Reviews for Sea Breeze Inn - Pacific Grove

Review 1:Nothing to complain about.

Review 2:The location is close enough to walk to beach. We stayed in a cottage which is small but little more private. We didn't bring our dog this time and this unit would have been a little small for all of us. but when we have brought our dog we were supplied with a dog bed, dog bowl and treats. Quiet location.

Review 3:There is no table in the room at which to eat breakfast - the coffee/juice/pastry type is available at the office to take to one's room, but no place to put it to eat, save one's knees.

Review 4:Close to the seashore. Ample parkin, easy to find. Courteous and efficient staff.

Review 5:In December, the room is a bit chilly and the door didn't seal without setting the dead bolt. Tiny TV

Review 6:Good location. Nice breakfast. Comfortable bed.

Review 7:Don't expect a good breakfast from this place unless you like mass production tasting muffins.

Review 8:Rooms and bathrooms are clean. They have a little nook with table and chairs, stove, microwave, fridge and sink. It's near the 17 mile drive and the coast.

Review 9:Noise. You could hear your neighbors bathroom fan, toilet and inside doors opening and closing. Confusing room selection. We wanted a 2 bed room but received a 2 bed with kitchen which was smaller.

Review 10:Modern, clean.

Review 11:Housekeeping left our door unlocked the first day. The next day the front window was open a crack. Beds were torture. Facilities are old and pool/hot tub across the busy street and in horrible shape. Second day we had to vacate to wait for the room to be cleaned by 2:30. No view. Breakfast was muffins and coffee. Way overpriced for amenities and conditions!

Review 12:Location 2.5 blocks from ocean. Clean.

Review 13:The room was stuffy and they have no fans or a/c. I didn't feel comfortable leaving the window open.

Review 14:Lovely, clean, and updated place to stay while in Monterey. It's convenient to downtown and everything the area has to offer.

Review 15:The cottage was spotless, nice décor, very comfortable bed . We enjoyed the muffins, o.j. and the oatmeal for a light breakfast in the morning. Very quiet , no street noise or disturbing neighbors.

Review 16:Being told that office would be open @ 7a.m for continental breakfast by staff person, but all other on paper info said 8a.m. No one in office even 10 minutes before 8a.m.

Review 17:comfortable clean, quiet rooms, location within walking distance of beach.

Review 18:There is nothing negative I can say about this property. It is a terrific value for your money.

Review 19:Our room was clean and spacious. The bathroom was a good size and even had some counter space. We had a kitchenette in our room and it was well stocked with dishes, utensils, and pans. We would not hesitate to recommend this hotel.

Review 20:not bad experience - just some suggestions - this was a room with two queen beds. !. two regular chairs at table 2. two luggage racks as not too much shelf space 3. mirror outside of bathroom for use when bathroom is in use. 4. shelf in bathroom for makeup, toothbrush, etc.

Review 21:location, price

Review 22:TV is a bit too small and there's no storage cabinet in the bathroom.

Review 23:Love the comfy bed and airy bathroom. It's quiet and located quite close to the high street which offers plenty of beautiful restaurants, cafes and boutique shops. Only a few minutes walk from the sea coast. A great stay in general and we'll come back here for sure!

Review 24:Rooms were extremely small, no room to move around in room. No small tables or chairs in either the room or outside to eat continental breakfast or any other meal. Had to eat while sitting on the bed.

Review 25:Location was very nice. Perfect for walks with our dog.

Review 26:The most pathetic breakfast ( Costco muffins cut in half ) coffee & orange juice Oatmeal instant packets.

Review 27:Beautiful furniture & fixtures. Complete kitchen facilities in the suite.

Review 28:Lovely staff. we requested quiet pet free room and got exactly this. The room had been deep cleaned as my husband has allergies- very comfortable bed and peaceful location. Quiet requested after 10 pm which is great if you want to be up early. Breakfast very basic but as described.

Review 29:With a kitchen, there should be a table with chairs (we had to use the coffee table to eat dinner); second bed in other room was blocking the closet door from opening fully (if possible, the opening to the closet could be moved to edge of wall in bedroom); hot tub area could be remodeled; parking is at maximum; would have been good to have instructions for unique flip from tub faucet to shower (we had to wait until morning to contact front desk to find out.)

Review 30:Staff very nice and helpful; on short notice, we were able to get consecutive nights together on Labor Day holiday weekend; room rate very good for the larger size and kitchen; got a requested ground level room; asked for at least a microwave and small refrigerator and got a room with fully stocked kitchen (nice surprise); also had a separate living room from the large bedroom; big closet in bedroom with light; outdoor firepit sitting area very nice and available until 10 pm; pool and hot tub were clean and newly painted; continental breakfast good; coffee pot and coffee in room.

Review 31:Every thing perfect.

Review 32:Fun and peaceful. Cool days and nights. Short walk to the ocean, good restaurants, thrift shops, golf, and old Lighthouse. Good beds/pillows. Clean and neat. Fire pit and swimming pool. Friendly staff.

Review 33:The bed was a bit uncomfortable - too soft and the room was warm at night.

Review 34:The room was clean and the staff was friendly. The location was nice as it was within walking distance to the ocean and restaurants.

Review 35:We had a suite and the small sofa needs to be replaced. Very difficult to get up, no springs left.

Review 36:Great locations, just a few blocks from the ocean. Very clean.

Review 37:The ONLY drawback was a tiny closet that looked more like a pantry. We just stayed a couple days so it wasn't a problem, but the room could definitely use more closet space.

Review 38:Brand new room with full kitchen and beautiful decor. Beds were comfy and the bathroom was well appointed. You simply can't beat the location - a short walk into town and just a few blocks from the beach.

Review 39:Unfortunately our unit was located in a two story location and the upper unit was loud. Woke us up at 5 am while vacating and walls are very thin. I do like this hotel however but if I were to stay there again I would choose a one story cabin.

Review 40:Very cute and updated.

Review 41:It felt a bit overpriced ($212 per night), but prices may have been up the weekend we were there (Pac Grove triathalon) - they seemed to be up across the board. $150 would have felt about right.

Review 42:The room was very clean and the location was good - walking distance to the beach and the coastal walk. It was also nice that we got to bring our little dog.

Review 43:We had no complaints at all.

Review 44:There were 4 of us and it was not easy to find rooms with 2 beds. These rooms are perfect for 4 ladies. We used the large fridge for our snacks and sat by the fire pit at Happy Hour to relax after a long drive. We brought food for our breakfast and kept it in the fridge. Only muffins and juice are served and plenty of coffee. We enjoyed our hard boiled eggs with it and yogurt. Our friends were very impressed as they were from Sweden. We could hear the ocean from the fire pit. It is just down the street.

Review 45:We requested fragrance-free room and got a very clean room with little odor, with good cross ventilation. Staff was efficient and friendly. Quiet area.

Review 46:Bed wasn't the softest, I wouldn't like to sleep for a few nights on that mattress.

Review 47:The pet-friendly room, with a soft pillow, linen, a water bowl and some snacks for our doggy. The open air jacuzzi and pool The firepit

Review 48:Breakfast of muffins and juice was not the best but most others seemed to enjoy it.

Review 49:Very clean, updated rooms. Front desk staff was very friendly and nice.

Review 50:The pool is across the street from some of the rooms, and the breakfast room/office is on the other side of the street. Breakfast did not have a lot of options.

Review 51:Nice location. They upgraded us to a cottage since we were celebrating our anniversary.

Review 52:The room was hot..no fan, no air,we had to open the windows to get cooler..so traffic, dogs barking, screaming kids until 10 (we were next to the pool)one night a drunk arguement and puking outside our door. I will not stay there again, too many disruptions. Oh, and only one chair in the room, for a couple really inconvenient and we had to unplug the phone due to constant ringing.

Review 53:Newly remodeled room. Clean and nicely updated.

Review 54:This is a trailer park disguised as a hotel. The rooms are basically double wides. There is no air conditioning. The shower didn't work. The "breakfast" was just muffins stuffed with preservative and poor coffee.

Review 55:The bed made my husband and I back hurt. Shower barely running water. Breakfast half a muffin. Swimming pool far on the other side of hotel

Review 56:Only thing good about the place was the area and cleanliness nothing else not worth paying $135.00 I will not stay here again

Review 57:The breakfast was Costco muffins. No yogurt or hard boiled eggs. Just carbs and more carbs.....ran out of coffee at 9:00 and the lady was too busy to get a new pot for 5 of us standing there wanting some coffee. I had some in the room first Thank God. It is not hard or expensive to provide something besides Costco muffins with bakeries all over town. Just a small yogurt would have been wonderful. ( hardboiled egg even better ) I will go back with my yogurt and egg to put in fridge.

Review 58:The location and cleanliness of the room. Very nice bathroom but not enough counter space for a girl with toiletries and make up. very clean bathroom and window too. I loved the windows in the room for fresh air. Nice bed and bedding and dressers etc.... The fridge was Wonderful. Nice freezer too. Great for leftovers, water and cold pac for cooler.

Review 59:You could hear noise from the other rooms.

Review 60:Pleasant staff and the fact the breakfast was included. Pacific Grove is a really pretty town and there was a pageant on while we were there which was nice to see. We stayed here as we wanted to visit the Monterey Aquarium but had difficulty getting accomodation in Monterey. Pleased we stayed in Pacific Grove as we probably wouldn't have visited otherwise.

Review 61:The location of this place is excellent: right next to the famous Pacific Grove cemetery (where the Monarch butterflies come back periodically), and a 5 minute walk to the beach walk.

Review 62:No wash clothes in bathroom, chair in room was worn out and had a hole in the center so your bottom went through fabric, hotel didn't supply guest with a bag for soiled laundry, breakfast served in a vet small area so it was very crowded, the custodian walked into our room using his key a didn't knock,

Review 63:The bed was comfortable, the fire pit was nice.

Review 64:Nothing, it was all positive.

Review 65:We received a complimentary upgrade to a suite which was wonderful with a little private garden. The pool area was small but nice.

Review 66:The breakfast was a little weak.

Review 67:It is a very nice and clean place. The staff were very friendly. It is a nice location, just a ten-minute walk from downtown Pacific Grove.

Review 68:Motel is on both sides of the road, so the pool might be on the other side to your room. Not much of a problem though.

Review 69:Lovely room, very clean, with great kitchen area. Comfortable beds. Town is very pretty, but "closes" around 8.30-9pm. Motel is near enough to the sea and lighthouse for really beautiful coastal walks.

Review 70:Awkward kitchen/closet set-up in room. Only 1 small towel rack for 4 people. Coffee and breakfast not served until 8 am. Pool vacuum in way of swimming. Would be nice to have outdoor chairs on patio.

Review 71:Wonderful location and very clean. Restful and quiet.

Review 72:Check in across the street, no indication in any of the literature that there would be an additional $30 pet fee, the staff were pretty aloof. Ended up feeling that we would have no interest in returning.

Review 73:It was walking distance to the water/Bay

Review 74:The location was great and quiet. The cottage was very clean. We did make s'mores used the pool and the jacuzzi. Best of all we were upgraded to a cottage with a kitchen. With small children it helped very much. Staff was very polite and friendly. I would go back again.

Review 75:It was hot and no AC. They did supply fans. Because of the lack of air conditioning, I would not stay there again in the summer.

Review 76:The cottage was wonderful and quaint.

Review 77:Very loud neighbours from Asia who were unpolite and tooooo loud all the time that people were observing them what is going on.

Review 78:Pacific Grove is very nice place to stay also for few days. Very nice beaches, places to relax. I would recommend it to visit it. We've got brand new apartment what was just perfect. :-)

Review 79:The TV selection was short on sports. The breakfast was a muffin and regular coffee. Breakfast started at 8:00 AM

Review 80:The cleanliness and working condition of all items. Beds great

Review 81:The wi fi did not allow for streaming. The kids needed movies from the kindle and iPad and it didn't work.

Review 82:The 2 rooms, the patio. The location. The fridge and microwave.

Review 83:I thought that the breakfast could have had a choice ...perhaps croissants would have been nice with butter pats. Also real milk or non fat instead of powdered

Review 84:I think the detached bungalow is perfect for sound. I felt very relaxed in mine being a senior.

Review 85:No air conditioning. Pool across the street. Paper thin walls. Other guests did not heed the 10pm curfew at the fire pit so was woken up two nights after midnight by loud talking.

Review 86:Liked that it was pet friendly. Maid service was good. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Review 87:The carpet needs replacing!! And our sofa was broken if you sat on the right side you sank to the ground! Wifi. Very slow and shuts off after 9 pm. Would have liked more variety with breKfast some fruit?

Review 88:Location. Beds were very comfy and I liked the sitting room if it had better furniture staff very nice

Review 89:The wifi kept dropping, it couldn't handle all of the guests on it. The rooms are not very sound proof, I could hear my neighbors snoring.

Review 90:The location worked well for all of the meetings I had to attend. It was also clean and well decorated.

Review 91:The room had carpet stains and smelled nasty! Parking was poor, although not much you can do about it. The room had a shower tub with a non working shower.

Review 92:Staff unpleasant and not helpful (we have a baby and it took forever to get a room with a bathtub despite asking at the time of the reservation and they never agreed to giving us a more quiet room in the backyard; we were right next to the road). Breakfast is awful: bad coffee and half pieces of muffin. Motel right next to road so noisy and too far from good restaurants and attractions. Not worth the price at all.

Review 93:We stayed for 3 nights and they didn't tidy the room after the firstnight ( no clean towels, etc.) even tho' we had left a Maid Servicesign on the door at 10am. When we mentioned it the next am it wascorrected, but I feel it shouldn't have to be mentioned.

Review 94:The location of the property, it was close to the Monterey Bay andactivities

Review 95:Hot tub was on opposite side of the road...In need of some tlc

Review 96:Private and friendly cabin style cottage with nice style. Fire pit was nice and hot coffee in the morning.

Review 97:We bring our 7 yr old dog with us. Great places to walk to and explore. Saw deer in the cemetary a few blocks down while walking. Asilomar beach is two blocks away and the downtown area is darling with good eateries.

Review 98:I felt the continental breakfast fell short.

Review 99:The location is close to everything. I found the complex to be clean and quiet. Staff is friendly and pets are welcome.

Review 100:The pool was not looking fresh and the pool area was boring. Very simple breakfast. Only muffin, juice and oat meal (to make in the microwave) was offered.

Review 101:Travelling with our daughters of 17 and 20. Booked a room for four and was surprised to find three beds (one king size in the living room and two queen size in the bed room). We also got nice sitting areas, both inside the accomodation and outside in a private patio. Wifi was good and parking space was just outside the door.

Review 102:The amount you pay and you can't even Park there if you want really you have to bet everyone back to hotel to get a spot anywhere near your room

Review 103:Close to cali roots festival and ocean

Review 104:They have only 1 chair to sit on or you have to sit up on the bed. That was the only thing that bothered me, not good for 2 people sharing the room.

Review 105:The rooms have recently been updated , bed was so comfortable, very clean. I would defiantly stay there again.

Review 106:The room was so small. Could barely walk around in it without bumping into furniture. Bathroom had ants crawling around all over. Not as glamorous as they make it look online. And the staff was rude.

Review 107:The location was good driving distance to Monterey and Carmel.

Review 108:Nothing bad about this place at all! Everything was clean, updated and so comfortable. We wish we would have stayed longer than one night and we intend to come back here again! We didn't care about the pool or hot tub, but if you do then plan on walking across the street because they are not on the premises.

Review 109:We had one of the small, separate cabins with a fireplace and small kitchen. It was the nicest place, comfortable bed, great location. It felt like an upscale place for a more reasonable price than most. We have not been to Pacific Grove before, and we loved it!

Review 110:The mildew smell in room gave me a horrible headache! The bathroom had ants, there wasn't anywhere to hang our clothes( and we were there for our sons wedding) the bathtub/shower was horrible needed refinished! This did not look like the pictures at all !! It was not a $200 a night room!!

Review 111:Our room had a nice patio with table and umbrella

Review 112:Our two day stay was very comfortable, in an upgraded room that happened to be available when we arrived. Beautiful room in a beautiful area, My family really enjoyed our stay. Misty was most accomodating and helpful. Will definately stay there again.

Review 113:No water pressure in shower. Shower got cold half way thru...bummer!!! The TV is too small for the area. Absolutely no view.

Review 114:The room was newly remodeled, so it was clean and fresh. The kitchen area was nice, but could have had a few more amenities..i.e. wine glasses! The fireplace is a nice touch.

Review 115:We were expecting a much bigger room/cottage. Our room had a bed, a chair, and wow, a kitchenette that consisted of a microwave and a mini refrigerator. The curtain was dirty and the bathroom too. We didn't like that too much.

Review 116:The location was great. It was very close to the places we wanted to visit. The staff were very nice and accommodating.

Review 117:Upon arrival in the room, the cleaning staff left behind dirty rags in bathroom sink. We asked the Front Desk to have the cleaning staff collect them, but by evening noone had come. We had to put them just outside the door.

Review 118:Large room with 2 Queen beds & kitchenette. The Front Desk had upgraded my room, which was very kind.

Review 119:Complimentary breakfast had only chocolate muffins, I can't eat chocolate. Ants in the bathroom.

Review 120:It was private, quiet and we saw deer in the parking lot.

Review 121:WiFi did not work or was extremely slow. Poor sound insulation and people upstairs were very noisy.

Review 122:Very clean and spacious room. Enjoyed the fireplace.

Review 123:Bed was too high off ground. I had to ask for a stool to get into bed . I think they should provide in room an appropriate stool for safety

Review 124:Good muffins & coffe

Review 125:The wifi was barely functional, which was made worse by the lack of cellular reception observed by myself and reported also by others. The free breakfast was basically a supply of muffins and coffee. Finally, the "desk" in the room was a glass table (not usable for an optical mouse!).

Review 126:Location was good. Room was comfortable. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Review 127:The location is nestled in the trees, quiet yet easily accessible. The staff was very friendly and patiently helped us straighten out a problem with our flights.

Review 128:The only thing that was a regular annoyance was the door slamming to the room next door since it made the wall behind the bed vibrate each time.

Review 129:The rooms were very nicely furnished and exceptionally clean. The staff was very friendly and prompt with requests. The morning muffins and coffee were a great start to the day.

Review 130:Wifi was very slow.

Review 131:I stayed here a couple of times a few years ago and I must say that the facility has been really improved. The decorating and furnishings are very, very nice.

Review 132:Breakfast was a bit dissapointing. Had to pick it up in the lobby, coffee, juice, muffins and instant oatmeal.

Review 133:Room was rather small but very clean. The bed was very comfortable. Great location.

Review 134:There was nothing we didn't like about this place.

Review 135:We loved the setup, of the cottage. Everything was so clean, beds comfortable, and we enjoyed the fireplace. Deer came up to our door. It was almost like a mountain setting, around the corner from a beautiful seascape.

Review 136:my only knock on the facilities was that there was no tv remote in the room. cleaning personnel should have taken care of that. the person sent to reprogram a new remote did not know what he was doing, we eventually were sent a good remote by staff. room 203.

Review 137:I wish that there was a bigger selection for breakfast. We had a choice of hot cereal or muffins every morning. It would've been nice just to have a choice of an English muffin or toast, hard-boiled eggs, yogurt and such.

Review 138:Loved how nice the room was & a private patio!
