Reviews for Palmer House

Review 1:I liked the staff - both were so friendly and warm and helpful and cheerful. Made me feel welcome. The room too was great - spacious and totally missing that awful noxious cleaning liquid smell you find in most motels!! Loved it.

Review 2:Location was great ,the grounds we're superb,we could walk to the restaurant, self service breakfast was a great idea , very helpful staff , price was very good

Review 3:Breakfast should be included. They ask for you to pay on the honor system but noticed most do not. It is continental and for price of room it should be included. Will never get breakfast again

Review 4:Location is great. Place is very clean. People very nice.

Review 5:We loved the spacious suite and the location. Everything was clean and well maintained. Staff were cheerful and helpful. Continental breakfast was enough for us and a bargain. Our only disappointment was the lack of any eating utensils or paper napkins in the full kitchen of the suite.

Review 6:The furniture in my room was worn; they can get some new things.

Review 7:I enjoyed the indoor pool and the continental breakfast for $2.50. The staff were very friendly.

Review 8:We were expecting an inn type of accommodation based on the photos on the internet but we're surprised with a drive up motel style. Bathroom was oddly located and bath and toilet chamber was very small. Although it worked for us and it was clean it was not the experience we were hoping for given the price.

Review 9:Great amenities-- golfing, croquet, pool hot tub. Lovely grounds and walking distance to good restaurants. We were 3 couples and had rooms next to each other so had time to visit on deck chairs outside plus had a nice view.

Review 10:We had to leave...

Review 11:Big room, nicely appointed. We've stayed in this same room 3X now and appreciate getting the same one. Large bathroom/sink area, too; nice for multiple folks getting ready. Beautiful grounds; convenient to The Olde Tavern where we had dinner twice during our stay.

Review 12:The rooms still smelled of cigarettes and felt a little unclean.

Review 13:Great facilities and location. There are free golf clubs for a pitch and put and a nice pool. There is a good walk and the town is close.

Review 14:Needed a wifi password. No one at check in told it to me, so I didn't bother to find out.

Review 15:The bed was comfortable. Away from Route 7, so very quiet

Review 16:There is nothing not to like!

Review 17:Being greeted with a big smile full of sincerity. The room was large and spotlessly clean. Sitting on the patio area first thing in the morning with a coffee admiring the view - the perfect way to start a day.

Review 18:The "continental" breakfast is a let down because there are somany good bakeries and vt products that for the cost, there could be alittle umf in the breakfast. They already are on a $2 honor scale, somaybe for .50 cents or $1 more, there could be a little something. Wechose not to eat there for breakfast. For family with kids or businesstravelers this makes a difference. The place in general is very no"frilsy" with a "motel" feel. But the service, cleanliness and comfort make up for it!

Review 19:Amy at the front desk and the extreme cleanliness of the room are barnone, set the standard worthy! Bed was very comfortable. Room had lotsof space to move around. And the jacuzzi tub was a welcome feature atthe end of the day!

Review 20:Never saw anyone while we were there. Wanted more coffee! Only one small coffee pot in room.

Review 21:Nice room, pleasant person that checked us in. Was surprised to have had maid service!

Review 22:The suite was spacious, very clean, and the view was incredible...reality not only matched but exceeded expectations from the online photos. Already planning a return during spring to hike/bike in the Green Mountains right out the back door.

Review 23:There really is nothing to dislike in Manchester or the Palmer House. Palmer House is near all the attractions in Manchester and delightful place to stay.

Review 24:Manchester is always a fun time but being at the Palmer House made the time even more enjoyable. Being a Master Plumber and being in the field for some thirty years, the Palmer House had me when I entered the bathroom and saw the one piece low flow Kohler toilet. The owners have spared no expense to make our visit first rate.

Review 25:The only knock on the entire trip was our service experience at the Ye Olde Tavern. Food was great ($$$) which was fine for New Years but was ruined by a waitress looking to end her night early.

Review 26:Staff (Aimee) was great and very helpful, the town of Manchester is fantastic, and the pubs, shopping, and skiing at Stratton Mountain all exceeded expectations.

Review 27:WiFi was restricted to email and light web surfing.

Review 28:Suite we booked had a great view of the mountains and a small lake behind the property. Cozy gas fireplace and jetted tub were nice perks. I would definitely stay here again.

Review 29:Nothing!

Review 30:The room was very nice and loved having the big bath tub and fireplace. We enjoyed using the indoor lap pool and the location near Manchester. The staff was very friendly and gave us excellent recommendations from the start.

Review 31:No complaints.

Review 32:My time was limited, but my friend Dottie was willing to take a quick trip, as we have done before and we were not disappointed. As of 11/21/14, I am a resident of FL, but when I do visit CT, I will hope to get to VT as always.

Review 33:We asked for a view of the mountains and wre lucky enough to have a room in the cottage on the back end of the property - very comfortable, rocking chair deck out front

Review 34:One employee was quite rude to to us when we checked in but everyone else was great...the beds were way too firm for us ended up sleeping on couch because back hurt too bad to lay in bed

Review 35:The grounds were amazing and the room was beautiful...the view from the room was breath taking

Review 36:There was a slight problem with the heat but I got enough to get comfortable without calling the front desk. If it was the dead of winter, it may not have been warm enough.

Review 37:Location, facilities and staff. Well run and maintained. Very clean.

Review 38:WIFI was a little weak but this was a very minor point.

Review 39:Upon arrival we had an upgrade to a suit the extra cost was well worth it. We over looked the pond and the suit was great very clean. With great facilities we had a very relaxing stay and the location could not be better walking distance to town with the feel of the countryside. I would be happy to recommend Palmer House to all my friends and family.

Review 73:Slow, spotty WiFi. Needs better breakfast offerings.

Review 74:Low price, large room, nice bathroom.

Review 75:The Bed! Hard as a board.

Review 76:Bed mattress very poor!

Review 77:Breakfast buffet

Review 78:The facility and staff are perfect for an overnight or extended stay at Manchester, VT.

Review 79:Great location friendly people very clean

Review 80:Nothing really. It was all fine

Review 81:Style, grounds, location

Review 82:nothing

Review 83:the proximity to Manchester: you can walk the pool and par three golf course

Review 84:The only circumstance that wasn't to our liking was the 96 degree constant temperature of the indoor pool area. It negated our use of it since it was far too high for our liking.

Review 85:We stayed two nights in April. We were booked for one night, but after seeing our suite with its tranquil, relaxing setting; we asked and we were able to stay another night. Another contributing factor for our stay was that we were able to secure a discounted rate online. We had a most delightful, restful stay.

Review 86:Too much clorine in the hot tub. They have cameras in which my friends and I were watched and repeatedly asked how many were in our party after we had already checked in. The feeling of being watched was very uncomfortable and that they did not trust us. Staff caused a big problem by charging us more money because they assumed there was one more person in our party and did not believe they were not staying with us. Beds were not comfortable either, very stiff. Was a nice stay other than the fact that we were being watched and monitored.

Review 87:Room was nice. Pool and hot tub were convenient. Convenient location to mountain and shopping

Review 88:A little salt on the refrozen snow melt on the walkways would have been helpful.

Review 89:Exceeded expectations, large nicely decorated room, well designed, clean, great heat and hot water. Friendly staff, one of the nicest indoor pools around. We will stay here again.

Review 90:motor lodge-esque environment misleading impression of sauna area

Review 91:bed closeness to town amenities
