayed for alayover and it was a good room for a layover. Anyone wanting to staylonger may want to look at a different hotel/inn.
Review 93:- Location of the hotel- Staff was friendly and knowledgeable - Rooms were clean and tidy - Food delivery to the hotel was fast - Complimentary toothpaste :D (I forgot mine at home)
Review 94:The shuttle service from JFK was the only thing that lets this down. There seems to be no order to the process and the Comfort Inn instructions on their website are not up to date. When you arrive, catch the Airtrain to Federal Circle. Bypass the courtesy phones (they don't work) and exit to the right where the buses pull up and you can find out which one goes to your hotel.
Review 95:Had an overnight stop here as I was flying in late to JFK. A special thank you to the night receptionist (sorry I didn't catch his name) who made an effort to give me a quiet room. The hotel is old but very serviceable - bed was wonderfully comfortable.
Review 96:In need of refreshments vs interior, looks like it was done in the earls 80's the last time? Lampshades etc were broken hence hard to clean. Breakfast was OK but stop using all that plastic forks, knifes, dishes etc. And all food must not come in a plastic containers. - More expensive for the Hotel aswell? (The lady managing the thing did a great job, do.)
Review 97:Staf was friendly, wanting to help. Bed and pillows were super comfy (I checked old reviews .... So I asked for a room far away from the elevator - which was good, because it was noisy and people starting to use it at 5-6 am). Good Wi-fi. Close to the JFK and frequent free returns (pickups).
Review 98:Hotel is far away from subway, however complementary shuttle will drop you of at Jamaica ( per schedule at 9 or 11)or federal circle ( every hour). Over all we were happy.
Review 99:Complimentary shuttle picked us from airport around 11 pm after a very long flight. Stuff was very nice and helpful. Great place if you going back to airport next day.
Review 100:Location of the facility is far from any restaurants or bars. The surroundings is not pleasant for walking around. No beverages or food available in hotel or mini-bar.
Review 101:Comfortable and clean room, as advertised.
Review 102:Breakfast could start earlier than 6am.
Review 103:Easy to check in, free wifi, free coffee, couldn't tell you about then breakfast, left before it was ready.
Review 104:The hotel advertises a 24-hour airport shuttle, when we arrived after midnight we followed instructions to the correct station at the airport where we were to use a telephone to call the hotel and arrange pick-up. Upon speaking to the hotel we were informed that the shuttle bus finished at midnight and we would have to get a taxi. Being 7 months pregnant and tired after a long flight this was unacceptable. We chose this hotel based on the availability of a shuttle bus and were disappointed to be let down. The hotel could do with some updating as although it wasn't dirty, the old facilities gave an appearance of it being a bit old and grubby.
Review 105:This hotel was close to the airport which is what we needed after arriving late. The breakfast was basic but sufficient for a quick bite before we headed into the city.
Review 106:According to the description in internet the airport shuttle operates 24 h... but that was not the case. We had to call a cap cause our flight departed very early.
Review 107:Staff were friendly and helpful
Review 108:On arriving at jfk in the middle of the night I had expected to get the free bus to the hotel however when I eventually got to the collection spot I was told it wasn't running and I'd need to get a taxi. This cost me $120! Not a good experience for a female traveller on her own.
Review 109:The bed and the shower were lovely.
Review 110:Staff was great--1 or 2 minor issues with room, but they didn't really affect quality of my stay because the staff members were very attentive and responsive.
Review 111:was fine but for $130 they need some new carpet to make the room 'feel' a bit cleaner/newer as the building and rooms are old.
Review 112:Great locatio(close to airport). Shuttle was on time and frequent. Staff was friendly.
Review 113:Neighbourhood wasn't nice at all, outside of the rooms very run down, asked to move rooms initially the first room was ground floor backing on to car park v easily accessible didn't seem secure
Review 114:Really comfortable bed, great choice on tv, breakfast was quite good
Review 115:Only negative was no take out breakfast as it was included but we had to catch a flight before breakfast was available.
Review 116:Very convenient free shuttle from JFK to hotel. Friendly, helpful staff. Very clean and comfortable room with free wifi.
Review 117:Property a bit tired needs refurbishment.
Review 118:Staff very helpful shuttle reliable got into NewYork on Metro $2.75 each way pp cab to station $30 dinnerin Time Square and back to hotel. All very doable for us who came from overseas.
Review 119:There were some load guests who woke us up a couple of times in the night.
Review 120:Convenient to the airport with good shuttle service back and forth to the airport. This was of prime importance to us this trip.
Review 121:Totally helpful and friendly greeting when we arrived with way too much luggage which needed to be stored safely. Made out day after a long trip! Thank you.
Review 122:There's nothing much in the area so it isn't really possible to go wander around if you're bored. Also, I didn't receive a receipt/bill for my room. I e-mailed them asking for it but never received a reply. This step is necessary to charge the room to company expenses. If the staff get back to me I'll change my review to reflect it.
Review 123:Shuttle service was fast and friendly. Staff were polite and helpful. Bedroom was clean an comfortable. Included a book with lots of food delivery services which turned out to be quite nice.
Review 124:I didn't like the first floor room. I like to be on upper floors
Review 125:Friendly helpful staff. Decent breakfast. Close the airport which was the most important for me. Good shuttle.
Review 126:The shuttle bus driver was rather grumpy and sarcastic.
Review 127:We stayed for one night before out onward journey to D.C. Comfy bed and a nice selection for breakfast of sausage, egg, waffles and various breads and bagels.
Review 128:Not somewhere to stay if you plan on being there any longer than a layover, considering the location. The beds were pretty hard and the facilities are incredibly dated, but overall it was a good deal.
Review 129:The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly, and the process for catching a shuttle to and from the airport was certainly easy and worth it. One of the better breakfast selections I've seen at similar hotels in a while, with fruit, waffles, donuts, cereal, etc. And you can tell the staff member who managed the breakfast spread took great care with this process and wanted her guests to feel welcome.
Review 130:The night staff were smoking in the lobby it smelled awful and I had a room right next to the lobby.THEY WERE ALSO PLAYING AROUND AND GOOFING OFF IN THE LOBBY
Review 131:The morning and day staff were very pleasant and the breakfast was good
Review 132:The rooms are very small hardly any room for my luggage, the free breakfast was very basic. Also the shuttle to the hotel didn't have a clear indication as to which shuttle it was a bit confusing as there were many names on the it and the driver didn't make an attempt to ask people waiting I had to knock on the class.
Review 133:It was ok close to the airport, free wifi and also there was a free shuttle to and from the airport.
Review 134:Cramped rooms, need updating. Breakfast room very small. Couldn't accommodate our group. Hotel areas small in general but not much you can do about it. Never got the WiFi to work.
Review 135:Location. We had an early flight the next day from JFK. Breakfast was good. For New York the price was very fair.
Review 136:Very limited TV channels (no ESPN), patchwork ceilings (not properly finished work), especially in the bathroom but also in the bedroom of room 305. It was not the best value for the money. I'll stay elsewhere next time.
Review 137:The room size was good and the room was clean. The staff were courteous.
Review 138:We chose this hotel mainly because of it's close location to the JFK airport and it included free shuttle service to the airport, free WiFi and breakfast. The hotel was clean and comfortable and the staff was very pleasant and helpful from giving us advise and directions on how to get into and around town, to navigating back and forth from the airport, to printing our boarding passes for us. And all for a reasonable price accommodation. We would definitely stay there again.
