Reviews for Helen Hotel

Review 1:Great central location in Canakkale. Room at the rear of the property meant the road noise wasn't an issue. Clean room and bathroom, comfortable beds, good air-con and really good buffet breakfast. All we needed and value for money.

Review 2:Nothing

Review 3:Very good hotel, we stayed for 1 night in our way to Kusadaso. Excellent breakfast, good variety of food. Very clean rooms. Very close to ferry station, right in the center

Review 4:Air conditioning directly over bed so noisy and drafty. Street noise at front.

Review 5:Helpful staff... Good English. Great location for centre, ferries, Gallipoli tours, coach companies.

Review 6:Very minor and not the hotel's fault - access to the car park is through narrow backstreets which form a one-way system. One day one of these streets was closed, which meant a few minutes driving around to find a way back to the main road.

Review 7:Excellent location 2 minutes' walk from the ferry terminal, friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable rooms

Review 8:Sound proofing - the guy next door snorred really loud and we could hear it perfectly from our room :). But it's really not a big deal unless you are a sensitive sleeper.

Review 9:The hotel is perfectly located in the center and 3 minutes from the ferry, but what makes it special is the experience that the staff offers, even for a one-night stay. We had a great welcome and good-bye gifts (souvenir, sandwiches for the trip) - it goes for both Helen and Helen Park, which are basically different wings of the same hotel. The room was comfortable and spacious, more than enough for a short (or even long) stay.

Review 10:1. The room, was very, very noisy, dirty and very small for a triple room; 2. The bathroom was very dirty, you can't make a shower in good conditions; 3.We could not sleep well because the room was with the street view and traffic by the ferry was stopped at 3am. Conclusion : horrible.

Review 11:Breakfast was acceptable, if it were more varied would have been good.

Review 12:The parking place was very narrow.

Review 13:It is near the ferry-boat harbour. The room was clean and the breakfast was good.

Review 14:Room very small , noise from water pipes and neighbours was annoying. Breakfast okay and substantial. Location near ferry and restaurants good.

Review 15:Pretty good - not amazing.

Review 16:Small rooms

Review 17:Breakfast great

Review 18:Noise

Review 19:Location

Review 20:Location was great. Room comfortable and bathroom basic but good.

Review 21:Small room, noisy street

Review 22:Availability of the parking place They had given us a sandwich and a fruit juice for the trip, after we had a nice breakfast

Review 23:Internet wasn't unworkable.

Review 24:The noise from the street.

Review 25:The staff, the location.

Review 26:Bathroom : very old equipment Staffs : there was no attendance to the room. not giving recipient sheet until I ordered.

Review 27:Good locations

Review 28:Good location, good food at the breakfast . Renovated rooms. Good value for money

Review 29:good breakfast,, ideal location, clean and quiet. All round good hotel. Two lifts!

Review 30:- Breakfast could be better - Bathromm could be bigger

Review 31:- Location - Price - Car Park

Review 32:Bed was terrible and so was pillow

Review 33:Location and car spot

Review 34:untidy, rust and mold in bathroom. 7.0 is closer to what I found

Review 35:location

Review 36:Nothing, everything was fine.

Review 37:The Helen Hotel is situated in the town centre and near to the harbour. Our room was comfortable and clean and a traditional Turkish was provided, which was excellent. The staff were all very friendly and helpfull.

Review 38:Went during peak season. Incredibly loud outside, ferries running continuously - very busy. Bed was hard - not great.

Review 39:Great central location amongst the restaurants, close to the Ferry. Really clean facilities, lovely staff.

Review 40:The room was crowded, no comfortable chair, only one English speaking TV channel. Also I paid in TL but was not given a receipt.(480TL).

Review 41:Nice room with three beds and a sea view (through a side window). The hotel is centrally located but it can be noicy at night.

Review 42:The first thing we were impressed with was the very friendly and openhotel manager. The rooms are clean and sound-proofed (it's very close tothe ferry, yet you do not hear the noise outside), while the restauranthas a very nice design and provides one of the best breakfasts inCanakkale. Video surveillance over the parking lot. We highly recommendthis hotel both for city trips and for a stop-over on your way toTurkish seaside resorts.

Review 43:Hotel Helen was in a great location - close to everything in the town and the waterfront. It was comfortable, clean, and having a computer for use in the foyer was very helpful for the rest of our travels.

Review 44:Excellent location, staff and breakfast. Happy with car park. Rooms even had little seaview! It is not the first time at Hotel Helen, we had a good remembering of them, but this time they exceeded expectations. Congratulations!

Review 45:Good location about 50m straight off the ferry wharf. Rooms were big and clean and breakfast was ok. On site parking but if that gets full they have a number of different car parks to use. Only stayed the one night but would be happy to recommend.

Review 46:The staff at the hotel were extremely friendly and accommodating throughout our stay. Especially the manager whose English is very good and who was warmly welcoming and unbelievably helpful. I have stayed all over the world but I have not encountered service better than I received at the Helen hotel. The location was brilliant; close to the ferry point where most journeys around the local area would begin and about 5 mins to the seafront and all the restaurants and shops. Our room had a lovely sea view and was immaculate. I checked behind a radiator and even that had been cleaned thoroughly. The breakfast was very good. The Helen Hotel is exceptional value for money. My girlfriend broke her wrist and we did not manage to see everything we wanted to in the area surrounding Canakkale so we will be returning and will be happily staying in the hotel again. If you are planning on visiting Troy or Gallipoli, or just Canakkale itself, the Helen hotel would provide an excellent place to stay and unbeatable value for money.

Review 47:We stayed two nights at Helen Park Hotel after going to Gallipoli. Thishotel was excellent. Spacious room, quiet location, fantastic staff, great breakfast, availability of tea and coffee throughout the day inbreakfast area, reception staff had good command of English, good valuefor money hotel! I would recommend this hotel.

Review 48:There was nothing that we didn't like at the room that they offered us as a non-smoking one at Helen Park hotel.

Review 49:Excellent location - especially if you are gonna use the ferry. Stuff are very welcoming and helpful. I hadn't any particular expectation from the hotel since we planned to stay for only a night. We have checked in the hotel very late (02:00 at night). The room that is reserved was not a non-smoking one and not clean as expected from a three star hotel. When we told our problem, stuff initially said that everyone checked in and no place left at the hotel, however in 5 minutes they moved us to their newly decorated hotel (Helen Park) Those are two buildings next to each other connected with a small passage. But now I can announce that it is worth staying at Helen Park Hotel since stuff treated the Guest very friendly. Breakfast was awesome and more importantly it is great value for money.

Review 50:A dearth of hooks in the bathroom and little shelf space. No radio.Bedside lamps very high and too weak to read by. Free internet not verygood. Better to go round the corner to an internet cafe which chargesjust one lire per hour.

Review 51:A1 location. Attentive staff. Spacious room. Excellent buffet breakfastselection.

Review 52:The location was close to ferries providing access to Gallipoli the visit to the battlefields being the reason for our visit. We would recommend Helen Hotel to anyone.

Review 53:Helen Hotel was perfectly adequate as a low cost hotel. Where it fallsdown a bit is in the friendliness of its staff. It is a little cold andimpersonal and never really makes you feel like a welcome guest. This isa big contrast with the other Turkish hotels we have stayed in andbecause of this it is very noticeable. Apart from this, it is fine andthe hotel is in a very good location for everything

Review 54:Excellent Location just besides the ferry across to Gallipoli

Review 55:Staff was extremely helpful, came out to guide me to car park (which wasunder construction and a bit hard to find otherwise). Quick check-in/check-out, lots of help on local info and travel to Troy the next day. Roomwas comfortable, not fancy, but I don't expect more for 50 euro! Again, staff went far beyond what would be considered average.

Review 56:The furniture was a little dated, but the hotel was very clean and comfortable

Review 57:Great location, just a few minutes from the ferry port and good value for money. The breakfast was nice and the staff friendly.

Review 58:I loved the location. We drove off the ferry and 1.5 blocks later pulledup in front. Friendly staff, immaculately clean, and a great breakfastthe next morning. Right beside the waterfront so many choices fordinner, too. Cannot beat Helen Hotel.

Review 59:our room overlooked the street and it was pretty noisy. The bed was hard.

Review 64:It is a good location. Everything was fine. It is a good place to stay for a couple of days.

Review 65:The breakfast choice was a bit poor.

Review 66:Its central location, the welcome tea and pastries, the parking lot (free) right behind the hotel.

Review 67:The staff were very helpful. It was the best location for us as we were next to the Ferry but still close enough to restaurants.
