Reviews for Divan Otel Antakya
Review 3:There is no safety box,so watch out for your valuables.I was offered by the reception to keep my valuables, which made me a bit nervous but it worked out fine after i asked a written receipt. Some things were broken in the bathroom and they were not kept up to standards.Wi fi worked fine the first days except for the last two days when it was nearly impossible to enter. It was impossible to adjust the right temperature in the water in the shower,it was either boiling hot or icy cold and other guests had mentioned the same problem in their rooms.Breakfast was ok in general but once something was finished it was never replaced at new.So sometimes there were no eggs another no cheese and so on,unless you had arrived at 7 am.This hotel as the whole of the city of Antakya is bilingual,so if your language is other than turkish and arabic you might came across difficulties,so come prepared for that.
Review 4:The people working at the reception were extremely helpful and friendly despite the language barrier. The hotel is very central and the rooms were kept clean
Review 5:Wifi very poor we can't use Skype at all
Review 6:Like the place its clean and good, breakfast very nice with local varieties, we stayed in 2 rooms each room with group of 3 persons in each room, rooms not big but it was ok for us
Review 7:Value for money is poor. There was too much noisy. It need to have sound proof. Abnormal water heat changing in the bathroom.
Review 8:Only location. It was in the city center.
Review 9:No elevator. Good for exercise but bad if you are tired or low on steam. There is no dedicated parking. Parking downtown Antakia is a nightmare and the cops are quick in issuing parking situations.
Review 10:The location and helpful staff was top notch. But what really made the stay worth while was the terrace on the top floor of the four story building. The ambience, view and limitless hot tea and coffee made our evenings and lavish breakfasts something to look forward to.
Review 11:Very durty!Fan was not working (personel brought just a small one), no one cleaned the room or changed towels. Door had a hole in it (probably from somebodies wrist...) Water in bathtub wasn't going down - all tub was dirtly. Toalet paper was given once, not full one. Too expansive to pay for such conditions!
Review 12:Good location, good and tasty breakfast on upper floor with a great view
Review 13:☺ they are soooooooo kind. thank you
Review 14:Everything and I would like to thank Mr. Torgoy for his kindness and help he was from the most helpful staff in the hotel Thank you Torgoy. it was nice experience and good. I recommend anyone who like to visit antakia to book divan hotel
Review 15:I arrived at this Hotel on 7/4/14 after 30+ hours of exhausting travel and adventure, coming from Karpaz Peninsula on Kupres by boat to Tasucu-Mersin-bus to Antakya. This hotel, while not the cheapest, is a great value for comfort, amenities, and location in Antakya. It is on Istiklal Cd. within immediate walking distance to city center, old town bazaar, muze, parki, etc. Staff have limited English but are eager to help as much as they can. No maps of city streets so I walked to search for tourism company with maps. I booked a private single for US 52$ per night including breakfast. Room had 1 full size bed, nice balcony, good size bathroom with good water pressure, very hot water, plenty of linens, daily room service, TV. Relative spaciousness ++, good working A/C. Very nice Turkish breakfast spread 8:30-10:30 with local cheeses, hot menemen buffet (!), olives/cucumber/tomato/bread and the usual Turkish breakfast spreads, fresh vegetable and cheese salads, watermelon and beverages. There were three working power outlets in my room, and strong Wifi throughout all floors of hotel and terrace. This hotel was great place to recharge literally and refresh with modern luxuries after days of hot, sandy, rustic travel. Divan Hotel has some brochures for city points of interest and museums, but no city street map. In Antakya, finding a map is part of the adventure and locating city street names on corner buildings is a scavenger hunt in and of itself for the visitor!
