Reviews for Danforth Inn
Review 1:There was a pungent smell right outside the back door in the garden.
Review 2:Personalized service was outstanding. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the bar and breakfast were wonderful.
Review 3:An amazing experience from start to finish - the inn, the staff, the dining... The perfect attention to detail. Among my top hotel/inn experiences ever.
Review 4:We loved this hotel from first step in - warmly greeted by Sebastian who was also helpful in answering questions about our stay. We loved the breakfast the next day - very unusual with a bit of Asian flare with one of the offerings - rice and lobster - yum. Blueberry pancakes too were delicious. A small bar and restaurant also on premises. Our room was fine, quiet, very comfortable bed and linens.
Review 5:Very friendly and accommodating staff. They were happy no matter the time of day and gave me some history of the building and property. I felt like a visiting ambassador being led to a suite.
Review 6:The bed had too much pillow top for us.
Review 7:We liked the old but renovated building; we liked the personal service; we were impressed with the new dining room service where we had a 3 hour dinner (we were splurging as it was our 30th wedding anniversary).
Review 8:Nothing to complain about except difficulty in locating the place and the price of the room.
Review 9:I appreciated the cleanliness, comfort and elegance of this BandB. Staff were terrific!
Review 10:Beautifully maintained and upgraded old inn.Staff was friendly and helpful.Room was comfortable and luxurious. ON SITE RESTAURANT WAS EXCELLENT.Will definitely return
Review 11:We had to improvise a bedside table for me by moving furniture around. No lift on third floor although the manager helped us with bags. The feather topper on the mattress made us overheat ,until we had it removed the next day. The bathroom was small with a very small slippery shower. There was very little choice at breakfast, although it was good. Overall we enjoyed our stay but we felt there was too much attention to details eg chocolates we could not eat, at the expense of some aspects of basic functionality you can just assume at hotels which are often a bit less costly.
Review 12:The building and decor were charming and the location is within 10-15 minutes of downtown. The staff were super attentive , and the lounges and cupola were delightful. Loved the live moss lamp! Breakfast was cooked to a high standard (pancakes were delicious) , and dinner looked good , though expensive. The bedroom was nicely furnished , comfortable large bed and fast wi-fi and air-con. Some extra touches, eg turn down and chocolates at night.
Review 13:Music piped in house was way too loud and was left on all night. We rummaged around at 2am trying to find a shut-off to no avail. It went off at 7am when a staff person came to work. The bass reverberated through the walls. We got no sleep...were zombies the next day. Also, the smell on main floor...incense, candles, whatever it was...is not pleasant.
Review 14:Very friendly and informative staff, so comfy bed and bath, clean!, great decor, upstairs sitting room and terrace, gardens.
Review 15:The overall experience from check in to check out was just superb. My wife and I felt like we were treated special by all the staff who put the patrons FIRST!
Review 16:The only issue was the ongoing construction to redo the restaurant. That made parking a challenge during the day. However, the owner scheduled the work between 9am and 4 pm to minimize the impact on the guests.
Review 17:The building was beautifully rehabbed and the service was excellent. The breakfast was gourmet and different each morning.
Review 18:Cleaners seemed to come into the room repeatedly and unnecessarily! Maybe get privacy hangers for doors?
Review 19:Bed was heavenly, breakfast was lovely. Very nice staff.
Review 20:Not one bad thing ..we loved everything about it :)
Review 21:The House was absolutely beautiful and cozy ..just like a house we would love to have ..The host was wonderful and couteous ..great breakfast ..many many great things to mention
Review 22:Breakfast may not be to everyone's liking but the forthcoming addition of a restaurant should help with this
Review 23:Well situated high end B&B. Large comfortable rooms well maintained and daily supply of free bottled water. Very pleasant staff giving it the personal touch. Was undergoing renovation at time of our stay but this did not impact on our stay.
Review 24:We were unable to stay in the room we requested due to a heating matter, which is understandable. We were contacted about this on the way there, which was professional and greatly appreciated. I just wish we had a bathtub as does the room we requested.
Review 25:The staff takes pride in the fine details that make you feel welcomed and cared for. My special requests were attended to, our names were printed on the morning menu, the baked goods were amazing; the smell of fresh baked goods filled the beautifully and elegantly designed home. Hand written notes to welcome us, slippers left out for us, and surprise chocolates left is feeling relaxed and happy. Morning breakfast was amazing, and the staff are graceful. We can't wait to go back.
Review 26:Coffee wasn't hot enough! That's it.!
Review 27:Beautiful surroundings, welcoming staff, delicious breakfast. Little box of chocolates on our bed each night.
Review 28:Everything was fantastic, we would highly recommend this place. Breakfast was great, it included three courses and a menu with our names on it! Close to attractions in town, wonderful experience!
Review 29:No restaurant on the grounds, but we were told that construction begins on this phase next month. Besto of luck.
Review 30:Lovely venue and hotel staff was second to none. We really appreciated all of the suggestions that were made for restaurants and places to visit.
Review 31:Room a little stuffy and had to use the air conditioner instead of opening a window. Minor but had to put something
