Reviews for Mayflower Park Hotel

Review 1:Great location in the heart of the downtown Seattle retailers. The Andaluca restaurant had delicious and convenient breakfast service and we were in walking distance of many fine dining restaurants for dinner.

Review 2:Would like to have a microwave and a little fridge in my room.

Review 3:Nice Elevator Security!! The classic room has more space than other hotels with very comfortable bed!! I slept very good during my short stay.

Review 4:We were given a suite which allowed us to sit and enjoy our morning coffee while one member of our party slept. We had two bathrooms and lovely bathrobes to lounge in. Really felt pampered.

Review 5:The bathroom was small. And I had to reprogram the remote which wasn't a big deal. The restaurant is really pricey. We didn't end up eating there so can't speak for the food.

Review 6:We stayed in the king suite and it was very spacious. Staff was very friendly. And location was wonderful. The bar "Oliver's" was great.

Review 7:We had asked for a quiet room. On checking in we paid for an upgrade room which seemed very comfortable. On the first night we were awoken @ 2 a.m. by loud talking from the room next door. The second night we were awakened @ 3.30 a.m. by different occupants of the room next door with very loud talking, shouting and laughing. We called the desk who said they would send up security. The noise continued for at least another hour, we never heard anyone knock on their door. Upon checkout I brought this to the attention of the desk clerk who seemed to care less. The restaurant was advertised as being open for breakfast each day until 11 a.m. Maybe that should read "closed" @ 11. Our first morning we arrived their @ 10.50 a.m. after using the gym facilities first thing, only to be told firmly that it was now closed. The second morning we arrived @ 10.25 a.m. and were told the same thing due to a private function later that morning. Disappointing.

Review 8:The location was excellent.

Review 9:could do with a mini refrigerator. room was abit small. staff could be friendlier.

Review 10:great location, room was 'retro' - dated but classy. you're paying for privilege of staying in a 'heritage hotel' in a great location, but not much else.

Review 11:This is an older hotel, so walls are thin and we could hear talking from other rooms.

Review 12:Great location for visiting Seattle, it's within easy walking distance of a number of sights and right by the lightrail that heads down to the airport.

Review 13:Could have used a refrigerator in the room.

Review 14:Staff were excellent--answered all questions quickly and made great suggestions for food, sightseeing, and travel. Two bathrooms in the double queen room was very convenient.

Review 15:My only complaint is that the bed was too soft. Some people probably like their bed that soft, but not me.

Review 16:Nice building, great location and very helpful and friendly staff.

Review 17:Parking a bit of an issue. Central location means expensive parking. Some in our group opted for valet parking when they booked. A wise choice.

Review 18:We spent time in the room above the front desk where 8 of us were able to sit and play cards and scrabble. Very comfortable common room. We were perhaps fortunate that no other group was using it however. --The location was superb. Staff were efficient and effective. They were helpful to those who wanted to check in early, and did not regard that as an imposition.

Review 19:Slow elevator

Review 20:Sasha at front desk was very friendly, accommodating & great to deal with. All the staff were great. Love staying there. Yearly stay with sisters.

Review 21:We didn't use the valet parking due to the high cost. I believe if you spend nearly $200 for the room, then parking should either be free or reduced.

Review 22:Great room! A little larger than what we got the previous 2 visits there!

Review 23:No bad experiences, other than parking and traffic can be a challenge. That was why, on this stay, we choose not to rent a car and used the light rail, monorail, and buses, instead.

Review 24:Central location that connects to the light rail and terminus of the monorail to Seattle Center. 4 blocks from Pike Market, across from Macy's, and many good restaurants nearby. Very friendly staff, nice rooms, and lobby has interesting exhibit on the hotel's glamorous history.

Review 25:The dollar exchange was tough on us Canadians this year. We will have to stay away from Seattle until it evens out. So sad we love Seattle and the Mayflower experience.

Review 26:My only 'complaint' is that the elevators were slow to arrive in the lobby & as they were small, staff sometimes had to wait & let guests go first. I am sure that would be frustrating for staff. It would help if there was even a panel that showed what floor the elevator was on. That way guests would have a sense of how long the wait would be.

Review 27:The hotel has old world elegance & charm. It is obvious that the property is well loved & cared for by the owners. The staff were friendly & professional. The location couldn't have been better. Our room was delightful & had everything we required. The room service was excellent too.

Review 28:Our room was on the 5th floor and we could hear the traffic from the street very loudly, so much I had to wear earplugs to sleep. Also, could hear everything happening in nearby rooms making it hard to sleep at night. Elevators were old, slow and out of service regularly.

Review 29:Great location. Neat older hotel with lots of character. Bar and restaurant with the hotel very nice. Full sized shampoo and conditioner and lotion.

Review 30:The bed wasn't new. It was only so so. We had a view of the air shaft. Ask for a higher floor than 5. Bathroom lay out was awkward and the Hobbit height shower head was low low low.

Review 31:Loved the location, friendly staff, and excellent restaurant on site. The common areas were lovely.

Review 32:Unfortunately there are only 2 small elevators. No indoor pool or spa.

Review 33:Hotel was perfect location. Walking distance to just about everything. Very attentive and personable staff. Oliver's Lounge had the best bartender! 2 full baths in our room.

Review 34:High parking cost and tough to get what I'd call a bargain - more of a splurge place.

Review 35:All staff very friendly, great location for shipping, our room was very nicely appointed and actually quiet.

Review 36:Absolutely love the location in "do everything central". Rooms were quiet from neighbors and the view of the Macy's star and Westlake Park from the room was pretty cool. Very good staff all around, each one does their part to make sure to fulfill requests and make your stay a good one. We just really enjoy our time staying here when we're in Seattle due to Mayflower Park Hotel's charm and location.

Review 37:We have absolutely nothing yo complain about.

Review 38:Everyone is friendly. We love having the bar before heading out or on return. Concierge is invaluable as we ask for recommendations every time we stay (usually an annual trip)

Review 39:Rooms were incredibly dusty, horrible allergy attacks (and I do not have bad allergies, this has never happened in a hotel before).

Review 40:Staff was wonderful

Review 41:Not a bad experience; it would be nice to have a fan in the bathroom for ventilation since there is no window.

Review 42:I like the location; we could walk to basically everything we wanted to see. The lobby and rooms are beautiful and we had a nice view of the city lights. Liked having a bathrobe for use during our stay. I've stayed at the Mayflower a number of times over the years since I left Seattle 12 years ago and every stay is a treat!

Review 43:The elevators were very slow. I understand that in an old building its difficult to add staff elevators but this did mean that we were waiting for the lifts on average about 10 minutes.

Review 44:We loved the style of the hotel and the staff were very lovely and helpful. The room was beautifully appointed and we had a great view.

Review 45:I really like fine old hotels, and the Mayflower Park is one. Location is very good (near a favorite Italian restaurant of mine) and rates are very reasonable. I pass through Seattle 2-3 times a year and this is my home away from home.

Review 46:Nothing to mention....

Review 47:Friendly staff, room ready for early check in, good value for money in downtown Seattle, short walk to Link train to airport (40 minutes, $3/person for Seniors).

Review 48:Check-in a bit muddled about the online bookings. Senior staff Ok butless experienced staff took too long to book us in Bar and restaurantbadly lit (dim lighting) Lobby looks a bit shabby Breakfast finishedearlier than expected - didn't get what I wanted (arranged for thetour company in the bar)

Review 49:Good restaurant in hotel Dinner and breakfast in the restaurant werevery good Easy to get to tourist areas eg pike Place Market and Spaceneedle Comfortable

Review 50:The Mayflower Park Hotel is right where you want to be. It's blocks away from Pike Place, the sights and harbor ferries. Staff was very friendly and accommodating to our 1.5 year old.

Review 51:When the hotel had no record of our booking they handled the situation well and found us an equivalent room that I had booked weeks before. My son and I also really liked the fact that our room had 2 bathrooms.

Review 52:The size of the room was a pleasant surprise. The staff were helpful and friendly-especially the concierge who helped me plan out our day in Seattle. The location was great for sightseeing.

Review 53:The lifts where not working one evening and we had to take the stairs to level 12 the rest of our stay was ok at least there was one lift working at a time

Review 54:the computers were all down when we arrived, so we had to wait for 2 hours before we could check in, there are only 2 elevators on this property, so it took a while to get up and down as well, it was very noisy at night!

Review 55:we loved that fact that we had two bathrooms, which was, of course a little overdone, but fun.. the room was adequate, clean, and the staff was very nice..

Review 56:Lack of charging station for phones and electronics, the lamps weren't sufficient lighting in the room.

Review 57:I liked the upgrade upon arrival, room's spacious and clean.

Review 58:Way too much money for what you got. Tiny bed in a tiny room. Could have stayed at fairmont with king bed for same price.

Review 59:The staff was great. Very friendly and helpful

Review 60:Like all Seattle it is expensive!

Review 61:Good central location, hotel gave us an upgraded room which was really nice as we'd a 2 week old baby with us. Staff were very helpful also.

Review 62:There was nothing I didn't like. But the room was so tiny we previously stayed at a different location a block away for the same price and the rooms were much bigger. I chose this location because of its historical flare but other than the beautiful lobby the rooms just felt older and small. No wow factor for me so it wasn't worth the money

Review 63:The staff we're VERY friendly and helpful. The location was great easy walk to everything. Very clean

Review 64:Great location in center of Seattle, close to downtown, Pike Street Market, Space Needle, good restaurants, etc. Our suite was large, clean, and comfortable. The concierge provided very helpful suggestions.

Review 65:Even though it was a historic hotel, not much of a grand hotel feel was evident. But it was a nice, clean, comfortable, well-run hotel. Good service. Good sized rooms. Great location.

Review 66:The biggest disappointment was there was no food after 10:00 pm.in thehotel. We had The front desk informed us that there was only onerestraruant 2 blocks away thattwas still opened. It was way over pricedfor the extremley small portions of food that the 2 of us had, 1 drink aea, split a litterly 6 bite salad , And we both order the meat skewers. They came on the same plate and were the 6 tiniest Skewers of meat Ihave ever been served. Each skewer was one bite-.although the meat wasgood who could afford it at $29.00. futhering our disapointment- in themorning we walk to starbucks for a Latte and discovered that pf Changswas right next door and was open late the night before . :-(

Review 67:The most comfortable bed I have slept in a hotel room ever!. And ...theearly check in ..We were doing a fund raiser Thursday night and had tobe there at 2:30. Really helped to be able to check in beforeand freshenup.. Thank you for that :-)

Review 68:Bathroom was very small with next to no counter space.

Review 69:Very friendly and helpful staff; excellent location downtown within easy walking distance of most major landmarks and public transit.

Review 70:Great location within walking distance of many popular places. Also, it's very close to the monorail, light rail, and Enerald City trolley stops. It's such a pretty, historic hotel! Loved having glass coffee mugs and Starbucks for the provided coffee maker.

Review 71:When we checked in there was only one person at the desk who didn't know much. After an exhausting trip, we arrived at th hotel after 10:00 and we waited at least 45 minutes until we could check in.

Review 72:Although this was a short, one-night stay in Seattle for my wife and I along with our grown daughter, we greatly enjoyed the experience at the Mayflower Park Hotel and surrounding area of Seattle. Having a comfortable room with two queen beds and two bathrooms was especially nice. In the future, we hope to come back for a longer stay and see more of Seattle.

Review 73:We had a deluxe double and I loved that our room had two bathrooms. That was awesome. My husband had one and my daughter and I shared the other. What's not to love about that?! The location was perfect for the sightseeing we planned and close to the public transportation. We would definitely stay here again. Also, the concierge services were wonderful with great restaurant recommendations and directions. We had an incredible view from our room.

Review 74:One minor thing was the large amt of homeless but we found by taking 5th rather than walking on 4 th was an improvement

Review 75:Liked the location, Concierge was fantastic, all kinds of info. Everyone in the hotel was courteous and accommodating, cannot understand some complaints we read before we booked it

Review 76:Historic luxury hotel in business district - great location near waterfront, monorail for Space Needle and shops. Very comfortable rooms and cool bar.

Review 77:Try to get a room facing the street. I had one facing the inside court and there was too much noise from what I guess was the restaurant's air condition equipment.

Review 78:Very nice hotel in a great location. Very clean, comfortable bed and very nice decoration. Excellent service.

Review 79:Excellent location in downtown Seattle, walking distance to restaurants, shops and attractions. Staff are efficient, friendly and helpful. Property is well maintained and very comfortable. Free wi-fi is excellent. We've stayed at this property several times over the years and always return whenever visiting Seattle.

Review 80:The hotel promotes a Happy Hour with signage saying that drinks including Martinis, Cocktails and Boutique Beers however when presented with the tab all our drinks (including martinis and a cocktail) were not included - we questioned this and were advised that free snacks only were covered by the term Happy Hour but they were not offered to us nor anyone in our immediate area - very misleading and disappointing

Review 81:The hotel was close to shopping area and easy walking to a couple of Seattle attractions

Review 82:There is a need to pay attention to details: for example pleaseregularly check and service items in the room. Batteries for the tvremote were dead and battery for safe also dead (either that or thesafe wasn't working). Meaning on late arrival, after 18 hours offlying, neither of them worked and I was too exhausted to deal withthem, given other business pressures requiring my attention. Detailsmake a difference and I am not a guest who likes having to deal withitems management should ensure work. Logging on to internet was unusalas well, make it standard and simpler. My room lacked a mini-fridgewhich I needed and it should be noted in advertising that not all roomshave fridges.

Review 83:Location. Traditional hotel. Great staff.

Review 84:room was small and inconvenient. the bathroom was terrible, with toliet right on the door, no place for tolietries or hair products. Was getting ready for wedding and no place to dry hair or put on make up etc Cramped!

Review 85:location

Review 86:Staff said they would text us when room was ready, but never did. Most did not seem happy in their jobs. Hair on bathroom counter when we checked in.

Review 87:Great soft sheets. Convenient location. Friendly and polite young man took our bags upstairs.

Review 88:The doormen could use a little refresher on customer service, I hate to generalize here because some were great, but two men, one the younger side, one with kind of blonde never said hello or opened the door. That's the only thing I noticed that would be an area for improvement.

Review 89:Great bar, nice staff, although the rooms were very small they were comfy and clean. We will stay here again.

Review 90:The room was small as was the bathroom. There was really not a good place to hang the bathroom hand towel. Starbucks coffee is ok but only selection was dark roast and very strong.

Review 91:Hotel accommodated a high floor away from the elevator. Loved the bath products! Bed was very comfy. Location was very good; everything was a short walk away. Staff very nice.

Review 92:I love older hotels which is why I really like the Mayflower Park. The staff is excellent and they have a very nice restaurant and a bar where you feel right at home. Very good value.

Review 93:Knowing it is an old hotel, I am still shocked to see no fridge in the room. The bathroom is really tiny and floor is half flooded after shower no matter how you adjust the shower curtain.

Review 94:Friendly staff, great location

Review 95:asked to check in early said they would call us never did, went back to hotel at 2 asked again if our room was ready, no and they said they would call never did, checked in after 6 PM , told desk they never called us , when they said they would twice, it was an oh well attitude, it is ready now at 6 PM. Stayed at this hotel so we could site see and rest at room never happene since room was not ready .

Review 96:not that impressed

Review 97:Bathroom tile floor grout needs to be cleaned.

Review 98:Location and key card activated elevator. Historic hotel but everything was new and updated in the room.

Review 99:Quality of room for the rate we paid. For what we paid I expected a better view or a little bigger room.

Review 100:Location was excellent. We could easily get to all the attractions we had planned to visit. Great place to stay for a short trip to Seattle or for a pre-cruise day.

Review 101:It is an old hotel, so the walls are a little thin and you can hear quite a lot of noise from other rooms and hallways.

Review 102:My daughter, granddaughter and I stayed at the Mayflower for two nights. The hotel is a beautiful historic hotel located close to everything in downtown Seattle. We couldn't have asked for a better location or better accommodations. Everyone at the hotel was so friendly and helpful. I needed a refrigerator for medication, and they delivered one to our room almost immediately--even before we had opened a suitcase. We all loved the hotel and plan to make this an annual girls' trip--and will, of course, stay at the Mayflower!

Review 103:Great location for sightseeing in Seattle. A close walk to all the major sights and public transit connections. Staff very helpful. Lots of local restaurants nearby or just a short walk away. Very glad we chose this hotel for our stay!

Review 104:The bathroom was small; obviously this is an old hotel, but it was hard to find places to keep our things neat.

Review 105:The location was terrific. The bed was very comfortable.

Review 106:If you want to be picky, the elevators were slow.

Review 107:My wife and I were the "guests of the day" so we were upgraded to a 2 room king suite. GOD also includes free parking and breakfast for 1. The room was really comfy and had 2 bathrooms also.

Review 108:The hotel reminded me of an old-fashioned elegant English hotel but with all the up-to-date facilities. Extremely well-located for sightseeing with a shopping mall connected to the hotel side door (including access to the monorail), ten minutes walk to Pike Market, Macys on one side and Nordstrom on the other, and Pacific Centre with its shops, cinemas and restaurants two blocks away. The staff were so helpful with all our queries and arranged shuttle pick-up to our ship.

Review 109:For a long weekend stay the location couldn't be beat. The proximity to public transportation (Light Rail and Monorail) was great. Lots of amenities with two malls and many restaurants near by, plus a drug store and small grocery.

Review 110:I'm a highly unsuccessful songwriter who sometimes just needs to get away from everything. The sunflower is one of my favorite creative places. In the modern age it still manages to retain its unique character. It truly is a one of a kind hotel.

Review 111:I was disappointed in the gym facilities which were very limited. The shower pressure was low and there was no mini fridge in the room which was a nuisance. I also would have preferred a king bed.

Review 112:The location was good. .

Review 113:Parking was quite expensive. Although coffee was available in room, there is no refrigerator so only powdered milk substitute Room was rather small, musky odor cleared with opening the windows

Review 114:Easy walking to Pike St Market, theaters and shopping Beautiful lobby Adjacent restaurant that accompanies parties of 6 or less

Review 115:The room smelled suspiciously of insect repellent, which had been tried to be covered over by lots of air freshener. Quite old-fashioned decor in the rooms which could do with an update. The TV stopped working a few times.

Review 116:Very friendly staff, excellent location. We were lucky in having a corner room which had great views and was quite big compared to some of the other rooms we managed to get a glimpse of. Good breakfast but expensive.

Review 117:I made reservations for couple traveling with us and they were upgraded to nice suite I worked hard on all reservations for whole trip and should have been me that got upgrade oh well to bad maybe next time

Review 118:the bar was cool place to sit and watch people outside

Review 119:I did not check if there was a heath club or not but I would love to if i had some time

Review 120:I liked the welcomeness and the warmth at the reception, the room was elegantly furnished and the beds were comfortable

Review 121:Very good service. Its a classic older hotel, so the rooms are not huge. But its well maintained, clean and very comfortable. They know how to treat guests.

Review 122:Would like a fridge and if breakfast was included in the room rate ?

Review 123:Location, lovely suite we each had a bathroom and we had a lounge.Restaurant very good. Staff great. Train to airport and Skytower fabulous

Review 124:Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was very clean and comfortable. Location is great, can walk to most downtown shopping, restaurants. I was on the 12th floor and it was very quiet.

Review 125:kids weren't allowed in the lounge area at all, even at a table very far from the bar. That got old during our entire trip in Seattle. The best restaurants/bars had a space cordoned off around the actual bar stools so minors were not allowed inside that area but they could be outside that area. Much better because they could at least be on the premises. There is no comfortable place to relax with a cocktail if you are with your family.

Review 126:The beds were comfy, the staff was nice, the location was perfect.
