Reviews for Dunes Motel

Review 1:Nothing negative. Good room, good price and great people!

Review 2:They were all very friendly and accommodating. I was treated like family. They always asked if everything was alright or if they could do more for me. I liked that. It meant a lot!

Review 3:The owners old TV broke so hes charging us $150. On top of that he claims we were smoking pot in the room. We did not and we were not. So I'm letting him have the $150 and im going to social media to let it be known hes a thief.

Review 4:seemed like a nice low cost place

Review 5:I called the hotel to check on their rates/room prices for a familyof 4 for 2 queens- we have found some places would prefer to give the"online" price directly vs.paying the online fees- I wasquoted $15 more than the online price and my phone connection wasweak/hard to understand the person on the line, so decided to makethe online reservation as we were driving. When I arrived, owner took myname and asked how many people- I told him and he told me the price wasthe phone quoted price not my online price- he had "seen my phonenumber matched"- even though I put in 4 people online- he stillcharged me $15 more than my reservation was... We were tired after beingon the road for 12+ hours so we stayed anyway. We were unable to havebreakfast as it didn't begin until 7:00 A.M. and we had to be on theroad at 6:30.

Review 6:We have stayed here before, and experience has been better- but thesheets and bedding were clean- and the rooms were a decent size. It isan un-renovated facility, so everything is "older" Ok for ashort night's sleep.

Review 7:Nothing, it's all been good.

Review 8:I've stayed here twice now making long-haul trips up and down the 5. It's a convenient location, a pleasant and well-priced family-run motel with solid amenities and good warm people at the front desk.

Review 9:the cigarette smoke smell in the stairwell was awful. property was very outdated.

Review 10:availability on short notice (15 minutes!), location was easy to access. staff was friendly and efficient

Review 11:The owner seemed pissed that we were able to book online at $75 he would rather we paid him $91. The rooms were dingy and very poor quality. Breakfast was a joke -- muffins and orange juice.

Review 12:Not suitable for physically challenged. Carport under hotel. We were 30 steps up. Long haul for suitcase. Would recommend overnight bag only be carried to room. However area a bit suspect. Would have liked coffee in room rather than in lobby. We left before 7. Stairway reaked of smoke Almost turned around straight away.

Review 13:Convenient to freeway Clean room Good shower

Review 14:The morning front desk attendant was rude and unprofessional. There was dirty laundry from the previous customer hanging in the bathroom when we entered the room. The front desk guy started harassing us to check out immediately at 11am and came to the door at 11:05am beating on the door, my 8 year old daugher was scared because of the aggressive knocking and when I told him I would be out in a few minutes he didon't even respond. 5 minutes later I received repeated calls from the front desk and when I answered the front desk guy was rude and told me that I had to check out, return his key immediately or pay a late check out fee. This was 11:15am. I was out by 11:20. The hotel wasn't booked and wasn't full and when I returned the key to housekeeping they said thanks and that they weren't in a hurry. Extremely dissatisfied wit this treatment and the fact that my daughter was scared by the front desk guy's aggressive action. There is no "continental breakfast" either, I went to front desk at 8:30 to get some thing and was told "breakfast" was a 50 cent gas station muffin and when I tried the coffee pot, it was a dribble of old coffee. Don't expect to eat here. To be fair, the facility was not bad for the price and the night attendant at the front desk was very polite, friendly and helpful.

Review 15:The room and facility was acceptable for the room rate.

Review 16:The front desk guy was very grumpy, hardly talked to me at all duringcheckin, didn't explain breakfast or anything to me, and was on thephone half the time not paying any attention to me. Super rude, won't ever be back!

Review 17:Room was decent and comfortable.

Review 18:Mold on shower curtains, blood stains on sheets, dirty floor especially under bed, old TV, drab, dingy...

Review 19:The inn keeper was so friendly and helpful. He seemed like a really nice guy. I didn't make it to the morning breakfast but everything smelled like it would have tasted good.

Review 20:All rooms on the second floor so if steps are an issue, you may want to skip this motel.

Review 21:Have stayed here multiple times and like the location and value. Plus, there is a carport!

Review 22:I did not read everything so I was disappointed that there was noelevator (all rooms were upstairs), you had to use a key to actually getin the building (from the carport - inconvenient when full ofsuitcases). There was no coffee maker in the room and breakfastconsisted of coffee, oj, and small muffins. My shower curtain had moldon it and the bathroom had previous tenants hair left all over it. Iwill not be back!!

Review 23:The manager suggested not using the Wi-Fi because it had been hackedearlier in the week.

Review 24:The bath room wasn't clean. The toilet was dirty. The hall ways smell like an ash tray. So called breakfast was just coffee and a very small muffin. The WiFi didn't work most of the time.

Review 25:Ceiling mold, stale cigarette smell, rude front office (they hung up on me as I requested accommodations for my disabled child). We were surprised to see ONE washcloth and two hand towels in the grungy bathroom - when I asked for more, I was asked (rudely and in a confrontational manner) "How many people do you have in there?"

Review 26:Nothing

Review 27:They said free wifi, however the wifi did not work in the room. Out in the hallway it was spotty, worked perfect in the reception area.

Review 28:Air conditioning worked well

Review 29:Bed could do with replacing as very nmoisy.

Review 30:Mahagerr was very friendly and helpful. Room had microwave and fridge. Downstairs for free coffee. Included breakfast of coffee, juice and muffins. Great for price.

Review 31:Didn't like nothing about dunes motel

Review 32:I didn't like the motel at all was not clean, smell like smoke from cigarettes ,no coffee pot in room we had to clean the bathtub before we gave grandkids a bath, breakfast was alful muffins tv did not work I would never send any one there I don't see how u can book rooms for anyone at that motel I already put it on facebook for people to stay away I will be taken my business to motel 6 or super 8

Review 33:All rooms are up a small flight of stairs

Review 34:Easy on/off freeway Uber friendly front desk Excellent value You get more than what you pay for compared to other motels in that price range Multiple wireless access points, which means you get a strong signal whichever room you're in Although stuck in early 90s decor it's all very clean and well-kept

Review 35:We did not feel really safe in the city.

Review 36:The man at the reception in the morning was nice, he gave us a map of the area and some tips about Crater Lake.

Review 37:The gentleman that check us in was very rude. Yelled at our visitors. Told them it was past visiting hrs which was not his place to say. The towels felt like sandpaper. The doors had bad gaps big enough to see not only light but people waking by.

Review 38:This motel is so ugly, standing on a top of a parking , very depressing , the stair way smelly and the breakfast consisted in a coffee ,orange juice and a awful plastic wrapped muffin, so don't mention "breakfast included" We did not wait to get out of there. One more time, I do not understand how Booking.com recommend us that motel. Very deceiving.

Review 39:The room was raher clean and comfortable , we had a refrigerator.

Review 40:Nothing, enjoyable stay.

Review 41:Quite, clean well kept rooms. Everything we needed, for a much better price.Close to the freeway but no noise. Short hop to Food, shopping, or downtown.

Review 42:having somebody with me that have a marijuana medication card and then the owner wanted to turn that person in and charged us an extra hundred and fifty dollars did not matter to them that they had a marijuana card

Review 43:Would have liked a coffee pot in the room.

Review 44:We liked the location - so close to I5 and almost midway from Sacramento to Seattle. Very clean and the couple who run it were extremely helpful & friendly.

Review 45:Rooms have old tvs and cable not great Room was either too warm or too cold when try to adjust temperature

Review 46:They had many rooms available The owner is very friendly and accomadating Place is very clean No bedbugs Lots of parking Close to restuarants and gas stations Easy access to freeway Rooms are inexpensive

Review 47:Office area locked until 7:00am. Had to leave before that time without instructions about where to leave the key and with no coffee.

Review 48:Quiet and good value with covered parking

Review 49:The room was very small and did not have any freezer or microwave. The heating system was broken and was blowing the whole night, so it was extremely cold. It was not worth the money paid.

Review 50:The faucet was the kind that maybe dates from the seventies, with a faceted clear plastic knob that you pull out. This is harder to manipulate than more up-to-date faucets. The water can come too fast and furiously, and be wasted.

Review 51:There was a round table with comfortable chairs next to the window. A nice spot to sit and eat or read. The room was well lit and the bed was comfortable.

Review 52:Hotel is an older one. You get an actual key.

Review 53:The owner was great very helpful and nice. Easy to find and get to. Called ahead because running late and they were great and willing to wait up for us. Cheap rate.

Review 54:no elevator "breakfast" was commercially wrapped muffins, orange juice, coffee - no designated area for eating; muffins were on a tray on the checkin counter

Review 55:location was great

Review 56:The building hasn't been updated in many, many years. It is clean and well kept, but quite dated.

Review 57:It's a fine place to sleep if you are on a budget.

Review 58:The bed was a bit bouncy - no, really, all by itself! Otherwise, nothing distracted from a pleasant stay.

Review 59:The room was very clean and tidy, with invigoratingly hot water from a powerful shower, the staff were friendly and engaging, even offering directions to three good restaurants (Brix Grill, the one we chose, was excellent!) and within walking distance of the motel. There's a Denny's right next door if that suits your tastes. The Dunes motel (with no actual dunes in sight!) is a good value for the money, right off I-5 (but you can't hear the highway), and just across twin bridges into and out of the quaint downtown area of Roseburg. The owner is a funny bugger and tells a good tale. He had us smiling. Thanks for good stay.

Review 60:We were on the road for a month and not much matters if it isn't clean. This place is spotless. They did get us a coffee pot on request and suggested a wonderful place for dinner.

Review 61:We where at Roseburg for an Art festival, we use the hotel to sleep and shower mainly. This hotel is just right, very close to the festival, clean, hot shower. The owner is a very nice gentleman that makes you fell like family. The price is right for what we need.

Review 62:nothing had a good stay.

Review 80:I couldn't find the Wi-Fi information to access the internet from my laptop.

Review 81:101 deg. temp. and the air conditioning didn't work

Review 82:Blankets were pretty old.

Review 83:Worth for the money paid.

Review 84:Very Poor Wifi. Bathroom tap broken

Review 85:Asked for smoking room didn't get it. Room was super hot. Beds were uncomfortable. Would not dtay there again
