Reviews for Maxwell Hotel - Pineapple Hospitality
Review 1:If I had to change anything.. I wish there was a tub in our room but some rooms have them
Review 2:Loved everything - clean, free parking, complimentary cruisers to bike around town. Beautiful decor. Loved the robes and slippers and the husky dog was my favorite :) great staff! prompt delivery of a wine opener too! Free cupcakes and pineapple infused water upon check in. Amazing stay. Received a $25 off coupon for our next stay :) pet friendly and the bedding was so comfy
Review 3:We never got the room with seattle view and those rooms were empty. Staff at night not so Friendly. Parking can be better. its not really worth what i paid. Rooms are very small. And you can hear almost everything that goes on in the next room. Could be better
Review 4:Great location close to almost everything. Amazing staff in the morning. Always got help when needed.
Review 5:Good location near Seattle Center in the nice neighbourhood of Queen Anne. Room comfortable and well furnished. Free parking in hotel's own closed parking garage.
Review 6:Having to pay for parking across the street when you advertised free parking. Also a late check out for marathoners would help. She gave us an extra 30 minutes.
Review 7:Convenient location and pet friendly.
Review 8:Front desk staff very impersonal and not very friendly. Only two cups of coffee per room! And only one creamer. Since no breakfast facility, could have been somewhat more generous.
Review 9:Excellent location for access to Seattle Center, Downtown, and Queen Anne area. Very clean. Comfortable beds. Stylish decor.
Review 10:Nothing
Review 11:We were welcomed, made to feel at home and our stay was fun, relaxing and memorable. Rooms and hotel were clean, comfortable and nicely appointed. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back. Thank you Maxwell Hotel for a memorable trip! 5 stars!
Review 12:I love that this property includes many amenities for free that other hotels charge you for. The rooms are very comfortable, the free shuttle is fantastic and the location can't be beat.
Review 13:We were upgraded on arrival as they knew we were on our honeymoon, the room was fantastic we couldn't have asked for more. There was complimentary water, coffee and microwave popcorn in the rooms. In the mornings there were coffee and pastries in the lobby and cupcakes in the afternoon/evening. The hotel is located really close to the space needle and emp museum which is definitely worth a look. For other sites across the city the hotel provides a free shuttle service. All in all we had an excellent stay!
Review 14:No bad experiences! Only wish they had a hot tub.
Review 15:The beds were super cozy! All the little touches added up to a wonderful stay. We had an umbrella, cupcakes at checkin, robes and a large, spacious room.Parking was included!
Review 16:I disliked the construction and when I got moved to another room it was still terrible due to the traffic noise. We didn't want to complain and move to another room since the supervisor couldn't do anything else. Meaning, he said the place was booked and the only available is the corner traffic room. I guess if we payed extra for our stay he probably might've gotten a better room.
Review 17:I loved the complimentary cupcakes and infused pineapple water.
Review 18:Nice view of the construction happening behind the hotel.
Review 19:Fun interior design. Super comfortable beds. Free parking close to Seattle Center. Very warm and cozy.
Review 20:nothing. this was an exceptional travel experience.
Review 21:Overall, it is a long, long time since I've stayed in a hotel where every single aspect is an expression of welcome and wishes of comfort. If every hotel in the world offered Pineapple Hospitality, I would travel far more often.
Review 22:There was only one thing I can think of, that is offering muffins or fruit for breakfast, complementary
Review 23:Very professional and friendly staff Great location Very clean Bathroom and shower were stocked with Tommy Bahama product with dispensers Free parking and shuttle Great decor
Review 24:Pool very small and gym very tiny, made it hard to have many people trying to exercise at the one time
Review 25:Shuttle bus was great to use and the lounge seating area was terrific
Review 26:Loved the location. Loved the hotel's fun style and the thoughtful creativity and care that went into furnishing it. The nice people staffing it helped make it a memorable vacation stop. Especially pre cruise.
Review 27:Short walk to the Space Needle. We actually walked to the market several times. If you are reasonably fit you can walk many places easily. WfFi very good.
Review 28:The noises from the hallways came readily into the rooms. The elevators were slow.
Review 29:The staff was very helpful. The location was very good. The bathrobes were excellent.
Review 30:While most of the staff was friendly and helpful there was one ever present dour attitude at the reception desk that was kind of a bummer. Also, the room didn't come with a menu for the room service and the TV situation was pretty basic.
Review 31:I loved the big fluffy bath sheet and the heavenly walk in shower. The robes were comfy too.
Review 32:The cleaner lost one of my earrings when she cleaned my room. And when I called the reception, they didn't even apologize. Just asked my email address and told me it wouldn't be reported until Monday. But I would leave at Sunday, I could do nothing but to wait for their emails. No apologies!!! Is it the way they serve the customers?
Review 33:Room is big
Review 34:Not perfectly located, however, it a relatively short cab to nearly all the important neighborhoods of Beltown, Fremont, Lake Union, Downtown etc.
Review 35:Stayed in suite, the pull-out couch was easily the most comfortable I've ever encountered. Also needed car while in city and they had free parking.
Review 36:Room could have been a little cleaner, dirty plate under bed headboard and dirty behind dresser.
Review 37:We had a little "incident" shortly after settling in to our room that required us to move. The staff and management were all superb handling and doing the right thing.
Review 38:Watch your ankles on the side of the bed, I caught mine a couple of times on the metal part at the base of the mattress!
Review 39:The free shuttle was handy, we used it for a trip the zoo. The coffee in the room was good and it was nice to have some free water also. Having The Rock on site was good as well for dining in the evening when we were too tired to go further afield.
Review 40:No free coffee other than during cupcake time. Free coffee in the lobby should be a staple.
Review 41:Beautiful hotel. Loved the "naked bed" and all the amenities.
Review 42:Great ambiance, excellent bedding, very clean and great staff. The decor is not mainstream, place is quite funky if you will. Great bonuses. We will definitely return and use other hotels of this chain. Hooray for the pineapple
Review 43:The supposed "European" style duvets (ie 2 single duvets on one bed) kept slipping off the bed during the night. We had dinner one day in The Rock (restaurant tied to the hotel) and the service was very poor - long waits for everything and it wasn't busy at all. The hotel is further from the waterfront than you might think at first - a good 1/2 hour walk, and uphill on the way back - something to think about with kids.
Review 44:The free cupcakes and coffee every afternoon! The room was very big (two queen beds), plenty of room for a family of 4. Close to Seattle Centre which includes Space Needle and a very nice playground for kids. Nice extras in the room such as free popcorn. Very friendly staff in the hotel.
Review 45:We arrived early 10am but were unable to check in until 1pm
Review 46:The staff was very pleasant and helpful . We had a suite for five and there was plenty of room for all. The beds were extremely comfortable and the pull out couch was confortable. The bathroom was large and my kids loved the shower .
Review 47:The entire hotel/bar/restaurant was wonderfully decorated! The staff was fabulous and very helpful and catering. The coffee mugs in the room were my absolute favorite thing!
Review 48:I hated the 70s music in the reception area. The options to buy for breakfast were extremely limited to sugary things. The pineapple theme is over the top.
Review 49:WiFi was poor with connectivity < 20% of the time. No breakfast was available, even for purchase beyond pastries at a coffee stand.
Review 50:Rooms and staff were excellent.
Review 51:We had a great stay, beds were comfortable, clean, and a great location. It is a short walk to space needle. A little expensive but to be expected for the city. Nice to have free parking
Review 52:Could have used a second chair in the room besides the desk chair. Room cost a bit high but that is Seattle.
Review 53:Very nice hotel in a good location. Very comfortable bed and room has refrigerator, microwave, and included wifi. Love the mini pineapple cupcakes in the lobby from 3-7. Staff was friendly. Enjoyed our stay here.
Review 54:Would be good to have the option of breakfast
Review 55:Very comfortable beds. Great for Space needle but quite a trek to the centre of Town and Pike Market but the free shuttle service is great for getting you places
Review 56:Best check in experience we've ever had. Shuttle and underground secured parking a pleasant bonus! Bottle water & all the snacks throughout the day plus free bike rental small gestures that made a big impact on the outcome of our stay:) best hotel experience to date! Perfect location
Review 57:the soap dispenser...not all people like the fragrance...nor use flowery soaps..i went out to buy some... surprised at this...as i don't remember other hotels with both areas of soap dispensers...
Review 58:friendly people and great bedroom staff..the women were so friendly and helpful...
Review 59:We spent one night in this hotel, and in the morning I noticed that my forearm was itchy. Upon closer inspection, it looked like I had three bites close together - typical of bedbug bites. Now I'm worried about whether any of these pests made it home with me. I always inspect hotel rooms and beds for signs of bedbug activity, but it was difficult to do this at the Maxwell Hotel because of the dark coloured wall behind the bed, the dark wood headboard, and dark brown cover on the box spring. (I now wonder if dark colours were used to purposely disguise any signs of bedbugs.) On a lesser note, the survey mentions breakfast, but no one told us that breakfast was available. There was a coffee maker and excellent coffee available in the room, which was appreciated, though enough for a second cup each would have been appreciated.
Review 60:Good location; comfy, spacious room with interesting décor; friendly, helpful staff. No nickel and diming of customers with extra fees (like the Mediterranean Inn does!) I also appreciated the apparently freshly laundered white duvet covers - much better than using blankets and other covers you see in other hotels that looked like they rarely get cleaned (and make you wonder how much of other people's grunge is sharing the bed with you!) Nice, big shower too - so you can easily shower with a friend :) In the morning, you can make a good cup of coffee - with real cream from the little fridge, and you can take the bottles of water for your day's outing. There is even a big yellow umbrella in the close that you can borrow - a really nice touch. Overall, I liked the hotel a lot, and am disappointed that my experience was marred by waking up with itchy bites, the possibility of bedbugs lurking in the room, and even worse, the possibility of them hitching a ride home with me.
Review 61:The coffee shop was undergoing renovation and was closed. Not their fault, it was just timing. But we could have used a better coffee option than the run-of-the-mill average hotel coffee they provided. Had to walk about 5 blocks to find a good coffee shop.
Review 62:Location was very good. We stayed there before a cruise and they provided free shuttle to the pier, which was great. Located nearby were restaurants, upscale grocery store with great ready-to-serve food options, as well as several Venues for theater and ballet. Walk to many great options.
Review 63:We loved The Maxwell and its great staff. Very friendly and very knowledgeable, the Maxwell staff had suggestions about places to eat, things to see and the best way to get there. We covered a lot of territory during out two night stay in Seattle and loved coming home to our spacious, clean and comfortable room at the Maxwell. Great food and drink (and servers) at The Rock located in The Maxwell.
Review 64:Restaurant and bar close early
Review 65:Modern, comfortable clean, and convenient to the city even though not in central business district; shuttle and public transportation were really convenient. Staff went out of their way to serve us.
Review 66:We had an amazing experience. Loved the decor, the staff was welcoming and gracious. A few of the extras - cupcake reception, free parking and shuttle service, free water and popcorn in the rooms, the bedding is amazing!
Review 67:Paying almost $400 a night I expected a little more upscale feel. I've stayed in places that charged less and seemed more exclusive. King suites were like shoe boxes. The downstairs restaurant "The Rock" seemed like a cheep Hard Rock knock-off with food that all tasted the same, and not very good. Over cooked and dry. Drinks had barely any booze. Best part of the stay was the Metro grocery store a few blocks away. Which is sad that the best part of the stay is a grocery store blocks away. Oh yeah and the massive parking structure across the street is pretty much your view. I want my money back!
Review 68:Colorful and artistic. Located close to Space Needle.
Review 69:Front desk told me I had not paid for the full stay; they had 3 reservations for my stay. I had already asked Pineapple about the weird booking that was sent to me - 2 reservations. Also, I was called and told my credit card did not go through - after having been there nearly a week. Finally, an alarm went off the morning I was checking out and the first floor lobby (in addition to the parking garage) elevator was in accessible.
Review 70:Two beds, since a friend was joining me for the weekend.
Review 71:Nothing to dislike
Review 72:We were visiting Seattle to attend the Mariners game, dinner at the Space Needle and see Neil Diamond at Key Arena. Easy walk to Seattle Center and free shuttle to/from Safeco Field. Parked the car upon arrive Saturday and didn't use it again until we left on Monday. Perfect. No need to deal with traffic or parking issues. My idea of a stressless getaway. location, location, location.
Review 73:No problems.
Review 74:We enjoyed the proximity to the Space Needle and Science Museum. The room was very comfortable, and parking was convenient. We stayed 2 nights and all of us wished we could stay longer. We enjoyed the free shuttle.
Review 75:I gather the concierge is new- hopefully he will improve as his rudeness, unhelpfulness, and preference for playing on the internet as opposed for helping with things like luggage and taxis was the thing that left the biggest impression about the Maxwell.
Review 76:not too many places to enjoy breakfast close by.
Review 77:our short stay in Seattle for a concert was one of the most enjoyable experiences of my life. the Maxwell was fantastic in all ways, and very convenient to the Seattle Center area.
Review 78:The bedding was fresh, fluffy, and comfortable. If we weren't such seafood lovers we would have stayed in bed all day because they were so comfortable!
Review 79:The door to the room doesn't block hallway noise. So as late-night guests return to their rooms, the sound of their voices travel under the door, and bounce off the hardwood floors and walls. I was awakened at least three times on Friday night by noisy guests. I expected better for the price I paid.
Review 80:I enjoyed my stay at the Maxwell. The location can't be beat! The bed was tremendously comfortable; I really didn't want to crawl out of it in the morning. The in-room microwave and fridge are fantastic. Lots of charming details in the room and throughout the property.
Review 81:The pillows were not that comfortable.
Review 82:We loved the location and the cleanliness of this hotel. It will definitely be our go to hotel in Seattle! Free secured parking, friendly staff, nice pool, spacious rooms, perfect!!!
Review 83:Unfortunately, our room wasn't ready at check in time and we didn't get to check in until 2 hours after the scheduled time. And even though we asked for a slighty later checkout when I booked, we were told no at the desk. That was a bit frustrating.
Review 84:Had a nice stay while running a 5k. The beds were really comfy and the room was also very comfortable. Loved the decorations and the feel of the hotel.
Review 85:The elevator is really slow and the ironing board is tiny...
Review 86:The room is spacious and well-appointed. The parking lot in the basement is also a big plus, as is the hotel's location right next to the Space Needle, Chihuly Museum, opera house, Queen Anne area, #5 freeway, etc... The staff is friendly and knowledgeable.
Review 87:Not the best wifi if thats a necessity though.
Review 88:Great location for LA if you don't have a car. Funky hotel with great restaurant attached. Friendly and helpful staff.
Review 89:Wifi quality was really weak. Parking wasn't the best either with a small suv. Compact cars should be fine.
Review 90:Loved the experience overall and the comfort of the room. :-)
Review 91:If you aren't facing Roy, your view is either very limited or you end up with a room that overlooks a burnt down home/apt.
Review 92:The pool was shallow enough to where we didn't need to be paranoid about watching our boys swim. The decor was quirky yet classy. The bedding was soft and comfy. The staff was very accomodating. Free parking
Review 93:The view out the window was not very appealing.
Review 94:Decor and room were very nice. Downtown location was very good, easy to get to and lots of entertainment options. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
Review 95:Nothing negative at all
Review 96:Excellent staff Extremely clean and comfortable Great additional touches such as coffee and cupcakes in reception, umbrellas in rooms and at reception, bikes to borrow, free shuttle Would definitely stay here again and recommend
Review 97:Parking. When we returned at 9:00, all spots were full. We came back, followed by 2 other cars looking for space. Luckily, a man was just pulling out. We got the space. I have no idea what the other 2 cars did.
Review 98:Helpful staff, location for those who like to walk, comfort.
Review 99:We could walk with ease to the Seattle Center and Lower Queen Anne, and the hotel provides free shuttle service to various other locations. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The lobby is inviting, and the room fantastic! We had a view of the Space Needle from our room.
Review 100:We loved everything about our stay with you. We were there for a Gonzaga basketball game. We were able to walk to the game easily which eliminated any parking or traffic issues. Our meal in the Rock was very good with good service. We always enjoy the cupcakes & morning newspaper.
Review 101:Just being nit-picky, but we would have liked to have had a mini bar and some better TV selections for the rainy Seattle weather!
Review 102:We were in town to see a couple of plays at the Seattle Rep, and the hotel was only 2 blocks away. Also very close to space needle and other attractions. Staff was very friendly and helped us with whatever we wanted. Be sure to try the Pho restaurant next door!
Review 103:internet signal was not consistent.
Review 104:Hotel location; quiet even on a busy street. Exceeded our expectations! Spacious room with shower & Jacuzzi tub; front desk & shuttle staff superb & very helpful. Free parking & cupcakes in the welcoming lobby. Safe & comfortable hotel for Girls Getaway.
Review 105:I like everything about the hotel. Location. Facilities. WiFi. Food. Service. Catered to my every need. I will stay at The Maxwell again should I visit Seattle again.
Review 106:The restaurant is noisy and has TVs all over the place. Not an atmosphere that we like.
Review 107:Everything except the restaurant. Complimentary public parking is a real asset. Nice room, comfortable bed, helpful staff. Perfect location for us, as we were going to the Seattle Rep and the Chihuly Museum & Garden, all a couple of blocks away.
Review 108:No breakfast on site - just a cart in the lobby. Had to go several blocks to find a proper breakfast.
Review 109:Nearness to theater, Seattle Center, restaurants. FREE Parking, never took the car out of the garage all weekend.
Review 110:The bed was a bit uncomfortable.
Review 111:The location was excellent. Exactly what I needed. The hotel room was modern, comfortable and clean. I loved that they not only took pets but provided us with doggy beds and water bowls.
Review 112:The hotel bar was shut down for the weekend but no sign to tell that it was. Was informed after sitting there for 10 minutes and then directed into the restaurant bar instead.
Review 113:The staff were Friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about the area. The common areas were spotless, warm and inviting to sit in. The room was comfortable, quite and the bed was great to sleep in.
Review 114:The pool was fun, but very small. The restaurant was not so good...opened too late with poor service. They ran out of coffee at noon.
Review 115:Hotel was colourful, with interesting art on walls, and well decorated. The rooms were comfortable & very clean. Beds were extremely comfortable. Staff was helpful & friendly. Very well located to Seattle sites.
Review 116:Request sent two weeks prior was not honored. Shower has no door. Wifi terrible in room. Have to go down stairs to use iPad.
Review 117:The location is convenient for one who does not wish to drive.
Review 118:price was a little much but for the comfort and cleanliness and nice staff for one night was worth it
Review 119:loved the location and the staff. also didn't use the bikes but liked the option of having them. the shuttle was also a good perk. also liked having the rock connected to the hotel
Review 120:Fridge was warm. TV had no guide. Would have liked the room to have brighter lights to see.
Review 121:Walking distance to key arena. Free parking. Friendly. Special requests. Thank you. Cupcakes. Water. Newspaper. Fantastic map. Comfy bed. Clean room and white towels. Safety deposit box.
Review 122:Being at the hotel over Halloween meant dealing with a noisier, rowdier crowd than usual, but that would probably happen in most hotels.
Review 123:The location was wonderful. The free parking was a plus. The room's amenities were definitely a plus. I liked the fact that I wouldn't be charged for either the bottled water or the k-cups.
Review 124:WiFi a bit flaky. Only a small thing but why provide only 1 tea bag?
Review 125:Easy access from I5, free parking, easy walk to monorail and local restaurants, stylish decor and fittings.
Review 126:All staff were friendly and helpful including the front desk, cleaners and the driver. People went out of their way to be of assistance The hotel was beautiful and very comfortable. I could not recommend this hotel more highly
Review 127:Like most hotels nowadays, beds are made up with a sheet and a "way too hot" comforter; no blankets. The Maxwell is no exception. Ask for blankets when you check in or else you will bake/freeze in the middle of the night.
Review 128:This is a nice, "Euro Trendy" property that caters to the younger crowd. The cleaning staff is efficient and responded to my requests quickly. Nice location if you want to be near the Space Needle area with good restaurants nearby.
Review 129:If I had to say something it would be no breakfast.
Review 130:The beds were amazingly comfortable, size of the rooms were huge, decor were a nice surprise, wifi was super fast, parking was free as well as the shuttle to drop you downtown.
Review 131:Nothing!
Review 132:Free secure underground parking, proximity to Seattle Center, easy to access I5 & central business district, comfortable rooms, good WI-FI, coffee & bottled water in-room
