Reviews for Roosevelt Hotel
Review 1:Nothing I didn't like
Review 2:Older hotel with character and class, and nicely finished as well. Not vanilla like newer hotels. Excellent location in city near transit, shopping, dining, entertainment
Review 3:The size of the bathroom was a little bit small and old.
Review 4:The location of the hotel was amazing. It was closed to the Pike market, one of the most interesting placer to visit in Seattle
Review 5:Lacking a bar in reception area, that would have been great. Even a mini fridge in the room/mini bar would have been fantastic. Quite expensive for room only hotel.
Review 6:Traditional décor and reception area. Great location, walk-able to nearly everywhere.
Review 7:Very Clean! Fairly good sized rooms. Liked the split bathroom. Very centrally located. Was happy that the hotel gave me the parking rate that was quoted when I booked the hotel opposed to what they were charging at the time of checkout.
Review 8:Our room was a little 'tired' 'worn' particularly the bath/shower. However, there was a note to say that the hotel was in the process of being refurbished. Also the large numbers of homeless people in downtown Seattle were distressing to see and could be noisy at night.
Review 9:The location was great although being in the centre it was a bit noisy
Review 10:Although 3 rooms were paid in full for 3-days upon check-in, 3 separatecredit cards were charged causing much frustration and confusion!Photos on-line did not match the actual room amenities. NO hair dryer, fridge, etc. as shown on-line.
Review 11:It was my fourth time staying at this hotel. As much as I enjoyed the stay, it was not the best one. I liked the room with view, but it was very very very very small. It required some effort to have shower as it was very small shower space. I still like the hotel and will be back!
Review 12:Location & atmosphere. Very caring staff.
Review 13:I love this hotel. My favourite place to stay. The heritage building may not be for everyone, but I always find the atmosphere relaxing. Everyone works there has great professional presence, yet friendly and very helpful. They serve very complimentary tea and coffee in the morning.
Review 14:Great location in the heart of the city. Comfy bed fair size room. 2 min. from train station which is directly linked to the airport. Good value for money.
Review 15:Could've used a magnifying mirror to help see makeup, as forgot mine... and othe other side of magnified is a regular mirror to see side the and back of hair ....for us girls ..smiles
Review 16:Room was amazing...large open, with desk, couch, large room, coffee, lg. bed, close to elevator, nice TV and location of TV...also location of the hotel....and USA today newspaper great, friendly, helpful staff
Review 17:Rooms could use a small refrigerator and safe.
Review 18:One of the best locations in downtown Seattle. Easy walking distance to many attractions. Helpful staff. Clean and quiet.
Review 19:Stayed for 3nights, room is small and a little noisy in the morning. Hygiene not so good, stains found on towel and duvet. Called maid service to clean up and change the duvet, when we came back just one more duvet, no clean-up at all. When we checked in, front desk asked us if possible not to change the sheets, we said ok and were told the hotel will send us some water--no water at all. Before we left, we asked a favor at front desk, we need to mail a letter but post office is closed due to Columbus Day, of course, they said no.
Review 20:Nice location.
Review 21:Heavily perfumed lobby. Low water pressure in shower. Need to turn the mattresses regularly. Toilet practically on top of tub. Stray hairs from previous occupant.
Review 22:Location was great--near Westlake Station, Pike St, Paramount Theater. Quiet.
Review 23:The internet was a bit slow and was not working very well all the time.
Review 24:The hotel itself is really good. Well taken care of, rooms are decorated with style and the view from the upper floors was awesome. The location is great, downtown, and near all facilities you need. Very close to the westlake station, where the train to the airpot is. The staff was amazing, very helpful all the time and I really asked them a lot of things. Noli, the guy at the reception upgraded my room to a way better one from some problems I had with the first one. Thank you for that!
Review 25:I had a great relaxing stay. The historic building is located within 10 mins walk from Pike Market. It is not most updated facility, but it has its charm; also, it's maintained well and clean. Hotel staff is the best!
Review 26:Minor grubby details (fingerprints around door handles, forehead print on window, dent in lampshade). It would help guests if guest use of elevators were prioritized over staff use because elevators may be original to building and thus smaller and slower than in modern buildings. Nightly price was over $200 but no restaurant in hotel to offset meal costs, as in other hotels.
Review 27:Great downtown location close to Light Rail, restaurants, Italian coffee, shopping, short walk to Pike Place Market. Super friendly and helpful front desk and concierge staff. 15th floor corner room was large with comfy bed, refrigerator, minibar sink, free wi-fi, large flatscreen, and was pretty clean.
Review 28:Beyond being a small space, the design choices in the bathroom are really poor and not functional at all. Parking totally overpriced. Gym crowded with too many machines and no alternative floor space for more than two persons to workout at any one time.
Review 29:The staff was great. Location fabulous, room quite comfortable. This was a nice stay.
Review 30:the hotel is very wonderful... especially the concierge service ... ayoung man Iexpect his name does or don ido not recall exactly but I thank him very :*
Review 31:Bathroom could have used some updating (but was fully functional and very clean). Overall decor of room felt a bit dated. No breakfast option on premises (but plenty of good choices nearby). Some street noise.
Review 32:Great location for exploring Seattle by foot. Friendly and helpful staff. Room was very spacious and super clean.
Review 33:Parking was expensive. Ran out of coffee in the lobby, only had decaf available. Our room wasn't ready when we arrived - had to wait until after 6 to get into our room - desk staff did phone us to let us know when our room was ready.
Review 34:Excellent desk staff - very knowledgable about things to do in the area. Very friendly. Complementary cucumber infused water in the lobby.
Review 35:No breakfast provided in the hotel price as the restaurant is being renovated. The hotel was a little expensive with added taxes after the normal hotel charges. The bathrooms need to be renovated.
Review 36:The staff are friendly, helpful and professional. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and if you want a restful nights sleep this is the place to stay and unwind. Everything is at your fingertips with restaurants and shopping a few minutes walking away.
Review 37:The noise from a machine or something the first night....but this was rectified as soon as they were aware of my situation. So I cannot complain at all. We had a great experience here. Will go back anytime we are in Seattle.
Review 38:The location was superb. Just a short walk to the light Rail and the Mono rail about a 12 minute walk to Pike Place. Tonnes of great shops and eating places close by. The Cheese Cake Factory just a block away. I had a slight problem with noise the first night and went and spoke to Henry at the desk the next morning. Without any hesitation he found us another room and moved us immediately. The new room was absolutely awesome with some great views of the city. Thank you Henry...it was very much appreciated. We went on a cruise and came back the following week and had no where to go until our flight later in the evening. The staff allowed us to store our luggage for a few hours as we had stayed there the previous week. That is excellent service. Thanks you Rooseveldt Hotel and Henry and the gentleman at the luggage storage area. Your kindness is appreciated. We will definitely recommend this hotel
Review 39:No bath and no fridge in the room. Very essential - more business orientated, I guess.
Review 40:Location. The room is very cozy with a comfortable bed and nice staff. I will stay again.
Review 41:It really is a beautiful hotel, our room was just not what I expected. We had a deluxe queen room. It was the size of a postage stamp. and the bed was NOT a queen. It was a full size bed. When I complained the young man at the desk said they get that complaint all the time. ...well that's because you charge for a queen room and put people in a full size bed! duh!
Review 42:The location was great for shopping and restaurants, just a shame the room size was such a disappointment.
Review 43:I like the location, how beautif the hotel was, and the best part was the staff, EVERONE there was so nice and helpful. I will ALWAYS stay here from now on. And tell everyone that is was the best EVER! Thank you!!!
Review 44:Long wait to retrieve my car from valet parking; high price of valet parking
Review 45:Detailed restoration of a historic hotel; despite being "pet friendly," was extremely clean and "smell-free_
Review 46:Only a coffee maker in the room. I don't drink Coffee. An Electric Kettle would be nice. I don't mind bringing my own tea bags, but carrying an electric kettle with me is not an option. It's only an issue if you can't sleep and need a cup of tea at 2.00 am. LOL
Review 47:Location, Fast Wifi, Nice helpful staff,
Review 48:The restaurant that was in the Hotel is gone. We thought we were on the Hotel web site when we reserved and were not. The rates were higher than we have ever paid, outrageous. There was no AAA discount available on the web.
Review 49:Room was large
Review 50:Really service oriented staff. Very courteous and helpful. Great location for getting to/from airport/ public transportation, shopping touring.
Review 51:Room was only on the 4th floor, so the downtown street noise was very apparent. But didn't last all night. The mini fridge is in the bathroom, which was odd to me.
Review 52:My husband and I booked this hotel for your one year anniversary. We stayed in a Luxury Suite with Hot Tub, which was amazing. The room itself was large as well as the spa tub. Room had a good size sofa, huge mini fridge and wonderfully comfy bed. Front desk staff and valet were super nice. Good location.
Review 53:The whole package was exceptional! The staff was most hospitable and the accommodations are immaculate. Definitely will stay here every chance we get.
Review 54:The free WiFi did not work very well in the room.
Review 55:Absolutely loved the location. Easy to walk to places of interest. Great welcoming staff. The room was impeccably cleaned each day as well the staff who cleaned was courteous and always asked if we needed anything. Lobby comfortable and inviting.
Review 56:Room was warm. Very warm. Hard time sleeping. I'm sure we could have had it rectified, but we were lazy Canadians, so we suffered in silence. Not a huge problem. Sorry. And parking was lousy, but welcome to downtown living. To be expected I guess. I was able to procure free street parking, but very lucky to do so.
Review 57:Location is awesome, older hotels are awesome, Cheesecake Factory is across the street, best thing ever. Pillows were like warm friendly head Huggers, so comfy.
Review 58:Great location, friendly staff, and a very clean. The concierge, Eric, had solid dinner recommendations. Although an older property, the Roosevelt hotel is updated, and you did not realize how old it was except by its graceful architecture. Easy to walk or take the metro rail to all the sights. Absolutely recommend this hotel!
Review 59:The ventilation/heating system was a bit noisy/rattly, but not too bad.
Review 60:We wanted to spend the night in downtown Seattle at the heart of Christmas-time and loved staying at this beautiful, old, Seattle landmark. We could see the big Macy's STAR, hundreds of lit trees on the streets below (what a view from the 9th floor!) and found ourselves right across the street from Pacific Place which was dripping with Christmas cheer. The room was super comfortable and well-appointed. The staff was helpful, cheerful and professional. Couldn't have asked for a better place to stay downtown Seattle over the holidays!
Review 61:Reservation not as requested & error on checkout invoice Very small & dated rooms No restaurant or bar Only 1 ice machine on lower floor for entire hotel...slow elevator! No public washrooms in lobby, had to take elevator to next floor...slow elevator! Overall small feeling to entire place
Review 62:Great downtown location, comfortable bed
Review 63:Facilities were very poor. Not even a bar! No breakfast, no room service. Most of the many motels that we stayed in during our trip had far better facilities than this place! I'm amazed they have the cheek to advertise themselves as a hotel!
Review 64:Downtown location.
Review 65:No jug to boil water in room. Only a coffee maker which made luke warm coffee. No breakfast served and local eateries open around 8am
Review 66:Very comfortable, staff were most helpful, location right in the city. We were able to walk everywhere. When we asked directions for a steak restaurant the Concierge supplied us with tickets for a complimentary entree. Sullivans Restaurant ..worth the effort!
Review 67:Night-time reception staff not particularly welcoming, or helpful.
Review 68:The upgraded suite we choose was comfortable and spacious. All of the concierge we met were excellent, along with the daytime reception staff. Location was excellent - central, and very handy to monorail.
Review 69:The whole building is in some need of modernization. We had to wait quite some time for our room. Ther is no breakfast facility on the premises.
Review 70:The location was very central. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was adequate but a bit out of date.
Review 71:The bathroom door didn't close properly - but it wasn't a big deal for us.
Review 72:The bed was super comfy and our room had a tub/shower room separate from the bathroom which was convenient in the morning with two people preparing to leave. Location was also great - right across the street from lots of shopping! We were in town for the Seahawks game and were able to walk to and from the stadium quickly with no problems.
Review 73:Bed size too small (not queen size, more like a double size). Bathroom very small. ++ extra fee's, taxes! Room on the small size.
Review 74:Friendly staff, valet parking convenient. Great central location.
Review 75:Wish they had newspapers in the lobby and some muffins with the coffee.
Review 76:Lovely hotel close to all the shops and Pikes Market. Also just two blocks from the monorail. Very easy to get to the hotel from the airport on the monorail.
Review 77:Parking was not clearly explained by vale or front desk. Vale was $29 + taxes and self parking next door was to be $30 for 24 hours. We checked out within 24 hours an the parkade wanted $43 but the parking stub was kindly validated by the front desk. Also, if you self-park you cannot exit and re-park and must repay, vale does not have that restriction. No restaurant or room service. Stained bedding.
Review 78:Location, location, location. Soft beds. Friendly and helpful housekeeping staff. Overall the hotel is kept very clean.
Review 79:After buying non-refundable theater tickets, I was shocked to find the hotel cost more than twice the price of several previous visits. Desk staff indicated summer occupancy numbers & local special events tend to result in higher prices.
Review 80:The room was rather small, but comfortable. It was nicely furnished and clean. Desk staff were friendly & courteous. The location is only two blocks from The Paramount Theater where we can attend Broadway productions.
Review 81:Friendly, helpful staff, comfortable rooms, excellent central location.
Review 82:Location prime, older building and rooms with lots of space, each one different, a feeling of old fashioned luxury. Very helpful staff.
Review 83:The location within walking distance to many wonderful sightseeing, shopping and dining.
Review 84:Did not give me a copy of my bill final
Review 85:Superb location, friendly and obliging staff. Would certainly stay there again.
Review 86:Need new more comfy beds
Review 87:Quiet clean hotel in great location. Good view and close to work.
Review 88:Nothing oh no restaurant yet ?
Review 89:Stayed there last year also. Will hopefully stay next year. There us nothing to dislike.
Review 90:Close enough to walk to major shops & friendly staff
Review 91:Room was great for a solo traveler -- would be a little tight for two.
Review 92:Great location if you're coming for something at the convention center.
Review 93:Mattress comfort
